Experience counts for a lot Bish. Been there seen it done it, but nobody listens. Things are not looking good I’m afraid. Stuff the fact it’s only 9 games we’ve only got 8points from a possible 27. On this form we’ll be lucky to get 40 points. Hope something happens soon. Now losing faith in Silva.

Mortlake, I am surprised at you whom I believe are an ardent fan yet you join that sad bishop who moans continually and never has a good word to say about our club. I actually suspect he is a Brentford supporter. Yes we have had a poor start but I remain confident we will improve and not be in the relegation zone.

At least it's going to make this season much more exiting, and we now have something to fight for, instead of a mediocre mid table doing nothing season. We have all heard that quote of "we are too good to go down" and believe me we ARE TOO GOOD.

Let me assure you he is not. We went to the same school, along with the likes of George Cohen after the war , in Fulham, 400 yards from the ground and have been solid, hell and high water supporters of Fulham for 70 years. We both have very close personal connections with club for a total of 140 years between us. So I promise we can bring much more to the comments than many many others based up an enormous fund of knowledge. If Bish thinks it, it’s valid and dissenters should reappraise their assessments and critique. Everyone is entitled to their view Bishop’s is more valid than yours. Please resist the temptation to criticise someone who had masses more experience than you supporting Fulham. And I prefer not to be patronised.

Mortlake, I was not being patronising, actually I was complimenting your staunch support of the team whereas all we hear from Arch bishop is moan, moan8 and more moan. Read his last 10posts if you don’t believe me and, for your information I first went to Fulham at the start of the 1939/40 season.

Mortlake, I also believe there are other posters of my era so I can assure you we are just as knowledgeable on Fulham as you and bishop.

I’m sure there are, as I’ve said I believe everyone is entitled to their opinion, that is the purpose of the site. It is not for people to criticise others views but merely to put forward their own. Others have taken Bish to task and like you have resorted to inappropriate comments such as, you must be a Brentford supporter,or if you don’t like it support another club. These types of comment are childish in the extreme and people should know better. Based on your claim your first season watching Fulham was 39/40 I estimate your age to be somewhere between 90 & 100years. I applaud your lucidity but suggest with great age should come wisdom. Patronising? Possibly, but I can’t be bothered to argue semantics with you. I agree basically with Bish albeit I’m not in the habit of repeating it every week. I know your views and respect them. I think that’s least we can all do. Nice chatting to you.

Mortlake, first let me apologise to you and bishop as I try not to offend anyone. I have always commented on your excellent posts in the past and no doubt this will continue. If I have inadvertently upset bishop it was purely based on what I considered to be prolong negativity. In future I will take on board what you have said and be more careful as we all support our team. In turn I ask that bishop tries to be more positive as we all know we have not had much to cheer about so far. The Brentford jibe was uncalled for and I apologise. Please Arch bishop refrain from taking the Lord’s name in vain as it offends me and probably others. Once again please accept any comments which were probably should not have been made. Mortlake you have my age range correct.

I did not think Marco had any problems with managing the Club but having so many of his best players injured or unfit is beating him like it would beat most managers. It will get better as the better players get fit again.

Your gracious apology is willing accepted, thank you. I trust that my responses were within the bounds of reason, as I, like you, would not wish to cause unnecessary offence. Intentional offence yes, but unintentional never:) Bish is a curmudgeonly old git, as am I, annd oft expressed grievances are borne of a genuine long standing and enduring love for the club. We were both born within spitting distance of the club and aren’t just fans we are born and breed Fulhamites, frustrations might be heightened by that association. My school lunchtime breaks were regularly spent down at the Cottage talking to the players of the day and regularly chatting with good old Tommy Trinder in whose big blue Bentley we would luxuriate whilst he regaled us with many an amusing story, when he had the time of course. Other times just a wave of acknowledgment. A great guy , as were most of the players who we’d watch train, which seemed to involve running up and down the terrace a lot. Then they’d be off down the Crabtree for a few recuperative pints and the odd fag. I tell you this rubbish so that you’ll appreciate our dissatisfaction and frustration when we see things going tits up, as we believe things currently are. Being called anything other than a Fulham fan hurts.Anyway fingers crossed and onwards, and hopefully, upwards.
