Hammond is a great prospect for the future at Fulham who made his debut for the club as a half-time substitute in the League Cup against Chesterfield in September 2000.

He has played with the likes of Marcel Desailly, George Weah, Roger Milla and Ade Pele in Ghana.

Hammond joined Third Division side Bristol Rovers on loan at the beginning of September 2001, making his debut in a 0-0 draw at home to Shrewsbury Town. He played a further seven games for the club but failed to get on the scoresheet. Injury then plagued him for much of the rest of that season.

The player was given a run in the first team at the end of the 2002/03 season and, although he didn't get on the scoresheet, impressed with a series of committed and high-powered displays.

That had the supporters itching for him to be thrown into the side for the 2003/04 season, but in August he was loaned out to Norwich City for a month. He failed to impress, failing to score in four outings.

He now seems unlikely to make the breakthrough with Fulham.

After making only two appearances in 2004/05 he was loaned to Duch outfit RBC Roosendaal on transfer deadline day in January of that campaign.

Hammond was then loaned to Leicester City for the first half of 2005/06 and the deal was made permenent just before the closure of the Summer transfer window
