I probably belong to part of a generation which doesn’t always feel at home with modern technology. Some of you may recall I fly in a few times a year and Saturday was a special occasion as I was treating my grandson ,daughter and son in law. It was the first time I was using e tickets having no option to request the printed version which in itself is a disilusion as I keep them as souvenirs , the same as others do with programmes. Fearing murphys law may make its appearance with 4 tickets all depending on a 1 only mobile, 2 of them failed to work at the turnstile. I must admmit that the ffc staff tried hard to solve the problem, they had no specific protocol to either print or resend the failed tickets. They actually did manage to improvise and do both, but they all failed. One of the other mobiles was tried but again to no avail. Finally they printed 2 tickets using different seat locations and after 20 minutes of tension we finally went through. Again ,I insist staff were very helpful, but we were lucky we arrived with plenty of time in hand and that nobody else had suffered a similar problem

Unfortunately I turned the program on in the middle of a football conversation with Danny Murphy and other pundits, and although I missed the beginning of Danny's comments, basically he was talking about Fulham problems at signing players, and how restricted we are financially, as the club lost 30 million last season, and 20 million the season before, so our transfer opportunities' are very restricted, so buying the striker that we require in the January window, is almost impossible. Danny did say, that he couldn't see Marco leaving for any other Premier League side, but a top job at a European club, was a big possibility, at the end of the season. It is so frustrating that our finances are holding us back from being a challenging for Europe club, and we will be a club just fighting just to stay in this league as long as possible. I'm sure that there are more clubs in this position, but I am only interested in my club Fulham.

In a previous post I stated out game against Spurs is winnable and having watched them today against Arsenal I saw little to change my mind. However, we need to start as we did yesterday and press them from the start. Their defence looks vulnerable when under pressure and provided our forwards can improve their shooting we could intimidate their poor defence. I thought the referee was poor today amd at times he allowed too much brutality to creep into the game. We must be positive from the start and exploit their defence but most of all wr must ensure our shots are on target.

Our reliance on wingers is obvious and easily negated by savvy mangers. Many other Premier League teams are able to go through the middle (our soft spot BTW) to score. This why we score so few goals. When we had Mitro as a target it was a good tactic but without an out and out CF we are hit and miss. People ask why did we buy Kevin and/or ESR, will they come good? When you only have one plan (wingers) they are easy to stop, every club has a team studying what the oppo do and how they play, so we get a couple of good games out of them, you lot start coming in your pants, and then they go off the ball. It has often been thus in the past: Manor Soloman, Lookman now Kevin and perhaps Chucky even, I'm sure there are others, real class lasts, think Willian for instance. Why don't we play ESR more? He's the little fat kid at school who is skillful, but gets puffed after ten minutes. We need a Tom Cairney type who is able to control the game from the middle but they are few and far between, like solid 20 goal a season strikers.

A well-grafted and ground-out win on a rainy day where any mistakes would have been punished big time. There was a few good points to mention that we haven't yet. We started on the front foot for a change and dominated possession in the first half to such an extent we made Sunderland look very ordinary. How we failed to score remains a mystery. Kevin for all his ability produced little and Josh King very seldom looks like scoring. Watching in the comfort of my home I thought if only we had someone like Mitrovic, Sniffer Clarke or Graham Leggat we would have scored a hatful of goals. Whilst the intensity of our play eased in the second half we continued to make Sunderland look very ordinary. With the clock ticking down it once again appeared likely that we would be deny the much needed victory or, even worse that Sunderland would get lucky by scoring a late breakaway goal. The introduction of Chukwueze and Smith Rowe in the 64th minute saw an improvement with the former bring a sense of urgency to proceedings. Then in the 84th minute came the breakthrough when Chukwueze swung over an inviting cross which fell in a crowded penalty area with the ever alert Jimenez first to react and just able to strike the ball home. The relief and jubilation of the crowd of the crowd was so evident watching it at home that I too was on my feet cheering. For once we had no difficulty in putting the game to bed for a thoroughly deserved victory. I did not see what caused the fracas after the final whistle but consider whatever it was it had no place in football. Our players should have been applauding our fans especially those in the JH stand, many of whom were soaked through. Once again a number of players contributed little and the need for a proven striker remains crucial if we are to progress. Several Premier teams have managed to find these players as witnessed by the continuing success of Brighton and Brentford as prime examples. Next game against Spurs is winnable provided Marco starts with the right team which might necessitate leaving Wilson on the bench as he does seem more effective coming on as a substitute. Chukwueze must be in the starting line up and try Kevin as a striker alongside Jimenez. Whether our on loan striker figures in Marco plans I do not know but we will never find out his ability unless he gets some playing time. Plpp

SO , my 1-1 nearly happened, 24 shots against 4 and still only one goal, but it was the winning one so im happy ,rotton conditions but seen ffc play in worse in the old days, what it shows we do need a striker from some were fast cant keep assuming raul will pop up and save us.Back 4 were fine,why late subs 90 minute??? odd tactic,and still contract is in the clouds.

Sunderland put out an unchanged side of 11 and they didn't win but they look a proper Prem side and their system will work for them on better days. We cannot afford such luxuries and our first 11 what we put out today will struggle against the likes of Spurs and City i think. Berg was excellent in midfield today and yes Harry Wilson found himself in spaces and had ample opportunities to score but he is no cover midfielder, we will suffer against Man City who will be all over us in that midfield and possibly Spurs who have the excellent and tigerish Palhinha who we know about. I expect Lukic will be back in there with Berg after his ban but somehow we are not that solid or even creative when these two play together. I think that it's going to take me a week to dry out, as I got soaked, and my car seat, despite my car heater going on High, is still damp, and the drive home was a nightmare However, when we win, I can put up with that. Two things puzzle me, and they are, why are we so poor away, and how are Sunderland so high in the table ? Sunderland, apart from a couple of occasions, never looked like scoring, and it was just a case of, will we score, and thank goodness we did, and what a pass by Chucky. He looks a far better player than Kevin, who had a couple of good scoring chances. Boy did we need that win though, as we have a couple of toughies coming up, but I'm sure that in the end we will be OK.

We made it look more difficult than we should have done but in the end it was a well deserved win and boy' did we need it because we have 3 tough games coming up starting with Spurs away Man City and Palace home. Starting with the good points, i think Berg had his best game for a while and he popped up in important places and he was excellent with his touches to help out in forward areas. We needed to defend well against a very decent Sunderland side that know their roles going forward and they pop they ping the ball about in some nice triangles with a spare man running on and we defended well enough overall and i think Bassey was awesome, he definitely put his recent bad performances behind him in this game along with Tete and Andersen. Jimenez was pants up to 75 minutes and heshould have been subbed in my opinion but something changed for the better. Marco Silva die some excellent and intelligent substitutions and well done to the master who i thought had lost it but he found it again. Off went Wilson who had the best chances in this game and Josh King who i think should have more bench time than he has been doing. All that running and dribbling around is wow and gushing but sadly not much impact or end product, how many times do we see this at Fulham? Smith Rowe was good and along with the excellent Chukwueze we put more emphasis and more intent into our attack and it paid off when the excellent Chukwueze sent in an excellent left foot ball in for Jimenez to pop in and yes i was wrong because Jimenez is as experienced as they come in those positions. Sess also had a good game and he is visionary with those passes. I must say this and some will not agree but i think the subs Marco sent on in the second half is and should be our first 11, there' i have said it!!! Marco Silva is still struggling with first choice selections and i think Josh King should be the sub and thats my opinion. If anybody else disagrees, show me the dough if you get my meaning.

It is quite a few years since I have witnessed so much speculation, myself included, regarding the problems besetting our beloved club. In general, we are all concerned about our performance.on the pitch as well as what is happening behind the scenes. Both are interconnected, and personally, I believe it all emanates from Khan junior who has no experience of football and appears to have little interest in the club as he is pre-occupied with a thriving Wrestling outfit which is gaining a foothold in this country. I suspect that his lack of interest is probably the reason why we are never involved in the transfer market until the last minute. This has happened year after year and as Director of Football he should be in attendance every week of the season to listen to the widespread criticism of the club from every quarter. The negativity arising from the fans has become overwhelming with even the most fervent supporters beginning to doubt whether we have the ability to survive this season. Games which we would expect to win have now disappeared and each game has become a bridge too far. I suspect that Marco’s agent will demand genuine assurances on a greater say on transfer matters or he will walk. I believe Marco will get those assurances and will stay as walking will not look good on his “curriculum vitae” and might well be interpreted as being a failure. Marco has been dismissed in the past which is a stain which sometimes hinders future employment. Whether or not the Fulham hierarchy listen to the current outburst of criticism is a mute point as people who are the sole owners of any company become impervious to criticism. If the media have got it right and it all depends on money spent in January. And the club not wanting to spend till Marco signs . Agree the contract now with it becoming binding once the agreed amount of money is spent with Marco picking players. If they can’t agree anything we must move forward. And if a player has two or more clubs after him he won’t choose the one who’s manager could be leaving.

Despite having been on our Winter break I have continued to watch our matches due to a multi-screen hotel bar in Dubai. Our last game against Everton was an abysmal display which left me pondering what is happening behind the scenes which might be the root cause of the problem. One can only speculate and no doubt most of us will be wrong. However, statistically we were always going to lose to Everton so it should not have come as a surprise. The problem was how we lost which remains the conundrum. There was no intensity, no passion and with one or two exceptions the players gave the impression that they would have preferred doing something else rather than playing football. Our display both in defence and attack reminded me of an end of the season game where players had already packed their bags for sunnier climes. Has the manger lost the changing room or are the players no longer able to implement Marco tactical strategy. The suggestion some posters have made relates to Boa Morte’s departure who rapport with the players was a key factor in our success. Rumours are circulating in the press, most are probably without foundation, but with new talks between Mr Khan senior and Marco’s agent have only just got underway. The cause of disenchantment may well the lack of improvement to the squad during the Summer window which certainly gave rise to Marco’s anger. The strange decision to sell Wilson although, it failed at the last moment, and the possible departure of Traore which has been mentioned in the near future. Unless we see a vast improvement in our next two matches, both of which will prove difficult, I will be inclined to join “the man with a Crozier” which would sadden me as I remain convinced we have sufficient talent to improve from our lowly position.

Xavi is currently a free agent, having left his position as manager of FC Barcelona at the end of the 2023/24 season. He is now actively looking for his next coaching opportunity, stating a desire to return to management and expressing interest in potentially coaching in the Premier League. He is also involved in other activities, such as speaking at conferences and serving as a global ambassador for Aspire Academy and Adidas...And Regarded as one of the best midfielders of all time. I think Xavi is the perfect fit for a manager at a Fulham side that is found wanting of a midfield that lacks the required standard to operate for a long time now in the high standard of the Premier League. Marco Silva is a talented Manager who has been here since 2021 and he will go down as one of our top ten i will say successful managers so far in Fulham history. The wheels havn't quite fallen off the wagon as yet but it does feel like our team needs someone and something new and some renewed motivational spirit and vibes which we are lacking for a long while now. Yes' maybe Marco Silva can find that emotional spark and renewed zest again after the international break and injuries clear up and we are ready to go again and hey, i am so willing and wanting to see a spark and we go again if Marco can find it in himself to get us back to winning ways. Xavi is remembered as one of the best midfield operators there ever was on a football field and Barcelona is his spiritual home and the home he never strayed from and Barcelona never once considered or even contemplated a move away, that would have been a betrayal and the unthinkable. Xavi's short stint as a Barcelona coach didn't quite reach the level of his success on the pitch in the short time as a coach but Xavi is now ready to branch out and leave Spain to explore new horizons and the Premier League is his chosen destination for new adventures and to hone his skills once again on a different level in management. Xavi is known as the quiet man and humble he will come so the harsh element and mental atmosphere of a Newcastle will not be suited to Xavi, but Fulham and Craven Cottage is the perfect club for our gentleman Xavi. Our football is much better when our midfield is graceful, effecient and working solid like once past and maybe we will find our way back to winning ways with Marco after the break or maybe not? The Khans primarily to blame as despite our good position in the league last 3 years, their recruitment since losing Mitrovic has been woeful. Marcus is a good manager loyal and has had injuries and the worst transfer in last window. All clubs except us heavily invested in good players and several players for teams especially promoted clubs. So this is the Khans lack of understanding Football , willing to invest properly and more interested in improving the ground instead of Fulhams squad. Please keep Marco give him his deserved contract and promise at least 4 quality players in January .Essentially 2 midfield and a a 10 and quality front player. Get rid of Smith Riwe no effort commitment, Traore will never have quality/composure as we have repeatedly seen. Please please don't think Brendan Roger's who has managed Mickey mouse football with Celtic, walks out when tough issues and has not won anything. Not good for us. That's my opinion and hopefully ignore the outside world and support FFC with Marco this will come good.

This afternoon, out of interest I popped into my local bookies, and asked for the odds on managers in the Premier League losing their jobs, and I was more than surprised, and I couldn't quite believe, that Marco was 11/10 favourite, followed by Daniel Farke at 2/1, then of all people, Eddie Howe, at 5/1. After all he has done for Newcastle, how on earth can Howe, even be among the favourites. The same applies to Marco, as it is quite ridiculous the we are even thinking about him leaving, as that write out our relegation death warrant. The club must not even consider such a possibility. Honestly if this happened, I will seriously think about never again be renewing by ST, in the JH.

Fulham manager Marco Silva could be relieved of his duties over the international break in a shock development, with multiple journalists claiming his job is under serious threat. The Cottagers have had a poor start to the season, and a 2-0 defeat away to Everton over the weekend leaves them 15th in the Premier League table – only one point above the relegation zone. Silva, 48, was appointed as Fulham boss in 2021 and has had a successful stint at the London club, securing their promotion from the Championship in the 2021/22 campaign, followed by 10th, 13th, and 11th-place finishes in the top flight. His contract expires next summer. However, according to journalist Ben Jacobs, Silva could be sacked by Fulham due to their poor start to this season. “Understand Fulham are weighing up the future Marco Silva,”“Tensions are mounting with Fulham only a point above the relegation zone. And Silva, who is a free agent this summer, has proven reluctant to sign a new deal. This has been Fulham’s preference since the summer.”Jacobs’ report was backed up by his talkSPORT colleague Alex Crook, and another journalist, Graeme Bailey. “Pressure is understood to be mounting on Marco Silva and Fulham are assessing the situation,“They are unhappy with their start to the season. Silva is out of contract at the end of the season.”Fulham’s season has been poor so far, but Silva’s job has been made more difficult by the fact that they did not invest heavily in their squad over the summer. Brazilian winger Kevin, who has started well, and backup goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte were their only permanent signings, for around £36m combined – almost all of which was spent on Kevin. Striker Jonah Kusi-Asare and winger Samuel Chukwueze were also brought in on loan. Meanwhile, the Cottagers have lost the services of Willian, Andreas Pereira, Reiss Nelson (who was on loan from Arsenal), Carlos Vinicius and others. No one can argue that Silva has done a fantastic job at Fulham since coming in four years ago – but there is growing frustration among the fan base. Given his previous success, it would still come as a shock for Fulham to part ways with Silva and not give him more time to turn things around, even with his previous reluctance to pen a contract extension. But at the same time, Silva won’t be short of opportunities should the London side decide to axe their manager. For example, should Leeds United decide to part ways with Daniel Farke, bringing in a proven Premier League boss like Silva would no doubt appeal to them. It will be interesting to see how this situation develops, with speculation increasing that Silva could be shown the exit door by Fulham’s hierarchy.

Not panicking just yet but if we are in a situation after Xmas we might need to swallow a bitter pill and go for Ivan Toney who is 29 and he will be expensive! 49 Goals in 59 appearances for Al Ahli is not too shabby and besides, if Kane can still do the business at age 32 in Germany, why not Toney for Fulham? Betting and bookies is banned and we can put that in his contract. Over to you Paddy O doors!!!

Marco refuses the contract...

At the start of every season whilst in the top flight, I use the same system for points total, No points home or away Liverpool, Man City, Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal 3 points at home Brighton, Crystal Palace, Brentford, Leeds, Burnley, Notts Forest,West Ham, Sunderland, Wolves, Everton, Bournemouth 33pts 1point at home Spurs, Newcastle, Aston Villa 3pts All away games 0 points. This equals 36pts enough to stay up for the last 20 years. Using this system after the Everton game we are plus 2 points. The next 10 games should yeild 8 points. 22games = 19 points. The loss of Robinson so far this season, along with the inability of Smith-Rowe, Traore to seemingly let Josh King take their places in the team without a fight. Andersen's dreadful lack of pace, resulting in long balls over his head while holding a high line and Bassey's sudden lack of passing ability has cost us dear. Prefer Diop and Cuenca.

I read London has the lowest growth in the whole of UK, literally at 0%. I wonder if the government and the London Mayor wonder why?! I am sure its not the only reason but I 95% of Londoners would agree with me that London in the past 5-10 years have come to a standstill in mobility. You are unlikely to average more than 10mph if you are driving across London during the day. There are less trains running now that Pre-covid. There have been no new road lanes added in the last 30 years, instead many more taken away for Bus or Cycle lanes. Roads and lanes are shut down for the minor work, probably the health and safety got too powerful. E.g. Pavement repair work would result in shutting down one lane to protect workers. Also the 20mph limit everywhere! There appear no consideration to the drivers whenever any repair work is approved by the councils. The time wasted on travelling could mean a delivery driver deliver 20% more parcels, the salesman selling 20% more products, the guy in the office can do 10% more work rather stuck in the traffic. If London want growth, we have to unblock the roads!! May not solve the problem but fact is the less congestion the more productive we become! sorry for the rant, but I like to think apart from the climate warriors, not many would disagree with me.

What we never addressed was losing Mitro,big mistake ,not easy but there are strikers out there ,they dont all have names we know but they still score goals for there club so look closer you may find a diamond, the other thing we left unattended was replacement hard nut mid/f , AKA palinia, we are so soft in mid/f its embarrassing ,all to light weight,maybe that could have made a diff?.We have now reached a point were what does ffc do and what will Marco do?managers are moving like bamboo in a hurricane, what a problem.

It was obvious to most of us watching the last 6 games of 24/25 season we needed more pace in defence , more creativity in midfield and an extra striker . We sort of expected early action in the transfer market , but nothing and when it eventually happened we had signed two wingers ( both of who would take time to adjust , and i am being kind ) and a jr striker who might come good in about 3 years . If the Khan's cant see this , the very real prospect of a half empty at best Riverside stand for 26/27 might start the alarm bells . Marco was clear the squad needed improvements and i dont think he meant two wingers . And our scouting , esp in the lower leagues , is non existent .

Before the season started, most of us, including myself, was expecting us to move up a notch, from last season, and with what seemed at the time, some exiting new signings, our ambition was to go for a European place, with a higher points tally, than last seasons record, but come what may, at least a top ten finish, worthy to fight for. Now fast forward to where we are today. With practically the same, or what seemed a better squad than last season, our ambition is now completely different, as it is now, to finish 17th or above in the table, and on current form, this isn't going to be an easy outcome. For the first time, I am genuinely worried, that along with Wolves and possibly Leeds or Burnley, we will find ourselves back in the Championship, with dare I say it a different manager.

I have always been the forever optimistic and very supportive of the manager but even i have my doubts now. I don't think anyone has noticed i put up a few posts talking about Sunderland a team that have just been promoted and managed by Régis Le Bris who is around the same age as Marco and is much less experienced at the top level. What Régis does have going for him, emmencely over Marco Silva is that he has a wonderful eye for picking players around him us and all of the teams involved in transfers i should say and whatever else he has seems to be working, just look at the comeback from a Sunderland side under the cosh, like most teams when they play Arsenal. You couldn't write the script if you tried. A goal from young centre-back Dan Ballard who could not get a game with Arsenal then a wonder and beaut of a goal from Brobbey a young Dutch player signed for Sunderland in a five year contract, who would have picked Brobbey in a lineout? Whatch out for Brobbey if picked for the African Nations he looks the type to light up a stadium. We have what we have player-wise wise and this is our lot until Jan transfer time to dig us out of a hole that is looking bigger by the week. Josh King is young and yes i agree he tries harder than most in our squad but you don't get Blue Peter badges for trying hard, Josh needs to score goals in that midfield of ours and yes we need more from the likes of Muniz, Smith Rowe etc ect. Marc Silva somshow has got to find a way and ways of playing and bring back winning ways before the rot sinks in deeper starting with a win at home against Sunderland Sat 22nd November which is ample time to sort stuff out in my opinion. Silva needs to show and bring his experience to the table against a manager Régis who has an eye in picking players from a local park game, easy-peasy lemon squeezy, how hard can it be? We have the likes of Kevin and Rowe bought for millions and others. Now the trick is how do we get every one of them to play together in cohesion and perfect harmony and deliver what we crave in wins galore to take us far and away from that deadly drop-zone of the prem. Sunderland are doing it, no more excuses Marco Silva...

As a lifelong Fulham Supporter it hurts to say after listening to Marco about the team only played for 20 minutes and we got what we deserved. I watched Sunderland last night although Arsenal were the best team the effort and hard work that Sunderland put in deserved a point. Everyone knows that the team is old and that injuries will take longer to mend with older players. The team need younger players that can fit straight into the team not just sit on the bench. FFC had the opportunity to improve the squad to build on last year but they chose not to. They will say it is all about PSR and yet smaller clubs than FFC manage to get around it perhaps they have better accountants. Marco hinted about Physicality in his interview, we need taller, stronger, fitter players. Unfortunately with this ownership we will only get bargain basement or players that will take a year to get adapted to the Premier League. The more recent buys Emile Smith Rowe (sick Note) and Kevin (Marco's words needs to work as mauch of the ball as on it) sums up our scouting and recruiting team.
