What an awful eulogy Will; couldn't you think of anything nicer to say. He was colossal for Fulham during his time with us in both attack and defence and it's a shame we don't have anyone with his presence in the team (or squad) now. 42 years of age is a terrible waste and my thoughts are with his family....

so sad. Huge character and massive presence on the pitch and off it. Who could forget the joy he brought us all when he hit the unstoppable equaliser at the cottage against chelsea form 30 yards. i can still see it start curling from just outside Chech's right post, never got over a foot off the ground and hit the net without bouncing. We loved the wardrobe xx

Thank you very much for ask The Arizonan, I am very slowly getting over my darling wife's passing, but I must admit that I am finding it very tough, especially with the approaching Christmas period, which was a time that we did so much together. I'm sure that there are many others in my situation this year, who will find it difficult to put things behind them. What we all need now is for our club to do a lot better to cheer us up, and getting something at a Leicester this evening would be a good start, although like over the next three matches, it might just be cases of keeping the scores down, and by playing well against these top teams. COYW.

Anthony Knockers does not improve playing for Forest, in fact he looks even worse than useless, so thank goodness we let him go. What a big disappointment from what looked a very talented player at one time.
A few of my friends are Brighton supporters , they really rated him , I can’t see it , he iis now totally lacking in confidence and can’t do anything right . Curse of the comment he should score now

For all of those of our fans that wanted Chris Houghton as our manager, they might just be reflecting now on how lucky we are to have dodged the bullet, by not getting him. Brighton fans they say were pleased to see the back of him, and maybe they were right after all.

Problem with Knockers is that he was a high energy player. He used to run and run like his life depended on it. He is ageing, so is slowing down and cannot play 90 minutes of high energy as he did for Hove.

Barring a complete change around of form, even in NovemberI can't see anything to stop the bottom three in the table, being Sheffield United, WBA and Burnley, with a possibility of Crystal Palace of being the other team involved in the scrap. We will be safely out of the drop zone by January, mark my words, as we have a far better squad than most of the teams in the bottom half of the table.
posted by Brian Jarvis (Guest) - Saturday 28th November 2020, 9:35 PM
Palace will run away. We are in a mini league with WB, Burnley and Sheffield United. Hopefully Brighton will be dragged into this dogfight too. We are better than both WB and Sheffield United.

In these so-called unwinnable games, we need to scrap for points just like Brighton did against Liverpool. Brighton are thereabouts around us, and they are in our pool of possible results to go get. Brighton have shown that it is possible to pick up the odd scrap for points and so can we Fulham. Maybe the resting of certain players in the Liverpool squad and shuffling around the adjusted squad has tipped the balance in Klopp's team? Whatever the dynamics of these top teams what play in the Champions and Europa league, we must look to steal points and take advantage of possible disruptions and fatigue in teams that play these extra games. Scott Parker must look at every angle and weakness exposed in any prem team that has major players missing in various positions also. I also think that the likes of Neskins Kebano could be potent and useful fresh from the bench?

Just watched the 2nd half of the Manchester City against Burnley game and it looked nothing more than a stroll in the park for City as they eased to a 5-0 win. I am asking myself if we are we going to do any better when we go there next Saturday.
It would have to be a complete different managerial / training set up to improve our seasons results.

I have a feeling that we might do a bit better than Burnley, but what worries me is that it's nearly HT and Everton today against Leeds and they still haven't scored and yet we had let in 3 goals against them by HT last weekend. Everton look pretty poor today as well, they probably reached their peak against us unfortunately.

No one will question his ability on the football pitch but outside it, he’s hardly been a role model. I am surprised how much respect the world of sports have given to his sad passing. I can understand on football but in F1, rugby, and other sports too?? If he was an athlete, it doesn’t matter what he achieved, if he was caught with a sniff of drug, he’d be banned and forgotten (remember the Canadian 100m runner??). Outside football Maradona spent years taking drugs (most likely played a big part in his early death) and involved with Mafia and dictators. I have no idea if and he got anything in return with those association. I also don’t remember him doing much good cause. Anyway, a great footballer but the world has lost many more great sportsman and contributed hugely to the society.
It's a slow news week.

Before we even get a rest-bite to easier games such as Brighton and Newcastle, we have Leicester, Man City, and a tough home game against Liverpool to come. There is a chink of light going into the game up at Leicester? Okay' a smidgen of a chance if we go by my scientific theory that a team who plays in Europe mid-week, should be 'er' more tired and fatigued more so than a team rested and ready to go to work? I confess that my feelings on beating Leicester are slim and none, but i feel that Scott Parker will have no choice but to take a crumb of comfort in my scientific theory and my vast philosophical knowledge. An ark back to an old saying, 'some crumbs is better than no crumbs' is all we can take from in the best league in the world apparently. Are we enjoying it? Put it another way, i would rather be pitting my wits against Leicester than Brentford any day of the week. Can you imagine the excruciating pain delivered from a pile-driver delivered from the undertaker the wrestler? Our pain-game continues week after week. But there is alight, somewhere over the rainbow' surely there is a turn around in fortunes for Fulham? I sincerely think there is hope around the corner. Scott Parker' 'don't wait on Brighton, Newcastle, and a possible points tally against Southampton. We must fight through the giants snare and battle through the thorns and thistles of these tough prem fixtures. We can win points against the impossibles just like Villa and some others arond us do...COME ON FULHAM!!!!!!!!
Owen, what is a rest-bite? I expect better from you.

I am sure the club will enable fans who get a ticket the ability to turn it down to enable other fans who were not selected to get one though. Watching Fulham is of course about being there and supporting the team, but a major factor is about sitting with your family and friends during the game also. I know Parker is not going anyway but if you had a choice of any manager, who would you pick to (1) stay up this season (2) challenging for a top 10 position next season, working with the current team with minimal investment (say £40m). For all we know, Parker can still do this. But who would you pick? Klopp who seems to be able to get the best out of players but they have to be fit! Mourinho? Who needs everyone to be 100% disciplined? Guardiola who would need really skilful players? An old fashion manager like Pullis or alladyce who can the any rubbish into solid state? What about Roy? Jack of all trades with great organisation skills. Who would you pick and why?
Starting with the manager Howe, expierenced and young who would be capable of reconstructing. players 1 out Mitro 15m in Pukki & Arrons of Norwich a C/F & versatile full back Rico henry of Brentford another full back. Harry Winks of Spurs.get shot of all the loanees and recently purchased dysfunctionals, iam sure E Howe could do something with that lot. If we had to stick with our present squad (AN ARSE KICKER REQUIRED) big Sam.

Just a thought, Khan owns an American football club which has a defensive coach and an offensive coach,it would see seem logic to employ the same system for our club (Danny M )!!! Parker can’t do either.
Ah, logic. It would seem reasonable and logical to appoint a CEO who has a modicum of interest, talent and ability in this role. Ah, logic, but at least we’ll have a gin bar, gymnasium and open air swimming pool in the new Khan Stand. I’ll be eternally grateful. Or not.

Reading about maradona further down i wonder just how many times people who on here tell us how great he was have actually watched him? the odd snippets yes but exposure on a grand scale never seen it,he played in italy for many years so how many games do we see from italy on our networks , answer ,hardly any , just thinking ,scored some super goals but not on renaldo scale for sure.We talk about a fantastic player but we can honestly say seeing him play was limited..Still thing renaldo was and still is the best just look at his record.

There's a Premier League team that cannot score at home. But that is enough about Manchester United! Our penalty taking is a scandal, no professional footballer should miss a penalty. The past three weeks have been a dreadful disappointment for us fans can if we had scored those we would now be 16th and not in the relegation zone. One only has to look at how our team trudged out in the second half. There was obviously words said at half time but seriously is this not the worst side to represent us in the Pemiership. Head down and shoulder limp - we must demand more for the wages these players are being paid. What we urgently need is a midfield general, someone like Troy Deany (Watford) in midfield - and I am affaid a Manager with Premiership experience. No Clauido Ranieri's but perhaps Chris Coleman or Edie Howe ?
Troy Deeney, you must be joking, we dodged the bullet there alright. After watching him playing for Watford tonight, he looked like a waste of space. Watching Bristol City and Watford just showed how poor the Championship has become and why we should be grateful that we are now in the Premier League, with football on a different planet, even played by us.

I know Jnr Khan has the final say on these matters but we do have a managerial/coaching plus the addition of a chief talent scout in TALBOT to identify, and acquire either on loan, or to purchase players. My question being can anyone identify a player, or players, who were worthy acquisitions. Personally i feel that over 90% those we have got in the last couple of seasons are a complete waste of space. Bad buys, wrong coaching ?. What do others think on this subject
Judging by past signings would be useful to have Brentford scouts. Not too impressed by our signings in the last few years.

So he had a few vices? So what! Haven't we all! At the end of the day, he was a fellow human being and despite the "hand of God" tag he was enormously gifted and in the top three or four players of all time and I include Pele, Ronaldo and Messi in there but I can't split them to be honest.

If Burnley can get another 3 points over 3 games, I fear that heads will drop. Footballers do have feelings and, apart from those going home next May, our real Fulham men will be weeping in their larger. I did read that Mitro loved his time at Newcastle and maybe hopes to go back one day. Make it soon. We need a quicker man up front and sorry to say Mitro no longer has the bottle we need.

Mitro got to get his act together, get slimmer and get fitter (and shave off his beard!). He can't keep on blaming lack of services to him. he has to do more and make things happen and engineer his own luck and chances. If he fails this season, it will be his third failure in the premier league. People will see him a classic fantastic championship player but short of Premier league quality.

I'm afraid most of our players fall into that category, decent in the Championship but poor in the Premier League. I think this current squad would only be mid table at best in the Championship, they seem to lack the killer instinct and character needed to do well.

Our players do not lose deliberately, and if lady luck was on our side we would have a few more points in the bank. We are a long way from being the worst team in this division, and I don't expect us to be relegated as once we have our full squad available, we will shock a few sides over the season, and even those in the top 10.

No doubt, I will be accused of racism by some people I am only expressing views shared by many. Taking the knee, which was a genuine expression of events in America by their sportsmen and followed by many countries, is something I certainly agree with. However, like our support for the NHS workers, I consider it has now outlived it's purpose. The longer this practice continues it will devalue it's objective and therefore, it would be sensible to set an end date as it has achieved it's purpose.

Some of the play against Everton was good , but we still take 10 passes when 2 might have seen same thing . Too many loose passes in midfield , not enough shots from distance or crosses . Two players looked totally lost , Lemina and Cavaleiro whose most noticeable contribution was the penalty miss , he has constantly flattered to deceive , little end product . The subs did improve us , but Cairney and D Reid should have stayed on . Cairney , despite his lack of confidence , remains our most creative player but needs to be coached to play forward not sideways. I still think we are just a couple of results away from being a mid table side but we do need to grind out some ugly draws or even a win.
Sounds like my love life lol...

I didn't realize that Kamara is banned for 3 games? Bobby Reid scored a nice goal to add to his tally but he really is too light-weight to deputize in that precious striker's role. Cavaleiro is also down as a striker but a 5-year-old can point out that he is not. Cavaleiro's finest moment came in the Championship, and i cannot remember which game? He cut in from the left and unleashed a shot of Brazilian quality into the top left-hand corner. That is the best i have seen from him in a Fulham shirt. His penalty against Everton was almost a free-kick combined penalty if that makes sense? We are light-weight in numbers for proper strikers taking out Mitrovic. Kamara for all his failings is the perfect prototype to slot into that striker's role. The snag is, can Parker teach him and trust him to play into that role? There is very little time for experiment in this competitive league and i doubt fans will put up with my lunatic suggestions for a mere half dozen games never mind one game? We plod on with Mitrovic hit or bust, and we all know if or when Mitro is on his game. Lately he hasn't been on his game so Parker will need to come up with alternatives. Scott Parker has exhausted the Bobby reid striker route which is powder-puff and i doubt that Parker even has the know -how or even a willingness to try out my Kamara suggestion which will take 3 or 4 games to bare fruit or not? Our only option is to wait until January to make a proper attempt to draft in another alternative to Mitrovic. What becomes of us Fulham in the mean-time? Our only hope is for Mitrovic to find some kind of form, i wait with bated breath. In the mean-time, keep hold of the paracetemals folk's, because we will be needing lots of pills to ease our sufferings. A few shots of the strongest whisky will do too...
posted by OWEN (Guest) - Tuesday 24th November 2020, 9:05 PM
I agree if Cairney and Reid has stayed on and we had 13v11 we may have had a chance. Kamara being banned is a blessing he is utterly useless and we should never have had him back, the fact we did shows weakness and that’s why we are in a mess. No real planning and no sense of responsibility.

Fulham are unlikely to be able to welcome the permitted 2,000 fans at Craven Cottage should London be placed into Tier 2 when supporters return next month.

The Government confirmed on Monday that from next week, supporters will be allowed back into sporting events in areas under Tier 1 and 2 restrictions, with the capital expected to be placed into the latter.

London's clubs would be permitted to admit 2,000 supporters under the guidelines, but, due to a number of factors, Fulham are working towards admitting between 1,000-1,500 fans next month.

With access to the ground only possible from one street, the Cottagers face bigger challenges than many other London clubs, who can admit supporters from a number of entrances.

Furthermore, with no Riverside Stand to use while it is redeveloped and the main Johnny Haynes Stand having cramped concourses and largely been used by broadcasters and other media, supporters will be restricted to the Putney and Hammersmith ends.

The club, who made the decision not to offer season ticket renewals for this season, will run a ballot system - initially for those who held a season ticket last term - to allocate tickets for upcoming games.
MST is right; the club has confirmed they will be running's a ballot system, However, only penalty takers will stand a chance of winning

Well even if you were right that is still 12 years ago but...Formed in February 20, 1992, the English Premier League was created by clubs in the Football League First Division. From 1993 to 2001, the league was called as the FA Carling Premiership. Barclaycard took over in 2001 and since then it is known as the Barclays Premier League.

There has been a lot of praise for Anguissa and rightly so as he does possess many positive attributes. But Anguissa has many negatives that if are not rectified by coaching will cost us goals. Anguissa plays in the busy central area, in the PL this is a hard and crucial area to play. Anguissa is good with the ball at his feet but hopeless without the ball. His positioning is mostly wrong whether we are in possession of the ball or without the ball. Additionally when we lose the ball he doesn’t work hard enough to get the ball back. He also plays too high sometimes and when the ball passes him there is a big whole left behind him. I remember Bullard often did the same and Danny Murphy always helped him out. I also heard Hodgson constantly berating Bullard about his positional play. That’s what Parker should be doing, Anguissa has great potential but he needs the right coach to bring this out.
Agree and good call. I am sure Parker recognises that as well and working with Anguissa on positional play. But this problem is not just Anguissa. It is a systemic problem for the team. We lose the ball our players are generally completely out of position. That’s why we are conceding silly goals. So not just Anguissa.
posted by John (Guest) - Tuesday 24th November 2020, 10:52 AM
Anguissa is selfish, like Lookman he wants to dribble pass the entire opposition and when he loses the ballot just walks away, why are we not crossing the ball high to Mitro and why does Mitro not have a strike partner that can feed of him.
posted by Baz (Guest) - Tuesday 24th November 2020, 11:23 AM
Agree John ....Anguissa is not the problem which is far broader, indeed with the right coaching he plays a role in the solution but here lies the crux of the issue....the right coaching

A well drilled team like Palace/Burnley (at least last couple of seasons), Spurs, Leicester, Wolves and Sheff united last season, can regain team shape in seconds. It means players have to cover each other, prepared to sprint and track back and need to understand where they need to be without the ball - relative the play. How much time do we give Parker to make this happen??

We have one of the wealthiest owners in the premiership, spending a fortune on ground improvement but nevertheless putting in a complete novice of a manager, completly baffling.

Try as I do I can never imagine us going to places like Villa and getting a result . Probably that when I watch us I feel that every time our opponents attack us they are likely to score. The first thing a team must have is a sound defence and sadly ours is proving to be the worst in the division and until that is sorted we will be the whipping boys of the division! Are our defenders good enough, are are our coaches not up to the task or is it a bit of both ?
posted by John (Guest) - Tuesday 24th November 2020, 1:51 PM
Agree Putney Pete the coach is probably the single most important person on the footballing staff yet we have a novice. With the owner’s obvious business acumen you would have thought he would have known the outcome is incredibly risky in its current status quo. That said, what are the alternatives, but again sound business acumen would dictate adequate contingencies in place. Whichever way you look at things the leadership at the club needs to be questioned.

It has been good to watch all Fulham's matches this season on TV but it does compare to the wonderful atmosphere inside the cottage with a big crowd. It is the build us as well. We drive 80 miles to get there have lunch in a small café, see our cousin who lives locally and leisurely walk to the ground. It is an experience. Then there are away games where you spend the weekend around the match in a nice hotel and explore the local delights.

Totally agree that coaching is vital, but personal responsibility in the first place should be a given. Bobby D-R gave the ball away in a dangerous area after 30 seconds - if that had been me in my (much lower level) playing days I would have bust a gut to get back and make up for the error, but Bobby just ambled back for a few steps and then gave up and watched the subsequent cross lead to a goal. Any player in one of the top teams would show real desire to win the ball back. Some of our players do so, e.g. Anguissa, Reed, Cairney, but it should be automatic throughout the team.

Well our dream, and what we played for last season was to gain promotion to the Premier League, and eventually we made it, and we have arrived again in the promised land, but do we know wish we were back in the Championship, as surely none of us is thinking that so far this it has been exiting or thrilling. Yes it great to be playing these top teams, but only if we can give them a hard game, but when we lose to the likes of Crystal Palace, who are not a top team by any means then any enjoyment stops. We all know that we are going to lose the next three games, whereas in the Championship we would be hopeing to win the next three games whoever we would be playing. I love my football my Fulham, but I will probably be quite relieved when we are back where we belong, and winning games on a regular basis. Does anyone else feel this way.?
No the Premier League is the best place to play football ...I can never understand those supporters that think otherwise. Being in the Premier League is just brilliant, every game, every point is a cup final. We can compete in this league, our recent history proves that. This is why it is frustrating......we do not want to get relegated and must work harder. Some might want to settle for second best but I want Fulham to compete with the very best and we can do this. Disappointed in fans who think otherwise.
posted by Joka’s Revenge (Guest) - Tuesday 24th November 2020, 10:15 AM
The right response Joka. Fulham's owners are right at the top of the PL rich list and there is no reason for up to looking to play anywhere else - Europe maybe in the future. But the top teams have the best coaches, some of the best players, and mostly hands-off owners. Few of our players would compete for a place in a top 8 side. I don't comment on the other two points. Well aired and SP and TK are clearly below the best.

I for one am delighted to be back in the Premier League even if it is only possibly for one season, as its great to be pitting our wits against the cream of clubs. I have some sympathy however though with those of our fans that are not enjoying the experience of losing nearly every match, as it is hard to take. We are not that bad really and it's because of mistakes from individual players, that has caused defeats against both West Ham and Everton and we were so unlucky to have been beaten at Wolves and Leeds. Losing to Arsenal and Villa was understandable as we were still trying to settle on a squad, and were at sixes and sevens at the time. There is a fine line between winning and losing in this league, and we are not getting the rub of the green at present, but hopefully that will change soon.

I cannot stand this tippy tap. There was a moment in the Everton game where one of our players was just on the line of the box with no one other than their keeper in front of him and he passed it sideways to a player who had three defenders in front of him. If we do not shoot we will not score. Kick quickly, take them by surprise, at times we stopped, stopped with the ball not moving.

So, Parker is disappointed but his disappointment is comforted by his pay packet whereas us supporters do not have such comfort. As I and others forecasted he has taken positives from our second half performance but what the hell is he and the coaching staff doing about our continual defence lapses. So far this season the answer is a big fat zero. Regrettably, it is time for Parker to go and for baby Khan to step down and for professional people to be brought in to save our place in the Premier. Unfortunately, the chances of this happening are less than me winning Mr Universe.

I suggested we should wait for ten games before looking for a change of manager that period has passed without improvement of results. What puzzles me is when Scott took over and with a much worse team he won three game out of the seven games we played. That sort of ratio of wins with a few draws would keep us up. What has gone wrong, but Is their an outstanding unemployed manager out there who could do much much better, I hope so but doubt it.

Guys tell me if you see us getting a single point from our next few games against Leicester,Man City ,Liverpool and even Brighton at best 1point from 12. That’s hoping all below lose every game to stay in touch .
Of course we all know that we are going to lose the next three games, but that's no different to what any other of the bottom half of the table teams will do against the same opposition. The good thing is that we have nothing to lose, as nobody expects us to win any of these fixtures, or even draw, but it will give our defence are real opportunity to blend together and get experience of playing together, so the outlook against lesser teams will be far better.

The general consensus on this site is fairly clear, in that Parker is out of his depth, at this level. If he is to be jettisoned, there is really only a short window to do this, and that is now. Whilst we are 4th from bottom, a better manager would have a chance of turning us around; once we sink lower, it would most likely be too late and it would be like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. My best bet is that nothing will be done, and we will sink ignominiously , with Parker being fired after Xmas, when its too late
I agree RM. What annoys me is parkers selections. Cav and Lemino when Loftus Cheek and Anguissa are on the bench. How can Cav, a vg player at Wolves be so consistently poor at Fulham? We need forwards who are quick and unselfish. I preferred C-Reid to Mitro as well. Much quicker. Ever thought why defenses always seem to have 3 players around the penalty spot when we attack. It's because that's where Mitro plants himself. He's too slow himself and leaves no space for our other strikers. I also weep when joe bryan is left on the bench. Robinson is quicker but he needs more help on defensive duties. Joe in the old no. 6 berth would be a huge improvement. Aina on the right is another good forward runner but leaves massive gaps at the back. I think Parker is just grateful for his extended learning curve at FFC's expense. Someone should tell daddy Khan that this team will not fill the stadium even without the new stand.

Tottenham’s first goal this weekend was instructive. Kane comes toward the ball drawing both central defenders and Son made a diagonal run that the left back was late to track. A simple football “play” - but one we never do. Never. I don’t think SP is out of his depth but team selection wasn’t great. RLC is always a better player than Cav and Anguissa is better than Reed or Lemina. I’d also like to see Joe Bryan and Antonee Robinson on the left. Lookman can play on the right. Mitro missed Bryan’s delivery. The reason I say SP is not the problem is the players. Three pen misses, plus all these mistakes, like Bobby Reid’s giveaway. Basic stuff you can’t coach. To change horses now is a huge risk. I see SP at least going through early January. We are very close to making the jump to a viable Premier League team. Having Tete back would be a huge boost.
posted by Drago (Guest) - Monday 23rd November 2020, 5:36 PM
The 2nd goal was really good also and an assist from Kane who works hard off the ball, they all do at Spurs. I like Antonee Robinson a lot and he runs and runs all day, but we still need to cover that left side more than we are doing. Iwobi was skinning us left right and centre in the first half, we just could not deal with him. It is allright having wing backs sprinting up like Robinson and Bryan but we still need to do our defensive duties. Do we need more quality cover in January? Our midfield left side need to cover better also. Taking penalties has become a real problem and the media will be jumping over this in coming games. This is Scott Parker's fault, he should state who is penalty number one, and there was a case for Lookman taking one against his old club. Sometimes, you have to be brave and bold. It would have done Lookmans confidence a world of good. Now we have this awful nervous situation where nobody wants to take one. This awful nightmare is down to Scott Parker 100%!!!

We've not lost by more than 1 goal in the last 6 games! In the current high scoring of the premier league, this isn't bad! However, the stats would be much better in the last 6 games if we stopped making stupid mistakes. We gave away a late and silly Penalty to Sheffield when we could have won the game. We would have drawn West Ham if we didn't miss a last might penalty. We could have drawn or even beat Everton yesterday if we didn't play so naive at kick-off or missed another penalty. Forget performance if we simply removing these simple mistakes, we could be on 10points! Can we blame Parker for these pivotal moments??

If you go onto the Independant Fulham Forum there is a pice by “view from the riiverside “ that sums up the problem perfectly IMO . Parker is weak an ineffectual , the players are not learning as can be seen by the same mistakes being made over and over again irrespective of which players are picked

As murphy said you play to your oppositions strength when passing side to side in box , watching that game was just a joke, which parker must take the can for ,he tells them how to play , does no one know how to clear a ball when you have strikers like everton have?. It was just crazy in your own box ,were do i pass now? i know, across to the full back then back it comes, and does any one ever take a poke at the ball when close to the opp goal ? of course not lets do another stupid pass backwards this time and another ,etc etc.Parker has no idea how to coach this lot, listen to murphy or employ him before its to late.PS the stand look great. Once again we have more poss but dont mean nothing we look knackered and scared to try any thing that S/P might not approve of .

I am not trying to protect Parker but do remember pundits managed with hindsight! So easy for Murphy and co so say this and that. The commentator couldn’t make up his mind if the Everton formation/tactics were good or bad. When Everton were in control it was a great decision, when Everton were under pressure and we were pinging the ball into the box, it was a bad formation.

the answer is yes Parker is to blame. If you as a manager in what ever job you work out sees your team continuing to make the same mistakes without putting it right you would soon be replaced

Take the next spot kick ?....Cairney has a sweet left foot but no bottle to take a penalty, Mitro, Lookman & now Cavaleiro have failed & lost confidence..Kebano would be my pick if fit & playing if not sign up Owen, MST, & all posters we couldn't be that bad !!... We might set a new record relegted by MISSED PENS
Mitrovic needs to step up to the plate.....he is our talisman, our striker, our big bucks players. Mitro should show some character and take the penalties

Watch PELE's Video on how to take penalties and score. Hit it hard, hit it low, hit it fast to just inside either post and he would say do that and no matter how quick the goalkeeper is he cannot get down quick enough before the ball has crossed over the goal line. Just a thought!...

I quite like Parker he was an honest player and as a coach/manager he has potential but this needs a lot of developing. The premier league is not the place to develop a manager especially at our club where the players are also inexperienced at this high level. Surely, we all realise if we stick with Parker relegation will only be a matter of time. Surely, if we have any chance of surviving this season we need to make a change now to give the incoming manager a realistic chance. Leaving things later will leave us doomed, a lesson we should have learned from last time. We have three very difficult games next, if you like a free hit, give the new manager these games to have a look at his squad and then our season starts. Don’t waste these next three games with Parker. My fear is Tony Khan will do nothing and that will be our greatest failure especially as we will watch teams like Southampton, Brighton and Crystal Palace succeed. Eddie Howe, Sam Allardyce might be an option but it should be the leadership at the club to have the acumen to source out a capable manager/coach to lead the team positively forward. Yes, of course it is a risk to make the change but a greater risk to leave it how it is.
Scott Parker is going nowhere, he will be here for the foreseeable future!

We like you are going through a lean patch, lost 3 of our best players, and have not successfully replaced them so with you setting the premiership alight it looks possible that we will meet up again next season.

Why can’t they play the first 45 minutes as they do the second 45? It’s like they wander out on the pitch at the start of the game as though they’ve just come of their X Boxes or phones with no game preparation whatsoever. It’s all just too sloppy ,no focus until they get a halftime bo**ocking, which I suspect takes the form of a threat to confiscate their technology. And, as one who would give SP a bit more time I do nevertheless question his team selections sometimes, but I don’t know too much. Do agree it’s Liam’s comments below though.
Clearly the Everton team was tired in the second half with so many travelling and playing on international duty. We would have known that from the off and should have been skinning them down each wing and making them run. Wrong tactics, wrong team selection and wrong state of mind going into the game. I wonder who is to blame for that?

Mortlake you are correct , they stroll out in dribs and drabs with no cohesiveness . They never come out looking like a properly coached group of players with a positive mental attitude looking like a team determined to do well . Parker seems to rely on them doing it themselves with a lack of coaching and as Keown put it they dont appear to be drilled defensively . It is surely time for The coaching team to go and bring in an experienced professional .

Zonal defending is the first problem it leaves space and situations where two players are not sure whose ball which is what happened for Everton's first and third goal. The second problem is we move the ball forward too slowly and consequently pass the ball around in our half much to much. Thirdly our only real striker is overweight and out of form. Good management can solve all those problems
posted by The Time Is Now - Monday 23rd November 2020, 10:15 AM
We don't use zonal marking exactly.

We pick up players in and around the six yard box and man mark those but zonally mark further afield. Most clubs use this system these days and it works (except when you have a team like Fulham whose left leg does not know what the right is doing).

If you just man mark then the opposition will always make sure they have a man over.

In my opinion we lack leadership and there is no backbone in our defence. Once again there dreaded sideway moment was responsible for the first two goals with the first one,in 46 secs, resulting from a wayward pass by our defender. Why do we continue to give away goals by trying to play tippy tappy football when they do not possess the necessary skill. Similarly, when we did attack, we would eventually lose the ball, mainly due to a wayward pass. There were times in the first half that we looked like a bunch of headless chickens running around not knowing what was going on. I almost wished that the penalty was not awarded as I sat in fear wondering who would step up to the plate. Needless to say, it was probably our worst player, who had failed to muster a decent shot on goal, who picked up the ball. I sat and pondered what would happen and would he even get it on target. I forgot that we are approaching Christmas and it is the start of the pantomime season. Sure enough, Cavaleiro.comes in from an angle and, whilst attempting to kick the ball goes into a comedy routine ending up on his back with everyone wondering where the ball was. At times, we actually almost looked good in the second half but until we get proper coaching staff and a competent manager I see little hope of any significant improvement.
I would agree with you regarding leadership. It's a shame Kevin Mac isn't 5 years younger, because he's the only leader in the Club and that includes Parker.

I agree. We have needed a defensive leader who can organise for several years. We also need a hard man in central midfield to screen. Cairney is a nice bloke but no captain and there is a general lack of responsibility as a result. Parker hadn’t got the tactics to get us out of this rut. We must stop playing out as it’s Russian roulette.

Could not agree more. Daddy Kahn is obviously quite happy to pour millions into players ,and have baby Kahn have his fun like a kid in a toyshop without any bottom line accountability. Anyone in their right mind would never put so much capital into a business, then leave a novice to manage the performance of the business. Sadly, it would be doomed to fail. Please daddy Khan ,sell Fulham Football Club to someone who cares. Please give the fans their club back-and our pride.

Liam spot on with your comments, exactly how to play! I like a penalty taker looking confident not a rabbit in the headlights. Only Joe Bryan could crash one in high into the net. He is easily the most confident player in the team!!

Wake up everybody nothing is going to our change our fortunes in our future transfer activities with Tony Khan taking control. Scott Parker is doing his best his hands are tied though with signings of six loaners so late in the window with no time to prepare for busy season ahead. He is always saying in match reports this is new team we need time. This is always going to be the situation we are in every future season. Loan players return to their parent clubs then we start again another season with more loaners in very late window. How can any coach/manager whoever they may be appointed have any opportunity to build possibly successful team with these constant changes every season having to start again. Signing only two loanees is more acceptable this giving coach something to build on in training with his present squad. Playing with settled squad is always the best way forward keeping changes to a minimum only improving with quality each season. The finger cannot always be pointed at Scott Parker he is only coach not responsible for transfer activities and always late signings. Trying to stay positive is difficult having to win possibly another 9 to 10 games cannot see where they are coming from.
The Khans have made funds available , we have bought players who have been doing wonders at their clubs then they come to us and turn into crap players , the coaching staff are to blame . It doesn’t matter which players are picked the team keeps making the same mistakes over and over again . The explanation must be how we coach and how we try to play because the only constant is the coaches and manager . Parker is not learning and appears unable to change . That leaves only one possible alternative

I fear the club will do nothing and we will be left with a learning coach and a team also learning....we can’t change the whole team but we can change the coach. Probably we will make the change when it’s too late

listen to Danny Murphy at half time on Scott Parker philosophy and at the end of the game about the penalty. Scott Parker does not seem to learn. I assume that Tom Carney was injured if not what was the reason for leaving Cavaleiro (the headless chicken) on. Lookman seemed to be playing to orders rather than doing what he is good at (running at defences and crossing the ball. Why did Harrison Reed and Lemina start ahead of Anguissa and Loft House Cheek. One of the best performances recently we had Bryan playing in front of Robertson (surely that would have protected that left side of ours that was extremely vulnerable in the first half. As I say just listen to Danny talking about the defence (he knows what he is talking about)
Danny was so right

The worrying thing about our players lately is that they are lacking in confidence when taking responsibility. Who takes the penalty, Mitro, Lookman, Cairney, etc??? We have to nip this epidemic in the bud because everyone is starting to take notice. 3 penalties missed and counting. We are the laughing stock of this premiership now, and no doubt that the reputation for wimping out will stick. This is all down to Scott Parker who really is showing his inexperience in man-management. Lookman should have been encouraged to take this one, especially against his old club Everton. Now we have a terrible situation leading on to future games and serious doubts in players minds. Mentally we are shot and devoid of ideas and if we are not careful, our nice guy and nice club reputation will be known as wimp outs which is really bad and not good for confidence. We look good and play nice football but it simply is not enough now. There is no riot act Parker can throw in the direction of the dressing room because our players will not have a clue what went wrong today. This week is a lesson about good management and tactical awareness which Parker and coaching staff need to address. That can only happen if we know how to fix it. I am not sure anymore if our coaching team know how to fix things? For the record, Mitrovic looked slow and just not on it. De Bruyne was correct in what he said after the City loss to Spurs, and that players are tired after internationals and travelling. Kamara would have been a better option down the middle in my opinion and we also have Kebano and others on the bench. Sometimes a bold and fresh approach is the way to go. Are we brave and bold and willing to take a chance these days? Not on your nelly!!!
posted by OWEN (Guest) - Sunday 22nd November 2020, 8:04 PM

Okay' i got that detail wrong but the fact remains, who takes penalties now? This situation has gotten worse because management needs to say something...

Owen might have watched the game but then he replays the game in much detail in his mind... Then his mind produces an essay of total horse s###, then spends 30-60mins putting it on here for all to look in total amazement.
posted by Burt (Guest) - Sunday 22nd November 2020, 9:07 PM
Owen these are ment to be Professional football players. Well payed professionals Parker shouldn't have to be on there backs or push them around in a pram ffs. They got there act together after half time. Because they got told off at half time. That says everything about the type of players Fulham have at the club. 2 players who shouldn't have started "Cav & Lemina". But in hindsight... Etc
posted by Burt (Guest) - Sunday 22nd November 2020, 9:20 PM
Burt' the fact remains' Lookman should have been made to take that penalty, and it would have done his confidence no end if converted, or Mitrovic our number 1 penalty taker might have taken responsibility? Now we have a situation going onto the next games which isn't healthy for the mindset if that makes sense? This situation has everything to do with management 100%. Parker has let things fester around important decisions and now he must intervene. It is a difficult situation now because 3 different players have missed penalties one after the other. The media will be all over this now and it will put doubts in players minds. There is much more to management than kicking a football around Motspur and Parker is finding out the hard way. He should have nipped this problem in the bud promptly by telling who is to take penalties...
posted by OWEN (Guest) - Sunday 22nd November 2020, 10:45 PM
As i speak, Sky is all over our penalty woes. They have pointed out 16 penalty misses by Fulham dating back to the Championship also. Mitrovic is on his 3rd missed penalty and counting. Lookman said he would put it right next game, he should have been made too. Terrible and torrid times we are in...
