There is only so much weeping and wallowing a young man should do, and i feel we can put in a cheeky offer for a tearful and so sad Ollie Watkins. I hear that the Brentford fund-ISA department is slapping the ridiculous fee of 50 million on Watkins. See the trouble you get yourself into when you play with monopoly money and pretend houses Buzz Bee?? A more realistic proper money offer of 18-20 million for the scopey and talented Watkins is more than enough surely? Okay' chuck in a box of 'jammy-dodgers' will send Ollie's mum into raptures of joy, and certainly, sweeten the deal. With free postage and packaging and shave some tax off the vat bill will see happy days for both sides. Why pay extortionate fee's to the money men and greedy agents for sealing a deal like this one, simples i say! Ollie' a happy ending is yours to grasp, say yes to Fulham and build on your growing reputation by signing for Fulham. Legendary status and great riches awaits you 'Sir Ollie Watkins' Just sign for Fulham and join an illustrious, and ambitious team proud to grace the green-fields of Craven Cottage. Oh' Ollie' what say thee lad' 'what say thee'...

Apparently We are talking to Spurs about Sess returning on loan and are going to sign Harrison Reed for £8 million, also looking for a central defender to play alongside Hector r

Harrison Reed plus a CB plus a RB. Ream and Odoi/Christie aren’t Premier League level. LeMarchand isn’t Championship level. Mawson has never impressed and chronically injured. We don’t need to spend beyond that.

To be honest we need like 3 CB. But at least one quality CB would certainly be huge. If no one else 1 CB; then I agree a RB and a second FW. Also our midfield is very thin, who do we have? Reed, Cairney, Onomah... and then the desert... Arter, Johansen, McDonald, ugh!

Arter to sign new contract,WHAT,he will be 31 in a couple of months and is definitely not a premier player, a spot of nepotism maybe.

It will be interesting to see if Arsenal make any multi million pound purchases now that they have saved money by laying off 55 backroom staff . Meanwhile Ozil takes £350 K a week and can’t be arsed to try , maybe he should resign his wages probably would cover for all 55 staff . Football can be a dirty business

To be fair I said all along he should be judged at the end of the season, managers are judged /employed by results. No doubt he’s made mistakes in his first full season but as long as you learn by them that’s what life is about. I wish him well for next season and should be judged at the end of the season not after 10 games.

Well done and congratulations to Parker, his staff and all the players. A very successful season. But and it's an enormous but, I have not enjoyed this season. It's been boring and littered with below par performances. The worst game for me was WBA away. Playoffs guaranteed. Nothing to lose and everything to gain. So many fans were dying for Parker to go for it. Of course we didn't, we gained a pointless point and waved goodbye to WBA and automatic promotion. Even before the final I had lost interest and felt whatever will be will be. Enjoyed the Cardiff away game and the final. Great, great goals and everybody is up including me. Realistically, staying up on goal difference would amount to success so I anticipate another unejoyable season, and will be craving for flair football but in all honesty outside the top six, who would that be last season? Sheffield United?

At the Premier League’s Annual General Meeting today, Shareholders agreed to rules relating to VAR and substitute players for the 2020/21 season.

Shareholders unanimously approved the implementation of VAR, in line with the full FIFA VAR protocol.

Clubs also agreed to revert back to using up to three substitute players per match, with a maximum of seven substitutes on the bench.

So we paid c. £30m for Anguissa and the same sort of money for Seri / MdeM - pretty much what Bees paid for their entire cup final squad. So now what? Well, recent press reports have stated we “wasted £100m en route to relegation” and there were “significant errors in the transfer market.” So what? So Arsenal’s famed global scout, Francis Cagigao and recruitment specialist, Brian McDermott have been released. How much better would they prove to be than Talbot and son? Significantly better? I think so.

Watched the final with spanish commentary. The anguissa issue was brought up from the point of view of villareal interest pointing out his value would increase significantly if we were promoted. Apparantly hes doing very well and has little interest leaving the costa blanca.

You never know, Parkers backroom team have made better players of Kamara, Onamah and Rodak so why not Anguissa and Seri if he comes home too?

Would all be very sensible moves. I'm still not convinced by Kamara, he did pretty well on Tuesday night, but didn't influence a huge amount. Seri got an extraordinarily bad reputation after last season for giving the ball away too much. The problem was, centre-backs/goalkeepers would absolutely ping the ball to his midriff, making it almost impossible to control. A slower pace that we have now would surely help him.

Kebano has just clinched a 2 year extension. Well deserved and suggests the promotion team will be rewarded instead of replaced. I'd be okay seeing Zambo back, he began to look good under Parker. AK47 is a very valuable player if used right. 90mins will never be the way with him. last 15 to bully tired defenders, well he would strike the fear of god into anyone.

I don't expect that you would have expected to hear from me, after Tuesday's disaster for my club, but I really thought that we would beat you quite easily, and if hadn't have been for the referee, we would probably have won, as two of your players should have been sent off, and as he didn't it gave you lot the advantage, and it looked like your experience of a previous final gave you the edge. Through gritted teeth, I must say well done, and hopefully, providing that we don't lose half of our squad, we will be joining you in the Premier League, where we will start beating you all over again. Come on you beeeeeez

Almost gracious, but thanks nevertheless for your congratulations. Think it’s a bit rich claiming ‘foul’ regarding the refs decision. You well know, that over a season you win a few and lose a few, claiming, ‘We would have won if’ is a bit wet. Think of all the decisions that have gone your way. Be a man don’t look for excuses, you were completely out played on the night. Tactically and technically. Good luck this season and who knows we might see you in the PL in 22.

Please do not be disrespectful to Brentford. They are a great team as we can and should acknowledge, they performed excellently and exciting nearly all season and were favourites to be promoted for a long time. Someone had to lose. We won on the day. The tactics of SP in the final were spot on. Brentford have a great bunch of players and I wish them success for the future. Just to let readers know I am a FFC man and been so since 1955. I still Referee in Devon and I am registered with Devon FA and Surrey FA. I was born in Putney and could see FFC's ground.

Firstly congratulations to Scott Parker and he’s staff, against all the doubters on this site asking for he’s head every time we don’t get a result, thing is after the restart we started exactly the same against Brentford and like yesterday didn’t score, difference is we didn’t let them back into the game, these games are dictated to by refs decisions and luck,Reed lucky to stay on the pitch. Statistically Parker has been more successful than Slav having gained promotion at first attempt. No doubt he won’t last the season with a very short break needing several new signings to bed in as we start against the best players and clubs in the world with a much larger budget than us. Hope I’m wrong COYW

While we celebrate the promotion and a jackpot of £140m many millions of people are losing their jobs, including 55 today at Arsenal. I can understand a small business cutting their staff as they would otherwise have to sell their house to pay their salary, but a top premier league club need to cut 55 people from their payroll?? These are probably dinner ladies and cleaners earning probably less than 30k a year, and maybe much less. I am not against capitalism but at times like that, all Arsenal would need to do is To swap a experienced player they’d like to buy with a young and upcoming professional to more than balance the book. 55 people - maybe £2m salary a year. So instead of buying a player on 8m salary get someone on 6m. Rich clubs need to do more at times like this. I bet the next news we hear from Arsenal is they are buying a £55m player!! Best of luck to the 55 dinner ladies, ticket office people and cleaners, etc being released of their job today!

In this day and age where everybody is cutting their cloth it appears that top footballers managers and those in the hierarchy particularly the premiership dont give a s..t.One method is not to pay agents fees which in many cases amounts to 10/15% on top of transfer fees,a massive savings there. Results payment would be another idea.

Been trying to think of a post to write. One that will appease those who want me to scoff humble pie, but also one that is still true to my opinion about the club. First of all, what a game that was, Parker showed that he can have a plan B and has been impressive since the Covid break - Fully deserved result, well done to all involved. Players like Kebano, bryan and onomah have proven me wrong over the last month. I was their biggest critic, but my god did Joe Bryan make up for some of his errors earlier in the season, and Kebano bailed us out time and time again. I’d like to apologise to all 3 players, they really pulled out all the stops when it mattered and they are the type of players you want on your team. I will get onboard with Parker now, even if I am still not his biggest fan - not because of his achievements, but because of his style of play which is slow and boring, but is beginning to work! Our defence looks solid and that is something we have needed for a long time. Christie has impressed but I do still feel we need an other right back. Going forward, let’s hope we bring in one or two quality additions but keep the bulk of the promotion team together. I do hope Tony Khan has learnt from last time. One thing I would like to see improve, is for SP to get the most out of our 'best' players. He has done it with the fringe players, but if he could get our key ones firing on all cylinders, we could really push on from here. We obviously needed time for the constant rotating door of players to gel, and it’s a shame the summer break is so short because we will miss out on the opportunity to get business done early this year, which is why it is even more key to keep the bulk of the promotion squad together. Anyway.. what a game! what a night! what a performance and what an unlikely hero! Come on Fulham!

Well, well, what a fantastic result. However, we can only pray that we don't experience a repeat from last year! We'll need to make some signings, obviously, as not the whole squad is capable to perform in the Premier League. My priorities, and maybe even realistic targets from relegated teams, and Championship clubs! What do you think?: 1. Harrison Reed - what a fantastic performance from him this season. Deserves to play in the Premier League, hopefully we can snatch him up before Hojbjerg moves to Spurs. 2. RB - Odoi and Christie aren't going to be up to it. Max Aarons is probably unrealistic, but Sam Byram (also Norwich) has decent Premier League experience. Janmaat is a much more experienced option from Watford. 3. Attacking depth - Knockaert, Cavaleiro, Kamara - probably not quite good enough at the top level. Sarr and Success from Watford could do a job, but any of the front three from Brentford, B.M.W. will surely get snapped up soon!

You mad no mention of Ream, in my opinion he's a major liability who gives careless balls away and fankly he doesn't seem to be motivated anymore. Shame but bi bi Tim.

Totally agree, but Mawson and Hector are 'adequate' enough for now. I'd say our priorities are the three above. Ream's legs are definitely gone though!

Personally can't comment on Mawson but where has he been since we signed him? Either warming the bench or on the physio table. Love Ream but probably not good enough. Think we might need someone to partner Hector. But at least we have Hector, what a player.

Just saw reports linking us with Sessegnon on loan, and Walker-Peters, both from Spurs. The latter has been hugely impressive since the restart, and would be a fantastic signing. A surprise move for John Stones? He has great feet, and despite being error-prone, I still feel he's got a huge amount of potential. Calum Chambers also isn't getting any game time at Arsenal!

Isn't Mawson right footed? Meaning you coudn't play him along side Hector if he is.

Wait, are you suggesting that two right-footed professional centre-backs are incapable of playing together? I agree, having a predominantly left-footed centre-back on the left is preferable...it sure ain't impossible though.

Exactly Dan; a left footed centre back on the left is preferable. I would go one further and say extremely important and most preferable ;0). Can't think of too many teams that play four across the back who have two left or two right footed centre backs. Can you?

Sorry Will ;0).

Still not pro-Parker but extremely happy with last night's result and the promotion to the Prem. Congratulations to him and I wish him every success for next season with Fulham.

BTW if you listen to Scott's interview from last night carefully, you will hear that it was one of the coaching team's ideas for Bryan to shoot if we had a free kick in that position but Parker's decision for him to take the shot when he did. I think we tried something similar aganst Cardiff or Sheff. Weds.

Who cares though, we are back in the Prem for a minimum of 38 games and win, lose or draw we will be entertained at a completely different level from September. Looking forward to it immensely and hopefully we can start going back to games after Christmas.

these are strange times and an even shorter close season means the hard work starts now. Yes the players might get a couple of weeks without football but that's all. The club's work for the new season begins today. We do not want all this work to get back to the PL to go wrong like last time. We do need to strengthen our squad considerably with at least four core players being added to the squad/team. Of course there are doubts about Parker's capability as a manager in the PL perhaps he will do another Joka and we will be looking for a new manager (Eddie Howe) by Christmas. Enjoy the close season Fulham fans last night was a truly memorable match and all the credit goes to the players and coaching team for that. They have earned respect for this achievement.

Both these players were sent on loan when we were relegated. Seri to Galataseri in Turkey and Angguissa to Villareal in Spain. According to reports , both have done well, and the clubs they are at want to sign them. I assume everyone was waiting to see whether Fulham would be promoted before a decision is made on their future. I expect now we know, we may be hearing soon whether they will return or be sold.

I really like the recent pitch side interviews with Parker. The interviews were less formal, compare to behind a desk, and provided more insight into the game and the managers thinking. As such, it has really shone a light on Parker. He’s calm (sometimes maybe too calm for some of us), well spoken and most important of all, know the game so well. He masterminded the free kick last night. He told the team to play triangles on either side of the pitch to contain Brentford attack. Previously he gave technical insight on how to play Cardiff at their ground. He knows he’s football and very analytical. I can see how he out thought Brentford last night and Bielsa away earlier in the season. He’s a technical genius. Those wanting him out really need to think again. He’s done better than Lampard Or Gerrard in his first season and I would not be surprised if Spurs at some point soon knocking into the door for him!
Replies
So you think Spurs might be looking at Parker for the future? Let's see, isn't it usual for Spurs to take our successes and turn them into failures? The road from Fulham to Spurs is not usually a good trip, ask Ryan Sessenong oh and maybe Josh Onamah who's found the opposite journey works for him

Fulham won promotion to the Premier League five minutes ago and already there are people on this site slagging of the very players and management team that have taken us there.

Yes the team needs strengthening; any team going up to a better league will but for crying out loud, at least enjoy the moment for a few days before coming on this board and dictating which players are not good enough to keep us in the top flight.

Well done Fulham, well done Scott and his coaching team and dare I say it (or write it), well done Tony Khan. Hopefully, the players and staff will have time to enjoy THEIR SUCCESS before they read some of the crap on this board.

Good post MST. I have not been a fan of Parker’s style of play but have never called him useless, rubbish or other names. He has achieved his goal and I am delighted for him. We have posters on here who praise him when we win and give him dogs abuse if we lose. These fence sitters are now sharpening the long knives ready for next season. Parker knows what he wants to do with the team so let him get on with it. Parker has to date been successful, let’s get behind him, and let him manage. It would be nice if the blame culture mob celebrate last night’s victory and give praise where it’s due.

Hahaha. I must have misunderstood your many postings. My point was you have continuously posted that Parker was all but useless and presumably not fit for purpose, therefore we’d be better off with him somewhere else. Mute point, but that suggests to me a Parker Out stance. What else would you be advocating, that he somehow gets better. Your posting today was not trite, made no reference to your previous stance, therefore not exactly humble or contrite merely an acknowledgement that Scott and the team did well. I know that for some reason you have something of a following on here, but having read many of your postings over the years I have always thought you pompous, self opinionated and not very knowledgeable, worst of all a terrible opportunist, hence my highlighting the issue now. Anyway, as you would say, nothing personal, just my opinion....Sorted and rant over. Anyway let’s. hope I’m right and your reservations are misguided and we get to enjoy many years in the top flight.

Strange how I felt about them when there was two games to go. I believed they were a better team than WBA and certainly more exciting than us. I wanted them to finish second. With 2 games remaining it was theirs for the taking. WBA were resigned to the playoffs. But they lost to Stoke so Back in WBAs hands but they Drew with a poor QPR and all Brentford needed was a win against Barnsley but lost. Now so much has been made of their 2 wins against us, the first we were battered. But it's always hard to beat any team 3 times in a season. Imagine if we had won just one of those league games. We finish second, Bees go into playoffs and maybe win against Cardiff and WBA. Ironic that beating us twice has cost them the Premier League dream.

I think we played decent at times last night. The center backs we have worries me, sadly they are not top class quality. I think our keep is a liability also. I've seen Bryan improve which makes me think we have a future England call up for him. i.m curious to see what our loanee might do coming back from villareal if he is played in the middle. I personally think we need to spend money on 2 central defenders and a better goal keeper. I think if Mirto gets the service he will again score goals but we need another good striker to give him better competition. I think we need about 5 players but to gradually integrate them into the team unless they have premiership experience already. I suggest go look at the top 2 teams in croatia and the second division of spain/germany/Portugal for talent. We need to do it right this time. I dont think with the current players that we will be good enough to stay up because collectively we dont always work hard and that can be a problem we have inconsistent center backs who are not top class. My concern is that we will conceded a lot of goals with the defenders and keeper we have. I dont mind if we get Reed to stay from Southampton. It is going to be a tough season and every game is going to be very hard i am sure the players will have to work very hard this coming season to earn there money. MR CHAIRMAN. please dont be afraid to spend money because you are going to have to. BUT DONT listen to the computer guy. send your scouts out and listen to PARKER. Even though my opinion is still out on him. HE did what you would want a manager he got his team back to the top division in his 1st full season. Well done Parker.

I believe in the law of averages,as you say to beat another team three times in one season the L/of/A says no.

We are a premier league team now. Should we be looking at Spanish second league and Croatia for players?? I think we are better than that now. We need to reward the current class of 2020. We need to give them a chance to excel in the premier league. The best signing we could make is Harrison Reed. He crystallises the team and with him in the team, we might not win but we will not be battered. I think Kamara could be a surprise package this time. And Cav and knockheart will want to prove themselves again in the top league. Only spend on what we need and buy early this time!!

Though Rodak has done very well we need a top keeper. We need a couple of top centre backs and a top right back. In midfield we need to keep Harrison Reed what ever Southampton ask. We also need a top midfield playmaker. Mitro needs a class deputy. Scott has to decide in the cold light of day if he want our three players out on loan back. Under his guidance they may look as good as the money we paid for them.

No need to gloat at the Brentford fans, their team played some great football over the season and I for one hope that they do make it next year. And can we all please stop criticising Scott Parker, he got his tactics spot on last night and though it will be tough to stay up I’m sure he knows where we need to be strengthened . But for know just enjoy what in the end turned out to be a very good season.

He cost us a point in the opener at Barnsley, and at least few others by letting his man get goalside. He was benched for a match or two with Odoi at LB. He proved his class today.

Bettinelli was not blameless in the goal. That was the start of his demise. Rodak is good enough for the Premier League.

That is very unfair on Fulham. Brentford played badly because we did not allow them the space to play their open attacking football. Brilliant Scott Parker tactic and the players ability to follow them defeated Brentford not any failing by them.

It has been tough going since the Leeds Utd game, obviously Scott had a masterplan in place and it has been ‘lockdown’ football. Lots of games where we were only getting one shot on target per game and it was so hard to watch except a couple of games (shef wed for eg) but ultimately we have achieved the prize we required as a target at the start of the season. Tactically spot on shutting down Brentford tonight, it was a frustrating 90 minutes but give credit to a Brentford side who lit the league alight this season, we shut down their threats (Watkins, benhrama). I have been a harsh critic of Scott since the season resumed as it has been frustrating football to watch. Maybe he can get some players in within the next four weeks before the season starts to add to our squad who may be able to pull off the tactics better but can’t feel anything but pride at what we have achieved tonight COYW. I mentioned it was essential to get a centre back in previously vertongen on a free would be great but maybe bit of a stretch, Cahill seems to have been injured most of the season at palace and been mentioned previously, we need urgent premier league expertise at the back. Mawson we haven’t really seen enough of to be fair. Not sure what anguissa and seri are up to now but I wasn’t particularly impressed what I saw if them previously. Just think a few players here and there up until January could be enough for now. It’s quick turnaround and we go again in about a months time ;) Any Brentford fans still around hope to play you in the premier league in the future - if you keep the same squad I can’t see you not be promoted - hopefully we can stay up and see you up there
Replies
Seri and Anguissa have both done well at their respective loan clubs. Galatasary in Turkey and Villareal in Spain. Reports say that both these clubs want to sign them. Nothing has been mentioned about them. and a decision as their future was put on hold until it was known whether or not we would get promotion. We should soon now know whether they will return or be sold.

We upset a lot of people last !!!! Good the majority probably never watch much championship and Don’t understand that any team can beat any team in this league. Outplayed them out thought. Them think our experience was the difference we both played as I expected them to bees. Tend to kick ball up to front three. Did not allow to much of that if you have possession. Presume will be Scott’s pattern. Next season ( full marks to bees manager took it on the chin no complaints top man ) if they keep there squad. Should make it interesting comment if they had lost to us at cottage They might have made it Through playoffs Although cardiff made it tough for us at cottage

I kind of admire your sentiments but we aren't gonna profit on the loanees and I really don't think we need to steam in and get 6 new ones...we have to learn our lessons, it didn't work last time so why do it again. Wolves and Sheff Utd have built on the team spirit that put them there...time to follow suit. I'd really like us to find a foil for Mitrovic though.

Absolutely delighted and what a fabulous free kick to break the deadlock. Now, please Mr Tony Khan, don't go rushing to spend, spend, spend and break the winning mentality that's been built. Of course we'll need some strengthening but don't overdo it this time, remember the basis of this squad took us up, the mercenaries that we're brought in took us down....HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN.

I hope Scott tells Tony where he wants to strengthen and leave it like that.

Congratulations to the players and coaching staff and especially to Scott Parker. They got the tactics pretty much spot on. Some of the challenges were ugly and we'll have to be careful next season with VAR likely to catch out the new boys. I for one wouldn't mind playing tonight's opponents in the PL in 2021/22... it will at least mean we'll have stayed up. Brentford have been pretty consistent over recent seasons and always seem to find the right manager. Maybe we've found ours now. We share your emotion, Scott. Thank you for the hard work put in in this remarkable season.
