On Friday 30th January, Fulham announced the signing of Oscar Bobb from Manchester City for an undisclosed fee on a five-and-a-half-year deal, keeping him at Fulham until the summer of 2031.
An elegant winger who thrives with the ball at his feet and has a good eye for a pass, Bobb primarily operates on the right flank and likes to cut inside on his left, though he can also play on the opposite side or behind a striker.
A Norway international, Bobb came through the Vålerenga youth setup in his native country, before joining the prestigious City Football Academy after his 16th birthday.
Funnily enough, his first taste of senior football came against Fulham, in a Premier League meeting at the Etihad at the start of 2023/24. That was the first of 26 appearances the 20-year-old made that season, as City won the Premier League and the Club World Cup.
Bobb had already opened his City account in the UEFA Champions League by the time he found the net in the Premier League, but that effort against Newcastle United will be fondly remembered by those of a blue persuasion for many a year.
With the scores level at 2-2 in stoppage time at St James’ Park, Bobb made a brilliant run that was picked out by Kevin De Bruyne, before showing remarkable footwork to round the goalkeeper and dispatch the winner. It was duly named Premier League Goal of the Month.
He started the following campaign with an assist in a Man of the Match display as City defeated rivals Manchester United in the Community Shield at Wembley, but a broken leg suffered in training meant he didn’t see action again until the following April.
Bobb began the 2025/26 season as Pep Guardiola’s first choice on the right wing, starting the first three Premier League fixtures, featuring 15 times in all competitions prior to making the move to Fulham.
Here, he joins up with compatriot Sander Berge, who has been an international teammate since Bobb won his first cap at the age of 20.
