Our team of under 18s sits at the top of their league, after today's win at Southampton 3:1 jay Stansfield scoring 2,taking his total to 22 this lad rely is a goal machine. Having watched many matches and training sessions its amazing to watch their work load, and enthusiasm a great credit to their coaches.such a pity parker does not watch them to see how it is done. My tip to watch from this great bunch is Jay stansfield c/f ~ Luca Murphy ~ f/b Damian las g/k ~ Cody Dramar f/b. I would recommend anyone who can get to M/P to watch their matches do so,a Fulham side to be proud of.

Love the youth report Kunye! Keep it coming. Hope to see these lads on the senior squad sooner rather than later. We have one of the best academies in England and have for a while now. Shame the Khans don’t know what to do with it. BTW Have we gotten our money from Liverpool yet? Gonna need it to stave off FFP trouble if we don’t go up.

Whether you want Parker in or out. One thing for sure he does appear to have the players behind him. Watching Rams News they pointed out that Huddersfield gave tham a much harder competitive game! Cocu was surprised at the lack of service to the best striker in the Championship. All points to our Managers decision making!
Replies
Yup. The players nary make a decision the pitch. It’s all SP. Obviously not too many former players on this board. Our roster is nowhere near as good as you all think. Fake news in the press has you all fooled. Not to mention the Khans. Shocking we’re in third with this setup

CHAMPIONSHIP so close and competitive this season reckon there’s still many Twist&Turns still to come for top 6 clubs. Yes Fulham have some tough games to come including Leeds who also have half a dozen tricky games and potential banana skins! We’re definitely well in mix for autos spot and going to be interesting run-in and still all to play for! Gotta keep the Faith going!... In the last 10 Championship matches, we’ve scored one goal or less 9 times. The play of Rodak and Hector has been papering over the anemic attack.

Well most of us thought that we would slip down to 5th, after this afternoon's matches, but lo and behold by some miracle we are still 3rd. We are playing boring boring football, under a clueless manager, and we are still in the running for a play off spot, so I ask myself, how bad are the teams in the Championship this season, and I think that they must pretty poor, if we are still in with a shout. Leeds just scraped home today, Notts Forest couldn't even beat QPR, Brentford just managed a point and only Preston made any ground really and they are away to both WBA and us, in their next two matches, so who will go up is anyone's guess, but it does look like both WBA and Leeds are set fair for the autos, and the other five, us included, are playing for a date at Wembley, which none of us really deserve.
Replies
Very good summary. It certainly isn't a landmark year for the Championship, other than perhaps West Brom, but we're playing a boring style, show no pace or consistancy and yet we're still there.

But only 2 points from 9 against non-playoff teams. The next four matches are all against the top 10. We had a chance to make hay, now it’s a war just to make the playoffs.

We tend to do well against good sides and lose to the rubbish teams. I'm not so worried if Parker can get the midfield going (perferably forward) but he hasn't got the weapons, neither has he got anyone to feed off Motrovic. Cavellero and Knockhaert wandering about like Jews in the Desert and the midfield struggling to catch up. Remember the roll Ryan Sessegnon played when he wasn't pretending to be a full back? And the goals that came from it?

We have had so much luck this season! we started the season badly but none of the teams ran away with the league. Then West Brom and Leeds ran away but as we started pulling a few results together, they collapsed like a pack of cards. Recently we had a few bad games but apart from West Brom none of our rivals are taking advantage!! I put the luck to Parker! We question he’s ability as a manager but he certainly is a lucky one!! Sometimes luck is all you need....and we have a bagful this season! Just hope it doesn’t run out before the season end....

It looks like more than ever that we will need to compete in the playoffs judging on todays results for Leeds and West Brom. Somehow i can't see Scott Parkers lucky streak continuing. Not saying we aren't capable of winning another playoff, we certainly have the talent to do it, but we will see if and when....

It doesn't take a genius to see what we do wrong week in and week out at Fulham. Don Goodman rightly pointed out some basic mistakes in our game which Scott Parker and Stuart Gray can't seem to iron out in this Fulham team. How many times do we see a 2 and 3 man passing move going forward, for then a player passing backwards the moment a forward makes runs? This happens week in and week out and sorry to say this, but these are basics we should be getting right now. We give Scott Parker the benefit of the doubt every week and we see not much progress. We scrape a win one week but not really tanking the opposition and we get the usual 'i told you Parker is good' by the Scott Parker forever love brigade. Then we lose and we get the other side. The experts say Derby draw and take points of Fulham who everyone assumes that they will push on and get closer to Leeds and WBA. We don't think that we have a good enough squad to hold our own if we get promotion so where do we go from here? Every other tom dick and harry think that wehave the best squad in this division and i personally think that they are not that far of thinking that! AK- Kamara is useless apparently, but he was good enough to scor a brace against QPR when Mitrovic was out. Could it be that Scott Parker is finding it hard to come up with different team selections, formations, and tactics to deal with different scenarios and other team dynamics? I argue that there are better and more experienced managers out there that can tweek and get much better results from this Fulham side. Tom Cairney expected us to respond and have a positive reaction against Derby but it didn't happen yet again why was that? Fulham got shot of Sturt Gray around Slavisa once, and now we can see why that was in my opinion. We need to start taking more 'Risks; on and off the field! Too risky to get a manager in with so many games left? Can we get the ball into a bored Mitrovic and put in more balls to him etc? Derby did that in the 2nd half last night and look at the results? We were very lucky to come away with a draw. As usual we will have the Parker love crew who will say that a draw was a good result. What else can we do? Let's pick on the Chairman for lumping us with Kamara and some of the other useless lumps we call footballers. 3rd place in the table 'Owen' why am i moaning??? I don't know because i have lost the plot! Rant over!!!!!!

We all get frustrated and get pi$$ed off when we don't win - it's only normal. I'd be the first to say that if we were in the bottom half of the table and threatened with relegation to Div One I would be joining the POB's and calling for his head. As we are not, could I ask what exactly is the issue people have? So let me ask this question......"If at the start of the season we could have forseen that in February we would be 3rd in the table and with every prospect of reaching the play offs would you have taken it?" Yes, or no? Some will doubtless say yes that's too simplistic and it's not the point. Answer - IT IS the point. So, yes, or no?
Replies
In my opinion, it’s not the point. We don’t look like a team capable of staying in the premiership. We play boring side to side football and in any other season, we would be mid table. He is clearly not getting the best out of our players and we waste opportunity after opportunity of climbing into the top 2. He is not made of the stuff we need. At this point if the season, it’s too late to give him the boot though. Was very shocked he was still here after Christmas.

You seem to miss the point , we are playing boring , painfully slow , crap football . Mitrovic saves us game after game . We have the players to perform better , score more and win more . Parker has knocked the confidence out of the team . We could and should be in the top two with the squad we have , so no I don’t accept where we are , I expected better at the start of the season .

So the scrap we find ourselves in is something I would not have taken. We were favourites to win the league.

Yes' the object is to try and stay in the prem Dan, but if not possible, it is still a lucrative business to be involved in as i have explained in past forums. You never know, the Khans might invest more millions on top of the 100 odd million prize money for promotion. Not to be sniffed at for a small club like ours. Survival is key before ambitious moves i agree, but the name of the game is progress and trying to make progress. Ignore the we should stay in this league numty's, you have heard the saying at school to show and have some ambition. This is all key to progress...

I am no big fan of Scott Parker, but look where we are in the league, and he must be doing something right, although I do think that are more experienced manager/coach, would have had a bit more success with this squad. I know that we keep on moaning about our results, and I am one of them, but we have come through the last seven tough away games without defeat, since losing at Preston, and the majority of us thought that seven points in February would be a decent return from the games we had, and still have to come, but we already have eight, with two home games to come, so it can't be all bad. Do I want promotion, well I am in two minds, but I do lean towards winning the play offs at Wembley again, as the automatic spots are seeming out of sight now.

He stared on the right wing as we won promotion at Wembley and he’s a better player now. Same pace and power, but now he shows the ability to pick his head up and deliver a pass. He should start the rest of the way. Personally, I think none of Cav, Reid or Knockaert have distinguished themselves. Cav could have and won it. Nice to see a reversion to form defensively - referee cost us v Milwall. No goals from open play again.

Draw looks like it got Parker out of jail, we really didn't deserve a draw, Derby were unlucky. I should say that Rodak kept us in the game. It took all of 45 minutes plus and us going behind to start playing a little football. Putting Cavalirio and Kamara on was just desperation and it was so all so unnecessary. Why Parker did not take any of the positives from our first encounter against Derby is a mystery. Cavaliero should have been in from the start along with Kamara or Kabano. Harking back to our first game again, and we can see that putting Curtis Davis under pressure more will bring results. We need runners that bring threats and our Bobby Reid and Knockheart were not effective enough. Reid should have been subbed because he looked tired or injured? Kamara is a conundrum and fans rightly or wrongly don't know what to make of him. If you watch his game properly, you can see defenders panic, they really are frightened of this guy. Another manager will get the best from Kamara and Cavaleiro, and Mitrovic, etc. Scott Parker is not our man for the job and we can all see it now. Yes' we are still in 3rd place, but the top 2 can move even further ahead to the Premeirship. We can all throw hearts and flowers to Parker and say that we don't want to go up this season, and we want Parker to gain more experience for next season. I am not happy with this nonsence and i hope we break protocol, and bring in somebody with more experience with so many games to go. We have listened to Tom Cairney and even he is saying that we have the best team in this division. Cairney was banking on us showing a reaction from the Barnsley game but yet again, we fall short and i really think our players don't know why that is. It is a simple logic, and a simple reason why we don't tick and we don't gel on the pitch. That reason is Scott Parker and Stuart Gray. Fulham would have more chance if we bring back Slavisa Jokanovic. Jokanovic would be licking his lips at the players we have at Fulham. If Slavisa was able to get something out of the likes of Aluko, what could he do with Knockheart, Bobby Reid, an isolated Mitrovic, etc? Tactically Scott Parker is the wrong Mantra for Fulham, yet we are still 3rd. This ensures that the Scott Parker faithfulls will sing his praises until the final whistle of the season. Is Parker learning anything much from this season? 'No! Can Parker replicate and improve on what Slavisa Jokanovic did for Fulham? I very much doubt that he can. My final shout is, 'GET IN A PROPER MANAGER AND SAVE OUR SEASON!!!!!!!

Arizonan' we either have the wrong players in, or it could be the wrong management set-up? All outsiders who say we have a great squad are either dumb and stupid or wants again, Scott Parker just cannot get these bunch of players to click as a unit! As far as i am concerned, the Khans have put on the table a good enough squad to do the job in this division. The Premiership is a different chapter. We and everybody else will need to spend 100 million plus to even compete back in the prem. You only need to worry about that if we get there. This game was Derby's to win and they were unlucky. Scott Parker set this team up wrongly from the start which proves that he is not progressing any time soon. Don't they watch games back and try to work out what is best going forward? We are all over the place! Don't care' not bothered! Get a manager in now!!!!!!!

He can't because he's played on the wrong side. He's left footed while Caveliero is right. They are both expected to cut in and use their best foot. I've never really understood the cut in theory although Damien Duff was good at it.

Barnsley, what a joke and being prepared for defeat at Derby! Where is Lady Penelope when you need her? A load of...s...e! I am afraid we have a driverless car which hurts me to say as Parker comes across as a genuine guy, just out of his depth for us at this time! Next season in the prem would be disastrous!!!!

Gezza' well spotted that major detail about Kamara and assists. Game against Derby back at the Cottage showed that Kamara and Cavaliero were threatening to Derby. Scott Parker wants again shows a lack of tactical awareness, and even the likes of Tom Cairney can't figure out Parker and Stuart Gray. This Fulham team really need someone to bring out the best in them...

Same old, same old, playing at snails pace, no urgency we need to move the ball a lot quicker, we give the opposition too much time to get back into shape when defending against our snail pace attack. In the second half we need to be more dynamic when going forward, one goal will be enough to win all 3 points.

I bet we score at least two goals tonight since Onomah isn’t even on the bench, which means we will have some passing fluidity. Personally, I think KMac should partner TC and StefJo — but I guess Parker has to put his own stamp on things, can’t learn from Slavisa.

I wonder if there is any team in the Championship that Parker does not considers are a threat when we play them. He warned us of the qualities of Stoke who, at the time we played them, were second from bottom. He was also cautious about Barnsley last week and he continues with his negativity week in and week out. For goodness sake if you cannot be positive go and find a job which you are more suited. He has already given Derby a one goal advantage with his latest comments on Rooney and I fully expect us to lose tonight. Not a coach to lift the team and I fully expect there will not be any changes to our team and regardless of the result Parker will continue with his lack of praise for our players. My advice to Parker would be t,O shut up or manage a team more suited to his managerial experience.

But it seems some time we are! Mitrovic should not have to shoulder all the goal scoring, as this gives the oppsotion an advantage. Where are the goals coming from in our midfield and defense? Beware of Mr Rooney, he still has his shooting prowess from distance. This game could hinge on whoes in goal, what about giving Bettenelli a run out, he might fizz given the chance to grab back the No 1 shirt and position?

Parker’s Presser column is dreadful. If he’s incapable of rallying the faithful with more positive words, he should be kept as far away from the website as possible. He’s supposed to be uplifting, positive and persuading us to really get behind the team; what he’s doing is making us fearful, negative and downbeat. No wonder the team often starts off so badly

The game against Derby tomorrow night is a real chance (win, lose or draw) for the players to show some real mettle and go some way to putting things right for last weekend.

I always attend this game and over the years have seen good, bad, VERY BAD and indifferent but tomorrow will be a tough game methinks. Since arriving, Rooney has practically taken Derby single handedly from about three points off relegation to play-off candidates and he ALWAYS scores against Fulham.

I just hope that our lot don't stand in awe of him but get really stuck in and show him and his team mates what playing in the Championship is all about. We need to press high, run for 90+ minutes and hit them with pace on the break in my opinion.

A draw would not be a disaster but another defeat so soon after last week's debacle would definitely send waves around the top 10 that FFC has a soft under belly and I can see us tumbling down the league as a result (although I really hope not).

It will be interesting to see what team Parker picks and what tactics he employs because, make no mistake, this is going to be a very, very tough game!

Just to add on a word of caution concerning Rooney. He may be a touch slower now, but he will be dangerous around free-kicks yards from goal. We really need to watch guys like Tom Lawrence coming forward. He will buy Rooney free-kicks and our Joe Bryan will need to be a lot more alert than he has been lately. A last-minute panic by sticking his leg out will either win Derby a penalty or we give away too many unnecessary free-kicks. I will say that 4 free-kicks we give away, and Wayne Rooney will put away 2 of them. Fulham will have their chances against Derby which we mustn't waste them. Rooney is my fear tomorrow. My note to Scott Parker is, 'DONT GIVE AWAY NEEDLESS FREE-KICKS! Or we lose to Rooneys boot!!!!!!!! P.S, AND TAKE OUR CHANCES WHEN THEY COME!!!!! COME ON FULHAM!!!!!!

Just seen he was inducted into the football hall of fame. For those who don’t know, he was the first, and only, top flight player to come out as gay in his playing career and the first black player to Demand a £1m transfer fee. Also, for those that don’t know, he killed himself after facing racist and homophobic abuse. Very very sad indeed. But a huge moment for the LGBTQ community and perhaps a catalyst for change. I hope you all see this as something positive and not a chance to bully and name call. Anyone have any fond memories of watching him play at any point in his career?

why did you have to make those comments at the end I got to that part then lost the desire because you brought racist and gay culture into it if he was white you would not have bought that up, and for the record he was a good player .

In the usa in 1998 he was charged with sexual assault on a 17 year old boy . He then fled to England ! As it’s a Fulham fc message board what’s the score prediction for Friday , COYW

Mel, interesting. Had no idea. d - it’s a huge part of his story. In fact it’s a huge moment in the history of football. I’m sorry it winds you up so much, it really shouldn’t. He was a very good player, hence the price tag and the induction to the hall of fame. Not denying that. If he was white, he wouldn’t have faced racism and if he was white and gay, I’d still mention LGBTQ. Your comment makes little sense.

He's been inducted into the hall of fame because of his abilities as a footballer. What has his colour and sexuality got to do with it? Can't see the relevance of mentioning that in the context of his induction?

Don't want to see what? Why do people have to be labelled, black, white, straight, gay? I don't care, it's irrelevant. He was inducted as a footballer, not as a black gay footballer! When you look at the winners board of fame at Wimbledon tennis, it doesn't say Martina Navratilova the lesbian champion (and nor should it).

Why does this make you so angry? It is a tragic story and it’s news. He is getting recognition in an industry that was intolerant to him. As soon as he came out, he was no Longer judged on his ability as footballer and was sold down the leagues. So to now get the recognition he deserved at the time is important. Especially as he was treated so badly.
posted by David (Guest) - Wednesday 19th February 2020, 8:20 PM

It doesn't make me angry and I am not hostile David. I just have a different perspective to you in that I think he should be judged as a footballer and a person without the need to bring his colour and sexuality into it. I don't judge anyone on the basis of colour or sexuality. No offence intended.
posted by CoJ (Guest) - Wednesday 19th February 2020, 8:26 PM

No offence taken. I agree you should be inducted based on football ability and he was. I think the point is, he has been inducted into the hall of fame and as such his story is Being discussed. A sad one that is still relevant today. Just like gazzers induction and George bests’ inductions would have mentioned their ability as well as their sad stories of alcoholism. They wouldn’t be listed as ‘gazzer, alcoholic’ either but I’m sure it was discussed in the process. So what’s the problem.

Have to agree to disagree, I don't introduce any of my gay friends as "meet my gay friend Ian" in the same way as I would not introduce another mate as "meet my alcoholic friend Ian".

I remember the goal he got which I think was voted goal of the season. He was playing for Norwich at the time. He had his back to goal received the ball, flicked it up with one foot, turned and volleyed into the back of the net with his other foot from outside the box. What a wonder goal it was.

Every club is guaranteed 12.3 million for being involved in 10 prem league matches on Sky tv each year for starters, not to be sniffed at. There is an extra 1.1 million shared out for each game on top of that, again' luverly-jubberly! Each step and improvement by position is again worth 2 million. Most recent parachute payments for relegated teams are worth around 48 million in the first year after relegation and an extra 38 million the following year unless they win promotion to the premier league. I am sure there are lots more in financial benefits to be added for just being a part of the premier league. With all these jollies dangled from a golden carrot stick, what 'Eejit' wouldn't want any part of the premier league? Seriously, there can't be many Fulham fans who wouldn't want promotion this year. I suspect that if we had a count of say, 1 per-cent out of 1000 Fulham fans would hands up to no promotion which i guess that eqatates to 10 or more smucks around the planet talking down Fulham. That is a horrible thought and anyone with these negative vibes should see a doctor immediately! Can our mish-mash out of form and out of sorts team even beat Derby County on a friday night at Pride Park which is supposedly a fortress impregnable and almost impossible to win at? 'Er yes' if we go back to this years form and the beating we gave them back at the Cottage. Can Scott Parker the rookie manager who might have more skills burrowed deep inside him, much more than Bobby Robson according to someone on this forum, can we raise our game even higher than when we last played Derby? This is what it will take to win Friday night in the midlands on a cold night, with Wayne Rooney marshaling his troops on. I would, not be surprised if we raised our game come Friday and win after our embarrassing loss to Barnsley. Equally, i would not be surprised if we win promotion back to the prem. I say if we do,we should worry about the state of our team when we get there. My deep worry is Scott Parker and his tactical blunders and that might put a spanner in the works. Choosing Steve Sess over Odoi is plain stupid because Sess is a terrible right back and worse than Christie. Neskins Kabano is showing some glimses of form for all his 60 seconds or so of game time against Millwall. He almost won it for us with a header against the crossbar, then to be dropped against Barnsley. Parker needs to get the basics right firstly, and i suggest he uses our game against Derby at the Cottage has a reminder in how we set up that day and go fronm there. Rocket science it is not, and there is no reason to revert back to plain stupidity when we have players like Mitrovic, Cavaliero, Knockheart, and Cairney who teams would wish for...

Owen - as you live in Derby, can I assume you will be leading the chants from the Fulham faithful from the stands on Friday night? Or will you be watching it from the comfort of your armchair?

OWEN - in short. you are saying. Big reward for promotion to the prem., a few so call fans don't want to see us promoted, the players need to sort themselves out for Derby and Parker must not be stupid again and stop playing Sess and start playing Kabano! What's your point again?
posted by John (Guest) - Wednesday 19th February 2020, 4:53 PM

Keetch' i am working too late to go up to Pride Park for this one, it has to be a Sky one. My mate normally offers me a free season ticket when his brother can't go for one reason or another. I have some good friends who are Derby fans, unfortunately, so it can get a bit awkward. John' our players need marshaling properly and sometimes i am not too sure if Parker is our man to it. Slavisa would get the best out of these lot no problem, especially him being around Mitrovic. Kabano looked like he was pushing for a 45 minute game-time don't you think? Not many opposition team will give us much space to play our football now so it is important more than ever to take advantage of the very few chances we create. Derby gave us plenty room to roam and make some good runs at the Cottage but i doubt they will do the same back at Pride Park. I just think that a part of management is instinctive, and maybe Parker could have slotted in Kabano. He looked sharp coming on at Millwall and he might have nicked it for us at the end. It is up to Scott Parker at the end of the day, and he makes those calls. Not convinced some of his are the right ones? It is so vital at this stage of the season and the position we are in, it would be sad to blow our chances...

The ongoing documentary the club is doing about the Europa League run is excellent, they’ve got interviews with Bobby Z, Brede, Roy, Hughes, Davies, Baird, etc. I’d been a casual football fan since the 90s, as a American who followed McBride, but that group of players really made me fall in love with the game and the club. The solidarity and discipline was unparalleled, but also when you watch the highlights you realize the skill these guys all had. Flicks, worldies, chips, saves. For me, that Fulham team sets the bar, even as exciting as Slav’s side was that went 23 unbeaten and won at Wembley. Roy got the best out of every player, they were all peaking in their careers at the same time, and they bled for the club. When fans get angry at Parker, I think it’s because we remember what real Fulham football looks like. At the time, I remember some were down on Roy for his conservative style, but history has proven that’s how you stay in the Prem, and even go to Europe, while an open style with flair players gets you relegated.

London calling to the faraway towns
All over Europe, the challenge is down
London Calling there’s nowhere to hide
The white tide is coming, the world’s greatest side
London calling to the Banks of the Nile
The Son of the Pharaohs, has made London smile
London calling, you’d better believe
Fulham will win the Europa League

CHORUS
We’ve been to the Baltic, we’ve conquered the Steppes
The Romans have fallen we’ve won in Donetsk
The white wave is rolling, the tide’s on the rise
The waters will lift us ‘cause we, Live by the river.

London Calling to the crowds of Turin
The Old Lady’s had it, she’s been done in
Were you there, at the Hammersmith End?
On the 18th of March Two Thousand and Ten
London calling generations to come
Fulham have beaten Juventus 4 – 1
London calling abroad and beyond
The Blues have been banished, the Whites carry on

CHORUS
Wolfsburg is waiting, then Hamburg is next
The Germans will crumble in SW6
The white wave is rolling, the tide’s on the rise
The waters will lift us ‘cause we, Live by the river.

We knocked on the door and went in and there was GC with his leg up in the air on some pulley thing and sitting next to him was Tommy Trinder complete with pork pie hat. He could not believe we had the balls to get past security which he found really funny! He was really pleased to see 2 young fans in our black and white scarves, he signed our programmes and said "thanks lads really appreciate you coming to see me"!! After we left Pete and I hugged each other shouting yessssss we had met our WC winner and FCC hero!! Never forget it happy days!

Anyway, we were there so long that we missed the last train back to London , oh s**t we thought , but had the bright idea of jumping on the players coach . When the players came out , which included George Best , Rodney Marsh and Bobby Moore , to our surprise , we were allowed on as long as we sat at the back of the coach , subsequently I found myself sitting next to Bestie, can’t remember too much of what was said but at least I got home in time for work the following day ! On a side night Jimmy Tarbuck and Cilla Black were on the coach , happy days .
