If England beat Mexico, I’ll eat my phone. In my opinion there are only a handful of players good enough in Tuchel’s squad to compete at international level and it’s embarrassing that we have to rely on Kayne to dig us out of the smelly stuff. Tonight’s performance in both offensive and defensive parts of the pitch was abysmal and DRC deserved more from the game I felt. Rashford, Meduake, O’Relly, Spence, and Guehi nowhere near it and what on earth is Henderson doing in the squad? As previously indicated, I think this is as far as we can go and we should now start looking for an English manager to take on the national team - it should be the rule that managers of national teams are born in the country in my personal opinion in any case. Rant over!

All the so called top teams have been surprised at how much better the other teams are now they have proper managers who try to get the best out of each player and the team. We did well to beat such a team. Mexico are not in anyway a fancied team but are well managed. They will be about the same standard as Conga so if we can play a bit better we will win. We have a good manager who will make the best of what he has.

To be fair credit to England especially Kane he really stepped up and we didn’t give up Mexico a tough match but momentum is building keep the faith!

A bit harsh MST. While I agree that some of the team were off form, the DR Congo goalkeeper made a string of unbelievable saves, keeping them in it. Indeed, for you oldies, he was giving me Jan Tomaszewski vibes. Happily, Kane is better than Astle was. As for Mexico, watch out for Raul scoring a hattrick just to spite us here at Fulham.

Think we improved massively after the substitution especially Gordon for Rashford but DR Congo played really well and attacked us at every opportunity and There there record in there there last 20 games is impressive

TTIN what are you on about, “Mexico are the same level as Congo”?? They haven’t conceded a goal yet! They are way above the level of Congo and they are playing at home with a whole country behind them. England have been woeful considering our international ranking and Tuchel’s squad and team choices, in my opinion, are to blame.

Magicman, Congo are rated 41st in the world and have beaten the likes of Botswana, Benin, Zambia, Sudan, Togo, etc. England, in my opinion, should not have struggled to beat this team for 86 minutes. We were poor and the joy of winning cannot hide that for me. Field the same team, tactics and form against Mexico and we will lose badly in my opinion but let’s see, maybe I’m over reacting?

Without doubt Mexico will be favourites , at home and altitude will make it harder for England as no time to aclinatise but DR Congo played well and attacked us every opportunity and we were the first team to score more than one goal against them in there last 20 odd games so they were no mugs

Could have had a a tougher game than Mexico can beat them but this woeful team won’t go any further there at least 5. Players not up to it in this squad and thats being charitable

This squad is slow ,boring devoid of any ideas when trying to break a tough defence, Pickford look a nightmare when the ball is back with him , and it spends half the bleedin game in is half. short passes that end up back in there own half, cannot be bothered to attempt a long shot, lets get it almost on the line !!! really and so we all go here we go again ,than christ for kane , he dont do much for ages but then he creates from nothing but no one else seems capable of any assistants jude red card in waiting.

The average English football supporter has nothing in common with the international players. I’d certainly never pay to watch a game.
