With West Ham losing at home to Villa, and I know that it is still not halfway through the season, and a lot can happen, but already being 7 points behind us in the table, and we have a better goal difference, it means even at this stage, every time we win one game, the Hammers would have to win three to pass us. If we can avoid defeat there in a couple of weeks it will help.

I hope Leeds beat the Sunday side this evening.

Fabio, is not even on the bench today for the Bees. If he is not injured ,then that's a bit of a come down from being in the Liverpool side, at one time.

West Ham are an escaper so we cannot expect them to be relegated. We must keep winning but losing three of our best players to the African championships will not help unless it gives others the opportunity to prove we will not miss them. I am an optimist, but can logically say we will not be relegated.

ESR and Harry Wilson saved the day yesterday! The rest of them were a shambles ! Possibly the worst passing performance for many a year …awful !
Thankfully Burnley are bang average so we got away with it big time !
Couldn’t understand taking any of off the AFCON bound players off when their replacements could have got injured and we’d be even more players light !
Anderson will have to step up big time while Bassey is away …looking forward to seeing Cuenca come in who I think looks promising.
Good luck to the lads Wednesday night at Newcastle and should be an interesting team selection !
COYW !!

West Ham are not relegation fodder and they can spend big whenever they feel it necessary. When have we ever thrashed them? They have more of an history for winning than we have and we shouldn't underestimate them and Bowen. Chucka is a better prospect and player than our big buy Kevin who we spent a king's ransom on and we could well live to regret not signing him. It is so easy to turn a players mind to signing for a bigger club so don't think it is a given that we have Chucka who will be off to the African Nations. We throw scorn on the Africa games but it is a showcase bigger than ever for African players to show their skills and Chucka looks the type to light up a tournament. I sincerely hope our big money signing Kevin is more than a dribbler who runs into cul-de-sacs
because we have too many over the years. They run dribble and no end product but we live in hope with Kevin. Our defensive issues should not be too problematic in the absents of Bassey as some rightly say we have Cuena. We also have Castagne who looks a better left back than we ever thought so lots of options.

Behind us Can’t see us losing three on the trot and them winning the same bottom two are gone if you think they will survive you probably think father xmas is coming down your chimney pot and paddy is making a sizeable donation to the lifeboat fund ( only kidding paddy I’m your biggest fan )

Pointless, Epitombi, has a point, inasmuch as we would have to lose 3 games on the trot, while West Ham, were winning 3 games on the trot, what odds would the bookies give you on that happening. West Ham will never in a month of Sundays win 3 games on the trot, and even winning 3 games out of 8, would be quite an achievement for them, however pointless could be right, as we have already lost 4 on the trot this season. However that is very unlikely to happen again. Two of those games were Arsenal 0-1, and Newcastle 1-2, and we were so unlucky, not have got 2 points from those games.
