Brad Friedel has rubbished claims he clashed with Martin O'Neill about a move from Aston Villa to Fulham.
O'Neill walked out on Villa on Monday and a host of theories have been put forward for his exit, with one being that the Ulsterman was not happy that the American keeper wanted to move to the Cottagers.
Friedel has close links with new Fulham manager Mark Hughes, but he has poured cold water on claims that it was one of the reasons for O'Neill's departure.
"I have never had conversations with Fulham and never had a conversation with Martin O'Neill about Fulham so I don't know where that story came from," Friedel said on Tuesday.
