- Double winners Arsenal make the short journey across London to Loftus Road, intent on preventing Fulham becoming the fifth side in succession to defeat them, and thus put an end to their worst run in 19 years.
- Everton, and their teenage wonder kid Wayne Rooney, brought an end to Arsenal's all conquering and record breaking run. Then Auxerre defeated them at Highbury in the Champions League. The home fans then witnessed an identical score against Blackburn. The Gunners' third successive 1-2 reverse was suffered at Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday night when David Seaman was dealt with harshly in conceding a late penalty.
- The North London giants longest losing run in comparatively recent living memory was eight successive League and Cup matches between 12 February and 12 March, 1977.
- The Gunners last suffered more than two successive defeats in the Premiership seven years ago. They lost 0-1 at home to West Ham (5 Mar), then away defeats to Blackburn (3-1, 8 Mar), Newcastle (1-0, 19 Mar) and Man Utd (3-0, 22 Mar).
- Arsenal are unbeaten in London derbies this season. They followed away draws at West Ham (2-2) and Chelsea (1-1), with a 3-0 success over Charlton at the Valley.
-
Arsenal are the Premiership's top scorers with 26 goals - that's one every 38 minutes on average. If they can add to it here they will extend their record of scoring in consecutive League games to 51.

Been awarded four penalties in Premiership matches this season. Only Liverpool have been awarded more (5). Both Fulham and Liverpool have converted three. Blackburn, Man Utd and Southampton have converted all three of the spot kicks they were awarded.
-
Fulham go into the match with confidence high after a commanding 0-3 victory in the Uefa Cup Second Round First Leg against 10-man Dynamo Zagreb in Croatia. Luis Boa Morte, Steve Marlet and Barry Hayles were all on target.
- Fulham's 50th Premiership match is also their fifth London derby of the season - all at home . So far they've beaten Spurs 3-2, drawn 0-0 with Chelsea, beaten Charlton 1-0 and lost 0-1 with West Ham.
- That defeat by the Hammers was followed by a 4-2 loss at Southampton when they let a two goal lead slip. It means that the Cottagers take on the champions in danger of a third successive defeat.
- Fulham were 'doubled' by Arsenal in their first season in the Premiership, and have lost four times as many League matches as they have won against them - five to 20.

Matchday Referee: Jeff Winter, Stockton-on-Tees, Cleveland
Jeff Winter has been a regular Premiership referee over the past seven seasons, but arrived in the top flight after a number of years as one of the country's top linesmen. The 47-year-old spent six seasons as a Football League referee's assistant, before graduating to gain full control of matches.
Previously a financial services advisor by trade, Winter is yet to make FIFA's referee list and needs some more high profile matches in order to make the step up. His career highlight so far has been taking charge of a women's FA Cup final. Winter is hopeful of developing his reputation as a dependable official this season and is always a popular figure amongst the players - because he only dished out an average of 2.65 yellow cards in his 20 matches during 2001/02.
(Ed. In his 5 games so far this season Mr. Winter is issuing yellows at a slower rate than last season and still at a slower rate than other refs. His last Fulham game was the Charlton home clash when he booked Rufus for dissent. Last season he reffed 3 Fulham Premiership games, Charlton, Liverpool and Southampton, and booked just one Fulham player. It was Rufus again, that time for unsporting behaviour, not much love lost there then)
