SWINDON TOWN'S impending FA Cup third round tie at Fulham has "captured the imagination" of the club's supporters.
That is the opinion of manager Danny Wilson, as up to 6,000 Swindon fans are expected to travel to Craven Cottage for the clash against the Premier League side on Saturday, January 2.
After their initial allocation of 3,800 seats were snapped up, County Ground bosses request another batch of tickets which are also selling quickly.
And Wilson believes the opportunity to face a Fulham team doing well both in the top flight and Europe, is a mouthwatering proposition for fans and players.
"Fulham are doing very well this year under Roy (Hodgson), as they did last year, and since he took over he has turned the club around and turned them into a force in the Premier League," said Wilson.
"They are getting stronger and stronger with every season that goes along "I think it's captured the imagination of our fans that we are playing against an established team, who are going very well in the Europa Cup as well as the league.
"It promises to be a good game. They've got a good reputation of playing good football, so it's great for us - the fans and the players - that we can go to a Premier League club and experience what it's all about.
"Possibly some of the fans will never be able to see Premier League clubs unless they are drawn in clubs like this, so it is terrific."
Fulham go into the game off the back of several impressive performances.
Hodgson's side toppled Premiership champions Manchester United 3-0 a fortnight ago, secured progression into the Europa League knockout stage and almost pulled off a stunning victory against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
They are regarded by many as one of the best passing sides outside of the top four and have one of the form strikers in the country at present in Bobby Zamora.
