Now its almost certain we can prepare for playoffs. Barring Derby beating everyone at the top out of sight and us losing every game. We need the best players available and ready for the challenges in August. Does anyone anywhere know what is the state of play with Kamara. Kongolo. Mawson. Not saying they would be our saviours just more options!
Replies
Read somewhere that Kongolo and Kamara are Covid victims but culd be speculation as it was on New Now sometime ago...

Sounds like speculation. At least with kamara as he was at the stadium v Brentford. If it was covid he would be nowhere near the club.

We dropped another place. Derby and Cardiff are in good form. Brentford are running away but West Brom and Leeds are stuttering. Crazy league! If we win all our remaining games, I think still have a chance of automatic promotion but if we lose 4 more we will be caught!!
Replies
With WBA winning tonight, that surely puts paid to any fancy ideas that both us and Brentford had of maybe still having a shot at automatic promotion, so we now look destined to meet Brentford in the play final at Wembley, and that's not a given for either of us, but we just cant allow our poor relations down the road to beat us three times in a season.

John for 55 odd years as a FFC fan Iv'e been looking over my shoulder & this season is no different. We have a captain with no bottle, a manager with no clue, and owners dim but nice(football) as Harry Enfield would say. I backed FFC for auto promotion pre covid, will I ever learn, Doubt it.

More worried about derby county at the moment but they do have to play Brentford, Leeds, West Brom, Cardiff and forest so plenty of potential favours. Just wouldn’t want to face them in the playoffs, they are timing their run perfectly

Almost everyone agrees that our performance was abysmal. I can only assume that our defence were not ready for the ko and therefore, the referee should have disallowed QPR's goal as it was unsporting to score after 1 minute when our lads had not finished discussing what they did over the weekend. Once again our team selection was strange and even with nine subs there is no room for our promising youngsters. The team have obviously still in lockdown and QPR could and should have won as they had at least two gilt edged chances to score. What is Parker's problem? He cannot communicate, has lost respect and looks and sounds like a broken man. I believe I was one of the first to criticise his appointment and stated he should learn his trade in non league football. If Khan retain Parker as manager then I fear the players will just continue to turn up, under perform and continue with the present could not care less attitude. Can anyone tell me what has happened to Kamara? Is he injured or just out of favour. I not that we have signed a 17 year old left back from PSG on a freebie but he is unlikely to get a game at Fulham. Take care everyone.

My guess concerning Parker is that he is stuck in coming up with a credible excuse the 3rd time of asking. Brentford report was a straight-forward one, in that you compliment your opponent and give them the maximum respect. Scott Parker was over the top with compliments like he always is, in my opinion. Leeds is a different beast because he knows they are top and he goes along with his before match details as you do. QPR, what can you really say that will instill confidence to our team and to himself? The only thing Parker can hit back with, is about the playoffs, and if he was a touch cheeky, he might have explained that the playoffs was the plan all along? Because of his inexperience and nievity, Parker is getting himself into a tongue twist and no doubt the players are picking up his nervousness. The Khans can put him out of his misery for me because we are doomed to fail with Parker now. That nervousness and team selections that make no sense will ensure we fail in the playoffs. It is high time the Khans do the right thing, and that is to bring the axe down on the rein of Scott Parker...

Announced this afternoon from Fulham's training ground at MP is that within the next week fulham on managerial advice will be signing Knockaert for a fee of 10m.The fulham manager stated that he is part of our future plans and at this given price is a good value acquisition. If the owners sanction this they need to be brain tested.

Your so right dear boy, but deep down you and the rest of us who are crying out for change know that banging your head against a brick wall would be a doddle compared with seeing our beloved club given a huge shot in the arm in the shape of a new face at the helm. You and many others have longed for the owner to relieve SP of his duties. Nothing against him and recognise how good a player he was but management is an entirely different matter.

Agree its why all our best youth cant stay.. If you pay a player 30-30k a week (Knockaert is on £45k at brighton so we must be near)plus 10m..and we offer Matt and others a few k and no hope of game time..until we change the fundamentals in this club..ie lets not try and be Man City but be sustainable.. we will continue on this cylcle.. Tony Kahn is like Trump in that he's incompetenet but has a doting father who gives hi what he wants..its not theat either dont care..bit that the sone is useless..we have a CEO who fawns over them so he can take his 800k a year and we let pros like Mike Rigg go..because we create a pr hate campaign against them..We well may go up because its such a crap league this year but when you beat out the qualities of TC and others to suit a U18 manager and his assistant t will always be the same..stop throwing money away and build a DNA that works..

O.K. we won at Loftus Road but that was overshadowed by allowing them to score in the opening minute. I hope you lot also noticed that last night lowly Luton not only held mighty Leeds United to a 1 -1 draw but led the most of the match! Why could we not do better than Luton against Leeds? I agree that some of these loan signing, just like last season are not putting the effort in, because they are now awaiting offers from clubs to where they will play next season, hopefully not at Craven Cottage. Mitrovic is thick, getting banned just when we needed our leader. What about getting Sean Dyche in, that would shake this lot up but he only played and has managed in the North of England.

I am surprised there has been so few comments on how poorly these two have been playing and yes I am aware Arter scored last night as well as making three or four wayward passes. Brian and Ream against Leeds were terrible Harrison the Leeds winger ran from his own half and into our area before scoring and no attempt at a tackle. Ream fell over in our area the ball went behind him and the Leeds player scored and last night he never got of the ground for there first goal. Harry Arter is a disaster waiting to happen and his goal does not change that would he get a place in the team if he was not Parkers brother in law?

Yes I agree Ream is nowhere as good as he was a couple of seasons ago, like all of us, time has caught up with him. He has become slow and hesitant unfortunately. As for Arter, I am not an admirer but I do like his passion on the pitch.

The solidarity of two years ago is nonexistent. Did this win galvanize the team? No way. It’s a joyless brand of football, no risk-taking. Parker has marginalized the core, as Ranieri did. Every manager feels the need to improve on Slav, as did the genius who signed Seri. We have 2-4 more winnable matches, then we need a miracle.

Captain Cairney, his reaction to the QPR goal was appalling, it’s the start of the game, adrenaline should be pumping, nothing!!! Just turn away, head down, not even a boxxxcking to his defenders, he’s not captain material,I know we’re still in a good position, but they look as though they’re just going through the motions!!!!

Yes agree. I don’t know how we can get out of this other than a very honest team discussion. My biggest concern even came after we scored where there seemed to be very little celebration and a lack of spirit. I think the manager needs to give the players more freedom....they seem very hamstrung.

Drago is so right , the team under Slav had a real togetherness , as a fan you could feel the camaraderie in the side . Now not one of the players seems to give a damn whether we win or lose . When we concede the players just shrug and walk back to the centre circle like it doesn’t matter to them Our Captain seems to be the worst culprit . It is noticeable that Harrison Reed is the only player that seems to care and he sticks out from the rest of the squad because of it . One can only presume this lethargy comes from the top down .
posted by Alan (Guest) - Wednesday 01st July 2020, 9:24 AM

“Lethargy from the top down” as you say Alan. For me at least, “the top” starts with the owners and board members. Player recruitment has been dreadful, square pegs & round holes, can’t all be down to Scottie.

Maybe it’s just my memory playing tricks ....but ...I agree the promotion season under Slav was amazing ,even though I seem to remember rumblings on here ....just before Christmas of that season ....like Slav had no plan B .....BUT once we got promoted ...certainly in the Johnny Haynes stand and on here there where calls for removing Slav ,that he was one dimensional, that the team didn’t look together that there was no plan B ...So be careful what you wish for ...the last three games have been tough ,some of the players don’t seem to be up to speed ...but we are in the play offs ,no club is going to sack the manger now I can’t believe people are even suggesting that ..and bring back Slav campaign ,what are you on !……

Ten points clear of 7th, we’ll fumble and stumble our way into the play offs. But, yeah, players morale seems very low. Scottie cuts a forlorn figure, TC can gel his hair but not the team he purportedly “leads.” Certainly don’t get the lack of buzz on the pitch - you’d think the chance of 1er football would be a big, big carrot...
posted by Simon (Guest) - Wednesday 01st July 2020, 11:46 AM

Think your recall is absolutely spot on Markrightback. I’m afraid we’re all guilty of shortermism, but in truth we have traditionally played with a complete lack of passion. Previously we put it down to too many loanees, last year the problem was too many mercenaries. The fundamental problem, whatever the cause, seems to be an inherent lack of ability to raise our game when we need to. The lack of urgency seems to have permeated team after team down the years, and I really am talking years. Oh, for some of that Anfield spirit. Could it be us, the fans, we are traditionally quite polite and, as we all know it’s rude to shout. Hahaha. All I’m saying is that the current malaise is not something new. By the way it does not help having Cairney as a captain, has a problem motivating himself most weeks. Need a Harrison Reed type, more in the mould of Emlyn Hughes, Gerrard, Bremner, players who want to win every match because it matters to them. I for one am fed up playing catch every week, win, lose or draw.
posted by Realistic (Guest) - Wednesday 01st July 2020, 1:00 PM

Markrightback. Sensible post. However I would say that Slav might not have lost the players, if we hadn't bought the mercenaries. Would love to have seen what slav could have done with a full year and the promotion team. I reckon we would have stayed up.

Markrightback, not sure what plan B Slavisa could have come up with, with the likes of Seri on our books. I don't think that Seri is a Slavisa type of player, along with Marchand etc... Sean Dyche is mentioned a few times, but also again he was relegated with Burnley, and Eddie Howe. The difference is that they got 2nd chances by shrewd directors who worked out that their teams would be better of keeping the manager. These sort of close season decisions help to stabilize clubs. To my way of thinking, if we interview Dyche, Howe, and lastly Slavisa, which two from the 3 would you side with for the job at Fulham? Howe and Dyche would win hands down simply because they are masters in describing why a team won or lost. Slavisa cannot put himself over in a basic interview with Sky. It is my guess that he didn't put a strong case why he should be the one to take Fulham forward in the future. This is pure conjecture and guesswork by me. It would have been a different story in history if those two were sacked for getting relegated first time, just saying...
posted by OWEN (Guest) - Wednesday 01st July 2020, 6:29 PM

Owen, the difference is that Slav was handed over paid mercineries who disrupted the balance and moral of the machine he had painstakingly moulded and fine tuned for success. Players he didn’t ask for and was, likely, forced to play. Imagine being stef jo and seeing seri walk straight into the starting 11. Or being betinelli, and suddenly being 3rd choice. The fact is, had Slav been given the chance with the promotion squad and given a say on who to strengthen it with, it would have been a different story. Mitro, the signing of the new era, was a Slav find - shows how little the khans know. He had just gone 23 games without losing, and given a team of individuals, no wonder things didn’t click.
posted by O David (Guest) - Wednesday 01st July 2020, 7:04 PM

The best player Slav was given was Callum Chambers, a mediocre defender that Slav turned into a solid Sidwell-tape. Anguissa wasn’t fit or prepared, but we’ll make a big profit. Beyond that, I’d take Freddo, Targett, Kalas, Piazon and Norwood over LeMarchand, Fabri, Seri, Mawson, and Schurrle. When you think of the money wasted, it’s staggering. Relegation was Tony Khan’s fault, Slav the scapegoat. He needed a whole season and better players.

We won yes, but played better, no. Parker's tactics are stiffling the talent we have in our squad and did you see him at the end? certainly didn't have the demeanour of a guy whose team had just won. I honestly think he's lost the dressing room as the team spirit seems negligible at present, how many players actually celebrated with Arter when he scored? We have problems and I believe they're of our own making

Until we change the whole club will be like this for years and years.. I have watched the team from afar and locally for 40 years and never felt so unconnected..good luck Luca Matt and all the rest of the great talent we have let go..what a waste

Steven. As you say we are in a strong position in the league and will surely make the play -offs.It doesn't alter he fact the ' style ' of play we are now seeing is light years away from way we used to play It gives me no pleasure to say that Brentford seem to possess everything needed to go up , they look a real team, fighting for every ball and enjoying the occasion. Our lot look as though they would prefer to be elsewhere. How good could we be with a different approach to the game I've no idea and sadly the way the club is being handled by those in charge we will never know. I truly dread the thought that we we get promoted with the set up we have at the moment.

Yes I’ve been a season ticket holder for decades, so many boring seasons where we weren’t any where near the money end as the season came to an end. Every season can’t be a really attractive style, I’m happy just to see us succeed and I enjoy the ride. Hodgsons teams were boring to watch but some of my favourite seasons. I’m certainly not gonna complain if we go up that our team will go straight down before the next season has started. If we go up it’ll be magic and I’ll be right behind the team next season and if we do go back down we’ll still have an extra 3 seasons of parachute payments to try to get back.

And so continues the cycle of having a pop at £250m every other season. IF we win playoffs this season, that’s a nice half billion return on their investment over 5 years. Business men not football fans.

The khans have got lots wrong but I do think they have done so much good and will keep trying to improve us. Last time we went up on the last season of parachute payments and had to prepare for a huge income drop if we didn’t go up that’s why when we did, we had so few contacted players and had to buy so many. They seem to be prepared for this having bought Reid, cav and hector. We still have mitro from last time so if we do go up we should be able just add 4 or 5 players that upgrade our weakest positions.

I thought we looked better considering no ak or mitro we did well. I didn’t mind parking the bus at the end, I think it would been more stressful if we’d kept attacking for the last 6 mins leaving gaps. I thought Sess was used well as a defensive forward with everyone else sitting back he was pressing everywhere and stopped them pumping balls in as they had the previous ten mins. It’s the championship anything is possible and we’ve stopped the rot so onwards and upwards. Parker was the wrong choice for the season but it’ll be mad to change it now.

I was just about to post the same thing. Despite the equaliser, this is amonst the worst 15 minutes of Fulham FC I have seen at this level. Ream and Odoi are both gone, surely. Knockaert doesn't particularly contribute in any way. Reid seems energetic, but that's about it. Reed seems to be the most competitive, so he's a yellow card waiting to happen knowing our luck! I can't understand why Stefan isn't in the team. He's such an important counter-attacking player.

We won't even make the playoffs JRD, players are now void of confidence. This game is the perfect game to see if Parker has other things besides cotton in between his ears. Let's see if a master tactician can utilize Cavaleiro, Knockheart, who are strikers but have 'er forgotten that they are strikers because Parker has robotized them into penelope puppets if that is the word i am looking for. This charade is gone past embarrassing now, i hope the Khans can see this and change it now...

Well to be fair Woy robotised the team. It was called organisation and meant that every player knew where they should be and where the rest of the team were at any given time in the match and worked a treat. I'd suggest Parker has Zombitised the team.....

Just listened to the Parker prematch interview ....he looks a broken man.....body language is awful.....hope he is not like that with the players. Without Mitro tomorrow should be turned into a positive...he has been hopeless the last two games and we did ok when he was injured earlier in the season ...Parker should be far more upbeat in his persona the whole club needs an uplift for this important run in to the season. And, I don’t buy into this we shouldn’t get promoted this season because it’s too early.....we are not good enough to be choosy so give it everything now.

I don't doubt scotty's sincerity And it will be sad to see him lose his job. However he is not bigger than the club. I am sure he will grow into a successful coach in the future, but he needs to start with a non league or lower division club, then graduate to where he is now operating so poorly. Practice somewhere else please Scotty. It hurts to admit this, but management is daily proving Mark Hughes right when he said Fulham lacked ambition.

I hope you don’t mind me posting on the FFC forum but you really battered us for 30mins of the game on Saturday. No team has managed to reduce us to 36% possession in the first half so there are some real positives. That ginger fella in the centre of midfield ran the show. I still think you’re better equipped then both Brentford and WBA to go up but the Mitrovic ban hasn’t helped. Somebody will step up if you keep creating chances. This isn’t me gloating but we have one of the best managers in the game with a relatively average playing squad. He schooled Parker in tactics when he knew it wasn’t working out. You won’t experience that again this season so I expect you to consolidate in the play offs. Keep the faith and good luck with the rest of the season.

I think Christie is ahead of the queue. We can’t defend because we don’t have a natural right back or left back and one of our centre back is too too slow. We’ve had this problem since 3-4 years ago and we have no clue on how to fix it!!

Who would you like to replace Scott Parker ? He Must go. I don’t want to go up with him as Manager. We would set a new record :the first team ever to lose every single match.

Sorry,English not my native language. I wrote a letter to Tony Kahn about Vladimir Ivic, young couch from Serbia, who is heading with Slavisa's footsteps.Three year in coaching and already three trophies (domestic cup with Paok and two titles with Maccabi Tel Aviv.) Free agent in summer looking for coaching in the Europe-now is the time for someone to take him.

Interesting idea re Ivic. However, I feel it would be too much of a gamble to hire someone with no experience in English football. Especially after taking a risk on Parker. For me it has to be a safe appointment, someone like houghton.

If we beat QPR, Birmingham and Wigan it will all but assure our playoff spot. The important thing now is to finish 4th or 5th. Don’t want to play Brentford over two legs, rather see them at Wembley. We need Abou Kamara back ASAP. Teams are now double and triple teaming Mitro. Cav, Knockaert and Reid don’t scare anyone. Also, it’s time for StefJo to return. He is a spark plug and has more creativity going forward than Arter or Harrison Reid. Might also need Odoi to move to the left side and bring back Cyrus after Joe Bryan’s awful Leeds display.

Look on the bright side No expense of travelling to games no expense for admission. Khan has to pay the wages of players and staff and upkeep of the ground. It has cost him a fortune in bad buys and the cost of not going up goes into the millions. The Khans have been a disaster since they took over American Football, Car Parts and Wrestling are not the same as English Football. You have to understand the game and how it works. You cannot just look at stats, you have to have players and a coaching team that are able to adjust to the league and the opposition that they are facing. Jol, Meulenteen, Magath, Symons, Jokanavic, Ranieri and now Parker. How many of these managers are working in English football now. Most people in life learn from their mistakes Khan just keeps repeating his.

I have never seen this universal condemnation, completely justified I may add, of the manager, coaches and players since Parker was appointed. I wonder if he or the Khans ever venture onto this site or, are they completely oblivious to the feelings of genuine fans. I do not suppose there in anyway we can make an official protest about the nievity of Parker's tactics, the underperformance of the squad and the inept team selection week after week. Perhaps MST or BAZ could enlighten us, or am I and all the other posters just wasting our time pointing out the underlying problems and the fact that Parker has lost the support of the dressing room?

Reid' fox in the box? He had a gilt-edged chance, tried to turn, and got blew over by a gust of wind. Sure sums up our afternoon!!!

Following my previous post, the coach informs us that automatic promotion will be difficult now, think this is fake news, what he did say was a play off place will be difficult now. While the rest of us struggle during this crisis, with families, jobs and current protests, FFC meander on. Players and staff tested and secure with best medical treatment. Has anyone told them that the championship has restarted and that we will not be finishing third and the season is over. The lack of professionalism is apparent from top to bottom I call it the big O. Out thought tactically Out run physically Outrageous team management Outrageous substitutions Outrageous coaching Outrageous in play management. The mentality from top to bottom of this club has to change if we are to succeed. Removing the coach will not be enough.

Should we really have been surprised that we lost yesterday ?. After being second best to Brentford last week there was nothing to suggest that we would somehow raise our game to compete with Leeds. We seem to be unable impose ourselves on sides these days, failing to score in what were two very important games, and at this rate will soon start to drop out of contention for a play off place. At the end of the day Mr Khan will have to decide wether the present situation is acceptable or not. It does seem a pity that a good squad of players can't or won't produce the sort of football needed to get us back to the Premier league.

We have not lost anything on WBA yet so it is not hopeless if we are not hopeless, which seems to be the problem. Post suspension blues seems to be affecting us. A team of players with the determination and fitness of Harrison Read would do it but this feeble bunch we have seen so far lacking everything needed and have to get real quickly as we are in danger of falling out of the playoffs.

I was referring to the Owner and his son, no need to insult them. He has spent a lot of money bringing our ground up to date, lets just see how things work out regarding the manager
