On Thursday 19th July 2016, Fulham announced the signing of left-back Scott Malone from Cardiff, which saw Jazz Richards move in the opposite direction.
He joined Fulham on a two-year deal, with a Club option for an additional 12 months.
Malone started his professional career at Wolverhampton Wanderers, enjoying loan spells with Hungarian outfit Upjest of Budapest, Southend United, Burton Albion and AFC Bournemouth, before moving permanently to Dean Court in January 2012.
He scored five goals in 32 league appearances during his time on the South Coast.
He made the switch to Millwall that summer and was voted Player of the Season runner-up in 2013/14 as he helped the Lions to safety in the Sky Bet Championship.
In January 2015, he signed for Cardiff on a two-and-a-half-year deal, making 54 league appearances for the Bluebirds, the first of which was against Fulham.
A former England youth international, Malone made six appearances for the Under-19 team.
Malone scored Fulham's equalising goal in an away game against eventual play-off winners Huddersfield Town, with Fulham coming back from 1–0 down to comfortably win 4–1.
Malone played in both legs of Fulham's Championship play-off semi-final against Reading, on 13 May and 16 May 2017 respectively, with Fulham losing 2–1 on aggregate.
On 5 July 2017, Malone joined Premier League club Huddersfield Town for an undisclosed fee, signing a three-year deal with the club.
