Bassey isn't quite up to speed as yet and in any case we should be doing better around Cesco in the middle of defence and they gave us problems all afternoon. Cuenca lunging tackles is all he is good at and his player awareness around him is schoolboy, he will be benched! Our right-hand side is a big problem and it always has been with Castagne down there. My biggest problem with Castagne is that he brings very little in attack. Sometimes you have to give it to the opposition and they will cut you open and score but saying that we do get balls and waste balls getting them across and Castagne is wasteful. Glad for Kevin that he broke his duck and scored a pearler but we got caught sucker-punch and these things happen. Bring Tete back after injury and Oscar Bobb right winger and you will see a difference. I don't always get Marco and substiutions and he could have left Smith Rowe on for link ups with Kevin and Chuka. Cuenca was the main fault why we lost and to get us back into this game Castagne needs to do better in those gilt-edged positions up that right side. Apart from his penalty Jimenez brings not a lot in 90 minutes.

I can’t believe the Ref really gave their penalty because of the tug on the. Shirt - that’s so soft. I want to know what the ref said to the VAR immediately after giving the penalty?? Feels like we been cheated here, again.

Shame Fulham gave too much space to Cuna their best player. Also not enough belief going forward and don't look like scoring. Bias and ref favours Man U doesn't help. Never mind onto the next and this was always going to be tough after their confidence beating Arsenal. Overall so fed up with favouritisms to top teams especially commentators.

So what new?/? not a lot except after looking at players since middle of december when marco sed not signing till FFc show me what there intentions are ,we have one player who might be injury prone , we will see but????? good age but City have teied him /up like a kipper ,sell on fee , any other rights, so if we sell will make at least a fiver profit. So looks like marco has no intentios of signing and who can blame him , Pepi still haggling , the guy from italy still in dream format mid/f , what bothers me is can bobb be another rowe smith? cheered by his old club bought for decent dosh but sits on bench on account quite average hope not , it anoyes me watching clubs like brighton bournmouth villa forrest, palace etc buying players who seem to make a profit in one season ,but us we just get impact players that resemble a leaf floating down from an oak tree , so much talked about but hardly ever deliver. so which man-utd will turn up today ???. atonking or draw??.has to be 95 min goal or pen .

Fcuk me Bish, bet you can’t wait for us to lose today!! In case you hadn’t noticed, ESR has been one of our best players this season! Bobb broke his leg in training - doesn’t make him injury prone. Also, if you listen to Marco’s interview, he is over the moon with Bobb signing. Jeez!

I was somewhat bemused when I read posters comments on the Brighton game and assumed that I must have been watching a totally different game. For the first 27 minutes we dominated the game with some excellent possession and generally forcing Brighton to defend. Unfortunately, for all our possession we failed to capitalise and spurned a couple of decent chances. Then, typical of Fulham’s sportsmanship two defenders got caught out short passing on the edge of our own penalty and lost possession resulting in the ball reaching Atari who worked his way across the penalty area and fired in a terrific shot which Leno would have stopped if he had just stood upright instead of bending down. However, Leno made a couple of excellent saves and apart from the goal he had an excellent game. Brighton frustrated Fulham in the second half by parking the bus in their penalty area and then broke with speed and twice appeared on the verge of scoring with one attempt headed off the line. The introduction of Sessegnon, Chukwueze followed Cairney saw a vast improvement which led to our equaliser when Anderson hit a 70 metre plus ball deep into the Brighton half which Chukwueze latched onto and slotted home from an acute angle finally beating the keeper who had kept Brighton in the game with some excellent saves. Within a minute, following Fulham losing the ball when attacking, Brighton breaking quickly with the ball hit to Welbeck, still an excellent centre forward, who despite the close attention of two Fulham defenders calmly beating Leno. However, after a close scrutiny by VAR, we got lucky with the goal being ruled out due to part of Welbeck’s big toe being offside when he received the ball. The game subsequently appeared to be fizzling out for a draw when Josh King, a late substitute, drew a foul some 25 yards from the Brighton goal which was converted with an excellent strike by Wilson, yet again. In my opinion a draw would have been a fair result but we got lucky. However, for some posters ,to suggest Brighton deserved to win beggars belief. Tomorrow we face ManU and we have a terrible record against them, going back to the Busby Babes. If I was a betting man I would make the 7-4 on to win and even one point at be beyond our grasp.
Replies
Very good game review. Still think Fulham will pull it off tomorrow. If you really don’t fancy Fulham then do the draw. I’ve never backed against Fulham even in the darkest times.

Our record isn't great against them but we have reasons to be cheerful and more than hopeful, looking at the possible team sheet. Tete i understand will be ready and waiting on the bench and he could play a part at some point. Sorry to hear about Chukweze's mum passed away and maybe this is a game he cannot attend, every footballer is different and some will want to play and some chose not to. These top games bring out the best in Marco and he likes to put extra effort and detail in how we set up and we will come out showing maximum discipline for sure. Kevin is an enigma and we know there is a good player in him and one day he will come out of his shell and show us what he really can do and maybe this game will be the one where he introduces himself properly. I think that the likes of Chukwueze in the shadows, waiting in the wings could eventually wake up the footballer we know he is. A few pieces of the jigsaw will have to click together for Kevin, for example, his passing game needs to come together and his movement in between the lines and to finish a move in a decisive and clinical manner with a goal will see kevin burst onto the scene properly. The players will know this game is extra special because it's man utd and it brings out the best in everybody taking part.

This is a very critical time for our club, as we could well lose both our Manager and our top scorer, both of whom are out of contract at the end of this season. That would be nothing short of a disaster. Prediction for a game tomorrow at Old Trafford - 1 - 1 draw. At some point Michael Carrick has got to come down to earth.

We have the creativity to do well but this game is a step up. We can get a result if we defend better and i mean much better than playing Brighton at home. There can't be a 'how did we win that or how did they not win that if you know what i mean. Patrick Dorgu is the man flying for them but he is injured which might be good for us. Slightly worried down that right side with Castagne who sometimes struggle against quick flankers but it is what it is.

My 1st trip to old Trafford I was still at school midweek fa cup replay we lost 1-0 greenhoff I think was so excited mainly stand the old stretford end was very vocal. Next time again fa cup with keegan the year they did the treble(another 1-0 defeat) Andy Cole ,Louis Saha destroyed them on our opening fixture in the premier league another defeat (3-2) then the famous 3-1 win about time with Lee Clark scoring. Not very memorable trips until our fa cup defeat when Mitro lost it we lost again but won last year or year before in fa cup most of the other games up there not so memorable for us. They’re on form but fancy us for a point tomorrow
Replies
It is not a team we have beaten very often like our results against most of the top teams. I know things have changed and we now give top teams a good game and beat them much more often than we used to, so we have a good chance, but if we attack to aggressively we could get hammered. I am sure Marco will know the right tactical formula to win it is up to the players to enact it.

Any military people on this site? These are the military’s phonetic alphabet. The quick feet of Oscar Bobb could well propel us to the next level and i didn't think i would be saying any of this in one of the wettest and coldest month of January. My only worry about Oscar Bobb is his quick feet believe it or not and it looks like the clunkiest of defenders will find Oscar too quick and he will be kicked left right and centre risking injury on the pitch. That is the negative out the way! The plus side is that Oscar will win us penalties galore providing he goes to ground in the penalty area and he will get penalties. I cannot see a need to swop Oscar left because we have enough left sided wingers and players that can play left in plenty. Oscar will ply his trade down on the right side i think and the right side will give us plenty more opportunities to get more goals, providing we have the players taking those chances that will come from Oscar. Can we win something with more wingers than slice bread? Marco Silva thinks so and who are we to doubt him?

Oscar sounds and looks exciting and we hope he lives up to all the hype and let's hope Oscar is a name to go down in a Fulham history short on silverware. We deserve something like Palace have achieved but firstly we have to earn it and now perhaps we might have a team that can win silverware. Maybe we still need another striker to do it, though we will see.

The way that Oscar spoke after his signing, it seems that Marco sold the club to him, and as to our future plans, which doesn't sound like the jargon of a manager that was intending to leave our club in the summer. Wasn't it a case of Marco saying that he wouldn't be staying without significant signings, and the first one has just crossed the threshold, so could there be others, even if the Pepi deal falls through, which will be a well kept secret ?

I'm so pleased with the Oscar Bobb signing, as it could be that it might severally change minds at Fulham. I am praying against the odds, that one more decent signing, and we will get both Harry, and even more importantly Marco to renew their contracts, and we will all be as pleased as punch, at least until the summer. Personally I'm a bit anti European football of all varieties, as clubs like us, at present, just don't have the strength in depth to survive a relegation battle, as well. I would rather win a trophy like the FA Cup, than venture in Europe.

I hope it’s not really true that Fulham are so stubborn that they are refusing to pay an extra million euros over the Pepi transfer? We either want him or not. If we do, in this crazy transfer market, we’d have to swallow our pride and up the ante. If we have don’t, we should just fold and walk away. I hear a couple of other premier league clubs are also keen on him. The 800k can easily be recovered from the players contract over 5 years. I suspect we have some doubts about the player.

Looks like we are trying to do all our transfer business this year in January. Good idea methinks; meaning I doubt we’ll sign too much (if anyone) in the summer. Means these new guys will get a good pre-season and hit the ground running next season. Also will likely convince Marco to sign his new contract and may help with final push for Europe this season.
Replies
MST, i would have liked us to hold back on a striker until the summer and wait for Muniz and give him half a season. We can afford to wait and just to give Muniz plenty of time. It is still a big gamble in January, whether we get a striker that can score 20 goals a season. Remember what we get now will most likely be our lot and the khans wallets might not open again for a long while.

May i start this one with a famous quote by 'Pulilius Syrus' if i may. ;The person who receives the most favours is the one who knows how to return them.; On paper we don't need Sterling but here is another quote' "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth,". Stirling is more of a left winger and his favoured foot is his right and that is excellent for when we need him when injuries are plentiful when we make Europe and i think there is a good chance that we will. Remember the quote about a favour? And we would be doing Stirling a massive favour by keeping him in London near to his kids who apprently are settled in London. Sterling comes with a vast of experience and you can't buy that. We are seeing our big signing Kevin panting and puffing and basically trying to blow the house down with little and minimal effect. Not saying get Sterling in and bench Kevin, on the contrary, we tell Sterling where he stands in this team and frustrating for him he will have to wait his turn and believe me, his chance will come when we have injuries. Sterling is also versatile and we can move him around whenever. I am giving away free advice here so don't look a gift horse, lol. Any problems and you can consult our in the house team coach on here, TTIN, and he will put you straight about tactics etc, i know nothing! "Adiós muchachos"!!!

Wish Adama good luck! A lot of fans didn't like him but sometimes I think that's a bit unfair. He is what he is. He will hold onto the ball sometimes too long, he will make the wrong pass at times and he will miss big goal chances. We forget the good things he does. He scored a few really good goals. He scares the defenders to bits therefore, creating space for other players. He has some really good assist. I don't recall him throwing his toys out despite spending a lot of time on the bench. We got him free. Paid him a couple of years salary and now recouped some of that back in the transfer fee. Overall - I will remember Adama as a Fulham player positively and I think he can leave with pride! I wish him well at West Ham!! p.s. where's Pepi and Bobb?!

Traore was more of an assist winger and that was all requested and required from him by Marco. Believe it or not Traore wasn't the worst assist player and infact he delevered decent passes and crosses and mores the pity whoever was in the box at the time didn't make those decent deliveries count and this is our problem in the middle. How many true fans watch and know their football? Answer me this; Robinson v Traore, who is more accurate at passing a football? Traore is more accurate by a country mile and if any Fulham fan can prove through any stats that i am wrong, i will quit talking about football. Traore was way off the mark at kicking a ball in between two post and a net but every man and his dog know this.

The media are becoming obsessed with the news, that our Harry is a free agent in the summer, and the world is his oyster in June. I think that dear Harry, ought to give his move away from Fulham a lot of thought. His game suits us, and let's not forget that he hasn't reached what is his now standard, overnight, it has taken a few seasons to accomplish, and it will mean starting all over again with a new club. HW,seems extremely happy here at Fulham, and it's possible that with a new club, he would be the odd one out for a while, and benches are quite uncomfortable.

It looks like Oscar Bobb is Traore's replacement and take the emotion out of it, Oscar Bobb is the better upgrade by a country mile looking at his youtube video. Bobb is both right footed and left and this is Marco's dream player as he likes to swop around sometimes. Fulham are looking more like the club for entertainers and entertaining the neutrals is not a bad advert for Fulham. I don't know if Oscar Bobb can score a few goals too, wingers don't have a habit for prolific scoring but we are going to love this guy because he is a showman with good assists. 27 million pounds well spent.

Totally different player and position is our Oscar Bobb. I finally think i sussed why we want to sign or have signed Bobb. Adama Traore is our part time right winger who is useful for when we need the pace down the right and for those crosses he can whip in but Traore and contract is almost up anyway and it makes perfect sense to sell him on now before it turns into a free. We have the useful Castagne at right back but he is limited to a degree and Oscar Bobb would be perfect at right wing and he will have much more to his game than Traore. Tete when fit is probably our first choice at right back and he possesses a lot more pace than Castagne but again the signing of Oscar Bobb will give us more playing power down that right side. I think we were crying out for more offensive options down that right side and not rely on our powerful left side. Our opponents will have a lot more to think about.

We don't need to buy anyone in this window. Fine, if a good opportunity comes along we can avail of it. Bournemouth have just sold their best player and need a replacement, so no comparison. As I said before our main priorities should be internal and secure Marco, Harry and Chuckuwese

Agree old Bloke, we don't necessarily need a striker in this window and if we get one ther might not be money available in the summer window when there are more opportunities to find somebody we know can deliver 20 goals which is a lottery in any time. We have gotten this far and 34 points and Muniz will be back in Feb. Mumiz i feel will not be happy sitting on a bench waiting for a 5 minute cameo on a football pitch. We can afford the time to see if he can grow into the striker we think. Marco i think feels the same way about Muniz. Jimenez is 34 now and he won't be around for much longer and maybe Marco is looking for his replacement?

From top to bottom, each team has different goals and ambitions and maybe for a team like us in 7th place with 34 points and an almost 99.9% certainty of survival, the question is, do we push for Champions league and beyond or do we just consolidate or even stick a finger in the air and see where the wind blows? I hear it all the time on here that we need to spend 100 mill plus in this window to help get us to the next level or maybe to compete better among the top 6, maybe? My main concern is that that secure the contract of Chukwueze and Harry Wilson and one or two more loose ends and i would be happy with that. Maybe we should consult our in the house City Slicker and money guru Big Boy? Do we stick with the ISA and play it safe or do we go for the big offshore risk and go for the big one with all the glory and the trappings of success? I must stress that i know nothing about that level and trappings of success, maybe Paddy O can explain the feeling? Lol' if he has read this far he definitely is no rag and bone man. We might need another striker and the question is, do we get one in now which is looking a likely yes or do we wait until the summer 2026? Notts Forest are going in with 35million for Mateta of Crystal Palace and i don't blame them looking at the table in 4th place from bottom and 25 points. Thats 14 points away from us and this is our amazing prem league now which is fine margins from top to bottom except for Wolves and Burnley who are a bit adrift, just look at West Ham 3rd from bottom, surely they won't go down? If we really want a proven striker ready for the prem, why not go in for Mateta? At age 28 it might be a wise move for Mateta to consider the Forest deal but it also comes with risk and the risk is relegation for Forest. Again, i can't see West Ham going down but you never know. Last thing to say is, a hundred million pounds plus investment now in January might scupper any more deals and potential money we can ask for and get from our money men, the Khans upstairs.

Fulham will be mid table or a bit lower. Any newcomers being talked about will need time to bed in and it’ll be nearly the end of the season by then. Wilson won’t sign and will not be killing himself so his new club gets a player who can hit the ground running. Hope I’m wrong but Fulham are like death and taxes, guaranteed to make you suffer.

Never say never Chief. If we sign Ocar Bobb and Chukueze and we are in for another striker, we might be good for a show in Europe. My only concern is the signing of another striker? The most important business we can do in January is to secure Silva and Chukuweze for the long term. After that, get a top class goalscorer early in the summer window.
posted by Old Bloke (Guest) - Monday 26th January 2026, 10:43 PM

Yes' Chukueweze is the must-sign but it is not a given. What price is Chukueze? There might be a problem on agreement off price, how much do AC Milan want for him now and do we agree on the price? Whatever we paid for Kevin, Chukueze could be double? Going for goal and scoring goals is a part mental thing and it looks to me that Chuka is the more likely to bring on goals. Kevin is a leftie and Chuka a right wingy player and we may have another winger from Man City coming Pheew! Marco likes wingers it seems. Marco needs to sign his contract but not end of the world if he doesn't sign. Strange to say this but i think we have played well enough overall and there have been some brilliant build-ups and brilliant goals but i also think we have gotten the breaks and it could have been so different in a few matches with fine margins here and there. We are still a touch too loosey-goosey at the back for my liking but we compensate by scoring from good build-ups if that makes sense? Would like to see a tighter defensive unit. Maybe it is a Fulham trait we don't solve and i am being too nit-picky.

We mustn’t complain about the lightness of today’s footballs when we now have news like “Repeatedly heading a football "likely" contributed to the brain disease which was a factor in the death of former Scotland and Manchester United footballer Gordon McQueen, an inquest has found.” (BBC news)
Replies
“Possible, likely, may have”. How can anyone possibly know that heading a football 50/60 years ago contributed to anything so long after. I’m not saying it isn’t true but it just seems unlikely to me when boxers, rugby players and even wrestlers put their bodies through much more yet apart from a couple of recent cases of high profile “recently playing” rugby players with MND we don’t here anything. Dementia is one of the biggest; if not THE biggest killer of people in the world of which the vast majority never played professional football. I guess we’ll never know because, as you write footballs are now much lighter and waterproof but still seems a bit extreme to ban heading in my opinion.

MST: to be fair, this wasn’t a story I picked up off a bloke at the bus stop, or someone in the pub, but a considered view expressed in court by a legally qualified coroner. I thought it worth highlighting because there are frequently comments from fans here about the modern football being lighter than they used to be If the football authorities don’t heed the comments made by people like coroners and doctors, then we may indeed be eventually made to someone else forcing new rules on us - but fortunately I do think fans’ common sense will prevail first.

All of those Tories that have moved over, are full of the experience of government, that Reform need. All of them bar none, had wanted to change Britain for the better, but they were knocked back time after time by Sunak, but now they have found a man in Farage, who really wants to change Britian for the better, and always puts country first, and we should back him and his party to the hilt.

In life and elections one has to make choices. Those choices will not be a perfect fit, one is therefore left with compromise as to the person or persons best fit your beliefs and hopes. There is no perfect fit, to consider that there is is to delude ones self. We now know that the Tory’s totally screw the country, not least by totally failing in Brexit negotiations when they were given a mandate by the majority of the electorate, in a record turnout. Labour or Liebour are doing exactly what they have done before. Is it surprising therefore that people turn to alternatives in the hope that they will do better. Lastly, it is patently obvious to even the stupidest individuals that Reform have policies which tick a lot of peoples boxes. We will have to wait and see, as there is little more that can be said on the subject, that could be construed as either sensible or of significance.

I don't trust many politicians these days I'm afraid to say, and headed by those, are the worst PM, in the countries history. Kemi seems a decent lady, but leads a poor conservative party. Ed Davey, is just a joke, and as for the clown leading the Green party, who name I can't even spell, he is pretty hopeless too. At the end of the day, the only one left standing, is the resourceful Nigel Farage, who is the only one who puts the country before party, so there is hope for us yet.

I think we have a great chance of getting a European spot for next season. But is the champions league spot just a dream or now a possibility? There are 5 places up for grabs. While other team will say the same, we could have been so easily in the top 4 if we didn’t throw away and cheated by Var so may points. We kept up team who everyone will think will pull away - teams like Chelsea, Newcastle and Man U. If we maintain our form, and if we get a champions league spot - Both Marco and Wilson will definitely sign contract extension without hesitation. 15 games to go - it’s not a dream anymore!
Replies
The only time we were cheated by VAR was the disallowed goal of Matt King against Chelsea. Even if it was allowed there is no guarantee we would have beaten Chelsea. I know we lost a few games late but Marco has got the squad wiser and fitter and that should now be an occasional experience. We are on a lucky streak at present, long may it continue.

Probably the best full back we ever had was George Cohen, who had a fabulous turn of speed. I remember that day he was injured in a match at the cottage, and was carried off with a dreadful knee injury. He did eventually play again, but he had lost much of his speed and was never the same player again. I hopecwe are not seeing the same with Jedi.

Think if the scousers want Robinson at the moment would look to move him on as after watching him lately doesn’t seem to be the same player he was before injury. May have lost a bit of pace, and certainly doesn’t look like his tackling is strong and committed. Should look at wanting £25 million plus for him. Sessignon could always fill in at left back, and there is also Cuenca and Bassey who could also fill in.

Man Utd are free from all the emotional baggage put on them by Ruben Amorim, and that's it in a nutshell. The Man Utd hierarchy only have themselves to blame for picking Amorim who over-thinks about tactics, and he basically got into players' heads and forgot the basics of a football game. Carrick sat along him, observed and said nothing and nothing he could have done to change something and would Amorim have listened to Carrick? Next week we are David going into the lion's den and make no mistake, the lion's are awaken. We are in a good place because we are 2 games off 40 points which is a blessing and a relief and so we can play freely, so win lose or draw, this s a good game for the neutrals, so enjoy it. We have a good player in Harry Wilson who has the sweetest left foot and talent to turn a game and they have a good player in Patrick Dorgu and shame that Amorim didn't recognise that and sad to say for Amorim, management is also about people skills and he doesn't have good people skills for this side of the continent. I think we can get something from this game and even possibly win it and also they can bury us and they will be hard on favourites nailed on. If i was going to be nit-picky about us, it would be about defending and our awareness in picking players up early etc. Forget the nonsense about utd and crap players, they don't sign crap players. If you give the likes of Cunha space, he will punish us period and even the great Arsenal make mistakes. Marco Silva will know all this and he will be yelling hell for leather on the touchline. Marco is a passionate beast of a character and we are used to his style of management and thankfully all the players are on board. I mentioned Cunha who came from Wolves and he plays for Brazil, we also have a Brazilian in Kevin but Kevin who everyone says needs more time is a work in progress. We can see with Man Utd that the likes of Dorgu needed a little kid gloves and a touch of the fairy sprinkle powder of basic man management and hey presto! Wouldn't it be wonderful if Kevin burst from the shadows up at Man Utd and show why we got him. As much as we love Harry Wilson, we also need other players to step up and this game in particular i think we need others to step up to the plate. Win lose or draw, it is what it is, enjoy the game next week...

If we want to beat the new Manchester United we will have to change our style. As little as possible passing slowly around the back and more long ball or fast forward running attacks down the wings or through the middle. We must also close down Man U when they have the ball. Take attacking risk when ever it is possible for example pass to marked player as they should be good enough to beat a marker.

Maybe Kevin can shine and announce himself to the world coming on as a sub late on and score a wonder goal! It will be a tough game. They look so much more dynamic than before but it also means there will be spaces we can explore.

I watch quite a lot of football on TV, when not watching Fulham at CC, and what puzzles me, is whatever game I watch in the PL, all of the teams seem better than us, but we have proved so far, that we can't be as bad as I think we are, as for goodness sake, we are sitting firmly 7th in the best league in the world, so we can't be that bad. I'm wondering if as Fulham fans, we are over critical of our team, and we expect us to be a perfect football machine, every time we watch. It seems strange, that every time we win, like yesterday, we criticise certain players, instead of praising them for winning a most difficult match. I am wondering if all fans of other clubs, are the same ?
Replies
Who said and I’d disagree all PL teams look better than us on TV. Maybe the top 6 teams who are more technical and quicker may look better than us but I don’t see teams like Everton, Brentford, Palace, Forest or even Spurs any better than us. We don’t have super quick players so maybe that’s why you think we don’t look good but we have a very good team and not just a few individuals. We have a decent balance and generally have solidity and balance across the pitch. That’s why we are winning games.

Have you thought you are being over critical. We have one of the best defences in the league and Wilson can win any game for us. That is why we are a very good team with a brilliant manager. People on here criticise any small failing. Look at the subs used yesterday they won the match. If a sub does not work Marco get get fierce criticism. To many glass half empty people on this site.

I agree with you Scott Free, and we have also been robbed of at least two wins by VAR. However, if Marco and Harry dissappear over the horizon, the last thing we need next season, would be European football, it would probably put us where West Ham are now, which would be a worry.

Trust me, their first goal was a bit of wind assist and we should blame fifa for those airy lighter than normal balls that do extraordinary things. Speaking of the extraordinary, it turned out to be another Harry Wilson special to wrap this game up and obviously we are overjoyed but i scratch my head at this one and say, how did we win this? Honestly, if it wasn't for that Welbeck marginally off side goal we looked sunked hooked line and sinker, thank goodness for var! Glad we won and thank goodness for Chukweze who held his composer together to slot that goal in for 1-1, and we thank Marco for not fully resting him because Kevin is dire and clueless and i am extremely worried to say the least. Why do i say that? Kevin is our expensive player who should be our star player but he is as exciting as a sack of spuds and he is playing like that at the moment. My next moan is about our defensive awareness and we were constantly cut to ribbons by Mitoma and friends down that side which is shocking. Glad we won but honestly, this is one of those games that Marco, coach and players will have to sit down and dissect and analyse what we are doing wrong defending when Brighton are working it between the lines. The standout special moment was when Harry pinged that free-kick in and that was pure class and i think another special moment was Andersen's long ball upfield to Chukweze and it is about time we give Andersen some street cred for that ball. Honestly, any fan who ask why the moan? Trust me, this was a game we need to examine again and again and teachers report is 'must do better at defending'... Happy days....

Yes, a very good report from Owen. Undoubtedly Kevin just isn’t ready for Premier League football, but it takes something to admit that when you’ve spent that money. Liverpool supposedly still interested in Antonee Robinson. You would have thought they would be more interested in their old player, Harry effing Wilson.

Totally incorrect about Kevin. Hes a young player who has to do a huge amount of adjusting to new new league in a new country. He has no shortage of skills, tackles back very well and has improved steadily throughout the season. I have no doubt that it won't be long before hes regarded as one of our best players

How often have we been the better side and lost, so it makes a nice change to get an undeserved late winner. We have no pressure on us for the rest of the season, so win, lose or draw, we can sit back and enjoy whats put in front of us. Our big concern now, is holding on to Marco, as a lot of radio and newspapers are almost saying that he is off, as our club is now, not big enough for him, and he will probably be going to Spurs, Manchester United, or maybe even Liverpool. Who knows who we might get to take his place, but with this squad a decent and experienced manager, might even push us on. No doubt Marco will take Wilson with him, but who knows, this might be the season of his life, and he might on the way down, once this seasons magic wears off.

Lol, if i was Marco and thinking of leaving i would want to take more than Harry out of this team. How about Chukweze also? Honestly, i don't think we are in any danger of Marco jumping ship anytime soon because we have more than half a decent team. Yes, they might sack Thomas Frank at Spurs but can you see Marco salivating for that job? Smith Rowe is class when he puts his game together and we have a young Muniz who is the next best thing to slice bread apparently.(ask Leeds). We have our 3 African players back now and there is more competition for places which means Kevin will have to step up. Any player coming in this January will have to be decent and we might have to bolster our attack which will mean we will have Jimenez, Muniz, Jonah, and whoever which will be plenty, can we afford to keep all? Maybe another special person in midfield offense but apart form that we are good to go. Top 6! And Marco would be stupid to go to whoever.

Would like to say, that point blanker of a save form Leno from that Welbeck header was a Gordan Banksey and a world-class save that kept us in it. Leno is truly a number one keeper. Outstanding save and i am still amazed at how he got that one up over the bar.

I am getting sick and tired of the Leno knockers, as ever since he has been with us,he has been Mr consistent, of course he has made mistakes, but you tell me, a Premier League keeper, that doesn't. Yesterday for example he made a couple of stunning saves, which kept us in the game, and probably he makes one or two great stops in every match. I'm so pleased he is our keeper, and long may it continue.

According to the press this morning, Harry's signing on depends on whether Marco signs a new contract or not. It's a shame that our Manager holds all of the cards, as to whether our club progresses or not, which is a worry. The understanding is that the Khan's have made an offer of a new contract to MS, and I bet that it is a good one, but he still hasn't made up his mind as to whether to sign on that dotted line or not. The club is not being held to ransom, but surely must know by now whether he is staying or not. Maybe, just maybe, he is waiting to see if we add to our squad in the next week, as we are leaving it late once again. With the AFCON boys back now, and a good squad, do we really need to add anyone until the summer.

Fact: very sadly, about 2500 military personnel from US died in the Afghan war. And about 1100 died from Europe (that’s almost 30%), including about 460 from UK. Trump now accusing of European lacking balls and avoided the front-line. Remember this was a US war. Started by US (albeit in response to sick terrorism acts). US decided to pull out of Afghanistan giving Europe less than 24 hours notice leaving many UK and European military personnel stranded!! No doubt many subsidies unnecessarily. Trump also claimed NATO never done anything for US. What an ungrateful person and country!! I can’t see myself going to IS anytime int he next 10years. How much lies can this person make!!!

JohnC' America is a great Country and man-child Trump will not be around 10 years. America's absolute hero who is fighting for his country is California Governor Gavin Newsom who is taking it to him at every opportunity. Trump is bullying everybody around and is surrounded by yes-men. James Cameron the film director has just moved to New Zealand just to get out of the confusion and chaotic state of the US now. Hero Gavin who is sticking it to him left us with a nice quote; ‘I’m living rent-free in Trump’s head’ and he is a hero. I just hope for himself that Trump doesn't set him up with his ice mates and lock him up in prison.

Starmer may think he is the clever one for making Trump feel wanted and just watch Starmer pick up some more official papers Trump 'Accidently' throws down. I like the balls of Canadian Carney, Ursula von der Leyen who has more balls than Vance and all the yes men around Trump. Macron who is shafting England by taking the millions to stop migrants has a little bit of balls for opposing Trump but i still don't like him.

Those soldiers have been rewarded by politicians filling their communities with the very same people who did or aided in the killing. I’d ignore any false platitudes of any politicians of any party complicit in it. They don’t care and are liars.

I think the USA president wakes up each morning and decides who he is going to bully and or insult today. 40% OF American still think he is the best President they have ever had, perhaps our PM should try a bit of nasty stuff and his popularity might rise. It is what you say and how you say it that is more important in the World we now live in now than what you do that matters.

Another day, nearer deadline day, and still the grass is growing quite quickly under our feet with no real movements in the transfer window. Yes there are supposedly talks going on about Oscar Bobb, but no real offers, and meanwhile other clubs are now becoming interested, and that could put the breaks on us signing him. Why are we so slow, on completing transfers, while other clubs go in, make a signing, and move on. It's so frustrating, as it's a recurring theme, season after season.

As a line from a famous song goes, 'Memories May be beautiful and yet What's too painful to remember We simply to choose to forget, yes we can all remember and choose to forget the biter and the snapper in Casemiro the hard man, the tough player and a very good defensive midfielder. Do we need a stopgap and would it be beneficial to have a Casemiro who has matured like a good old wine at the age of 33? Maybe stopgap Fulham needs to say no to old players and concentrate on building a young team capable of challenging for bigger things. I will say one thing about players and impact. 23 or 33, how much impact do you have in a game and sometimes goals are important to a team and more so if your forwards are not so prolific. Casemiro leaves Utd with an impressive tally of 34 goals and various assists in the time he has been there and thats the big difference between a player at another level and we don't have that. This is a decent record and stats considering that Casemiro is a defensive midfielder.

Good player 2019. Its hard to improve this squad, when all fit and playing. The kind of player we need, will not be content with bench time. Would like to sign Chuzuweki this window and Wilson and Silva to commit, Cairney to extend for another year, personally that would do me. That would leave our squad with 23 players, with only Traore needing to go. We are at a turning point, Europe is a distinct possibility, or the manager could leave. Us going back to old Fulham survival mode, or a top 8 club. The present owners are searching for high paying guests, developing facilities for this, many older fans are struggling with the cost, do not live within 50 miles of the club. With TV rights perhaps a loyal following is not so important as once was. A popular song by a Swedish band comes to mind as regards the modern game. Money,Money,Money.

Could we be the next Palace but before reaching the height they did (winning FA cup)? Seeing Palace losing their best player, manager wants to go and criticised the board for the lack of support and now other key players refusing to sign new contracts or even wanting to leave this January (Mateta). You could change the above to read Fulham. Our domino could start in a weeks time if haven't signed the players Marco wants as minimum to entice him to stay. If we don't, he will go nuclear as Glasner has done, confirm exit and throw the board under the bus, Wilson will not consider new contract, other players will want to leave and new players will not want to join. It's a domino effect that is real. The board need to stop this and invest now. On this occasion it is worth paying over the odds to avoid a collapse like Palace!

JohnC, we already have a long record for losing our best players from years back. The Dembele's, Van Der Sa and Saha to utd, etc etc and not only Fulham. You can include Brentford, Southampton, Brighton, you name them, all smaller clubs are in the same boat and every player has their price these days. On the flip side if we buy smart from the big clubs such as Arsenal, there are benefits. For instance Leno and now we have discovered that Smith Rowe is decent after all said and done. Its good for us smaller clubs that the likes of Arsenal cannot give all youngsters game time etc and this could work to our advantage if we have the money and we buy smart. I can still see your side of the argument in that Marco could well leave if certain players go.

Harry Brown, of Maple Street, Barrow targeted Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz twice after the striker had scored goals in home and away matches against Liverpool. The 25-year-old was sentenced today (January 22) at North Cumbria Magistrates’ Court for two malicious communications offences. It comes after he sent direct messages to Mr Muniz on social media on December 14, 2024 stating ‘‘f****** slave’ and ‘hope your family gets hurt’. He was handed a three-year football banning order and ordered to undertake 150 hours of unpaid work within the next year as punishment after admitting offences at a hearing last month.

Speaking of Captain Sensible heads, we need Marco and tactics to be right for this game on Saturday. Yes, i am not the manager or expert but it is blatantly obvious from the Leeds game that Marco had a nightmare and we all suffered and we don't like it so we want Marco Silva to do better and bring back winning ways to Fulham. I can only hope that Smith Rowe who went down with a suspected ankle injury isn't injured because we need him to continue in his improvement and obvious class etc etc, are you listening Paddy O? We have the pleasure of our 3 buckaneering warriors back from Africa and only if they are not too jaded, maybe Marco can like say give Chukweze a breeze out if say the likes of Kevin keeps on running into brick walls etc etc. The mighty one, Bassey dare say deserves a rest and we know we have excellent cover in Cuena for this one. Amazingly, we have enough wingers and wingy players we can use and Iwobi also may get a well-deserved rest lol. Antonee Robinson needs to get his act together now he is fit and no need to go into anymore boring details because Paddy-o and cronies will go into a long sleep. Last thing to say is that i like Jimenez and yes he is quality and class but sometimes every ageing warrior needs a break from time to time. Is there a space for the big young German to make his debut properly? I wait with bated breath! In the meantime, let's get back to winning ways that bringeth smiles of sunshine we eagerly wait for in spring. Happy Days!!!

We HAVE to play a high line and pressurise them from every goal kick and back pass to the keeper. How many times have Brighton messed up and conceded goals trying to play out from the back. Do that and I can see a 2/3 goal win for the whites. COYW!!

Bournemouth seem to be buying some decent players, while we haven't made a move for anyone so far. It's all ifs, buts, and maybes. Hopefully MST is right, but this is Fulham after all. Marco's contract is on the line, if we miss out this time.

Other clubs seem to be buying players no other clubs are chasing. If rumours are correct, every player we want seems many clubs are chasing. Hence- no deal. I don’t know how to read this? We are trying to buy real quality or other clubs are just better at it, or they are buying players no other clubs want! But looking back, I think when we get around to buying, bought quite well.

The International Football Association Board has given the green light for VAR to be used on second yellow cards and on corners. Forget 90 minutes; games are looking closer to 120 minutes if the Prem takes this on. Looks to me like it won’t be long before top flight football will be unwatchable. Can’t wait for the World Cup - NOT!
