Lives mean nothing to some and people are treated like a video game where killing earns brownie points. I saw someone driving in the fast lane less than a bicycles length from a motorbike at 80mph the other day. I’m sure the car driver just saw a chunk of metal rather than a human life! Longer prison terms without parole would help but we don’t have room in our jails. I don’t agree with capital punishment but maybe that’s the only solution for heinous crimes - it would certainly free up some prison space. I read recently that someone got six years for lying on a CV yet manslaughter gets 18 months. Rant over!!

I assume due to the fact he in reality just wanted to see out his contract (don’t want to be seen as someone quitting again). As a result, Muniz development regress, Bobb struggled, Kevin still running around slightly headless despite the amazing football skills, Smith-rowe still look disinterest. The only player progressed in the last year is King. Saying all that when Marco was fully committed- he’s still probably the best manager we have had! He made the team competed with some very big teams!!

Common theme in your player selections. They are all failures and relegation expert!! Yes, a bit of a risk with the new manager but could also be exciting! None of the managers Brentford, Brighton, palace, Bournemouth brought in the last 4-5 years had any premier league experience. They took some risk and it paid off. So if we’ve done our homework, it could work for us too.

The next thing is to get used to, how to spell his name, and what do we call him for short ? Obviously Alvaro is unknown to most of us, so we don't know whether he is a good or bad choice by Tony and Daddy Khan. The biggest question now is, are we going to strengthen our playing squad, within the financial rules, which might be difficult to encourage top players to join, with the limited wages we can pay, and bearing in mind, we are not in any type of European competition, which is another downer. Just because we might get players from Real Madrid, doesn't mean that they are super stars. We might just as well take a chance with a Championship goal scorer, and they would jump at the chance of Premier League spot. The next few weeks are going to be interesting. We just MUST get a new striker in from, somewhere.

We are bound to lose a few players for that reason and the new manager may take a dislike to certain players. a few more players than usual will leave therefore so at least a greater number of new players will join. Watch out for vigorous late and hurried transfer window.

I don’t want an old and past sell by date manager nor I’d want someone who spent their career in lower leagues. Arbeola played and managed by top managers. So if he’s smart, potential is clearly there. Who knows if we will be chasing the league or running away from the bottom. But I am reasonably ok to give Arbeola a shot! One thing for sure is he won’t be here for 5 years. He will be sacked or be poached by the big boys very quickly!!

posted by OWEN - Saturday 04th July 2026, 11:10 PM Foul throws have never been legal. most refs do not notice or do not care, but refs must follow the rules not just the rules they approve of. The thing I have noticed about these useless refs at the World Cup, they give fouls when ever a big team player falls over, they largely ignore worse fouls and the VAR only points our real incident not seen or wrongly interpreted by the ref. At least one thing is working properly.

When I was a referee on the Isthmian League, I was known as the throw in king, and over the years of which luckily there were many, I could hear the captains saying "watch your throws today lads" as you know who the ref is ! ! I watch every throw on every game on the TV, and I can't remember the last time a foul throw was given. Apart from the actual throws now many times do we see players stepping onto the field of play to take a throw. I am given to understand from a friend of mine who is a Premier League official, that the referees and linesmen, have been given instructions to ignore poor throw ins, to get on with the game.

However, in the present World Cup it appears the majority of throw ins are illegal with players either standing on the pitch or not executing the throw in correctly. Sadly, the referees/ linesmen are not taking any action and the referee of the France game should be sent home in disgrace. Congratulations to France for winning and staying calm under extreme provocation.

Most fans these days seem to have modern TV sets, like I do, and I will therefore get a good night's sleep, and I will avoid the score, and then sit and watch a recording of the match. If you don't know the result, what difference does it make if you either watch it live, or record the game. At least you don't have to listen to the half time waffle.

Prefer to concentrate my congratulations on TC to be honest. 11 (maybe 12) years at the same club. Hopefully he’ll get a testimonial this term. Should have happened at 10 years to be honest. Loyalty deserves more attention than money grabbing in my book and Wilson had half a dozen or so good games over his time so “not all that” in my opinion.

TC will be in the history book alongside some of the great names. But how many TCs are there nowadays. No one in current squad is anywhere near him. But it doesn't mean we can't appreciate other players maybe not at the same level of loyalty but nevertheless, unlike some very disloyal young players we have had in the past, Harry did ok and done he's bit for us.

Why not a move to Villa who are more established in this league? And sadly my irritation falls on Marco also. Both Wilson and Marco kept the club waiting in limbo and we didn't know for sure what their next move was which is very unsettling not just for fans, but everybody else connected with Fulham and i think it also impacted our game and results for a long while into the season. I also think Marco lost his focus along with Wilson and sadly this is what money and selfish ambition does to a person. It is hard to forget that Marco and Wilson were offered the equivalent of the crown jewels to stay with Fulham and this knowledge leaves a bad taste. It's a shame it has come down to this and it could and should have all been so different. Saying all that, they both still played their part in our good history but they both could have left on better grounds.

I think a lot a the ref are very poor, the TV pundits seem to think the refs are good to let so many fouls go. A lot of them came from an era when players got away with a lot more than they do now. What I like now is that nasty players are not now admired for their nastiness.

All the so called top teams have been surprised at how much better the other teams are now they have proper managers who try to get the best out of each player and the team. We did well to beat such a team. Mexico are not in anyway a fancied team but are well managed. They will be about the same standard as Conga so if we can play a bit better we will win. We have a good manager who will make the best of what he has.

I’m not sure club managers feel the need to do their business in public. The heat from the media they understandably want to deflect. There’s no reason why they can’t have plenty of conversations on end-to-end encrypted app lines. The operative date for contracts really is the end of June, and until that date any candidates may well be still officially contracted to other clubs. Marco took a chance leaving Fulham a month ago, before Jose Mourinho officially joined Real Madrid. The Real Madrid President Florentino Pérez had to win the election he called. But Marco obviously expected Perez to win, then Mourinho could leave Benfica for Madrid. Marco felt quite simply that then was the time to jump ship, having run out of negotiating room at Fulham. So I think we can expect Fulham’s next manager to be formally announced in the next day or two.

Labour never could quite understand how business works or how legislation laws and red tape that will bamboozle you until you are dizzy. Burnham will pass the buck onto whoever he thinks will do a job and thats how he will govern. One and a half million council houses built around the country? We know how far that will stretch and besides, that amount of council housing will not solve the problems. Council housing or private renting will not make a difference if one and a half million people and counting are not working. Working people is the real growth. The North and jobs was a natrual decline when the mills closed down and cheaper produce from China and places became the normal way of things. Burnham is acting like an emotional five-year-old who thinks Manchester and North are hard done by the South. There is not enough money in the kitty to fund all of Burnham's projects and sadly it will be the same outcome for Labour when Burnham slinks off into the sunset of 10 Manchester Street after he skints the country and then roll out the men in suits who will take charge once again after everyone clicks on that you need real people with real brains that are educated up to a proper standard of real grades and not the made up fantasy nonsense sold to us by a Labour government that don't have a clue. 1o Downing Street up for rental anyone? Because Andy Burnham won't be living in it, it's too posh for the wee Northern lad. Grow up Andy Burnham and get real!!!!

Their success has nothing to do with him. He has no economic skills and as Owen said, he's ideas are dated. Similar idea to those who thought UK sovereignty would make Britain Great Britain again. I am very concerned he will simply completely suck the south dry to fund the north (and the little prime minister's castle that he is building in Manchester). He will likely to tax houses based on their worth (so no longer about funding for your bins and local amenities) , he will means test Pension, he will tax increase tax on the financial sector (still the notion that they are the money cow for the country) and he will pause all infrastructure investment in the South to fund HS2!! The country seem to one bad decision after another. I am happy to bet after Burnham will not last longer than Arbola.

I’ve really enjoyed it although some games are on so late,so many matches 48 teams in it and it’s going to get bigger in future world cups.Yanks have tried to split it into 4 quarters with this water break hope that doesn’t catch on. As for England can’t see us getting too far slow start but until we come up against a top side we will find out. To too keen on having a foreign manager doesn’t seem right unless we actually win it won’t be convinced.

Personally i think a link would not have made much difference to some who don't even see Arbeloa coming but no doubt we will know more in the coming days. I could have wrote more about the. four exciting youngsters we might be seeing at Fulham and what a midfield bread basket and mouth-watering sensation and explosion of youth we could be seeing in the coming season. Will Smith Rowe be surplus to requirements? Arbeloa i think will give everyone already here a chance and i think this is the hope and opportunity we need and crave for. We just need to here the final Arbeloa appointment officially over the line and all the doubts will vanish away and then we start the new season properly.

I appreciate that it could all go down the drain in a few months time but cannot recall ever awaiting the start of a season with what (if Arbeola does come) will undoubtedly be a revolution at our level. I would like to comment though on the 4 castiilla youngsters mentioned. Knowing how Real Madrid operate, it would be a blessing if we get 2. The amount of first team appearences these 4 have had at their age runs completely against the play of that team. I recall, that it neaded their top 2 goalkers to be injured simultaneously for casillas to debut as 3rd choice at 17/18.

Agree Theo he has to be given a chance. From my point of view without any doubt , for Moyes , Dyche or posteglu. we would just be onother club. for Arbeloa we would be the club where he has to prove himself. Secondly just the thought that he could significantly change our style of play is exciting. Im sorry for those who traditionally prefer going to the cottage hoping we dont lose.

If Arbeloa can instill some of the Real Madrid system into our play, i would love it. I loved Slavisa's style and i hold very fond memories of Fulham and Slavisa gaining promotion but Slavisa could not get us to progress to the next level which was sad and unfortunate. The Khans and reputation will go up big time if project Arbeloa takes off. This is a gamble worth taking and we should all get on board with it. Exciting times.
