I love pace and pace men and those footballers usually catch my eye first and i sometimes forget the guys who do the gritty stuff which is just as important. Thanks to mwk for pointing out Lukic and Berge who have formed a tight and knit together partnership which is our fortress blocking and snuffing out danger etc. Even Lukic might have made motm for his blocks, passes and assists and 'wow' that shift of play and shot from his wrong foot was amazing and he didn't score because their goalie played a blinder and even he could have been motm. If that was Traore's best game in a Fulham shirt, i think Lukic's was close to being the best and i would go as far to say that was Lukic's best game in a Fulham shirt and guy's, only 8 million can you believe it. Smith Rowe i think should venture much more into a strikers position from deep and it is all about timing and i think he is finally getting the program. SPURS ALERT GUYS!!! They will sack the Aussie sooner or later and apparently, Marco Silva and name is in the pot for management. We shouldn't be surprised or alarmed about that, Marco is a genius and we need to keep him...
Replies
The early days of both Lukic and Berge playing together looked static boring and not too creative i was thinking and i never envisage them playing together as a partnership but again, i was wrong! Just think Ljunberg and Pires but more of a defensive-mid role if that makes sense? Both Lukic and Berge could well be the partnership find of the century football world and they didn't cost the earth. Marco is truly a genius...

Lukic was recommended to us by Mitro another good thing he has done for us. I agree our defensive midfield combination is brilliant. They and the defence prevented Forest from producing hardly any effective attacks

What a superb win against Nottingham Forest. The problem is our team is he oldest in the league. We should now use this excellent season to reinforce for the future. I would like Fulham to sign Laim Delap, currently playing for Ipswich Town and scoring goals in a side that is probably already reglated. The other bright prospect is Tyler Dibble who is 18 and currently playing for Southampton FC ditto the remarks about Ipswich. I do not know about Luke Harris at Birmingham but apparently Jay Stansfield picked up the ball in the second half beat two players and scored a wonder goal playing against Charlton Athletic to win the game 1 - Nil. Hope we sealed a sell-on clause so if he gets transffed we get a payaday.

We were exceptional yesterday, continue that form until the season end and we could well finish in the top four. Get a 20 goal plus striker in the summer and we could be fighting for more than 4th place.

All is not lost and the attitude of the players yesterday was that of a team with a goal to reach.6 points for the taking next 2 games .Normally i wouldnt count on it as fulhamish performances are guaranteed after games like yesterday. Hopefully statistics will prove me wrong as we cant always blow it.

Just wanted to say' if there was one man anybody would want near them in the trenches, it would be Calvin Bassey. Well done to him for his first goal of the season and i wouldn't dare to blame him for that flee-flick of an own goal which is more Chris Woods. Bassey is awesome and we love his celebrations when he nicks one. Bassey had a nightmare of a start for Fulham and one could have questioned why on earth we got him but Bassey has grown game after game after and i would not part with him for 70 million and i think Marco will have the same sentiments. What are we on now 39 points? I would be very surprised and shocked if we don't make a euro-spot, we are the Barcelona 'B' team, we are awesome!!! COME ON FULHAM!!!!!
Replies
Forest were just lucky with that equaliser, which was a clear deflection off a defender and against the run of play. Why is that, when you see a nick like that, you know it’s going to be a goal? it just curls around or over the keeper, and in.

There have been more thrilling wins, but from minute 1 to minute 90, we were the better team with very few real opportunities for Forest. One bad moment from Bassey aside, we dominated possession, chances, shots. This could have been 4-1 or 5-1 with better finishes. Great win for us. Smith Rowe looks in good shape finally. Team was very fluid in possession today.

Completely agree, we really didn’t look like losing today, one mystifying moment for me was when Willian instead of passing the ball into the Forest net chose to back heel the ball, strange.

Owen, I don’t often disagree with you, until now, Willian was 6 yds out from goal wth the ball at his feet, he could have passed the ball into the net, instead decided to back heel the ball instead, it seemed a very strange thing to do especially with the goal gaping, I’ll have another look later on MOTD

I cannot think of any player including the used subs who did not give of their best. It was a terrific performance, shame we did not destroy them in the first 30 minutes of the match, when they were swamped by our superiority.

Yes' our best and most complete game, show and win of the season for me and the best from Traore. I know he didn't score but his game was complete and satisfactory for me. Traore was on target for everything and i would be very surprised if he wasn't motm. I would have kept him on personally but i am not the manager and Marco Silva is never wrong, well, not in this game lol...

We have thrown so many points away this season, the impressive way we held onto the 2 1 score changes everything and I expect us to finish the season in the top four. Incidentally two of the lads who were yesterdays mascots were brilliant result forecasters.

Agree with you, Owen. Adama Traore was my man of the match too. It’s not just his blistering speed, but at last we have someone who can put in good crosses (it has been missing from our game). The top PL places look filled, except I think 6th place is very much up for grabs. Anything could happen amongst some teams there where form varies a lot. For example, how can Chelsea, who fail to get even a shot on target recently, expect to get into Europe?
posted by peterjeremy - Sunday 16th February 2025, 9:51 AM

Traore also provided one of the best enjoyable moments you could have in football when he showed his explosive and raw pace to beat Nico Williams who had a start out of the blocks on him. Just think what they could do with him in American football? Khan missed a trick there. Marco Silva has gotten a reputation for making good of Traore and lots of players that don't quite cut the mustard for other teams and i think that Fulham provides a decent place and refuge and improvement for those that haven't reached top grade...

I'm regularly getting astounded, as to how Marco has the magic touch of turning also ran players from other clubs, into top class, and team players at Fulham. Players that a lot of us have criticized, like Muniz, Jimenez, Iwobi Lukic, Willian, and the much maligned waste of money Emile Smith Rowe, who under Marco's tender care will be worth every penny. Thank goodness our genius of a coach could see beyond our supporters wishes, and set about, in his own good time, turning those players and our team into a really good Premier League side, with still an outside chance of a European spot next season, and if we can overcome the hurdle of Manure United in the FA Cup, maybe even a glimpse of Wembley. Yesterday I must admit I was a bit nervous when playing Forest, but we outclassed them for the majority of the game, and this is a team with a tremendous away record. I was so happy on the way home, in fact I was buzzing. COYW

Fulham leading one nil, completely in charge, Forest lob the ball into the Fulham area, only three players in the area, 2 Fulham players and 1 Forest, the Forest player allowed to score, typical Fulham, Bassey stands still and allows Wood to pick his spot, poor defending, With the chances Fulham made in the first half they should at least be 3-1 up, let’s hope they have better luck in the second half
Replies
I would rather say a typical piece of brilliance by Wood got that goal as it was his clever movement that confused our two defenders. Most goals are a result of defensive mistake a few a by players skill.

Unless we set up an attacking formation we will lose this game as Forest always attack from the outset. However, they were thrashed by Bournemouth a couple of weeks ago and hopefully Marco has shown the video of this game to our players. My big concern is Andersen, who gives the impression he does not want to be at Fulham. To me he is just going through the motions and his cynical fouls will get him banned on accumulated yellow cards and I would not be surprised if he is eventually red carded. Smith-Rowe, whilst a gifted player, has seldom justified his transfer fee and needs to become more involved. I am sure Muniz will be involved at some stage but Marco will probably start with Jimenez. Our defence needs to be alert to the threat down the flanks as this is the where Forrest excel and they provided the ammunition for Chris Wood who is in excellent form. In addition, the wide men can score goals as Forest break quickly whilst their defence has conceded fewer goals than any team bar the top two. The five goals Bournemouth put pass them stopped them from having the best record. Provided we are brave and Marco does revert to a defensive set up we have an opportunity to restore some pride to our poor home record. However, I continue to worry about Andersen’s attitude.

Forest are a counter-attacking team who take advantage of the opposition giving the ball away.

There is not a lot that Marco Silva or Nuno Espirito will not know about each others game play and this is a mouth-watering game for the neutrals. Marco will know the dangers from an inform Chris Woods Gibbs White etc and they can always bring on another potent striker in Taiwo Awoniyi who is a useful sub. We will need a strong Bassey and Andersen to stand up strong in defence for sure and of course we have our present dangers and main route of attack firmly down that left side where we know Robinson and Iwobi will unleash hell and we need much more from some of ours in this game for sure. There is no still no Tete to balance off on the right and i think Marco will make use of Traore right sided to keep Forest busy for sure. We can expect to see a cameo role for Willian at some point and maybe from the start, depending on how Marco is set up and thinking. If there is one player we would like to see turning up it would be a back to form Smith Rowe and i would like to see or recollect what a back to form or in form Smith Rowe can conjure up. I really think the secret to beating Forest is to keep ball and believe it or not the antics and slow play from Leno can help us to brake the rythum of a rampant and free-scoring Forest who took a very good Brighton apart by thrashing them 7-0 and we know they have a bite-back reaction in their recent result by beating Chelsea 3-0. If we can hog more of the possession that will brake up their rhythm and we take our chances we can win this home tie. The big talk on here is about Josh King who is a decent future prospect and he brings a decent set of dribbling skills to the table but i would like to see more control in this game and i think Godo is the man who can see a gap run and deliver a half decent pass into the danger area for a Muniz or Jimenez to latch onto. What a game in prospect. I think game of the day and match of the day. COME ON FULHAM!!!!!!!
Replies
I got my post right apart from Godo not being on the bench i think. This is the way how to beat good attacking sides like Forest. Take possession, slow the game down, break up their rhythm, be clever going forwards and we win! Why take Traore off is a mystery when he caused havoc down that right side all afternoon and he was unlucky not to score, a decent game from Traore. I just wish we would put the game to bed earlier on with all that possession. It is scandalous to have all that keep-ball possession like that the amount of chances like that to come away with nothing and it makes a nice change to see the game out intelligently. It was almost the perfect game for Fulham and yes we are one of the smallest clubs around but we play one of the most expansive football around England now more than ever. In fact, i am not sure we will keep hold of Marco Silva if a bigger club comes in for him. I think the 6 million a year they pay him might not be enough to keep him and a big pay-rise is due Mr Khan!!!!!!!!!

I must disagree with you with regards to Michael Oliver, as he is the best referee on our list. If you watched the Everton v Liverpool match the other night, you would have seen that he had a first class game, with no egos at all, and no other referee on our panel, could have done any better. All referees make mistakes on occasions, and they hate it when they do. I finished up after my career, as a referee assessor, sitting in the stands watching others doing their best. Yes some failed to make it, but the majority were really good. It's a long journey to reach the top, and you you don't become a Premier League referee overnight. The hardest bit is when starting out on junior and park football, and you often receive abuse from parents, and then crowds when getting on to the county lists. We lose quite a lot of budding young lads, and girls during this period. So why not give it a go.
posted by THE CRAVEN (Guest) - Saturday 15th February 2025, 11:31 AM

You are so right Craven, that young lads of 15/17 just starting out receive so much abuse from players, parents and club officials that they leave. In most Saturday/Sunday football leagues there is a serious shortage of referees and this is mainly due to the abuse young referees suffer. They turn up in all sorts of weather and it is no joy going to Hackney Marshes, Wormwood Scrubs and similar awful pitches when it is freezing cold and/or raining. I know, I have done it and have also sat on many disciplinary committees and was appalled at some of the cases.

Like me, I suspect many you are sick and tired of the increasing major roadwork around south west London (probably everywhere!). For whatever reasons, rather they come and finish the work quickly, each of these roadwork projects seem to take 9-12months. No idea why it takes so long. Creating complete nightmare for commuters and residents. I looked at some of these projects on the TFL website. one thing is common is the hours they work on these projects to in their words limit impact. "Contractors will be working Monday to Friday 8am-5pm and Saturday 8am-1pm. We believe that this is the most efficient way of delivering this scheme whilst limiting disturbance to nearby residents". WHAT??! Surely, if they want to limit impact avoid rush hours or limit overlap - say hours 10am to 7pm or 5am to 2pm. Any other countries, they'd be working overnight! Rant over! I blame Khan for allowing this!

I have to admit, its been funny watching Spurs' season collapsed like many of their games. I am almost sorry for their fans. Actually, no I am not. But it isn't funny anymore. They are probably one or two games away from sacking their manager. What is not funny is there is a high chance they'd come for Marco. If Nunes never managed (and failed) them before, they'd gone for the Forest manager. But otherwise two men on their short list I'd imagine is the Bournemouth manager and Marco. And it isn't funny anymore if we could lose our Genius. So can I ask all Fulham fans to cheer for Spurs this weekend!

I’m not too sure if Marco, who is respected and doing well with Fulham, would welcome any approach from Daniel Levy. As is pointed out, Nunes has done well recently with Forest having been once fired by Levy, who has never been the easiest chairman for managers to work with. If you have a decent job, as Marco has, then stick with it. Only if a manager is out of work and looking should they be tempted by Spurs.

I am sure Marco can see what he can do with Fulham why would he risk losing his reputation at Spurs. Loose a few games and he would be sacked.

As a neutral, I struggled to recall a Fulham youngster who had progressed through their academy and established themselves as a first team regular. A quick back and forth over WhatsApp with a BBC colleague helped identify a consistent trend. Those who do emerge are quickly snapped up by 'bigger clubs'. Patrick Roberts was in and around for the first team for two seasons before Manchester City came calling for the teenager in 2015. Harvey Elliott, at just 16, made three senior appearances in 2019 before transferring to Liverpool. Neither player was at the club long enough to hear the chant 'he's one of our own'. Fabio Carvalho was. His breakthrough 2021-22 campaign was in the Championship, during which he scored 10 goals and provided eight assists, helping Fulham secure promotion to the Premier League. After just one season the 19-year-old also opted to head north to Anfield. The poster boy example from a Fulham perspective would be Ryan Sessegnon, who after making his debut as a16-year-old, subsequently went on to score 25 goals across 120 appearances, before a club record transfer sale to Tottenham during the same summer in which Elliott also left. The evolution of Sessegnon, who re-joined the club this season, is a clear outlier. Fulham fans will be hoping their latest diamond to surface, Josh King, bucks the trend demonstrated by the majority of those previously outlined. As with most young players who regularly find themselves amongst a Premier League match day squad, their technical ability goes without question. Yet watching on during Saturday's FA Cup win over Wigan, the aspect which immediately stood out to me was he simply didn't look like a teenager making only a second career start in senior football. His impressive balance meant I could not recall him ever being pushed off the ball, unless fouled, in what was a very physical game. King, who turned 18 last month, never went missing, was constantly involved in the play, often leading the counter attack, and if not for a better Timothy Castagne cutback, the performance could have been topped off by scoring his first ever professional goal. Fulham are not in a rush to make King a regular starter. Head Coach Marco Silva alluded to a calculated exposure to the first team environment. When speaking to me during his post-match interview Silva said: "Josh is a top talent we have on our hands that we have to keep giving these experiences to. I think he showed his quality, his bravery and the way he can play between the lines." The noises suggest King is an asset Fulham want to retain. Competing for minutes alongside the likes of Alex Iwobi, Emile Smith-Rowe and Andreas Pereira will help Silva's plotted drip feed approach. However with the current laser sharp focus on clubs adhering to the Premier League's profit and sustainability regulations, it would be naïve to think any home grown player is not for sale. Tom Cairney is in his 10th season at Fulham. The club captain first met King back in 2018, when the then 11-year-old walked out onto the pitch with him as a club mascot. Cairney has played alongside Roberts, Elliott, Carvalho and Sessegnon, so has a firm understanding of whether or not a youngster can cut it at the elite level. According to him "the sky's the limit" for King

It is about time the Premier League make a rule that when a player reaches 18 he must sign a contract with his parent club. He cannot be sold until that point and the Club would set a price. This would mean many more players would, at least for a time, stay with the Club that has produced them.

Swings and roundabouts. Most clubs treat their youngsters like Currys treat fridges and microwaves. They’re just commodities. Fulham have benefited just as much from stealing youngsters from smaller clubs using the rules and loopholes. It’s called capitalism, I’m told. The trick is to turn these kids into good players that can consistently be sold at a profit.

I like Josh King but not special in my eyes. Do a dribble, beat your man and score or dribble and lay off a decent pass thats what is good. When i see Josh doing more of this i will take more notice. I see more of a gem in Martial Godo and no Fulham fan even mentions him. Godo leaves me with more of an impression with his play and vision in a game and nobody thinks he is special.

I saw something so very unusual in the Plymouth/Liverpool cup-tie yesterday. Having gathered the ball, the Plymouth goalkeeper advanced to the edge of the area, gave the ball a bounce then a mighty boot downfield. I haven’t seen that in years. No calamitious attempts at ‘clever’ footwork Ronaldo-style, no little passes to centre backs well covered by the opposing forwards while the home supporters cover their eyes and hold their breaths. And the result? - will go down in history. Is there a lesson there?

Not sure we have the players for root one football, so probably not for us. However, what is interesting this weekend is all the smaller teams gave the big teams a scare (including us against Wigan) or even knocked them out. What the premier league teams cannot cope is chaos, energy and physicality. The tic-tac football is waning. So it would be interesting putting a team from the 80's against a top team today!

Players are allowed to stand in the goals. If you take a look at the rulebook, there is actually a section that encourages players to stand in the goal to ensure the goal counts.

The Villa player was standing behind the goal line so, technically off the field. That is not allow. Please advise me which rule encourages referees to allow players to stand in the goal and behind the goal line.

Read the rule book, I aint gonna give you all the answers. Rule e435.3: Players can stand, and should stand, in the goal when making room for a shot to enable the goal to stand. If a player is caught not standing in the goal, the referee may legally remove the goal from existence.

There is no such rule in the FA rule book. There are just 17 rules but there are sub-sections within those 17 rules. Please advise me which of these 17 rules I will find this sub section. Simple question so post the rule number.

Having just returned from a Winter break has left me with some catching up to do but good to return halfway through the Wigan Cup tie. Two weeks ago, I witnessed the worst Manchester United side I have ever seen and that is a very long time. After twenty minutes I actually believed that we were capable of winning by at least two goals. By half time my confidence had evaporated despite dominating, we were unable to put the ball in the opponent’s goal, not an unusual event at the Cottage. Wilson came in for some now allowed brutality, with various United defenders taking it in turns to ensure his threat was extinguished. This finally resulted in a fractured foot which means it is unlikely he will play any part in the rest of the season. True to course, history was repeated following the inability of our defence failing to clear their lines with an excellent shot taking a deflection catching Limo too far off his lines. Hearts sank as virtually all of us realised we would now lose a game which should have been a doodle. I feel we are cursed by some unknown spirit which haunts us when we play United whether they are rubbish or when they are great. Therefore, it was no wonder Newcastle were a home banker for our visit to St. James”s the following week. Newcastle are a top side so it was no surprise when our defence was immediately under pressure with Gordon carving out several openings which were rewarded when his cross was turned back to Murphy who made no mistake. Surely, we would not survive until half time but roared on by a thousand or so supporters, what brave souls they were, we went in a single goal adrift although, I suspected that would be the only break we would get. How wrong I was. It was if a replacement eleven strode mightily onto the pitch and tore into Newcastle as if their lives depended on obtaining victory. Suddenly the Newcastle keeper was the busiest player on the pitch. Our left flank was working overtime and Newcastle had no answer. Eventually, despite the heroics of their keeper Raul scored an excellent goal a fitting end to an wonderful move. Shortly afterwards, much to his disgust, he was replaced by Muniz who within minutes had scored a brilliant goal, following a free kick by Pereira. The free kick came at speed but one touch followed by a carefully place shot stun the Magpies. Fulham survived one or two scares but managed to survive to recorded an outstanding victory. Well done to,ours tiny band of supporters who made the trip and did the Club proud.

Unfortunately, iPad ran out of juice so was unable to comment on our game against Wigan, a place which my education never reached and just remember comedians of a by gone age mentioning the pier for some unknown reason. I still remember being taught about the Battle of the Roses in 1485 which was the last major battle between the houses of Lancaster and York which resulted in a victory for the Lancastrians whose leader, Henry Tudor became the first English monarch of the Tudor dynasty. Being politically astute, Henry subsequently married a Yorkshire princess to solidify his position. Apologies, I digress but regret I have only seen limited footage of our cup-tie but understand Muniz, with his new Pereira hair style, had another good game scoring two excellent goals. As the Cup can earn us a European place plus significant financial reward, we need to ensure we do not fall into the Liverpool trap of playing a weakened side and getting knocked out. Just let’s hope for a favourable home tie and we can then start dreaming. I wonder what it is about having the top of your hair dyed white and the sides left dark. Fortunately, Robinson saw the error of his ways and returned to his natural colour so we could recognise him.

However, Muniz has decided to bleach his hair, probably makes him stand out in the crowd, like Pereira. What's with the Brazilians? I hope Willian doesn't follow suit. However, TC has gone to the other extreme, a pudding basin haircut in readiness of a media career. His next step, a voice coach like a prominent Arsenal supporter.

I will take that and we move onto the next round and anyway, the FA cup is more prestigious than the other cup so let's give ourselves a pat on the back! Sometimes the offside works for us and sometimes against so no worries, off-side is offside. I am happy for Muniz who i think has a touch of class but he needs more goals and especially in the league. Our star young player everyone thinks is Josh King but i beg to differ? Martial Godo is the guy for me that is primed and ready to go, why not give him more starts? Godo has a lot more range and he links up well and his passing game is excellent. Funny thing when we moan about the lack of a player when we have somebody like Godo who can do everything, the only problem is maybe left sided players and we have lots of them. Josh King is a decent prospect and he could well progress onto the next level but there are certain aspects to his game he needs to learn and one big thing is to lay a pass of and that is visionary, Godo is well ahead of King in the improving stakes at the moment...

Both are good prospects but this was against poor opposition and neither really made a claim to playing Premier League beyond substitutions yet.

The gap between PL players and lower division players get greater every day. Even our reserves look much to good for a 1st Division team.

The Fulham reserves beat Wigan more comfortably than the score indicates. That of course is what you would expect against a !st Division team.

We went ahead a few minutes after they equalised. Apart from their good goal they hardly had a shot on target. What I do not really understand is we do not play again for a week why put out such a weak team.

How lucky are Manure United, with a winning goal that was obviously offside, and in this case VAR would have ruled the goal out. The linesman needs suspending, for a major error, that even a local park linesman would have picked up.

Marco studies the opposition and devises a plan to beat them. The teams we have lost to in the main do not have a planned system of playing so Marco cannot only say attack, defend or do your best so that makes us no better, perhaps even worse, than our opponents.

The promoted teams are always much too loyal to the managers who get them promoted. A championship manager is a Championship manager. Thank him, sack him and get a Premier manager. We made that mistake twice until we got a Premier League manager in the Championship which is even better if you can afford it.

Willian beat his man and jinks in from the left and unleash a curler top left-hand corner- perfect! I love it!!! Wilson can do it 2 out of ten but Willian does it 9 out of ten because he can. In terms of seating, Newcastle treat the away fans the worse of all clubs by putting them in the sky in a corner, about 300 meters up so any noise will be drowned out by their own fans. Premier league should set some minimal standards.

May I suggest Rasmus Hojlund who scored 9 goals with Atlanta in Itlay last season and 12 goals at United this season in a side that is shot through when it comes to confidence. I think with someone like our Manager he could thrive and become a striker in the style of Viv Busy or Bobby Zamora. I understand that Wi ll iam is back at the Cottage as 38 years old. His influence on our younger players could be helpful. Fulham FC are having an excellent season and 3 places higher than I thought they would be at this time. Here we come Europa! I first saw Hojland at FC Copenhagen in 2021 and lets say he did not lack confidence then.

Alas' is it possible? While we are on the subject of Parker, did any of you guy's have a Parker pen at school? Never had the pleasure of owning one until lately when my kids put one in my Xmas stocking. It was considered posh in those days and i can only think of 3 guy's that would most likely carry one in their youth? MST, Bigboy, and loitombi.

If you'd had a parker pen in my school it wouldn't last too long as some thieving git would've half inched it as soon as you took your eye off it, I found a biro just as adequate plus it doubled up as a kind of pea shooter to fire little balls of saliva wet paper across the classroom. I did have a parker coat though, the ones with fur round the hood

Same old Parker, just a selection of comments from Turf Moor attendees, sound familiar?‘Spence: The last promotion season was my favourite ever as a Burnley fan, but now I've never been so happy to give up my season ticket. It's absolutely dreary. Last season was awful too, but this one has been a test. Proud of the defence, but what's the point if it's this boring and frustrating? James: Is it entertaining? At times yes, but for the most part it's made me want to watch paint dry. It's an incredibly risk-averse style of play that means we're very rarely at risk of being caught on the counter. But ultimately if it is pragmatic enough and gets us promoted, great... but will it fly in the Prem? Probably not. Robbie: Worst style of football I've seen under any Burnley manager. People criticise Dyche's style but that was needed for survival. Under him we actually played good football in the Championship. To play so negatively and so many 0-0s is so poor with the money and players we have. Leads to no atmosphere at Turf Moor. If we can't score against Stoke, how on earth would we score against any Prem team?‘

Sorry to disappoint you Owen but I came from a very poor background. More of the old fashioned pen where you stuck a nib in and dunked in a pot of ink or, if at school, an in well. Eventually, managed to interest myself in politics, economics and literature after serving King and country for three years. Amazing how people can be so wrong about other people or judge a book by its cover.

Lol' sorry about that one Bigboy, just having a chuckle thanks to the Parker name. It was just typical of me and humour to come up with the Parker pen. Interestingly writing with a fountain pen proved horrific when the ink would spill out on a perfectly decent period of writing my best and it was sickening when all that ink splodged all over. You did very well Bigboy and no doubt your family were proud of your performance and career. You are right though and i shouldn't judge. I am glad to bring our humble Parker-pen to the table though and don't have a lot going on in this country anymore, i almost expected to hear the humble Parker-pen moved to and manufactured in China like everything else.

So the rumours of the prodigal never materialised on the official site. Personally I think our squad is strong however, Willian would have filled the gap left by Wilson’s injury; so a little disappointing. I would also have liked to have seen a loan signing to fill the Tete gap because when Castagne gets suspended again or gets injured we will be in trouble at right back. Nevertheless, we are having a good season and the lack of signings may open a door for a hidden star in the U21s.
Replies
Willian has signed in principle sky sports said last night, should be announced today . Didn’t need to beat the deadline as he’s a free agent. Agree right back situation a worry but as you say great season so far, no need to panic buy if we can’t get players we want.

On the bright side, unless we think we are good enough to get a European place, whether we finish 8th or 14th has limited difference (but a few millions in prize fund). So now we have the time and the money to buy exactly the player Marco wants and build on next season. Willian is the best sticky plaster we can wish for.
