We are interested in Muniz from Flamengo. From the YouTube evidence he looks a good striker with great potential. A big risk because he is a young lad who has played only a few games for Flamengo. Would be a loan signing with option to buy, Silva keen on Portuguese speaking Muniz.

Seri is our record signing and one of the worse signings we have ever made. Please take what you get for him as if we paid £25m he is probably worth £4m at best, but £4m would buy a better player than him. I hope TK has learnt from that disaster if he was not the owners son he would be sacked.
Replies
I have to agree that Seri is not one of our best signings but there have been worse. One Steve Marlet at £12m (at least £36m in today's money) springs to mind for example and what about Mitroglu?

I'm sure some of the older supporters can remember more....

When a player is having a medical he is discussing terms with Fulham and also having a medical. The fact that Grimes has not signed indicates terms were not agreed. As he is at present Club captain he may expect the same position at Fulham and we probably cannot agree to that. It is seemingly little things like that that transfer fail on.

TTIN, I'm not sure from where you get your information but from the little I know about transfers it is that terms are agreed long before a medical takes place. We all know that medicals are a three day affair with Fulham as well so no need to panic just yet and the transfer is only media speculation in any case (albeit quite strong, I agree)…

Latest report ‘According to documents filed with Companies House at the end of last month, Fulham chairman Shahid Khan has written off £151m of loans from his Cougar HoldCo by converting them into shares. This continues a pattern from the start of Khan’s ownership of the football club back in the summer of 2013’. That’s the sort of commitment I’d like to see. Can you see either the Man U or Liverpool owners doling this? Instead they tend to do the opposite by taking money out of their clubs.

MAF converted debt to equity when he was going to sell, it of course it means you recover your debts through the sale. Cannot see any other reason why you would do it. The amount of unjustified criticism they have received may be driving the Khans out. In you do not believe that a person from a foreign country cannot do as well as Brit that is racism.

Look around at some other clubs’ owners and see what they have done to a lot bigger clubs than ours eg Man Utd and Liverpool’s previous owners. West Ham and Newcastle’s fans would swop. The owners of this club have put millions into Fulham and have made mistakes admittedly; but at least they give the club stability and I honestly believe their choice of the latest manager is spot on. The latest acquisitions don’t seem too bad either. I think the supporters of Bury or Swindon would give their right arms for our owners, so stop all the bloody whinging and whining and get behind the team, manager and owners

Jegs, I don't often agree with your comments, but I am right behind you with this one. If our real fans could only sit down, pour out a glass of wine, and think seriously about our clubs owner's and just realize how lucky we are to have them. Yes, of course they have made some mistakes, some bigger than others, but on reflection, they were doing their very best for our club at the time, and hindsight is a wonderful thing, and the experience will not in their minds be forgotten. I have quite a strong feeling that should we return to the Premier League sometime soon, they will not make the same mistakes again, and may I add, that although it is early days, I think that appointing Marco Silva(How did they find him)will be a master stroke.

Can't fault the owner Shahid. His son Tony, yes, plenty of blame can be put his way. The owner has been excellent. Someone who knows accounting better than me might be able to expand on this.

Khan is the 100% owner so it makes no commercial difference to him if he is owed cash or holds shares. The company pays him a dividend on shares. He controls the process. He would pay tax on a dividend, but most likely his exit is sale at sometime. Converting debt into shares helps with fair play. I guess that’s why he has done it. He is a clever guy for sure.

A really good idea by Boris' "Ideas Man" to restrict entry to football grounds and nightclubs to those with a double jab. I have no doubt that the uptake from the under 30's will start to increase significantly as we near September. I for one will feel more comfortable moving out of the ground amongst people who have been protected.

Like you OB, I'm really looking forward to this season and have a really good feeling that we will do well again.

The playoffs last season were virtually impossible for the promoted team with so little time to put a team together. People complained about all the loan players but that was their only choice. Every time we tried to sign a player there were probably at least a dozen other teams around the World after the same player, so on average we signed one player for every twelfth player we made a bid for. That takes a lot of time or require a lot of staff we cannot afford. Who can judge in these circumstances how well the HR department did. A better manager may have kept us up as in my view that team was no worse than many other teams in the PL.

Obviously the players are key, and I think Fulham have a pretty decent squad. It was widely mooted that Fulham had the best squad in the Championship last time we were here yet we scraped through via the playoffs. Was that down to Parker? I think it was. I know managers can’t score goals or make saves, but look what Sean Dyche and Chris Wilder get out of their teams. I think Parker had a strong enough team to have stayed in the Premiership, but his management skills weren’t good enough. It may be that he is successful at B’nmouth because he has learned from his mistakes

The last minute transfers did us no good at all. This never allowed the team to get used to each other and the style of play. Have to agree with TTIN regarding a better manager, having said that would Parker have kept us up if we purchased the player’s early? At least Silva seems to know what he wants team wise and hopefully he is a better tactician than our last “Coach”.

The real answer to why are we building a new stand is that its building and running cost do not count in the FIFA finical rules but the income streams it generates will. It makes us a bigger Club in the way FIFA calculates it.

Andersen is clearly not as good as his agent thinks he is. Andersen was high up in the shop window until he showed his serious lack of pace in tracking back the more pacier forwards. I pointed this out towards the end games to our prem season. In these days of high tech and good observation, the top clubs would have worked out the details on Andersen. I like Andersen and he suited us in the way we play football even with his lack of pace. We gave Hector a contract but i would have preferred Andersen who should cost no more than the fee for Wilson. Andersen to sign for Palace is a gamble because Roy Hodgeson is no longer there and i think Zaha will move on soon leaving Palace in a delicate state. Not saying they are a one-man team, but Zaha is the main man at Palace and they are more in the drop zone than higher up the table which means, it is only a matter of time when the inevitable will happen. Ariola might find himself in no-mans-land if he doesn't get his big move also, and it is a pity that our new management didn't get a moment to talk to both these guys who i think would guarantee us top 3 at the very least? We should still cake-walk this division though in my oopinion...

It is good to see us acting early in the transfer market and I am pleased with the signings (including Matt Grimes if he passes his medical today) but I can't help thinking; are we collecting mid-fielders again? What really pleased me, was Wilson saying that two of the reasons for signing for us, was the ambition of our club, and the impression that was made to him by Marco Silva. With our run out with Southampton seeming quite impressive, and as Mawson played, that nonsense about him being out for three months being kicked into touch, and with a number of first teamers still missing, all in the garden seems Rosie at present. Early days I know but at least we are getting some pre-season friendlies in this time, giving our players time to gel. Times they are a changing. COYW

Just watched the highlights of the game. Fabri was in goal and looked really good. Assume he is in the way out with the signing of gazzaniga though. Looked like we were going to sign gazzaniga last season before Areola came in. Can’t help but think it might be a very astute signing. He did very well In loris’ absence for Spurs and could be a very solid number one, especially in the championship. As good as rodak is, unfortunately he is not premier league quality and gazzaniga may well be.

We need competition in all areas especially the goalkeeper. I liked Bettonelli but we cannot be too sentimental about players. Bettonelli was just not good enough and the proof of the pudding was his stint at Middlesboro. I like Rodak even more than Bettonelli but will he be good enough at prem level? This new goalkeeper will have plenty of prem experience which we will need if we get promoted first time of asking. I don't want to big him up too quick but Marco Silva looks to be making some good moves...

Hate to say it' but those Brentford brains are doing all they can to prove us wrong first time of asking in the prem. Some astute signings, especially the guy from Celtic will help their cause. We will look like dunces if they survive their first season in the prem. We can and we should do a whole lot better this time around. Fulham the oldest club in England? We really need to get our act together now...

You have to have at least three decent keepers as it is a position that only a keeper can field adequately. If you try risking only having two keepers they will both get injured at the same time. Which is the best of the three we have is up to the manager not a decision based on fans favourites.

Can’t understand these kids going at the earliest opportunity. They will get invaluable playing time in the first team at Fulham. They go to the big clubs to languish in the under 23s etc. No guarantee they will break into the first teams, I think most won’t. I accept they don’t owe the club loyalty, because let’s be honest if they weren’t that good they would have been let go without too much concern

The younger you are the more likely your are to listen to your agent when he waves huge levels of money at your. When you get older other things come into consideration. I am sure Mitro has been offered big bucks elsewhere but he and his family are settled in London, he loves Fulham and is earning enough money to set them up for life.

Interesting to see the vax promo of a guy who cannot get the order of a pen shootout right after 25 years! Has he looked at Israel stats on the waning efficacy of the vax to 10% after less than 6 months. Looking dodgy for the earliest fully vaxed country on the planet. I say keep your big nose out of what is good for our youth!

Latest Israeli research suggests a possible fall to 39% protection against infection but still a 90% protection against serious illness. Israeli scientists also earn that the study used a small test group and us therefore probe to greater error rates than previous tests.

Just checked my source on the Isreal Gov site and also the Isreal Times. Both confirm efficacy of 16% for those injected in January and around 10% for those jabbed earlier. Your figures are correct headline figures but we all know headline figures are not what is happening if you look deeper.

With the greatest of respects to U.S. businessmen, UK soccer is miles ahead of MLS. My knowledge of USA Football is negligable, as appears theirs is of ours? To have a successful and constant competitive team, Knowledge of the local game is required, FFC does not have this, it has an owner who has placed a family member into the one spot which determines the immediate future of the club. For this club's sake, appoint a very experienced person to be COO/Director of Football now, or risk losing finances at the behest of 'ignorance'? Names that come to immediate mind for our club would include: David Platt - Paul Merson and as a surprise Stuart Pearce. Any of these would have the insight, experience and knowledge to promote a team and stay within the division? As a fan from 1963 standing at Hammersmith end, it saddens me to see money running the club, not sound knowledge of our game!

Excellent signing in my opinion. Not sure how much TC can offer our squad with his knee anymore. Good to have a bit of flair and creativity from elsewhere. Despite kebano stepping up and owning free kicks a couple of years back, we have needed a good set piece take since Bullard/Murphy. Think it’s an exciting signing if confirmed and hope to see an upturn in form from some of the other players under silva. If no one else leaves, a centre forward, central mid and GK are still needed. Fingers crossed TK has it figured out this time.

I think it’s a bit unrealistic, O, but I’m so far away maybe you lot have a better read on the situation than I ever could. Zambo and Mitro are really our only good sellable assets. I suspect with our debts one or both would have to go to fund any other pick ups and better manage our debts. But looking forward to seeing what happens. Reed, Tosin, Robinson and Tete are still key for me. By the way don’t sleep on BDR. I think he’s gonna have a fantastic season for us.

I may have been dreaming, but I thought I heard on the radio that H Cain was leaving Tottenham and going to Man City. Thats ok then to hear he will be on 400k a week this is just getting silly. We are now got to a point where there are only 3 or 4 clubs that can afford these players, so the Prem will be 3 top clubs and the also rands. Football has been taken over by agents and greed. Very one of us is under pressure of one sort or another this is just wrong. No I am not jealous or envious , but all common sense is out the window. Can we ever expect to compete fairly????,

The Premier League has been absolutely ruined by money, and is has now turned into a replica of the Scottish Championship, where only two teams can win it,and therefore becoming totally boring. I agree that at least the Premier League has five or six clubs that can fight out for the title, at least until now, as not only are Manchester City buying Harry Kane, it appears that the next one to join them will be Grealish, so we might just as well hand the title now. Although of course I would like to see us make a quick return to the Premier League, I am convinced that whether we gain promotion or not, this coming season, the Championship will be a far more enjoyable experience, and it will be a far more open competition.

Alan B agree with all you said (all three times) I think this season will be more entertaining, at least we should go into each match knowing there is a decent chance of winning. There was all that uproar when the ESL was being mooted, saying it was greed by the few clubs involved and that those not involved was fighting on behalf of the fans. And the fans bought that argument; but when do you see a big new TV deal signed and some of the money going back to the fans through season ticket prices reduced. You don’t, it goes straight into the pockets of the players.

Actually, the Premiership has been ruined by Sky. They have taken over the fixtures and inform the clubs when they should play to suit their schedules. As for Harry Kane, Tottenham are rebuilding and they will learn to play without him. As for his showing in the Euros, he will definitely have to up his game, at the moment he is city's worse player. £400,000? I wouldn't pay him £400 until he proved himself. I’m not sure much has changed ,the money obviously ,but I’ve been a Fulham fan since 62/63 season …and the same few teams where up there at the top …the other 80 odd teams have never really been near them …occasionally a Leeds ,forest ,derby and recently Leicester broke through the ranks but it’s only ever been 5 or 6 teams in it …in the 60s when we took the field against untied or Liverpool we would be over the moon if we scrapped a draw !

Trust me' a move to Man City from Tottenham is a risky proposition for Kane. This is high risk because Harry Kane is just too big a profile player who will be haunted to death by the Spurs lot. Kane should know the risk involved and those bad vibes will follow him like a bad smell. A move abroad would have been a better option for Kane but what do i know? Harry Kane might be able to rise above the hate that will be coming is way if he makes that move? I know nothing...

With just a few weeks to go i dont see too much activity bringing in new players . We always seem to wait until the season has started before we sign and then have to spend a few more weeks getting them used to whatever system we have . Lets have some action in the market now .

I agree, but I suppose that we are better off than Swansea, who have just lost their manager, Steve Cooper.

If our squad stays the same I can’t see how we don’t get promoted, two of the best left backs in the division for eg keeper is quality mitrovic upfront plenty of centre backs and creative players in midfield and players who can get the ball back quickly. We are in a weird slot where our players are amazing in this division but crap in the premiership

If our players really play to their potential, we have a really cracking squad, even without any new additions, that is of course presuming that no player of any importance leaves.

I’m 62 years of age and supported Fulham since I was 12. To me Fulham and the Cottage was always a friendly welcoming stadium with nice people as fans. This is the first time I have posted on this site although I have visited for many months. Lately it has become toxic. 18 months ago I self identified as a woman. I knew for many years I was a woman in a man’s body and so I took the hardest decision of my life. Although my hair is now long I know I look like a man In woman’s clothing. I have been disowned by my wife and children and laughed at by my colleagues and passengers as a bus driver. I am not a transvestite I am a woman in a man’s body. I do not feel comfortable using women’s dressing rooms because I know it makes them feel uncomfortable. I have seen the contributors to this site turn racists and homophobic giving me fear that attending the Cottage next season could become an ordeal. You will never appreciate how hard it is; to listen to innuendo that I’m only doing it to gain access to women’s private places. I am a woman and at some stage will take the decision to have the op. Please, please consider what you are saying and the hurt you can cause through your contributions.

I for one would wish you well in coming to terms with your circumstances. You will, however, doubtless appreciate a possible skepticism that your post could be the work of one of our more devious contributors, who regularly cry foul and find homophobia and racism where non exists. I realise there is indeed these unfortunate predilections but would suggest no more than in society in general, I don’t think FFC is a hotbed of the flaws of which it is accused.

Tamzin, I welcome you to this board and think what you have written (and what you are doing in life) is braver than any of us will ever understand, especially the trolls on here who make jibes about race and sexual orientation at any chance they get. My big fear is that you have painted a target on your back on this board, and as you say, will not feel welcome at the cottage because of the type of fans who post on this forum (i truly hope I am wrong). I have been fighting homophobia on here for a couple of years now and have taken more abuse than anyone should, for perception that I was gay, when in fact, all I am is an ally - I can't imagine the sort of things you would have to go through. My first post was like yours, in reaction to a toxic message board. The whole reason was that this is a public board that all fulham fans should feel welcome using, and not feel discriminated against by reading posts alone. My fear was that there might be readers going down similar paths as you who do not feel like part of the fulham family. All the best and welcome to the board.

Cheap graphics like an 80s episode of Top of the Pops. Another example of the BBC foisting women's sport on the public, not because of its sporting merit as they claim but because it's all they can afford. A it less spent on Linekers wages and BBC3 and they might be able to help support the county game instead of this type of box ticking gimmick.

Have we any further thoughts on the next seasons campaign of knee taking, will points be awarded for the length of time players can maintain the knee or awarded for the style and flair of the knee taking. If so we may win games without a ball being kicked, I hope we have employed a knee taking coach.

I’m an ex Royal Navy rating and was a paramedic for 20 years. When I signed up for both I knew what I could be taking on. During the pandemic there were a small number of NHS staff in intensive care units etc working 12 hour shifts in full PPE. I respect them enormously; but that was their job, that’s what they signed up for. A lot of NHS staff were not effected; A&E departments were quieter and so were ambulance services, anecdotally, some of my ex colleagues said that when a shout came in it was often so quiet they were fighting over it. Most put on weight from the free pizzas. NHS staff have been offered 3% wage rise and say they deserve more because of the pandemic. I don’t think they do. The Country can’t afford it, supermarket workers, bus and train drivers, bin men, the list is endless and we couldn’t have survived without them. They would love to be getting the same. When the service personnel were fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq there was no clamour for a pay rise, because it was their duty and they knew what they were signing on for. The same goes for NHS, police and fire services.
Replies
All public service workers had a system based on comparison with commercial pay to fix pay awards. When this government came in , and ever since, they decided to clear government debt caused by banks being bailed out by cutting staff and freezing wages rather than by increasing taxes. As a consequence public sector pay has fallen way behind the commercial equivalent. A Tory government is never going to like the public service as they believe private enterprise can do everything.

TTIN the NHS pay and conditions are the envy of many in the private sector. The final salary pension they receive and job security many would give their right arm for. This was brought home to me when I took early retirement on a full pension and went to work for one of the largest bus companies. I could not believe how inferior it was to what I was used to. From staff representation to the way staff was treated and the pay and conditions. They had a final salary pension but had to stop it. I think people should actually look at nurses pay and see how it compares to the private sector especially after the massive Agenda for Change rise they had under Blair.

I'd actually like to see this expanded. Surely there's loads of room in the UK. I'd suggest that the 'bedroom tax' is abolished and all spare rooms are given over to these unfortunate Individuals. I'm sure working class families will be happy to share their homes with these vulnerable young parents and their children. The armed forces too can benefit, all those strapping grateful young lads only too willing to offer their services to the country that's taken them in. Unfortunately myself and Mrs O'Doors only have the box room which holds my collection of trainspotters monthly so we're unable to help.

Broadswords What I am suggesting is that the RNLI should not be in foreign waters bringing in the endless flow of asylum seekers which is estimated to be, if not stopped,80 to 100 thousand in 2021. With the amount of poverty recorded in the Uk at present charity must start at home.

Our first League match against Middlesborough is only a few weeks away can we start talking about that now and forget all this political stuff which is getting Fulham supporters very angry. As I have been for every season I am very optimistic about the months ahead. With whatever squad we end up with we will be much to good for most of the teams in this division starting with Middlesborough. It is also nice to have a home game rather the team on the first day back to work having to go to some remote part of this beautiful isle where some shouty northerners will offend our sensibilities and drive us to defeat.

Full employment father best part, able to get mortgages. I suppose they will respond telling me how hard they have had it. Don’t make me laugh! The biggest problem is that about 800 to a thousand illegal migrants are entering the country per week aided by the costal lifeboats that in many instances are picking them up only 2 miles from the cost well within French territorial waters. Although myself not an oldie that generation saved Britain some 70yrs ago ( FOR WHAT I ASK)

The biggest problem is that complete embarrassment in No. 10. How long has this country got to put up with someone who looks like Worsel Gummage, and used to have a sidekick who dressed like my local plumber. Soon as we're shot of the both of them the better. So who would you put in charge fa? Those nice socialist people who do not have a clue about the country and how to run it, or bring back Corbyn maybe? Or even elect that guy from Manchester who is thick and likes the sound of his own voice. Boris offered him and Manchester 60 odd million earlier on in the year and his reply was,'no' not enough! The twit had maybe worked out the maths for Manchesters budget in his head-space in a matter of seconds. Any sensible person would have taken the 60 million and thank you, and worked out the maths somewhere down the line and gone back to Boris with a worked-out plan on paper and where the extra money if needed. What a relief it is that Boris the clown and his mates running the markets actually keep the wheels of this country going. Some people still think that money falls from trees Pheeeww!!!!

Bringing a lawsuit is a very dangerous game as a judge will rule on what is true. Far better than everyone believes that Cummins is a liar and someone who is untrustworthy. Bringing a lawsuit could change that narrative. The more Cummins appears, the angry he gets, the more the narrative becomes true. He’s just damaged goods. He can’t stand how he has become so he keeps thrashing about and that just makes it funnier.

Typical of the old farts on this site. Had and enjoyed their youth so stuff today’s young. The youth of the 1940s fought so I could be free not have your generation take it away from us. If you old farts want to lock yourselves away, good, do it and let us get on living. And that includes watching Fulham without any mask wearing or other restrictions. I’m sure that if and when I get old I won’t ask the young to make sacrifices on my behalf

I have more respect for the youth of the Forties that fought for my freedom (which has been taken away) than the lot sat in wheelchairs and OAP homes today. How did they show their respect for their parents who had fought for them? They did it by becoming Mods and Rockers and going to the coast and causing havoc by having massive punch ups and ruining family holidays. The generation that we are saving, knew only one thing, enjoy life and take what you can

Well Teddy boy, that was a well considered response. I like the way you detailed how because of the we have protected the old, thousands of young people will have died of diseases such as cancer and heart problems that could have been saved by the treatment that they have been denied. How mental health problems and suicides amongst the young have rocketed. How the kids education has suffered beyond belief. And finally how pleased you are that my generation will be picking up the tab for the rest of our natural. It is a wonderful experience to enter into an intelligent conversation with one such as yourself. If you ever decide to put the thoughts of Teddy into print, I will certainly be obtaining a copy. Priceless!

I think most people appreciate what you went through, I was referring mainly to the Baby Boomers. But you must surely be in your 90s and you are saying that we should protect you at the expense of the young? Well if that’s your view then you are entitled to it. My own grandparents have different views. Throughout lockdown they carried on seeing and hugging their grandchildren. Their view was they got pleasure from that and they were not going to stop. They made it clear if they got a dose from them it was not the kid’s fault. I suppose there are two types of oldies, like yourself who feels you should be protected no matter what the cost to the young and those like my grandparents who were not going to hide away and wants to enjoy what life is left knowing that they had had a good innin

Moreover, we could have the players march out before the game in fluffy bird like costumes but this may prevented them getting on their knee for BLM... so maybe not.

Unfortunately due to various ailments unless I am taken by car, I am no longer able to travel Craven Cottage like I used to, which I miss terribly, but I still keep up to date by watching the Official Fulham website. Until last season, there was always a yearly charge for using Fulham's TV website, where I could watch interviews and match highlights. I have not had a charge, for a long time now, so I have been viewing everything for free. Can I please ask, if any fans that watch the official website has been charged lately, or has anyone heard from the club, about reinstating this charge next season ?

Before the upcoming season a couple of books anyone who's into football should read. If only they'd played in the black and white. Greatest Footballer You Never Saw: The Robin Friday Story by Paolo Hewitt and Pau McGuigan &!Charlie Tully Celtic's Cheeky Chappie by Tom Campbell. Compare these two to Southgate's ball scuffing non descript personality vacuums.

Doesn’t it depend on who leaves? Can’t see the point on buying for the sake of buying. The players on Fulham’s books are pretty much decent players. They start with a clean sheet with the new manager, who knows what he can get out of them. And let’s be fair he has only been in post a week; not really had time to assess what he’s got. Moreover, in this decision you can start slowly and still have plenty of time to recover

Jegs you can also start slowly, the rot sets in and not recover. Is it too much to ask to have a set squad before the first match and come out the gates running? The Khans should know by now who doesn’t want to be there. The risk for holding out for the best offers is having these guys sour the dressing room the next 6-7 weeks. Another risk our massive debt is forcing us to take.

Sadly, there will not be any quality players who will move sideways or downwards to the Cottage at the moment, not in great numbers enough anyway for a rebuild. Marco is going to have to call on all his skills to get the best out of the current squad,in my view. If he can do that, and we start looking like promotion candidates, even then not much might change as our recent history record is dodgy. Thankyou board ! Your lack of foresight in sticking with such an inexperienced coach for so long, will cost us for sure. I have every confidence that Marco can move us in the right direction. Let's hope that our board is as patient with him as they were with Scotty.

Break-even rule – valid during seasons 2020/21 and 2021/22

• the assessment of financial year 2020 is postponed for one season, and will be assessed together with the financial year 2021;

• the 2020/2021 monitoring period is curtailed and only covers two reporting periods (financial years ending in 2018 and 2019);

• the 2021/2022 monitoring period is extended and covers four reporting periods (financial years ending in 2018-2019-2020 and 2021).

• the financial years 2020 and 2021 are assessed as one single period;

Can to some degree with both perspectives here. Would be nice to have a back up striker, something the squad has needed for a couple of years. This could have been sorted by now. And I would agree that it would be unacceptable to only have a final squad after the start of the season. Last season we effectively wrote off the first 5/6 games. If Khan is learning then thats one sign we need to be looking out for.

Cottager, I for one don’t know the 3 or 4 players from last season who will be leaving, if it’s any of the loanees, they’ve already gone mate. If it’s any of our ‘permanent ‘ squad and you’ve got the inside track I would be grateful if you could let me know what to expect. Get the disappointment over sooner rather than later.

Now it's been accepted that politics has entered football would anyone object to further gestures being made before a football match kicks off that support other organisations or issues in main stream society, we could have half an hour before the kick off devoted to knee taking and other gestures yet to be decided upon for example cruelty to animals, child abuse, wife beating, bullying in the work place the list goes on, you never know it may be more entertaining than the game itself.

Taking the knee isn’t political; unless you genuinely believe that a stance against racism is a matter of politics. I, for one, think it’s about being a good human being

Good point Rm, being a good human being also extends to the above mentioned ie, bullying in the work place, wife beating etc, can we not embrace these issues as well and stand united against them before a game in some form of a gesture or are they deemed not important enough. Now we have started we may as well go on and highlight the many issues that blight our society, my point was would any one object to these other equally important issues being made a point of as the victims may well feel hard done by that they are not being championed by footballers who may have been victims themselves or have someone in their own families who have fallen victim to any of the abuses mentioned in my original post.

I think you might be on to something there. Certainly I think there should be some LGBTQ+ representatives invited onto the pitch prior to kick off. This might encourage some players to ‘come out’. Also apparently Travellers are a persecuted minority. They could have a caravan towed by a transit or such like carry out a circuit of the ground. But they must be encouraged to clear their rubbish up. Yes I think your ideas opens up all kinds of possibilities.

Well said Jegs I'm not sure about the towing of a travellers caravan around the pitch as they might decide not to leave then the actual game would not be able to be played, although the entertainment value would be priceless, but I like your point about the LGBTQ+ representatives being invited on to the pitch before KO that makes perfect sense to me.

See your point PPB about the travellers; but I think the courts are open on Saturday afternoons so it might be possible for the club to get a court order and a late kick off. I just want to see their plight recognised; because they are so misunderstood. I’m pleased you recognise the benefits of the LGBQT++ idea; perhaps a Gay Pride parade around the ground while the players are taking the knee. It would certainly give the match a carnival atmosphere.

Teddy, surely you can’t be right about Travellers camping when and where they like, then leaving their campsite like a rubbish tip and full of human excrement. I’ve heard stories that where they illicitly park crime increases, but surely that is just anecdotal. Taking over towns like Cromer and committing crimes such as assault and theft surely can’t be true, otherwise our wonderful police forces would step in, just like they did when Extinction Rebellion brought London to a halt. No Travellers are a protected minority, oops I should have said persecuted.

As far as I can tell, apart from online where identities can remain hidden, the majority of people support taking the knee. I heard many boos drowned out by supportive applause in the euros. By 'general public' im not sure you mean the majority of people but a loud minority. You certainly don't speak for me or the 99.9% of people I know that support the gesture and equality. Majority of people don't get wound up by a gesture that takes 5 seconds. So I'm afraid your statement of the 'general public' simply means 'a small portion of racists in this country that you identify with.' I would also consider the fact that the majority you refer to, would be white people. The vast majority of marginalised minorities would disagree with you too.

Don’t forget me. I’m quite old and I guess in some ways that are almost inevitable, I could be labelled racist. However, like so many people I’m quite benign and harmless. I don’t go around beating up people who are not of my ‘tribe’ advocating mass deportations nor even booing people taking the knee. I am however uncomfortable with these displays of solidarity from, I think, a relatively small group who find it necessary to impose their views on me and the majority of society. It seems to me they are the intolerant ones, like ODavid. We are all entitled to our views, ingrained as they can be after living 70/80years, but as long as I don’t incite hatred, in any form, I cannot see that I pose a threat to the wellbeing of others. If I were to be in a position to discriminate, ie. by refusing to employ some because of his ethnicity, I could be subject to public scrutiny otherwise it’s just my personal view or preference and I have the right, like everyone, to live my life as I choose.

So you agree your views are racist? Entitled to them or not, you agree they are racist? The problem is, it's not me saying there's no place for racism anymore, as much as everyone loves to believe that, it's the footballing world and community. There are a number of campaigns aimed at ridding football of racism. Football clubs do not need to accept your support if they deem you racist, regardless of whether you feel entitled to your views (which is why you post anonymously I'd guess). They are entitled to theirs too and thankfully they don't align with yours.

Leeds United of the Premiership are prepared to let Hector Costa go in their pursuit of David James, the Welsh wing wizard of Manchester United who is avaliable after the signing of Jaden Sancho. Maybe Manager Sari would fancy him - he's Portugese and a good player to boot. Who do you think we should be looking at - they ought to have Premiership experience. What about getting Joachim Andersen back in, he played well in the FIFA European Championships 2020 - remember them?

In case you missed it, we were relegated last season. Gonna have to adjust your aim quite a bit lower. Rumor mill been pretty quiet. Mostly our players being looked at. With three weeks to go, looks the mission is to hold on to what we got and hope the new manager can improve them in ways SP couldn’t. Got to keep Reed with us, then our young defenders. If we can get 15 mill each for Anguissa and Mitro, I might just do that. Need to see the clubs debts lowered. Seri out for a bag of balls. Still hoping for some good business.

I like Harrison Reed but if we are able to keep Anguissa in this league, we will be awesome! Reed possesses the swashbuckling qualities in the midfield, but Anguissa will be a nightmare for the opposition surging forward in this league. We will be good to go with the likes of Josh Onomah also, and beefed up with a few more acquisitions, Fulham with a more ambitious-minded Manager in Marco Silva can knit us together more than Parker could. I refuse to let rumors about the likes of Robinson going because i also think that Silva will step in and have a say and influence on who will go and who stays at Fulham. Marco Silva isn't stupid, he will know about Fulham and who ticks the boxes for Fulham last year. Silva may have had a year and some months out of football but he would have been watching the prem football. I get the feeling that Marco Silva could have gone someplace else, but he chose Fulham to see his way back into football. If we start well and we hit the ground running, my question mark on Marco Silva is, can he stay the course with Fulham? We need a manager who will stay the duration now and to build and establish Fulham into a permament prem outfit...

I know that there are others that we haven't seen in these updates, such as Harrison Reed and Bobby Reid, but they are genuinely missing because of in Bobby's case, International Fixtures, and I am led to believe that Harrison is still having slight injury problems, so their absence is not too worrying, plus Mitro being back which is good to see. You have no idea the rows that this has caused within the family. I am ashamed with them, and while this carries on, and there must be many families like this all over Britain, we will never get shot of this, what can be a very dangerous virus.

Malden Mick is right, there are a lot of families split on the jab or not too. The same dilemma is in my workplace which makes for a very bleak winter. Before the virus, if i was in hear-shot of anybody coffing with the dreaded lurgy, i was sure to catch it. I accept that covid is another version of a bad flu virus and we will be in for a hard winter for sure. Jab or no jab, this virus will mutate into something else and infect anybody who's immune system is weak. It won't kill most people but that's not the point. The little old lady behind you can catch it from you or anyone unknowingly. This is really the age of the selfish and no care for others. The 2 world wars were a waste of time and good people died for all and others to come. Jabs and vaccines have been around for decades and people used to que around the block to get vaccinated for a few viruses and small-pox and stuff like that. I briefly listened into a radio show on radio 4 doing my thing at work. I did not catch everything correctly but you get the gist from the old biddies who qued for their shots. Army people deployed abroad are given shots for different war situations on wherever they are deployed. Can you imagine given a shot for anthrax? We don't know what is in those vaccines but you take the shot and move on. Cricket players, you name it. The trick is to dig into granma's old chicken soup recipe, or even that vit D or whatever or even prayer to the Lord above before anything. Sometimes the old ways are the best remedies all above conspiracists and daft theories circulating on the internet...

The entire world is built on vanity at the moment. Everything is for show. Nothing is real. Why do you think I use a fake name? I want to wear a suit for a major organisation so my CV can be better than yours. Will I be happy? Of course not, but at least I can Tweet about it. Keep saying yes, folks.

Lionel Messi is having his wages at Barcelona halved so him will only be on £17m per annum this season.

by signing until hes 39 (5 year deal).... he'll probably play for another 2-3 years then retire and remain on the payroll and get 2 years wages.. they apparently in real finaicial trouble but this gets around it assuming Barca are not wound up by then :D

It makes good commercial sense; re gearing his ‘lease’ so that the annual running costs of hiring Messi are reduced; once he ceases playing, at least the Club can still benefit from other income streams, whilst his contract still runs on

He has probably earned 250 million in his career which is about the level of GDP of a lot of small countries.

TTIS... and? Are you cutting your salary to help fund the poor in Bangladesh? A penny of your wages would go quite far there.

I was absolutely delighted to see Mitro training with the rest of the squad today, giving me, and I hope the rest of us fans, a feeling that he will forgive the club as to how he was treated by Scott Parker, last season, and stay with us to help us make a quick return to the Premier League. He could be the difference between success and failure next season.

Yep' let's just move on from the none-show from Mitrovic and missed penalties and Scott Parker etc. Mitrovic is back and i hope with guns firing and lots of goals to take us back to prem. COME ON FULHAM!!!!!

Missed a last minute penalty at Slough Town tonight. The whole team should be hunted and shown no mercy. It was 1-1 if anyone's interested.

Treated badly? Don’t think so not up to premier standard, will do well in championship funny no ones come in for him. He was overpaid for what he achieved last season.

Mitro certainly is up to Premier League standard, providing that he is given the balls which would have given him the chance to score, which under the Scott Parker system, was never going to happen. Chief can you honestly say that Cav was a better striker than Mitro, but he was played match after match. I don't for one minute think that other clubs have been trying to sign him, but with just getting married, and from what we understand, he has settled here, and at one stage he stated that he was very happy playing for Fulham, so let's hope that is true, as it is still not too late for another club to come in for him. Fingers crossed that won't happen.

It must be rocket science. Surely you can't ec Xpect decent players to come to pay for Fulham. We have done our dash keeping Scotty there there so long to dig us to an even deeper hole. So sad. That makes it harder for Marco. But I am a believer and he will claw us back.

Looked up the team, and it appeared it was a mixture if youth and under 23 players but saw no inclusion of Mitro

You are hard on Parker, when Mitro played early last season he looked unfit and disinterested. He then got injured and by the time he was fit again Parker had come up with a way to play without a striker. The trouble was with Cairney unfit we were lacking any midfielder or striker who could score goals. Parker's system worked for a while but the were found out and stifled by the opposition. Parker perhaps should have tried building the team around Mitro again but he had probably lost faith in him as being our saviour. A new manager will review his attributes and having Mitro and Cairney fit at the beginning of this season is very encouraging.

Mitro had 2 seasons in the premier league and the same as Geoff Horsfield admitted he wasn’t up to premier league standard definitely same comparison.Mitro didn’t look fit or mobile enough to justify he’s inclusion or exclusion was in my opinion justified.

Do you know Chief I have a funny feeling that Mitro scored in International matches playing for Serbia. Isn't that strange ! !

That’s correct, they lost to Scotland and Mitro missed a pen so they didn’t qualify for the euros. Lost he’s confidence not knocking him been decent for us in the championship sure he will be this season.

The standard of teams Serbia play is about Championship. Most of the teams we watched in the European Championship were the Worlds best but some were Championship standard.
