What a knob! While the rest of are trying come down from the euphoria and gather our senses, old Bertie Wooster just cynically sees an opportunity to make an idiotic bitter little jibe about how England can win without Europe. That's England with an Irish Captain, New Zealand match winner and a West Indian bowler who at 24 took on all the responsibility to bowl the last over. Everyone is thrilled with the quality of the match and the generosity and sportsmanship on both sides and we get this to throw cold water over the whole thing.
Couldn't agree more! Well said.

As you will be aware, the progress of the redevelopment of the Riverside Stand has been one of the key issues the Trust has been involved in discussions with the Club about.

Over the course of the next few weeks, as we get used to watching Fulham from a temporarily three sided ground, the old structure will be demolished as work continues towards a new stand. You will be aware that part of the reasoning for the new stand is to be able to provide facilities on matchdays that were simply not possible in the old stand and income streams and local amenities on non-matchdays.

As a Trust, we have already been putting forward ideas to incorporate aspects of the Club’s history and heritage into the fabric of the ground, including where possible and appropriate, in the new stand. We have also put forward ideas coming from our membership and have encouraged the Club to ensure there is the opportunity for input from supporters prior to decisions being made on the fit out and matchday packages that will be available in the new, larger stand.

During next week, season ticket holders, members (including members from last season who may not yet have purchased a membership for 2019/20), and both seasonal and occasional hospitality package purchasers will be asked to take part in a preliminary survey by a third party organisation undertaking research on behalf of Fulham Football Club.

This is an important opportunity to provide some feedback on options, put forward your own ideas and give your opinion about what you would be interested in with the new stand. The survey has been designed to seek views on catering options, use of facilities before and after games and different seating options, and does so by asking you to rank between hypothetical options to test views. So it is an important opportunity to influence the way the Club approaches the configuration of the new stand early on and before any firm decisions have been made.

The Trust therefore encourages all of our members to take part in the survey and set aside the 15 to 20 minutes to complete it in full, if you are able to.

It will be an important element in the Club’s early consultation, and having pressed the Club on the merits of seeking views of supporters, we would like to see as many of our fanbase as possible – whether or not they have been regular spectators from the Riverside – to take part.

Only those who have opted in to receive information from Fulham will receive the survey. If you haven’t opted in (you may recall that when new data protection regulations were introduced recently then the Club had to ask people to actively opt-in to be sent information), and you want to take part in this survey, then you will need to do that here:

Although this survey is not being carried out by the Trust, we are supportive of the Club taking supporters’ views seriously and so would like to see as many of our fans as possible taking part. If you do so, and there are specific issues arising from it that you would like us to pursue, then please do also let us know.

I have never been so exited or nervous watching any cricket game, and I am an ex County Umpire, so I have seen many many close and exiting games. It's a shame that there had to be a winner, but as there was one I'm thrilled to bits that it was England, as we usually end up as the gallant losers.

I know many of you disagreed with my posting about Mitro yesterday, but watch him carefully next season. I honestly believe he thought he was playing Walking Football last season. Mitro, who by the way I think is a good player has a lot more to offer and yes of course once he gets the crossed balls in from the wings he will score more. Iam sure Scott Parker is aware of that and is going to try an resolve that for the team. Yes, defence was poor last season, they were out of their depth in our first season back in the Premier league. Shame Cahill or someone of his experience and stature was not brought in to the side, it was then what we needed and will again be that leading, captains role at centre back that we must get to have a top four finish. Ream by the way is excellent, but was lost without his partner Taggart at the back. Good luck Fulham.

I think we have reason to be cautiously optimistic for the coming season. A few key players have committed to Fulham for this season and last season's signings should do a lot better now that they have had time to settle and playing in a lower division, albeit for a longer campaign. Keep this squad more or less together, add a half-decent centre-half and give youngsters like MOR enough games and who knows?...
A right back is essential, Christie is not up to it

It not productive. Very short termism. No long term thought into it. We need to buy long term. And you get what you pay for. Fulham like Marks and Spencer players. But co op prices. And the same problem does no go away

Sadly on this board according to different people we sign too many players, we don’t sign enough players, we get too many players on loan, we don’t get the right players, we pay too much for them, we get the wrong positional players, we get too many defenders, we play players out of position. We don’t play the youngsters, we throw people in too early, this ones crap, that ones crap.....I was quite looking forward to the season but now I need anti depressants to get through it.

Haha, but probably not Rich. You can’t just buy players because you want them, there are many factors that could come into play like, does his club want to sell, does he want to come, does his wife want to live somewhere else, do his kids want to change school ?etc.etc. Not to forget can we agree a price? I suspect it isn’t like going to the toy shop with your wish list. According to FFC they’ve been trying to do a deal for a couple of years and only now have all facets come together, notably, Wolves are on the up and up and they no longer feel he fits into their plans.

Just been reading the reports on the game in portugal V Burnley. Depending on whose side of the match you are reading there are quite some variations, reading between the lines Parker seems to be concentrating on fitness, quite so,Burnley played several of their youth squad we appeared at full strenth. It appeared from the report we lacked wing power (this could soon be addressed) Christie aparently had the run around, but Bryan played well. We need to get the new players in and bedded down before our first match.

HA' Ha', My weekends are getting better and better, keep it up Mal, this will cheer MST up no end. Seriously though, big Mitro is our go-to striker, our solid rock. Mitrovic just needs that pace get-go and we still need another striker. I will not complain if we have Cavaliero, Knockheart, and whoever onboard. It will be a big season for Fulham and if we can stamp some authority on this Championships, we can be awesome. Cup Matches are always lucrative and important, and we need muscle like Kamara around. Give the guy a chance and we may even see improvements to his game. We had a good cup run a season or two back and Kamara was quite forward with his goals. Fulham paid 5 million for him and i don't think we have much to lose or that we are taking a serious risk. Tony Khan has more to lose than any other in this saga, and his head will be on the block if everything he is planning goes south. We are doing everything slowly and that is the way how we operate. Our biggest worry is our defence, we need to address those problems this season...

It's just the new way or controlling the population, keeping people in check with fear. First it was religion, then wars, now they have hijacked science to keep us in our place. Sadly, as you correctly point out, it's all about money now, no self respecting climate change denier gets a grant or a salary. You must agree or no dosh for you... science used to be about questioning everything, now it's about being on a gravy train. Anyway, back to the kitchen for me I have to learn vegan cooking cos it's so much more sustainable and ethical despite us having whopping great canine teeth which were obviously developed over thousands of years to rip through lettuce..

Anthony Knockaert from Brighton HA sounds good to me, as he always put in a shift. Mo Besic Everton from Everton would be a welcome addition to our midfield, although no youngster If that falls through Sander Berge from Genk is also a hard ball-carring midfielder. It looks like the powers that be have been put off by the asking price for Dwight Gayle from Newcastle United who are asking silly prices for their players as Mike Ashley seeks to get his money back. Kasper Dolberg at Ajax is young and enthusiastic as one Ryan Sessegon used to be or Sam Larsson at Feyenoord is also a good striker and gets goals, not to forget Yussuf Poulsen of RB Leipzig is a striker who is quick of the mark. Darly Janmaat of Watford is a very useful Right Back. What do you lot think?
I have also heard a wispier. That Pugh Pugh Barney McGrew Cuthbert Dibble and Grubb. Are having a mot at Fulham today as well

It seems as though we couldn’t agree a compensation deal with Liverpool over Elliott, what do you think we asked for considering they are Champions of Europe?
Well from what I've read regarding his twitter rants slagging off the club and the manager who gave him his first team debut we are well rid at any price.

Not surprising offered a pittance for someone who is so highly rated apparantly typical let’s hope he goes the same way as Roberts not that he will be bothered he will be a millionaire when he gets to 17 don’t get me wrong you can’t blame him needs to cash in just in case but he could have backed himself and both parties would benefit !,

It is estimated that it costs between 6 & 8 mill Per year to run the Academy,so work out what it has cost the club over the last 10/15 years. Our coaching scouting level is second to none at the acadamy only to develop for the piss takers, who cherry pick at will. If we were to get 20m for Seggers ?that would still leave us around 80mil out of pocket.Lets see for at least 4/5 seasons all smaller clubs abandon their youth sides and let the bigger clubs try and develop their tallent, you would then see the winging and whining start.
posted by KUNYE (Guest) - Friday 12th July 2019, 7:55 PM
Yes the whinging would begin but the price of all players would rise The FA should ensure that clubs are compensated adequately

Cavaleiro to FFC no thanks , we really are scraping the bottom of the barrel also , let's send Mawson back to Swansea I didn't see much of him last year but what I saw was very disappointing ..slow and poor in the air . The way things are going with Seri , Anguissa , Le Marchand etc still around and no right back in sight finishing mid table will be a major achievement .
Personally I think Ivan Caveleiro would be a good fit and good signing for us. I don't see your problem to be honest as he's done ok for Wolves....

It’s only me! Always reading but not often posting…I think he could fit in well! Can see him getting around 15 or more goals with plenty of assists, working the wing and supplying Mitrovic. Think Caveleiro would be a perfect fit for us. He did well for Wolves and was a fans favourite. Could be a fantastic addition to our team. On loan With an option to buy so it’s a win win if you ask me !! We live to Dream. Onwards & Upwards. COYW

Some people need to stay realistic....Cavaleiro would be an excellent addition as he will give pace and power where Mitro gives power and goals. Defences will not know how to defend against a Mitro-Cava combo. Let’s get this deal done

Not sure why you think we should sign proven Premier League players when Fulham is in the Championship and I'm not sure why you believe that proven Premier League players would come to lil ol Fulham playing in the Championship. Thirdly FFP wouldn't allow us to spend those kinds of transfer fees and salaries and finally Caveleiro is proven in the Championship and according to SKY SPORTS he is having a medical today so all good from my point of view ;0).

TK did make mistakes last season and I hope he has learned from them. I am prepared to give him the benefit of doubt. With Stef Jo and Kev Mac back in the fold and the majority of the team that got us promoted, with a few decent additions such as Caveleiro, I am feeling very positive about next season.

I think anyone who is upbeat about TK needs to listen to him on Fulhamish. I know it's a longish interview, but megolamaniac tw*t came to my mind. I wanted to listen to sense from someone who is learning & improving ( I would rather be wrong about him & see FFC successful than do a " I told you so" ). He is a rich man's idiot son, I'd love to see him run Chelsea, QPR or Brentford, but not Fulham.

Kunye' Cavaleiro will not be a flop. Nuno doesn't make many mistakes when he buys players. The Wolves squad has grown and grown and you need a nice big squad back in the prem. Maybe Cavaleiro got his nose pushed out? My only question is, Which side does Cavaleiro play on? left or right preference? I am liking what Parker is doing. I hope he brings more, especially our defence, we really need to give that some attention...

We are a bit slow on the uptake concerning transfer targets and this is typical of Fulham. Now we have the security of Mitrovic for a while, we still need some firepower up front. Okazaki is going begging on a free and we could well bring him onboard this season. At age 33 now, Okazaki i believe will still have some juice in the tank and can provide some assistance for Mitrovic. Not saying any of this will happen in a million years, but Okazaki i think can add a bit of quality to our attack providing we also add a pace-man such as assombolga? Okazaki i think has been used sparsely by Leicester in his career and he could be decent for this season. I think there is a chance that we could still hold on to Sessegnon because Spurs have some other targets to consider besides Sess. Why would Spurs get rid of a seasoned left-back in Rose for an inexperience Sessegnon whose best position isn't even left-back. There might be good reasons to delay transfers coming our way because we still have players we can't get rid off in a hurry. Seri is proving hard to off-load but maybe this is not necessarily a bad thing depending on which Fulham fan you talk to. We think Seri will not have time on the ball in the Championships because it is more frantic, but maybe if we are stuck with him, it might be to our advantage? The conundrum surrounding Seri is that his you-tube videos are better than his performances but maybe if he is stuck with us, he might just stir up something close to those pretty videos which look amazing. In the meantime, we could do a lot worse than acquiring the services of one Shinji Okazaki who is a megastar back in Japan. There must be a reason for such attention to Okazaki. The song goes, 'It's got to be Perfect' so lets go get a freebie in Okazaki and folks, we still have our super-sub in AK-47 Kamara! Why are we worried??? COME ON YE FULHAM!!!!!!!!!

posted by Gaz (Guest) - Friday 12th July 2019, 8:57 PM
Believe it or not, the Turkish club were desperate to sign Kamara for another year. He did not have a good start at the Turkish club and Kamara even went on the missing list over there. Kamara must have shown something to convince them and i think he has the right aggression, pace and determination to warrant another try with Fulham. The people who have most to lose and egg on their faces will be the Khans if Kamara fails to impress. Scott Parker might be a bit inexperienced but one good attribute he has picked up is an improvement on player understanding and relationships. We will have cup runs and we need a biggish squad. Kamara did play his part in our cup runs a few seasons back. Rest Mitrovic and Cavaleiro and play the likes of Kamara in cups competitions.

I have know idea what so ever it represents, religious I assume, how ever almost all of the players at Wimbledon are over seas but I have never ever seen a player do the same ritual when coming onto court , just wondered why ?.Also rugby and other group sport that involve over seas players also never do this ritual ,why don't tennis players spit ???.And having watched Nadal for years were has the odd ritual he has started doing before each serve the wiping of ears nose fore head, never did it until getting bad injury some while ago .

The "ugly American" personified, in more ways than one. As The Telegraph pointed out a few days ago, it's easy to admire the US team, but impossible to like them. Her frustrated outpourings are undermining the growing interest in the women's game and her foulmouthed insults to the President of the United States will alienate middle America and stifle development at the grass roots level. Twas ever thus; Hope Solo, now retired and a media pundit, previously held the honors for the biggest mouth. Strange isn't it, that the Manager and Coaches are seldom if ever interviewed. Irrespective of the number of pubescent teenage girls and their doting mothers, the women's game in America, like the dire Major League Soccer, is doomed to blossom and die in the harsh TV reality of NFL, Golf, Baseball and NASCAR. Nothing else will ever get sufficient support to justify network coverage. As to the feminist ultras that seem to make up half the team, they might try their luck against a lwo-ranking MLS team to see how good, or otherwise, they really are.

From a country that has always lead the way in sports marketing for decades it seems like who ever controls the women's game is not doing a great job.Megan Rapinoe statement "she did not plan to go to the f*cking White House." was ridiculous. Firstly it meant the team were split if some of the players wanted to go they would be made to feel they were being disloyal to her views, but more importantly it brought her political views into the game. In this country we do not know the political views of any of the big name players or how they feel about the government , Brexit or the monarchy which is how I think it should be. This sort of attention grabbing remarks is not going to make the game as don't forget Trump did win the election.

Is it worth the club retaining our acadamy,it must cost a considerable amount financially, for what, only to see the big boys cherry pick. I have watched many training sessions and matches at Motspur Park along with the plethera of scouts who would have outnumbered those attending a Baden Powell scout camp. Of the recent tallent that has passed through our doors have we benefited from the outlay ? ? ? Brentford are one of the teams who have abandoned their youth side, for as they put it,untill it becomes financially prudent to re install. And lets be honest the running of their club on a financial shoestring appears far more efficent than us,just look at their recent additions.

It also seems to me that with the ease larger clubs are able poach talent, they get the benefits for all our hard work...

Unless there are some changes to the rules enabling clubs to recover a proper transfer fee for poaching why would you bother with an academy?

Leave it to the big clubs do the hard work and meet the cost of bring through players who have little or no loyalty to the clubs that put in the effort to develop their talents.

Are they all still on holiday ? Are we waiting for their present clubs to decide who they want and who can go out on loan ? Other clubs seem to have brought in a few players nice and early but we always leave it until final week , a ploy that has not worked well - even in our promotional season we were poor until December . Do we need to ship out before we ship in ?
The club ( not us ) got £12 million for Roberts who has hardly been pulling up trees and now languishes at Norwich. Dembele admittedly was stolen for half a million Hyndman has similarly retreated back to the US having disappointed at both Bournemouth and on loan in Scotland.

Told last week there was ‘no chance’ of Jean-Michael Seri being a Fulham player next season, we did our best to bring you the latest on Jean-Michael Seri.

Sport Witness were informed Crystal Palace were still hovering around the midfielder, while clubs such as Napoli and Galatasaray had presented offers, but just for loans.

It was clear work was being done behind the scenes at Fulham and on Seri’s side to try and find him a landing spot, and that continues to be the case.

In fact, his agent had a chat with Teleradiostereo in Italy, where he explained he had held talks with AS Roma in Serie A about his client.

He said, relayed by Calciomercato.it: “Myself and my Italian partner spoke to Roma a couple of weeks ago. We’re seeing how the situation will evolve. Seri would be happy to play in Italy. Roma are a great club.”

Considering the Italian side are currently on the lookout for a new midfielder, currently trying to Fiorentina’s Jordan Veretout, this could be a match made in heaven.

However, a lot could depend on how much Fulham ask for, as Roma’s coffers aren’t as plentiful as others around them these days.

It’s nothing overly concrete, but if Roma lose out to on Veretout, who is also of interest to Milan and Napoli, then Seri might become a more attractive prospect in the next few weeks.
Whilst i agree Mr Seri wants to leave ,the quote that there is no chance of him staying at Fulham ,is journalistic rubbish/spin.He is under contract till 2022,so if Fulham do not get the required some,he stays.

Apparently Seri has it in contract he will only play in the top division , so if he stays a Fulham player we have to loan him out or allow him to sit out his days , at a high salary . Same situ as we had with Kosta Packet Mitroghou , we had to loan him to Benfica

Seri 's agent fooled Tony Khan into thinking he was a good player brandishing names like Barcelona around etc but he wont deceive clubs like Roma or even Crystal Palace he has lost all credibility like his player.

It will be interesting to see if Seri comes back from his African nations jaunt , don’t think he has played in the last 2 games . Will he come back throwing his toys out of his pranks or will he ‘man up ‘ and play in the championship ? Not many takers I reckon

Does anybody know the exact wording of Seris contract or is it just speculation. Rumour has it that the high earners among our new signings had a relegation clause involving their salaries being halved if the worse should happen. Either Seris agent has pulled a flanker and arranged a get out clause that no other agent thought to implement or the whole business is based on guesswork and speculation. It would be very interesting to hear from somebody who knows for a fact the full terms of Seris contract. Contract aside If the guy possessed even a tiny portion of integrity he would get his head down next season to try to prove that he is at least good enough to compete at Championship level. For the money he has cost this club it is the very least he can do. His First task however would be to actually battle his way to a first team place.

Manchester City sign 16 year old Morgan Rogers for £4 million from West Brom Albion, maybe me thinks that it is our Management who are to blame for allowing all these products from our Academy to just waltz off at the end of their contracts. Maybe we should be demanding more loyalty. So Harvey Elliott is off to Liverpool or Barcelona - is it not time to tighten up our business side if we keep losing tallent for next to nothing, where's the benefit of all our outlay if they go for penuts - Don't blame the kids they are only doing what they think is the best for their careers and last season was no advert for football at the Cottage was it? Down to Management or lack of it again I am affraid.
Cannot really blame management, these kids cannot sign professional forms till they are 17 years old, they get their head turned by promises of great riches, agents in their ear all the time. Sometimes I think it is a waste of time clubs like us having academies, soon as you get a decent prospect the vulture circle. From what I hear Elliots dad got a Range Rover from the agent they are using, shows what you are up against!
posted by teasie (Guest) - Tuesday 09th July 2019, 7:50 PM
You can only blame the people at the top. Its starts from the top down. Not the bottom up.[the fans]. If a ship sinks its the captains fault what ever.
posted by GEEZER oap (Guest) - Tuesday 09th July 2019, 9:45 PM
I would argue that the fans are not at the bottom, they are purely peripheral ie. they have no influence on which players join or leave. I suspect you are confusing responsibility with blame. The management are responsible for running the club but it's the players and agents who are to blame. It certainly doesn't start at the top or the outcomes would be very different..

The system is F&&ked!! A club spend 8 years developing a player then they can walk away for a fraction of their potential worth!! We can’t change the law to make a player sign a contact before they are an adult. There’s one solution I suggest before and I still think make sense. There should be a formula for the academy to receive an ongoing fee until say 3-5 years after their youth contract at 17 based on their salary and future transfer fee from the receiving club. Eg if they earn a £10m contract from 17-22 - they should pay the same for the developing club. As well as say 25% selling on fee. This is then shared based between the academies they spend time with. That way- the system is fair and accurate based on how well the player was developed.
posted by John (Guest) - Wednesday 10th July 2019, 3:50 AM
That is a great solution and on the basis it makes sense has no chance of being implemented :) The agents ought back it too as they stand to benefit more so maybe....

Before all may say bad deal,if Sess is not shifted in this window he will run down contract and we will get sweet F.A. There has to be a new arangement regarding young players moving to big clubs for practically no fees,a lot of time and cost is put into the development of these youngsters. My suggestion is if the said player makes so many appearances at club, or international level, his original club receives 50% of that players currant valuation, only applying to the under 21 age group. Of course this will never be agreed by the big boys.

Matt O’Riley has decided to stay with Fulham until the end of his contract rather than seek a move elsewhere this summer, according to reports this afternoon. The talented central midfielder, who is highly regarded as one of the best prospects to come through the club’s academy in recent years, has been watched by scouts from a number of leading English and European clubs over the course of the last year in the expectation that he would move away from Craven Cottage to seek more frequent first team football. The 18 year-old starred for Fulham’s under 23 side for much of last season but his only appearance for the senior side came as a late substitute in a League Cup second round win at Millwall in September. O’Riley is understood to be eager to learn from Fulham boss Scott Parker, who included him in the squad for the club’s first pre-season friendly against Cambridge United on Saturday, and will see out his current contract, which expires next summer. O’Riley will hope to force his way into Parker’s Championship plans for the forthcoming season. The England youth international has made seven first-team appearances for the Whites since being handed his debut by Slavisa Jokanovic in Fulham’s League Cup win at Wycombe Wanderers in August 2017. He has been linked with the links of Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool in the past. O’Riley’s decision will come as a major boost to Fulham, who are widely expected to lose other highly-regarded youngsters like Ryan Sessegnon and Harvey Elliott this summer.
The post seems to suggest it is good news and the boy is being congratulated for staying another season, and to run down is contract! Football is a business and I am not sure it’s good news he doesn’t see his future at Fulham and want to use his last season to look after himself only and use Fulham as a stepping stone to walk away for free. I am confused!
posted by John (Guest) - Monday 08th July 2019, 8:19 PM
John , why on earth should a talented young player not look beyond FFC. Maybe he will get to play with a top English or European club in the future. Let's wish him well
posted by Fred (Guest) - Monday 08th July 2019, 10:38 PM
Free, agree we would wish him well and hope one day he plays for England etc. However, if Fulham isn’t the future for him then perhaps he leaves now maybe for a fee otherwise perhaps he can commit to Fulham for another two or three years. If all our young players just run down their contracts perhaps we wouldn’t have an academy!! As I said the academy is a business and works in the interest of the young players as well as the club! Both ways.
posted by John (Guest) - Tuesday 09th July 2019, 4:06 AM
if we are unable to tie down good young players to a contract at 17 and they walk for peanuts ,what is the point of an academy ? Other clubs make money in young transfers, why cant we?
posted by doom (Guest) - Tuesday 09th July 2019, 9:54 AM
Not sure what the problem is. We have a young player with a year on his contract staying. I don't see any mention that he has been offered a new or extended contract that he is refusing or that he a first team regular who is looking to run down his contract and get a big payday like Aaron Ramsey. He got very little playing time last season so if he gets few games this season between now and Xmas and becomes a regular then he will be offered a contract then we can see if he stays or not otherwise good luck to him.
posted by Tezza - Tuesday 09th July 2019, 9:59 AM
Having spoken with a few people Im 99% sure Fulham havent offered Matt a contract yet.If he isnt going to get a first team opportunity then there is no point him signing as a player of his potential needs first team football on a regular basis now. Fulham can therefore try and sell him this window for money or play him. If they play him and he's happy Im sure Fulham will give him a new contract and then it all works out. If they show no sign of playing him which was apparent last year when others less talented were promoted ahead of him then I would advise him to leave when it suited him. The big sign will be if we get in another midfielder as it would send a message that would make it clear he had no future. Fulham could also offer him a contract anyway because if not then they wont even get training compensation. But if they offer him only a cheap contract then his tribunal fee would probably be lower than compensation as the argument would be they dont value him so why charge a fee?? These are the challenges for both the player and the club. From what we have seen of him he's better right now than Kmac Torre Steff Frank so there is no logical reason to not play him..but that was the case last year and they didnt.IF he doesnt start or play in all the friendlies its a statement he isnt part of the first team and as thats the only place he should be imo he'll probably have to leave in the Jan window and no one could blame him. My instinct still tells me FFC want him around but Ive said that before!!

I never thought that I would be so pleased, and surprised, at re-signing one of our own players. Surely Mitro must have been told about some new signings coming in, as he wouldn't be expected to do all the goal scoring himself. The week ahead could be bearing some fruit, with some new additions.

Badger, Newcastle are still in the premier league. Because of the ego of Tony Kahn and his RITA statistics our excellent manager SJ wasn’t able to have any input on which players to bring to the club apart from Mitro who Tony Kahn now claims it was him who brought him in. It’s great news Mitro has signed with us but as far as Tony Kahn is concerned nothing has changed. Parker will have no say on who comes to the club. Just watch the podcast. I just hope I’m proved wrong and things have changed

I don't think prem clubs want to pay good money for players in a relegated side. They prefer to "tap" them up ( Elliott ). Levy will/is trying to "tap" up Sess to get him as cheaply as possible ( he has a record of this with FFC, although no Martin Jol to help him this time, he probably knows TK is an idiot & may feel he can run rings around him ).

On hols in Cornwall (Kennack Sands, Lizard) with a bit of time on my hands so thought I’d tune into the 2nd half of the women’s World Cup final to see what all the fuss is about. I have to say that it is everything and more that I thought it was; poor stamina levels, poor skill levels, slow, lack of team work, no tactical awareness and pretty much like watching a bunch of five year olds chasing the ball around. Each to their own but for the life of me I can’t see what you see in this Geezer because it ain’t football as we know it Jim ;0)).
I watched the first half and then got on with my life. The US team are self described "world class athletes" although it's hard to discern that. Rapinoe, the bull dyke defacto manager and mouthpiece, wants pay parity with the men's game and more "respect" from FIFA who apparently shouldn't have scheduled other international competitions on the same day. Guess they should have canned the Montreal Grand Prix as well.

Agree. It's a shame the media doesn't promote established womens sport instead of the ones "aping" mens sports ( football, cricket & rugby ). Although I'm pleased the netball world cup is being televised but where was the promotion of womens hockey ? Our women are current olympic champions after all. The media seem to prefer promoting women in a male environment rather than womens sport. More feminism than sport(ism) perhaps ? I used to enjoy watching a previous wife play in lincolns inn fields many moons ago. & yes geezer some of the reasons for enjoying it were totally sexist, (short skirts flapping up & down on lithe perfectly formed smooth limbs...) excuse me, cold shower beckons I think.

Jim yes, thanks. It’s just a two mile walk from here (or a five minute drive LOL). Portheras is my favourite though although a little tricky to get to. https://www.cornwall-beaches.co.uk/west-cornwall/portheras-cove.htm

I have only one point to make on the womens World Cup and am certain that it won’t be very popular. If the good lord had intended women to become professional footballers he would never have invented shopping.

Geezer do you mean the Liverpool team that is full of English players or the one that won the Champions League with a bunch of Johnny foreigners. Is the irony in your post intended?
