didnt he reject a move here last summer?. there was talk that he didnt think the club was good enough for him. has he suddenly changed his mind, or is it just another newsnow story?.

yes there is some paper-talk around Hojberg. Apparently we may abandon our pursuit of McTominay and go instead for Hojberg who by the way is a year older age 28 which is so very Fulhamish and typical of Fulham to go for the cheaper option. Talking about expensive, Man Utd to my shock horror are asking 40 mill for McTominay which is ludicrous and way over the top. I agree Hojberg was always on our radar last season and he wouldn't come then but roll on a year later maybe Hoji can see it all makes sense to come to our quaint cottage not that very far away from them up north London. How good is Hojberg? I like him and i rate him and i think he had a good tournament and he was one of the better players for Denmark, he can fit in nicely but we still need a big centre-half...

I am a really football fan, and a genuine Fulham supporter, and I enjoyed reading some of the postings on this site, and decided to contribute myself, but Im is getting to the stage of doing neither, as I'm fed up with this silly childish nonsense about Luke Harris, day after day. We have lost some very good contributers over the last few months, like MT, AC, and others, as this site, has become very silly. Personally I will give it one more chance, but anymore Luke Harris rubbish, and I'm off as well.

If we are still looking for a striker, according to this mornings press, Brentford are looking to getting shot of Toney, at a bargain price, as they no longer want him in their squad. He might be worth a punt at around 20k.

he would be the perfect signing for them. as they play the sort of game he has become accustomed to, he couldnt go wrong. at least until the end of the season. i wouldnt trust toney after all his misdemeanours, and he is coming up 29, so we wouldnt get the full outlay back.

I like Pereira but if true about the 42 miil, it might be a price worth paying. Pereira is a useful squad player and i say useful as in he seems to be our corner-kicker and he is quite a good link-up player but not prolific on the goals department. Let's face it, Chelsea might appeal to someone like Pereira who is fashionable with his nice hair-cuts. Put him and Chelski together looks a lot more trendy and fashionable more than Fulham and thats how i see Pereira who is still young and very ambitious. We need stability and loyalty and Pereira looks a profile and player that will move on to better and bigger things, i could be wrong and Pereira will stay at Fulham? That would be a surprise!!!

Fulham goalkeeper George Wickens has opened talks to join Lincoln City, sources have told Football Insider. The 22-year-old has been given the green light by Fulham to leave the West London club and pursue opportunities elsewhere. League One side Lincoln City have opened talks with Wickens and hope to lure him to the club and provide competition for current ‘keepers Jamie Pardington and Sam Long. The Cottagers are looking to offload Wickens as soon as possible and earn some cash to help improve their squad elsewhere. Wickens is said to be open to the move having not yet made a senior appearance for his boyhood club. Standing at 6ft 5in with a remarkable range of movement, Wickens has climbed up the youth ranks at Fulham but is yet to make an impact on the senior team. He has enjoyed loan spells at National League outfit Wealdstone United and Scottish Premier League club Ross County, making 40 and 13 appearances for each club respectively. Wickens has also featured for England at youth level, turning out for both the Under-16s and Under-18s. After an impressive League One campaign in which Lincoln finished 7th, the Imps are looking to capitalise on a strong end to their season and improve their squad.

Unfortunately, tom 30 mill seems to be a meagre amount for a player these days. McTominay is age 27 now and think Man Utd will sell him now before his out of contract next season. McTominay is rated and was on West Ham's radar last season as well as Newcastle. I believe that 30 mill was turned down last season i think he will be sold now. How good is he? McTominay is strong and he has a good engine and just like Iwobi who we didn't particularly fancy, i think McTominay will fit in nicely. Where are all the McTominay supporters? Last season we couldn't shut them up! We would still need much more than McTominay and a decent centre-back is vital...

The 27 year-old has scored eight goals in 55 games for his country and has less than two years remaining on his current Craven Cottage contract. Fulham are not open to selling the former Liverpool winger – even if reports in the Dutch press suggested that Ajax head coach Francescoli Farioli has identified Wilson as a second summer signing following the arrival of Bertrand Traore. Here we go again, or should I say, here we don't go again, and the question is why ? Why aren't we starting to put a squad together, with no real signs of signing anyone, apart from silly rumours, which have absolutely no substance. Despite paper talk, I will be really surprised if we sign Smith Rowe from Arsenal, or Andre from Brazil, as despite our good intentions, for some reason or other, good players don't seem to want to join us, as if the are lowering themselves, not appreciating that we are a good solid Premier League side.

I don't care what colour or creed Chalobah is, the point here is, is he any good? The answer is a no from me and he would be a poor sub to take over from Tosin. There is no presence in stature about Chalobah and the audacity of the man to say he wouldn't want to come to Fulham. His brother is a failure and Marco saw him as an important cog in a wheel for a while and then we wised up. Chalobah does not even feature that highly for Chelsea and we need to aim our sights a lot higher than him. A centre-back is the backbone of a team and if we don't get this detail right, we will be in for a long hard season and a possible relegation battle. I can't stress how important a season this is and we need to nail it concerning replacements, nuff said!!!!!!

Unfortunately, I am a pessimist whilst my son is an optimist. Before the Euro’s started I was of the opinion that we would not proceed far once the knockout games started which I posted on this board which proved to be wrong. My son, maybe a dreamer, thought England were in with a chance and flew to Germany for each match returning home the following day. More by luck than ability England finished top of their group resulting in the good fortune of being in the weakest group. We then got lucky against Slovakia with a last minute equaliser and scoring the winner in extra time. This was followed by winning a penalty shootout against Switzerland which brought us against the Netherlands a difficult match, made even more so, when we conceded an early goal. However, for some unknown reason, VAR came to our rescue by telling the referee to check the monitor for a foul on Kane and he subsequently awarded a penalty which I and most referees would have treated the incident to be a block rather than a penalty. Then Watkins was brought on late in the game and scored in the 90th minute. Southgate inability to pick a balanced team and failing to bring substitutes on and neveruntil late in the game was one reason for our failure. To select Kane, who was suffering from a back injury, was stupid and both Kane and Southgate are equally to blame. In 1962, Johnny Haynes suffered a serious car accident and he missed most of the season. When he returned he soon regained his form but was never quite as good and never played for England again. Alf Ramsey asked George Cohen his opinion on Haynes to which he gave an honest reply which brought to an end an illustrious International career. In my opinion, Kane should have told Southgate he was not fit enough to play a hectic programme of International games and Southgate, knowing of Kane’s injury should not have included him. Apart from this, Southgate chose an ill balanced side with Bellingham and Foden both wanting to occupy the same space, whilst Rice was continually left floundering causing the other defenders having to cover and there by leaving space for Spain to exploit. Southgate’s negativity encouraged even the weakest teams to attack whilst we played Parkerball. A new manager is needed now to restore the England team to a vibrant attacking side with genuine wingers prepared to stay wide to provide the three strikers with bold crosses into the area rather than the present system of four attackers all bunching together and getting in each others way. We have some of the best players in the world but not the best manager by a long chalk. I would like to publish my son’s comments on most of the knockout matches and in particular the final but someone would report me to the PC Brigade which would result in a hefty fine or community service.
Replies
This is a fair assessment of England and my only question on Harry Kane is, why was he playing so deep? Even Shearer questioned that one and most must agree that a target-man outside of the box area will not get you goals. Kane versus Mitrovic for a sprint upfield from deep? I think Mitro would beat him every time and Mitrovic is not the quickest...

Lets be honest ... England went so far for the past 3 tournaments due to the luck draw nothing to do with football ... if we had face harder oppositions we would have been eliminated earlier ! Spain was the second strong team that we have played in the whole tournament and that was in the final !!!

What is it with us when it comes to buying ?, forrest are doing usual and buying on mass, not that it helped them to much before but at least they had players to sell and get money in .

good to see that someone is looking into the reality of the situation more deeply- no, not you archie. other clubs may be rushing out and buying players, but are they actually any good?. the forest method is one that was adopted here not so long ago, and it resulted in our last relegation, and the club was left with a stack of players, that couldnt be offloaded, i do believe it is best to wait for the right player to come along- i am sure marco silva knows who he wants, and hes not going to tell all and sundry. i have faith in his judgement, regardless of some of the posters on here. as corporal jones said, dont panic!.

I was really sorry for England not to be able to beat Spain last night in the Euro Final, a good effort. However, not good enough. Spain were good from back to front and from front to back.. Maybe England who have got the stars to perform will learn and maybe take a leaf or two out of the current Spanish style of play.. Congratulations and well done Spain..

Looking at the end result from the other side I completely disagree with the british press pardoning Southgate prior to the final kicking off and making fans believe that because the final was reached this had been a heroic achievment, even though England did leave their best performance for the final act. It was in fact a miracle they got there. Southgate is boring, plays square continuosly and has no idea how to get the best out of some extremely talented England players. He put name before form and payed the consequences. Not to see palmer or Watkins in the starting line up was a breather to the Spanish whos only complaint of their own team selection was their own C F Morata who was as much os target as Trumps marksman. I would like to add a final comment which I think some of the older generation as myself may go along with. Spanish expectations before euro 24 started were virtualy nil.The team everyone is praising today had played dozens of absolutely useless friendlies which although positive in results were of little value as preparation. The team was built in Germany. What is the point of qualifying and playing friendlies that do not demand effort as most are against 3rd level countries just to keep the tv companies happy

We have a reputation for being a nice club that plays good football but is soft at defending which i could live with and be happy but i doubt it now because our site is sinking fast. To watch England or Fulham i would rather watch Fulham but i still would like to hear and see England winning. I don't care if England fields too many foreign players as some people put it and that's just being mild and equally i don't care if Fulham fields too many foreign players so long as they are good players. Spain do not have the best attitude and reputation regarding their black players sometimes but one thing is certain, they are ecstatic and really buzzing that they have won again another Euro Cup and one of their best player is Nico Williams. Nico Williams or the Welsh guy Neco Williams? I know who i would rather have at Fulham. Do you think Athletic Bilbao will sell him to Fulham? Marco Silva over to you mate, go' go sign Nico Williams!!! 'Er' is Williams Spanish? Answers on a postcard. The name 'Williams' i mean folks!!!

Maybe Kenneth Williams? We could just about afford him. Can hear him organising the defence, ‘Stop muckin’ about!’ Calling the Physio on, ‘Ooh Matron!’ Finally Owen you’ve posted something I can get excited about. ‘Infamy, infamy…………..’

Once again, England reach a major final, and once again, when we get there, we hit the buffers, and can't get over the line. The bookies were right in the end, as the first and second favorites for the tournament, did reach the final, while Germany, France and Belgium, went home early, and England did what they failed to do, and reached the final. I would point out however, that had Southgate been the Manager of Spain, England would have been the winners, as Gareth, made mistake after mistake in team selection, and his number one error, and we could all see it, was playing players out of position from the start, and continually picking an out of form Kane, match after match, so GS, just has to go before any further internationals are played, and before the FA, give him accolades for just reaching the final, and losing again.
Replies
Now Southgate is coming out with the excuses saying Kane was carrying a back injury but still he played him in every game even though we had fit forwards in Watkins and Toney. Gordon was wasted warming the bench he would have given us an attacking option on the wing. I agree if Southgate had been the manager of Spain England would have won. He’s a lovely bloke but the way he sets the team up is too negative and incredibly boring to watch even the players seemed confused as to what they were doing sometimes.

LTS' we hit the buffers but so did every other team except Spain who are brilliant and the reality is that they have the absolute best training camps in Spain. How many times have we heard the stories about Spain only having two teams, Barca and Real Madrid yet they win these big tournaments time and again, 4t times now i believe? Southgate is a more reserved character and they say defensive and boring yet we finish 2nd to Spain and the best finish comparing to the Great Bobby Robson, Terry Venables, etc etc. I listened to Sir Geoff Hurst who knows what a win is in a major final and i agree with him totally that Southgate and England have come a long way and i think Southgate should continue why not? Who do we give the job too Scott Parker? Sometimes we have to be realistic and accept and hope the future is up and up. We have the same deluded thoughts at Fulham where some fans think we should be winning titles but we sell our best players year after year so no way, not a chance! Our team has lost Tosin our best centre half and Palhinha who are the spine of the team and we might even lose Robinson if we are not careful. How can we ever build a winning premiership squad.

I want to win so bad it hurts... This is out of character for Gareth Southgate to come out and say this and i would have preferred that he stayed schtum and not said anything about a win or anything like that. Roy Keene was right in that he says that Southgate should concentrate on winning the game against the Dutch again not for the history, leave history until you make history i say then write a book. Saying that i suppose it is hard to keep your feelings intact and it can't do any harm to show your feelings about the biggest game in your career and managerial history, can it? Anyway, good luck England and bring it home Gareth!

rob, while the board is free to access, annoying posters like scout, dean, and all the other brentford so-called fans will come on here, spouting their drivel and tell lies about fulham. its because they wont register on their site, or maybe they are banned, which is more likely. i saw a suggestion on here the other day, by mastos, suggesting reverting to a register system. now, there arent many free sites about nowadays, and this one was once one to admire. now, it is full of cut and pastes, niggly, hateful remarks, even by our own crowd, and this stupid, repetitive obsession with luke harris, which has gone on far too long.i believe that drastic action needs to be taken before the whole thing destroys itself. registration could be the only way to restore the board to its former self.

Now we come to the serious part of the transfer, and just who we are going to spend the money on, to strengthen our side. There have been so many names banded about, but nothing official so far. I will be very surprised if we manage to Get Emile Smith Rowe from Arsenal, as I feel that he is reluctant to join us, as he doesn't consider us good enough for his talents. The next couple of weeks will see just where we are going, and are we being serious about being a very good Premier League club, or will we let this opportunity slip away again.

Agree. It must be said Marco has transformed yet another individual into a top player.

brian, nothing will happen until next week, when the euros are done. too many rumours are repeated on here mostly from newsnow- scout lives off them. i am sure that marco has listed his players , its just that too many on here are too impatient, and it was the same last year. the new signings will come, theres plenty of room for them.

The Club can confirm that João Palhinha has joined Bayern Munich. He departs for an undisclosed fee, but one that could end up being the largest ever received by Fulham Football Club for a player. Palhinha arrived at Fulham in 2022 from Sporting Clube de Portugal, and helped the Club enjoy two successful seasons which included a top half finish in the Premier League, and a first ever League Cup Semi-Final appearance. We sold Mitro for £51m and that was the record.

AC Milan have registered their interest in signing Fulham’s Scottish under-21 international defender Ibane Bowat, according to the Athletic’s Peter Rutzler. The talented centre half, who has been with the Whites since making the switch from Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2017, has impressed in two loan spells in continental football after helping Steve Wigley’s side win promotion back to the PL2 top flight. The 21 year-old made sixteen appearances for Dutch second tier side den Bosch in 2022/23 before having an outstanding season with Austria’s TSV Hartberg last year. The Austrians, for whom Bowat played 34 times, were interested in making the move permanent but a deal hasn’t materialised. Bowat has a year left on his current Craven Cottage contract, with Fulham holding a year’s extension option.

We only take the old and infirm so why should we be interested in our own youth. Why don't we employ old Joe Biden to our scouting staff, about the age of Talbot.

The usual bollox from Snout. Murphy at FFC wasn't half the player Palinha is/was. Got lucky with a goal once but beyond that not much.

Sorry if Murphy was that good probably Liverpool would have kept him or another big club such as Bayern would have taken him ... sorry to disappoint you guys ... as we can see Palhinha is 10 x better and is going to Bayern Munich a team in a higher raking than ours beloved Fulham !

If JP was that good a top 6 team in this country would have bid for him but they didn’t so off he goes to warm the bench in a 2nd rate German league !

People here makes me laugh ... for those who do not know ... Bayern Munich has 6 titles in the European Cup/UEFA Champions League 1973–74, 1974–75, 1975–76, 2000–01, 2012–13, 2019–20

Danny was coming to the end of his career and he was a great leader and inspiration to the team so I would have to say Danny had a greater impact for our team
