A French U21 player brought in by Jean Tigana, this time on loan from Rennes for a year with a view to a permanent move. Fernandes has already impressed since he arrived at the beginning of August making his way into the starting line-up after an accomplished performance against Northampton in the Worthington Cup. He is highly regarded in his native France where the 21-year-old has already appeared for the under-21 side and for First Division club FC Rennes. Following a dispute with Fulham manager Jean Tigana Fabric left the club. He went to Glasgow Rangers but neither Rangers or Celtic were prepared to pay £4.5m demanded by Rennes so he returned to France.
