It is easy to score goals in the lower divisions. Strikers need the ball given to them in front of the goal. Midfielders need to score goal. Defenders need to score goals at set pieces.

It beggers belief that todays Daily Mail report on Fulham v West Ham has not one word relating to the actual game, it is reported by a Kathryn Batte, it’s a 350 word report on one subject namely Danny Ings, the only mention to the game is Ings 95 minute goal salvaged a point against Fulham, this was the only time Fulham was mentioned, Surely the Sports Editor should be asking Kathryn Batte why is there no mention of the game !!! Beggers Belief

The match report in the Sun was the same. There were three quite long columns about the game, but apart from giving our line up at the bottom of the third column, we are not mentioned. What is it the press don't like about us ?

Alright, shut up bitches we are just warming up. I feel we shall start clicking like a well oiled machine. Give em time to gel and we will shock and amaze. Don’t forget what and who we are. Arsenal-lite. Yaaa just be patient. Nelson looks a treat. Who’s next? Newcastle? We’ll have em. This side of ours are gonna start scoring goals. It’ll be sweet as a nut. Now you may begin your whining and complaining. NOBODY CARES

The reprobate who said Fulham West Ham were ordinary teams is talking nonsense as they are both good teams. We played well in the first half but missed a few good chances, they played well in the second half and we did well to hang on for as long as we did. This best League in the World there are no easy teams but if we can get better at finishing and improve the determination of the defence we become a very good team and finish high in the table.

Zod' we are not in prison so no need for you know what? I like your post because i think you are on to something and that something is this Fulham machine just getting started. Arsenal lite, lol, yes! And Nelson is rapid and he should feature from the start against Newcastle. We have big guns and they come no bigger than player of the season so far 'Adama Traore' who is getting better than he has ever shown anywhere. Andersen was a smart signing and his blocks and kick-outs from defence cuts down the potential goals opposition used to get when we messed about in defence. Andersen is also intelligent enough to pass the ball out when necessary which is what we need defending. I like your patients Zod and i agree that goals will come from Muniz etc. It is also important that we take our chances from midfield also, i mean players like Pereira, Bassey, and Traore missed big chances against West Ham. Don't just look at Muniz when chances are going begging elsewhere. We are all in it together in our team and with the fans so tell em Zod but what your 'er' p's and q's....

Is it about strikers yesterday?? Jimenez did his job. We didn’t score more because Traore missed a couple of half chance headers, probably should have a pen, Bassey definitely should have scored. I don’t recall Jimenez or even Muniz missed any sitters. So while I agree we are weak up front but losing 2 points yesterday had nothing to do with that problem.

Most of the missed chances in that match were by midfielders who need to improve their finishing. Pereira is the worst he looks incapable of scoring to the extent that when he shoots you know he will miss.

Watching yesterday’s game from the comfort of my armchair I had an excellent view of the incident and according to the Law 14 it was a stonewall penalty. Traore was running at speed bearing down on the goal with only the goalkeeper to beat when Kilman pushes him from behind and follows up with a forearm to the neck. It does not take much to fall when running at speed if someone pushes you from behind so, I find the comments by TTIN that it was only a soft push to be absurd. Traore was passed the last defender, Kidman, when pushed and therefore, was denied an opportunity to score. A penalty should have been awarded and Kilman shown a straight red card. Mr Robinson had a good view of the incident so why he looked over to the linesman who is running parallel with Traore, as opposed to behind him , I do not know. I can only assume he did not want to take responsibility, in other words he bottled it. Why VAR did not intervene I do not know, except for the fact it was only Fulham. Fulham could and should have been three up at half-time and we do really need a good striker in order to snap up half chances. Having dominated the first half it appeared that the break, following tea and biscuits or whatever players have nowadays, completely upset the players mindset as they let West Ham back into the game although, generally denying them any real chances before switching off in the last minute of stoppage time. The equaliser came from an innocuous throw in followed by sloppy defending. So Fulhamish and two points thrown away.

just because west ham made 5 subs - did we need to do the same? they had to make changes to try to change the game. we were in control of the game, even in the second half. Also last year in such situation, we'd switch to 5 at the back and maybe brought Diop on instead of Cairney and keep Jimenez in a deeper role. So penalty of not - we also have ourselves to blame!

Precisely, lunatic substitutions, as you say, were they necessary? We have a history of poor substitutions very late in the game. If nothing else it upset the balance of the team. If you’re in control stop tinkering.

Subs did there jobs when they came on needed fresh legs. Must take our chances when on top, gutting to only get a point but on the whole played well

Didn't get a good view of it from my seat, but on replay it looked like it was a 50/50 - VAR wouldn't have overturned whatever the ref's original decision was.

Finlay it was not 50/50. The Referee bottled it as he,knew if he awarded a penalty he would also have to issue a straight red card. How could it be a 50/50 when Traore was pushed from behind. Suspect you and the referee need to SpecSavers.

Not really any point banging on about whether it was a penalty or not as it’s a done deal nothing is going to change. The question we have to ask ourselves is, would he have scored? Based on our current goal scoring record, probably not.

Saw a lighter push outside the box foul given to West Ham after appeal for pen. I remember the barge shoulder to shoulder. But when did the law change when you could push someone in the back when they had beaten you for pace , and of course you go down puts you of balance when your moving that quickly. Seems to me since they banned the tackle from behind your pushed instead . Don’t get how anyone can say that’s not a pen . Any big club would have got pen for that player would have been sent of nothing said. Ream did it last season not so blatantly pen given Ream got red card

He dived the right way but it was just out of his reach to save. The defending up to that point was to blame, also Marco made substitutions that affected the strength of the squad. I am beginning to think Cairney may have reached the end of his usefulness.

Fulham continue to giveaway winning positions in the dying minutes. This is a continuation of our performances of last season where we squandered points. But for these lapses we would have finished significantly higher in the table. In financial terms it must be costing us at least the price of a much needed goal scorer. This season we have a far superior defence and there can be no excuses for this laxity. If we have the talent then the problem is the commitment and state of mind of the players to play to the final whistle and not switch off complacently considering the job is already done. How many times have we seen the ball lost direct from a throw in, like yesterday. It’s schoolboy stuff. I think I’ll go mad if I see one more player or poster opine the we “ should have won it”. We didn’t! Probably won’t until someone teaches these players how to manage a game. Sensible substitutions might help.

Fair points Mortlake …even a poor West Ham managed to wriggle a draw out of us. Their fans thought they won the cup final because they knew they had got out of jail. West Ham looked very poor yesterday can’t see them finishing in top half this season.

I can't find fault with anyone after that game against West Ham who we outplayed, especially in the first half. The one player for me who didn't leave everything out there is Pereira who needs a goal from somewhere. Pereira has ability and he should be doing better at his corners and his free-kicks are nothing to write home about. What we need from Pereira is the odd rare goal such as the one scored from Duran against a dire Everton who once again blew a two-goal lead, that was a thunderbolt. Apart from that moan i can't fault us Fulham and that game against the Hammers was the best we have played so far this season and we should be very happy and proud of our team who are improving in leaps and bounds. Any true Fulham fan who isn't happy about our progress and abilities are deluded and i feel we are now in the top ten of real football playing teams right now and improving. That build-up and the Smith-Rowe pass to Jiminez was sublime and brilliant jus fantastic! Bassey should have won it with his header and player of the season for me Adama Traore could have won it from his header. If you look at Traore's record he never really gets 90 minutes for any team he has played for and it is a true testament to Marco Silva who is the manager who gets the very best from fringe players who haven't reached their best level. I am certain that Traore will testify to that and many more players that come through Fulham. I was wary about Jarrod Bowen but we managed to keep him relatively quiet up until the very last few minutes when we should have seen out the game and these things happen, this is the prem and we can count our blessings. Just look at the plight of Everton who are blowing two goal leads, we were once like them but not anymore. Bowen who we kept quiet blew a decent chance earlier on the game when Leno saved a certain goal from him and that was a top-top save from Leno, he is a great keeper. Who ever doubted his ability over Rodak should go to Specsavers. My only criticism from the game is we should be staying switched on and from a quick throw-in involving Bowen to Ings who scored from his one chance we were excellent. Maybe Bowen had the edge took off him because he played for England but we still should be winning games like this now we have raised our level. I am drooling and excited about our pace now more than ever and we have a sub who should be getting more minutes for me and his name is Reise Nelson. Nelson is rapid and he will get the extra goals that will see us in the top eight if Marco gives him more game-time for sure. He had one good chance when he beat his man running down that left side, the kid is awesome and we should use him more. Marco Silva got his regular yellow card for being too exuberant but who cares? Marco is playing the smart game management by dropping Muniz who needs a goal but can't get one for whatever reason. Muniz is a nightmare for any defender and we have a player in him and we should be patient because Marco will man manage and get the best from him, you will see no worries. Along with Traore who is a monster nightmare for any defenders coming up against him, Traore for me is the biggest surprise and improved player we have and he will get better and better. We are a proper team now this season and a lot more teams will know about Fulham who don't get enough credence and game-time from Sky or anyone...

Yes, good points, Owen. I’ve wondered for some time about Pereira. For me, it’s a bit of a mystery how he keeps his place, starting every game, keeping Tom Cairney, Harrison Reed and Harry Wilson on the bench . He buzzes about but seems really quite ineffectual. Can’t remember the last time he scored or even made an assist.

Defense looked like they were trying to play them offside from the late throw in ! Robinson completely at fault for allowing Bowen to blind side him . Saying that we should have had a stonewall penalty for the push in the back as Traore was about to score not surprised Marco was yellow carded for complaining . PC bbc said it was 50/50 disappointing comment from Danny Murphy if I recall he was pushed in the back at Man U complainrd like hell as he was about to score but of course little Fulham get nothing at Old Trafford similarly at Craven Cottage away end . Makes you wonder about neutrality of referees

Yes' Andersen needs a mention from the West Ham game he was superb without being a standout and that is Andersen's game. Did you notice the blocks and instant kick-outs from the danger areas? Apparently Andersen wasn't the standout defender for Palace and this has been noted now Palace are having one of their worst run of games. Andersen is a great passer of the ball out from defence firstly and he will do the necessary things to prevent a goal so expect a yellow every other game or so. What was happening with Diop and Bassey was that together they were doing too many suicide passes out of defence that got us into trouble. Andersen will not mess about in danger moments and his instant hoof it from the danger areas save goals from the opposition more than we can know and that is Andersen in a nutshell. Bassey is more a left sided centre-back but with Andersen i think Marco has nailed it and our defence now looks rock solid. We shouldn't dwell on our 90 odd minute lapse because we had more than enough chances to win it if only Bassey, Pereira, and Traore put away their chances. This is prem football and i agree we had the beating of West Ham but even they will put away some chances and we limited them to our credit which shows how far progressive we are now.

There were two poor teams today, West Ham were particularly poor but we just lack the cutting edge of a decent striker. It’s been said before Muniz and Jimenez are not the answer, Silva is already not convinced by either and we will see him chop and change his selection until we get a decent striker.
Replies
Correct in your statement about not being good enough, but I’m not sure that in todays game either had enough service. Muniz puts himself about more than Jimenez, but neither really get enough service.

According to Mike Dean the bar has been raised for giving penalties. It seems fouls in the area are no longer considered to be a penalty. Very odd comment but if that’s the case so be it…

From my seat, that looked a blatant penalty to me, but you never know, we could have missed it. I wasn't a happy bunny coming home tonight, and after that very late goal, and I was thinking, oh not again. How many wins have we thrown away over the years, with late goals against us, as it seems a regular event. We should be good enough to avoid a relegation scrap, but I have a horrible feeling that we are going to be in the bottom 10 all season, with a constant look over our shoulders. Newcastle at home is another hard match coming up, as they always seem to take the points away from CC.

It was a clear penalty….both in real time and watching again. When an attacker gets wrong side of defender and there is contact it’s a penalty. The defender makes no effort to play the ball but just ploughs in the back of Traore. An absolute disgrace it wasn’t given….the ref bottled it and looked to his linesman who didn’t give it.

I had a very good view of that penalty incident, and I can assure you that Troare was pushed in the back, and if that had been at the other end, West Ham would have been taking a spot kick. All of the people around us, were furious about that decision, and we could fully understand Marco blowing his top. However we should still have taken all three points, as we were streets ahead of the Hammers. The semi good news is that we have stopped losing to West Ham on a regular basis. Now we need to do the same to our other nemesis clubs like Newcastle, Palace, and Brentford.

Normally I would be up the wall with what happened this afternoon but for some reason apart from the fact that we will draw and win other games which we wont deserve its seems that the MIX is begining to blend and looking exciting. Anderson is a class above Diop and will win us points.Adama is getting back to his old form and for 90 minutes. Smith Rowe and Nelson will give us emotional moments so we should be optimistic. Not happy though with Pereira and convinced castagne is a better option to Tete. On tuesday we go to Preston. I know some have no interest but its an offcial game and we nead to stay in that competions because it gives other squad players competitive matches. Marco will probably field a different XI all of which could have started today. COYW.

We will never change until we get a goal scorer, not sure where he comes from but what we have on the books now will never get us into the top eight. We dominate so many games and get stuffed by late goals.

West Ham couldn’t believe their luck, they were playing a team that would allow them to score an easy goal in the final minute of extra time, two Fulham players both missed chances to intercept the ball in the penalty area and bang the balls in the net, goodnight night nurse, two points dropped, will we ever learn???

Against West Ham we will need to up our game which is not up to the level needed to beat them tomorrow. Muniz has shown promise but he needs goals and he will know it. We also need more from the likes of Pereira, Wilson, etc because our level is not there yet to beat what is in front of us never mind the big boys. I would look closer to home and bring out more from the Arsenal contingent and i mean the likes of Reise Nelson who looks rapid and he is in the mood to do damage in this London battle. I don't see enough from our regular line up that will trouble the Hammers unless we improve in knots and Sessegnon deserves a big shout on his past form in my opinion if the going gets tougher than we anticipated. Adama Traore is not a finisher but he is useful and he can provide the assist needed but we have to turn up against them like we know we can... COME ON GUYS SHOW US!!!!!!!!!

It’s only money part 2: ‘Low-skilled migrants are costing the taxpayer a staggering £150,000 each, according to the latest findings from the OBR. The tax watchdog revealed that migrants coming to Britain are draining public resources, such as the NHS, while the tax they contribute is minimal, as low-skilled migrants earn half the average wage. And these are legal migrants… By the time a low-skilled migrant who’s come to the UK aged 25 reaches pension age at 66, they’ve already cost the taxpayer £151,000. And if they make it to 80, the bill skyrockets to nearly £500,000. Bear in mind the price tag doesn’t include education or other youth services. So the bill for the taxpayer could be even higher for low-skilled migrants who come to the UK before the age of 25’

This war has gone on for more than two years now and it will be three years before we know it. The West causing provocation to Putin is a bit more than Nato who are set up to keep tabs on the old enemy of Communism and the Soviet Union. The 2nd world war went on no longer than 5-6 years and i have no doubt that somebody can and will tell me how long exactly. Putin is not even in any league a war general like your Napolians or even Alexander the Great and he has badly miscalculated this war which he foolishly started. The Russian economy will slowly grind to an halt because wars cost big bucks and even with the help of North Korea and Iran Putin is not even close to victory over the Ukrainians who in his mind are Russians in disguise. The Ukraine rightly deserves and gets the help needed to stand up to Putin who is trying the convince Russia that they are a threat to real Russians. How do you think Putin will defeat Nato, America, and the rest of the world when they can't even finish off where he started in Ukraine? No' this war is a serious misjudgement of calculations by Putin who has to convince Russia that Ukraine and the West will attack Russia. Nato alone will defeat Russia who admittedly has the nukes which are dangerous if fired and hit their targets. That Nuclear button will take minutes to launch off and America and satelights will know exactly when they are launched and react accordingly. If anyone has noticed that the kinsal or the greatest undetectable Russian missile was shot down by a basic atcam made in the 1980's. Those yankee-doodle-doo folks who some think are war-mongers and arrogant are truly the world policemen and they will know when mad Putin decides to press the nuclear button on a Western threat that he believes wants to destroy Russia. The yanks will have noted that missiles Putin has acquired from North Korea are unreliable and shoot off in different directions before you can whistle dixie and even the Ukranians joke about that one. If Putin and Russia was so great how come they need the help of Korea and Iran to defeat Ukraine who we are supplying weapons too along with the Americans and a few other nations? The weapons supplied are old equipment that is nothing to write home about but we have to admire those Atcams dated from the 1980's and Bradleys and some of our own stuff which are old stuff and would have been scrapped anyway. This so called war in particular is mistimed by Putin but in many ways, it is a great lesson for future wars and if anyone has noticed the great use of drones that is a game changer in all future wars. I know it isn't real but just imagine a world war like 'Terminator Salvation' and with all the drones and high tech flying about and i think future wars will be fought like this. Humans can't possibly sustain war for longer than so long and it is interesting to see how long those Russian guys can stay out in the heat of it for longer than 3 years without a break. Putin is not Alexander the Great or even a war general that is in the top ten of war generals and the great Russian army is struggling to recruit from a generation of youths who are more interested in playing video games like call of duty from the comfort of their armchairs and thats where we are at folks. Even we would struggle to recruit and motivate so many hundreds of thousands needed to join Putins war.

That's Chelsea, Fulham, Brentford and Palace?? what's your view? Where would you rank Fulham? Would you swap Fulham ownership for any of the other 3?? Chelsea clearly have far too much money and playing monopoly with it so for me they are at the bottom unless you like Las Vegas. Otherwise to be fair all other 3 clubs they are well run and managed. I get the feeling that Palace is still a selling club, and Brentford will not go BIG. I know many fans don't like our owners but I think our club is well run with a good manager and a balanced investment on players, training facilities, stadium and outside interest. So right now, I wouldn't swap Khan for the Brentford or Palace owners. So Fulham top for me!

And he’s still would come 4th in my list, The Muddymen come 3rd Fulham fans who saved the club with Jimmy Hill. But didn’t have enough money to run the club. We also had a few crooks I won’t mention

On balance I’d say with the exception of Chelsea they are all currently pretty well run, as we all know hasn’t always been the case. Have to admit to a sneaky respect for Brentford in particular. Really do punch way above their weight. Watkins and Tooney have been great financially sound signings for them and definitely balanced the books. Not sure they’ll keep it going at current level.

Just started watching the England game, why I don’t know, and the England manager stood with lips tightly close during the National Anthem. Personally, I feel he is disrespectful in not joining the England players and supporters in singing the anthem. At least in the game against Ireland he had a spurious reason for not singing. I sincerely hope he does not become the permanent manager. Before Paddy posts a barbed reply, I consider when you represent your country you should show respect, he does not.

What's the big deal. Who says you must sing. it's like people say if you don't wear the poppy you are not respecting the remembrance. You don't need to cry at a funeral so show you are sad. Or some fans think you don't stand up at Fulham you don't love Fulham. Apart from the general courtesy (clapping hands, stay silent or still, etc) People don't need be dictated how they show their love or respect.

I can't honestly say that I'm happy about our non singing anthem temporary manager, but I would be pleased if he could by some miracle turn England into a good to watch footballing team, but that is far from the case. I know we have a few of our top players missing, but Finland were a pretty poor outfit, and any decent side would have had a hatful of goals, and even Greece scored 3 goals against them. We will probably get through this below standard group, but so far our performances have not been very encouraging, and it's about time that the FA gave us a permanent manager, that we could have a bit of faith in. By the way congratulations to Harry Kane on his 100th cap, and his two well taken goals last night, but we need more than him to score goals.

For many years now, I still stop complaining why we need an international break 2 weeks into the season when most of the international players barely recovered from the summer of international football. More to the point, who does the international football benefit?? do we need so many games to justify the existence of FIFA and EUFA?? Every club prey their players come back not injured. We have too many international games (e.g. almost 20% of the games played by Ronaldo are international games!) and too many breaks and the most stupid break is the one we are in now. I think its time for a reform. The popularity (at least in the country) of international football is diminishing. Players appetite to play is diminishing. So we need a major shake up. Why can't we simply make the EUFA and World cup larger event and only play those games, without pointless qualifiers. whatever, we need a change and less international games. rant over!

You can bet none of them know it. It should be made compulsory to sing it daily at schools and in cinemas after the film. Of course it help if the Monarch wasn’t a jug eared eco loon(and doing very well out of it) but insanity has never deterred us in the past.

"God save the king" what a dirge, bet even our late queen even detested it. I wonder how many people even realise there's 5 other verses and what the words mean. Well at least the commonwealth enjoy singing their hearts out to it. Think its time to change our national anthem to William Blake's Jerusalem

Doesn’t matter what the anthem i, I’d opt for the Sex Pistols version myself. Should be taught in schools and compulsory to sing it every day. I doubt ‘Jerusalem’ would go down well in certain schools.

The interim manager of England is Irish in all but birth and has a perfect right to not sing the UK anthem. The press love to raise false controversy and simple minded people believe it.

I hear you. Perhaps Labour want to punish (tbh maybe rightly so) the large number of pensioners who naively, stupidly and fooled (by Boris and Farage) voted to leave the EU. Having left, we are 4-5 years behind the growth curve and left with little money in the kitty.

To my mind democracy stands for a fair debate, culminating in voting with full knowledge for what your vote indicates. That was definitely NOT the case with the Brexit referendum.

Correct. No one on the remain side mentioned having to repopulate Europe with the dregs of the world. I’m guessing if the vote was held now Brexit would be a landslide. Europe is an open sewer full of invaders , gangsters and petty geographical in fighting from the Balkan pickpockets to basque separatists. The sooner Brexit is ratified and we cut ourselves loose from this filth with actual border controls the better.

Paddy - just wonder if you have any facts and statistics that support your assertion that more percentage of immigrants commit crime than British Citizen (or are you just repeating Farage's words)? Also its clear now that Brexit was not the solution for reducing illegal immigrants. So quite surprise if you think another Brexit vote today, there will be a landslide.
posted by JohnC (Guest) - Sunday 08th September 2024, 5:30 PM

Well, I’d not actually said immigrants commit more crime but I think you’d agree there’s more British in Britain than foreigners. The prison population is 90,000 and over 10,000 of them are foreigners. Now, for the past 20 years or so governments have been giving out British passports like sweets so how many of those prisoners are in that category is anyone’s guess. I think I’m a bit like the Home Office, I haven’t a clue who’s in the country but I do know the crime rate has rocketed in the past 35 years despite the constantly changing way statistics are gathered. It’s probably the far right doing all the stabbing etc.
posted by Paddy O’Doors (Guest) - Sunday 08th September 2024, 5:54 PM

You are correct, approximately 11.6% of prisoners in this UK are foreigners. However, my understanding of the definition here is people not born in UK (I personally think that's unfair definition - e.g. a 50 year old man lived in UK for 49 years is deemed a foreigner??!). However, taking this foreigner definition, according to the last censor, we have 16% foreigners in this country. Still 30% less than 11.6%. I totally agree we need a better and quicker screening and the rules to accept immigrants maybe a bit too soft - but that's global human rights that we have signed up to. Not EU. Hence, Brexit doesn't help!

As I said I’ve no idea. No one does. Think you’ll find that that British passport holders in prisons who are from other countries but the Home Office have given passports to are counted as British. Personally I think the immigration topic is nonsense. There’s 70 million people here so more than enough to staff the NHS and care homes and deliver pizza. Anyone who doesn’t want to do it should have their greedy lips removed from the teat of benefits.

‘The Centre for Migration Control has just released a bombshell report, revealing that migrants are far more likely to be arrested than to their British-born counterparts. The analysis, based on data from police forces across England and Wales, projects that in the past three years alone, a staggering 369,000 arrests were linked to foreign-born nationals. Looks like while the prisons are filling up, so are the rap sheets of migrants… For context, in 2023 the arrest rate for British nationals stood at one per 94 people. For foreign-born nationals, that number shoots up to one in 70—a whopping 34% higher than the native-born population. Meanwhile, Farage has been calling on Labour to deport the “10,000 foreign nationals in our prisons” instead of letting “dangerous criminals” roam free. The real Leader of the Opposition…’

Kids can’t buy a house because too many people are chasing too few houses. Think the phrase too many people is important. Labour was purportedly the champion of the working class but it appears they want to concentrate on imported non working individuals who will drain the system more quickly and efficiently than British pensioners ever will. Tories are the same but Labour will accelerate the process. Immigration and net zero will destroy the UK and some idiot puts up a post blaming hard working pensioners. PS Pointless; my state pension is the higher amount of £12,380 pa because I paid the higher rate of NI for 30+ years. May I remind you that the minimum wage is nearly double that at c£23,000!!!! Just because I saved all my life as well so that I can live a little less stressfully, why should I give up my "few hundred quid a week". You should be ashamed of yourself for even considering such a post!! In addition, my wife worked for the NHS most of her life caring for people and saving lives, paying into a government pension that has been massively reduced by 65% under the last Labour government and has an additional state pension of £11,542 when she can eventually retire at age 67 (I will be 70)!! Today's society want everything given to them on a plate today and don't want to save and work hard for anything - your post reads like you may be sat in one of those seats pointless! Lastly, I would also like to point out that some of us had to hold down three jobs when interest rates were more than double what they are now in the 1980's!! Rant over but perhaps a better thought through argument from you next time!!

However, if I spent all the money I earned, I would be rewarded with the pension. Yes there are a lot of needy people and they should be helped but equally there are also a lot of people living above their means all their lives (not saving any money even though they could), labour government are choosing to reward them.

Anyone can return or pay money to the government. Just a simple process to set it up via HMRC. Just because you have to pay 20% or 40% tax doesn’t mean you can’t offer to pay 50% tax if you choose to. Despite all the hand wringing on telly etc. about public services and housing you can guarantee not one of the bleeding hearts is paying a penny more tax than they have to.

A very interesting discussion with most posters firmly against Labour’s illogical and dangerous policy of implementing policies which will hurt many pensioners who do not live in big houses. I feel terribly sad for those who are struggling to survive on limited pensions with utility bills stating to astronomical levels. In addition, Council Tax increases seemingly out of control due to incompetent councils frittering away money leading to many declaring bankruptcy over the past two years. Now the Government has decided to alter the bands based on the current value of houses which means that Council Tax will increase sharply allowing councils to waste more money on idiotic schemes. Interestingly, Paddy makes some valid points, for a change, and many others including MST why Labour must not penalise the elderly. At the time of my retirement I elected to defer my State Pension for three years as I received 10% p.a. and with the triple lock my pension is in excess of £17k but a large chunk goes in tax. The strategy behind the raid on the elderly has nothing to do with the country’s debt burden it is purely robbing Peter to pay Paul who happens to be the Government pay masters, the Unions. Strange how quickly the rail and junior doctors strikes were resolved following Labour’s victory which, to me, suggest the strikes were politically motivated. However, the greedy rail unions have already decided to come back for more. Next we will see a wealth tax which will affect those who own their own houses whilst those with real wealth will follow Charlie Mullins and move to a friendly tax country with Eire and certain European countries quite happy to welcome tax exiles. Looks like we are all in for a rough time as the Conservative Party needs a radical overhaul which will take years as they do not realise the damage the have done to their cause by their cavalier approach during their last term in office and with no prospective leader in sight. They have lost the public trust which will take a decade to repair and the removal of the tired top echelon which needs to be replaced by a younger group who are actually in touch with the man in the street. In the meantime, Starmer, Reeves and Rayner will wreck havoc with the economy which may well result with a run on the £ driving up inflation. Whilst I have lived my life I fear for my children and grandchildren.

Agree the Conservative Party need an immediate overall and i am not sure the public will buy into any of the next potential candidates for leadership to tell you the truth. They have behaved shamefully and badly starting with the Boris lies, the Matt Handcock affair etc etc and we could write a book on how to use Trussenomics and so on. Saying all that, these are unusual times and only a wise man will see and come through the mist. If only we didn't have the biggest pandemic in a hundred years which cost us millions and leading into billions after all the costs. If only not for the war in Ukraine, Ukrainian refugees, 22 thousand rescued Afghans from the Taliban and i could go on. Flip and Government around and would they fair any better in dealing with a load of this? How is Labour and Mr flip-flop doing so far? He gives a big pay rise to train drivers already on 60-70 grand a year etc, why not reward our over-worked NHS staff before the train staff etc? Something just doesn't sit right with this Labour Government who really have dodged a bullet, how would they have coped or make decisions on who gets what money and how much etc? No point going on and on but if only i could make a ringtone saying over and over again? 14 years of Conservative rule and this is the worst it's ever been, really?

Reiss Nelson will be the dynamite that sparks us into action and all we need now is to integrate this kid into our way of playing and then wind him up put him out there and wooosh, watch him go! The loss of Dec Reed and Willian is a big loss in players that can turn a game around in an instance when we need them and you only know the reality and truth when it's gone and those guys are gone now. Our only problem is stumping up the 34 million and maybe more after Reiss makes a brilliant season and then we might have competition for his services. Dynamite kid Reiss Nelson is not the only component we need to really get our season ino gear, we also need the likes of our regular in-the-house players such as Pereira and Wilson to show up once in a while and make a difference. We have loads more competition for places now and some of our guys need to come out of their comfort zone and perform, work hard and score some goals. Yes' we know' Pereira and Wilson are not target men or strikers and that is a different subject that we need to address but i think these guys need to come up with some special dead-ball free-kicks we know they are capable of. My player of the moment is Adama Traore and i am amazed and pleasantly surprise how Marco Silva is getting the best from Traore who looks undroppable now he is finding his feet into our system. We are used to seeing Traore in bit parts and coming on for the odd few minutes to run a game down and i think he accepted this role for most of his career so far but now Marco can see what use Traore is capable of and by gosh, he is playing him more for 90 minutes and what a difference he is to us. Yes' we look a bit light in the striker department and the likes of Muniz and Jimenez look a bit goal-shy and some fans are in tears of despair and are at a loss to know where and when goals are coming from these two light-weights. I think Marco knows the capabilities of this Fulham team and set-up and with Smith Rowe and Reiss Nelson, we should do okay for goals. I think the idea is to be patient and just roll with the jelly! When we eventually start clicking into gear, we will launch off just like a NASA rocket fired into space. Let's just hope we don't continue to mis-fire and we eventually spark a fire and launch off our season because so far we are a damp squib if truth be told. A hundred million plus misspent do you think so far this season? On the contrary 'Mr Bond' i think we will do exceedingly well. Watch this space!!!

Just wanted to say the game on the 14th against West Ham with home advantage is tough and i think we will have to raise our levels and our game. They got a spanking from Man City and the big giant at his best already going into this season. West Ham created some good chances and coming away with a loss they should have gotten at least two goals. Our current game level is not good enough to beat the Hammers, Marco will have to change something...

Apart from last seasons 5-0 win over West Ham, they have been a bit of a bogey team to us, both at home and away, and to do the double over them, was quite unbelievable, so they will no doubt be looking out a bit of revenge. Saying that, we are no pushover now, and I will be a bit surprised, and rather disappointed, if we don't come out with at least a point from next weekend's encounter.

At the moment there is "The Dugout" facility as the only hospitality option open. As it is it's quite a scrum on the concourse on match days, so filling the middle sections, without the hospitality lounges open for them to go into, will tip another load of people into the general melee. So its hard to see the stand being fully open before then i.e. Dec 21

Adrion Pajaziti has joined Croatian side HNK Gorica on loan until the end of the season. This deal represents Adrion's second loan move, after the midfielder made 11 appearances for FK Haugesund in 2023. The 21-year-old scored in Fulham's 6-1 pre-season win against Watford, and also featured in games against Benfica and Sevilla in Portugal. Everyone at Fulham wishes Adrion the very best in Croatia.

Martial Godo has signed a new contract with Fulham. The 21-year-old has agreed terms on a deal that keeps him at Craven Cottage until the summer of 2028. Joining from Margate in March 2022, Martial signed following a successful trial period, making his First Team debut five months later in a Carabao Cup tie at Crawley Town. Having signed a new contract at Fulham last summer, he spent last season on loan at Wigan Athletic, where he directly contributed to eight goals in 34 appearances, helping the Latics to a top half finish in League One. The 21-year-old featured heavily in our First Team during pre-season, earning minutes against Benfica, Sevilla and Hoffenheim. Martial Godo in action for Fulham against Watford After putting pen to paper on his new deal, Martial said: "I’m delighted and honoured to extend my stay at such an amazing and historic Club. I can only thank God for allowing this to happen. It's a proud moment for both my family and I. "Last season on loan at Wigan went very well considering it was my first senior professional season. It allowed me to grow, learn and adapt so much both on and off the pitch, which helped me better myself in my development as a professional. "I’m very pleased with last season and some of the experiences and friendships I gained while being out on loan. While there, I also had the honour of representing England, a privilege I will never forget. I’d like to thank everyone at the club, from the manager Shaun Maloney, to the spectacular fans who made my stay so special. "This season, I would like to make my Premier League debut, and a few more appearances, possibly chipping in with some goals and assists along the way. But mostly, I just want to keep growing and improving around the amazing coaching staff and players at this Club, giving myself the best possible chance to keep edging closer to showing the potential I have as a young player."

I hear Nuamah cried and ran away (probably to his mummy) at the thoughts of signing for Fulham. I hate to think if he had signed and then for him to hate to be at Fulham every day and every night! A £25m unhappy player isn’t a good investment. Clearly dodged a bullet!! On the subject of unhappy players - while Smith-Rowe said he’s really happy here, I find his body and facial language in games look like a player with regrets. Is it just me? I hope it’s just down to fitness and just how he looks!

My big concern on this is an agent pushing a young man (20) to do what he does not want to do to make money, when he’s ment to be looking after him. It seems if you watched it unfold on deadline day the player had know say as the agent had him going to Everton Forest and fulham while he tied to fill his pocket with cash. When are clubs going to stick together and refuse to use this agents. Yes the young man was weak when I was that age would have told him where to go and sacked him. Yes could of cost us a lot of money and a unhappy player on our hands, while a agent fills his pocket’s

Strange Anderson was under Tony’s watch when came on loan,we tried evidently to get matt target why overpriced often injured and too old for a good return on any outlet ,and is iwobi on our scouting dept with Rowe and neilson on loan from arsenal, perhaps he chattered them up to come to fulham that’s why he’s not been playing well to tired scouting arsenal failures, and then silva got jealous and sold stansfield because of his baby munis the no9 for fulham nickname mr softy.

Khan promised Marco a winger and we tried everywhere to get one and when time ran out, we got Neilson on loan. I suspect he was not on our top 3 or even 5 targets. We got Neilson on loan and if he’s rubbish, we’d just send him back so it was a good move under the circumstances. But silly to suggest Iwobi asked Khan to bring his friend (not even sure they are good mates) in. All signing decisions are made by Khan and Marco. It was a bit strange going for a Targett unless there was a risk of losing Robinson in the final days of the transfer window. Overall, it was a decent transfer window.

Marco will say the positions we wants to fill the HR people will suggest possible player to fill the position and he will probably rank them and the recruiters will go and see who they can get. I am sure Marco watches lots of football and has recognised what a talent Anderson is.

First of all if you are already registered click on login and enter your original login details. Then it will ask you for your user name and then hopefully it will tell you it has sent an activation email, which may end up in your junk box. If you find it just click on the link. If you are not registered then it should be fairly simple by clicking on the register box and follow the instructions. Unfortunately, more often than not it tells you “site failure, try again”. Because of both my age, and disability now, unfortunately I cannot attend matches like I used to, but of course I'm still and ardent fan, and I really enjoy watching the highlights and even the whole game at times on the official website. However for the past couple of weeks, although I have tried looking at the extended highlights, but I can't find anyway of logging on, whereas with the short highlights, there is a log on sign in the top left hand corner. Maybe my old brain can't figure the way to log on to the extended, so could anyone please let me know how to do it ? Thanks.

West Ham at home on the 14th after the international break will be interesting to say the least and it will be a proper game. We will need to raise our game to West Ham in a few weeks or we will get beat, its as simple as that. West Ham didn't take their chances against City who beat them 3-1 and i think maybe a 3-2 loss would have been fairer but there is no fairness in the game of football. I think it is time we give Joachim Andersen the vacant job of central defender pronto and also the captain role no ifs no buts, no arguments! Andersen needs no introduction and his vast experience is what we need now! My next suggestion is a controversial one but this guy has made an impact time and again before in the past and he is worth a punt. Sessegnon could be and should be slotted in the left side at midfield further up from Robinson where he can roam upfield at will. Sessegnon is a fine impact player and he can make things happen if given the chance. Sess came through more than 90 minutes against Birmingham and i thought, well done Marco' now bring him in for Ipswich, but he didn't. We need changes from the likes of Pereira who thinks it is a certain that he will play week in and week out. Sadly we have no more impact players that i can think of so we turn to a talented loanee wants again from Arsenal by the name of 'Reiss Nelson'!!! This kid is dynamic and fast, we need his quickness, his prowess, and his ability to link up set up and even score goals. Marco Silva needs to lose that Fulham players first tag and put these 3 in straight away, no arguments against West Ham. West Ham's best player for me is Jarrod Bowen and i wouldn't sell him for less than 100 mill. They have him and not sold him which is astounding, how do you keep a player like that being a smaller club? The one player for me who is undroppable is Adama Traore who is proving an impact player without the finishing touch sadly but he is still above a few of ours because of his pace and his assist isn't bad.
Replies
Sorry Owen, dont think Sess has enough to play the competition for places is hotting up. Castagne is pushing Tete Cuenca will be looking at Bassey's place, he can certainly knock a long ball very well as seen when playing against Birmingham. Andersen for Diop looks a certainty, once again the ability to supply long diagonals accurately the bonus.Berg and Lukic look to be the partnership in the middle with Berg's height the bonus. Forward players Iwobi Perrera and Smith-Rowe, Central strikers Muniz and Jiminez width supplied by Traore, Nelson and Wilson. Cairney, Reed and young King especially must be given game time. Don't think he will make the subs bench against West Ham.

Currently 11th in the table. Should we be satisfied with that? Not too bad some might opine but Brighton, Brentford, Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth above us, I don’t think so. FFC have progressed little in the past few seasons. Something needs to change, we are better than this, or should be. Each of these teams Nottingham apart have worked marvels and have surpassed us in acquisitions, management and development. I hope the owners are taking the stats on board and will take the necessary steps to up the anti. First step teach these very well paid clowns how to pass a ball.

After all the years our owners from last year are copying other clubs which they have been doing for years buying and selling, but have they gone too quick off the mark with stansfieild especially as it now turns out exeter get 20pc of fee.And how many youngsters who slipped the net through not being professional. And finally is silva a good premier league manager yes championship but premier league jury’s out why.Disreguard hull and Watford that was more internal problems but Everton is a different story they spent loads of money under silva and at the time Dof and their present manager is still selling players theyaccumulated under silva regime everton bought iwobi for 33 mill we bought for 22mil.The player has his moments and scored some important goals at just turned 28 he is another player who can turn hot and cold it’s seems a lot of our players have that profile especially now we bought 2 from arsenal and now 1 on loan, arsenal of old recently were a team who blow hot and cold which they have now gone in a different direction and we are buying overpriced players who arsenal are trying to get rid,you wonder if silva asked iwobi about Rowe and 100000 a week winger on loan on that money he better be good I doubt it.The next few weeks will be interesting.
