Player description
Jaroslav Drobny joined the Club in June after finalizing a move that had been on the cards since January 2005, when the Czech Goalkeeper signed a pre-agreement contract while with former club Panionios.
The 25-year-old shot stopper moved from the Greek side for an undisclosed fee, agreeing a three year deal which will see him at Fulham until 2008. Drobny said of the move; “I am very happy to get the opportunity to play for Fulham in the Premiership, it is my ambition to compete at the very highest level and I am looking forward to joining the rest of the squad for pre-season training.”
One of the most highly rated goalkeepers in the Greek League, Drobny has played in the UEFA Cup for two consecutive seasons – competing against Newcastle and Barcelona amongst others. Between 1999-2002, while with SK Ceske – for whom he played prior to joining Panionios – Drobny also made 18 appearances for his national Under 21 side.
