Fulham have inquired about the availability of prolific Brazil striker Mario
Jardel and he has indicated that he will consider leaving Sporting at the
end of the season.
"I'm in the best form of my life and it's only normal that other
clubs should be interested in me," he said. "However, I feel
great here and don't want to think about next season yet. I'm only thinking
about Sporting right now."
A Fulham representative, who labelled Jardel a "goalscoring machine,"
has been in contact with the Brazilian, whose buy-out clause is fixed
at £13 million.
The forward joined the Alvalade club for £3 million last summer
from Turkish side Galatasaray after one of the longest transfer sagas
in history.
Benfica, Porto and Marseille all mistakenly believed they had signed
the player at different stages.
The 28-year-old has scored 28 goals in 18 games this season, including hat-tricks
in his last two Liga outings.
