Fulham beat Man Utd!!

In the Premiership players are yellow carded, on average, every 9.4 fouls while in the Nationwide's three divisions players are treated more harshly and get a yellow card, on average, every 8 fouls.

Jean Tigana's squad however are yellow carded every 4.9 fouls and have now collected 52 yellow cards for 256 fouls. This is the quickest rate in England and more than twice the rate of Man Utd who only get yellow carded each 10.4 fouls. "Lucky" Arsenal have the lowest rate in the two leagues at 13.8 fouls per yellow card so have just 25 yellow cards for 344 fouls.

This means that Fulham players risk suspension far more quickly than any Premiership player and any player in the Division One promotion struggle. Fulham have committed nearly 25% less fouls than the average for the other 5 Division One promotion contenders but have been given 31% or 22 more yellow cards.

It is hard to work out why this imbalance exists as Fulham are also one of only 9 clubs in the Premiership and the Nationwide that have not picked up a single red card yet.

A further mystery is that the brunt of referee's apparent over penalisation is being carried by Fulham's high scoring front men, Louis Saha, Luis Boa Morte and Barry Hayles who have accumulated 20 yellows while Fabrice Fernandes, a young slight attacking mid-fielder, has collected a further 6 cautions.
