Good goal, good win, good clean sheet and good three points but celebrating like we’d one the cup? I don’t think so. I truly can’t understand why so many contributors to this board think we’ve turned a corner. We had countless chances we did not take. We played a team that barely had a chance on goal and had no ambition to attack. My concerns have not diminished one iota. One misplaced pass and who knows what would have happened yesterday. All the same frailties are still there so let’s just give it another four games before we start calling Arbeloa the messiah please. I still think he should be replaced the sooner the better but I’ll eat humble pie if it turns out my concerns are misplaced. Time will tell (but not too much of it I hope).

Oh MST. Stop acting like a manager who won't change or make the right decisions. You are missing an open goal here.

I agree 100% with MST on this one. He doesn't need me to fight his battles but i will say as a fully paid up Fulham season ticket holder more than me and most on here, for Lazio to point fingers on who is or isn't a true Fulham supporter is down right out of order! We have a talented squad and it is down to the manager to hone that talent that see us perform to our best out there every week and the fact is we haven't showed up until yesterday and the truth is it could have gone so wrong but like it as in previous games but it didn't, thankfully. Most football people and pundits have stated the same concerns about Arbeloa and tactics with his iffy substitutions and that's a fact, its football. Lazlo' we all want Fulham and Arbeloa to do well so put a sock in it and roll on to the next game and we all move forward and put the negatives and insults behind us now. To Arbeloa' well done and keep on improving and PLEASE' NO MORE DAFT SUBSTITUTIONS THAT SEE US LOSE GAMES THAT WE SHOULD WIN!!!! Rant over!!!!!!!

MST, as usual, you have posted a most sensible article, and despite, no doubt some ridicule, I will have to agree with your assessment. Of course we are all delighted to earned our first win yesterday, it would have been an utter disgrace if we hadn't, as Hull were pretty awful, and we won't get an easier opponent, for the rest of the sesson. What disappoints me more than anything, is our consistent ways of throwing away games, which we should have won, and another 8 points on the board, would not have flattered us, but as pointed out by you MST, if we are not back in the bottom 3, after another 4 games, then we will have a good chance of survival, so let's just wait and see, with fingers crossed, and hope in our hearts.

Hi Owen. I am glad that you agree with MST who is a season ticket holder. However I stick with my own views, which will not waver and do not constitute an outrageous crime which you seem to be indicating that they do. In fact, my opinions are becoming stronger the more I see evidence of this oddly mannered and so called support which seems to be present within this forum from certain posters/poster. Please ignore my posts if you don't like them.

Have to agree with you MST, 100%. It’s a win but in the overall scheme of things not particularly signicant. Could still be in the bottom three come Monday morning.
The problems have not been resolved.

We will, as pointed out, probably be back in the bottom 3 by Tuesday morning, but at least not bottom this time, come what may. Sunderland are floundering this season, as I fully expected them to be last season. Considering that Man City, will probably be relegated, with their points deductions(11/8 favs with bookis)there will only be two places to fill, and if we aren't miles better than Ipswich, Hull, Coventry, Sunderland, Palace, and Forest, I will be really surprised. Why are so many people convinced that City will be relegated? Even a 50 point deduction will keep them comfortably mid-table at the end of the season. Many people thought Forest and Everton would be relegated and look how that turned out and neither of them have City’s political clout. Call me sceptical but I’m not convinced personally.

If you keep creating good chances we will score enough goals to win matches. If Cairney had been fit all season we would be in the top four.

I have to disagree with MST. Yes, our points return so far has been awful. Yes, AA still seems to make strange substitute decisions but it paid off yesterday. Yes, I agree should be more clinical and score more goals yesterday. But the good news is we are creating chances, unlike Hull who failed to have shot on target and maybe only came into our box 3 times in the hole game. Anyone, I don’t any one is celebrating here but maybe trying be positive and looking at the glass half full. There’s nothing wrong with that. Also, putting substitutes aside, would you not agreed the team have played very well this season, created chances and competed in all the games? So, AA must be doing something right. To kill him after 7 games is very naive. Yes, I understand sometimes we have to change if we can’t get off the mark but we have. Also, what managers would come to us if we sack the manager, presumably that’s your preference?? Dyche playing horrible football? Another untested manager from Europe? As a loyal fan I want AA to do well and as long as I can see and smell hope, I will look at the glass half full and hope he’s turned a corner!
