No pressure on either side but really enjoyable match between Newcastle and Man City last night. Dare I suggest we at least try to give us long suffering fans a glimpse on what we are capable of doing and a goal or two would be most welcome!!

May be we will be looking at another shut down ?. Boris has got it wrong again. Why announce on a Monday about the Indian bug but why wait till the following Friday to shut the barn doors late again .Dont forget if it happens again. No going to football pubs and seeing families etc. The bloke is a first class clown.
Why lift people’s hopes up again before quashing them a few days later. Is it for his own ego because it does nothing for the rest of us. Yet still he rides high in the polls

Of course Boris is responsible for everything is he then, what a load of idiots you really are. He has done wonders with the vaccines and the economy, but no doubt you lot would rather have had Corbyn running the country, in which case we would probably be still waiting for any vaccines at all. Thank your lucky stars that we have Boris at the top, and be grateful for it.

Before the season started I said I couldn't see more than three other Premiership teams that Fulham could beat. I wasn't far wrong. What is quite clear is that we only have two or three players who'd be confident of finding a place in another Premiership team, and an inexperienced manager who didn't really know what he was doing, or what his best team was. We were simply not good enough. The urgent need is to find an experienced manager who knows how to get the best out of a team in the Premiership, and then let him manage. There are several available to choose from. If we go on as we are we'll even struggle in the Championship.
Nearly all our team will be in the Premier league next season. West ham alone are rumored to want 3 of our players. Spurs and Arsenal and Leicster and Everton and United all want our players. Palace need to recruit. The three promoted teams. All will pick us dry. We will see then what a failure this has been, club relegated but not the players. And guess what? Parker gets another go next season.

Despite apparently falling out with the Khans, according to this mornings press, Scott will be allowed to carry on next season, to try for a quick return to the Premier League. If that news is not bad enough, Tony Khan says that he will be carrying on as DOF. Not a lot to look forward to next season then.

Southampton has nothing to play for now. We have plenty of players who, if chosen, will play hard and really want to play well. Let’s see Fabio Carvalho and Sylvester Jasper on the wings, Stansfield as a #10 behind Mitro. Let’s see Reed and Onomah in midfield, Bryan and Odoi at LB and RB. Some senior players will have a chip on their shoulder, which is good. But mainly, I hope SP starts a few of our young players, who will give everything. Lookman, Cav, Bobby Reid, RLC all had their chance and failed.
Drago, I agree entirely with you comments but there is no chance that Parker will change his tactics. Reading his comments on the home page demonstrates he lives in cloud cuckoo land and there is no chance that he will blood any of our youngster. The man is a "busted flush" and suffers from delusions of grandeur if he believes he is in great demand. If he believes Spurs are interested in him then let him resign and put himself to the test. Inexperience, incompetent, inflexible and lacks vision and will not change. I suspect we will struggle to make the play offs as his predictability has been well and truly sussed out by most teams now. Too manyFancy Dans without any clout. The

Geezer, You must be the most miserable person on the planet. If they win today the U18s will win their league. None of them will want to miss out on what they have spent all season working hard to achieve, and it would be counterproductive to make them do so. And Steve Wigley will definitely want to put out his strongest team for this match, which is important for the young players and the club. There is plenty of time to bring them into the first team fold.

Although a season ticket holder over quite a few seasons I will not under any circumstances, although much against the grain, attend our last home match of the season. If we were finishing in a blaze of glory, I might think about it, but a game that will be almost a wake, and a pre-season friendly, so why should I waste £40 on sitting and watching, what will be a completely dispirited team, and also no doubt Newcastle will send us down with yet another defeat. What I am dreading more than anything, is that those attending, clap the team off at the end of the match, as that would be highly embarrassing. I am also chewing over whether or not to re-new my ST next season, as I feel that even at this stage, it will be a very disappointing one.

In your opinion then, that means that they are not real supporters. I disagree with you, as most of us, have had enough of watching a load of rubbish on TV, and nobody could be a more fanatical Fulham supporter than me, but I will not be going to,the last game, come what may. As for a season ticket next season, let's just wait and see, as things will have to change considerably for a lot of us to rush in with their hard earned cash.

I don’t think anyone saying Harry is not hurt. But we seem to lose sight of relative pain! Can I compare me being deprived of eating a nice food in a 5 star restaurant to some poor family in the third world cannot afford to put half a meal on the dinner table. They could well be equally painful because the poor family never known anything better. But we are losing sight of relativity. You remember the ‘me too’ movement? It was a good movement until loads of people complaining of the most trivial issues they encountered. Hence The movement is losing momentum. If Harry continues opening feeling sorry for himself, there is a danger he will damage the mental health awareness movement.

So we're down again. Surely there must be someone in the club able to see where we are going wrong each time? How come Leeds United were able to play in the Prem this season, and look like a premiership club straight away. What's their secret? Better ownership, better manager? We are a decent club, with a decent ground and with the advantage of playing in London. We should be able to attract decent players, so what's happening? If you want to play with the 'big boys', you have to have good players managed by experienced bosses. If you can't be bothered to invest in either, then you end up where we are!!

Now that our fate has been decided Parker has the chance to pick a team without any pressure on him. He has a clean sheet. If any of the Loan players want to stay and we want them- play them. Parker has a great chance to showcase what he has been building in our young players since he arrived. He should not play any player that he wants to get rid of or have not been good enough or have shown the desire to win and work hard. The scouts should be looking now and approaching clubs for players to sign them as soon as possible and not wait till the last few hours of the transfer window as usual. NOW is the time to invest and start building a permanent team to win promotion next season and not wait for the season to start and panic buy.
Fulham boy, if only what makes sense to you and me, made sense to Scott Parker as well, but reading between the lines in his post match interview, he almost indicated that he was going to play his strongest team, as they are paid professionals, who's wages are paid by Fulham, and they therefore should have work hard for a win. What utter nonsense in my book, as those that have now decided to leave, couldn't care a monkeys cuss whether we win or not, and therefore should not be able to put on a Fulham shirt again. During the same interview Scott seemed to talk with a forked tongue, as when asked about him leaving to join Spurs, or any other club, he said we just have to wait and see, or words to that effect, but then went on to talk about planning for next season. Does he really know what he is going to do next season ?

The writing was on the wall after the first game of the season when we rolled over to Arsenal who at that stage were a very poor team. How we beat Liverpool and Everton I dont know. What a blessing nobody had to pay to watch this rubbish of a team. Players with no passion for the club whatsoever.I had a lot of time for Scott Parker but it might be time to replace him. Lets not get too technical the real culprits here are the players and i would be delighted if they all went. Fulham must stop giving certain players silly clauses in their contracts, this is not helpful and is not what a contract should be. Never mind Brentford, good luck to them, they have not stopped Fulham winning this season so whats all the stupid crap I see on here.
We are going to have to buy a team from the best performers in the Championship. Building around Rodak. Reed. Bryan. maybe Mitro? Cairney?

For me the season has been over for some time and Monday night was just confirmation of what many of us expected last September.

I will keep an eye on the last three games this season but I doubt I'll watch another 3-0 drubbing by Newcastle in the last game of the season.

I am actually really looking forward to next season as there is plenty to be positive about. We can get back in the ground and I can sit in the seat I've sat in since it was installed, reunite with old friends around me that I've only kept in touch with over e-mail for a year and breath in the air again walking from where I park in Hammersmith walking to the ground filled with childish expectation and enthusiasm.

I know some doom mongers on this board think that the team will break up and certain players will leave but even when the loan players go home we still have a very good core of a squad (without our own players out on loan) that can adequately complete in the Championship and with a few additions, we will be a (FUL)force to be reckoned with.

We may not win the thing outright but I will go to every game home and away, if situations allow, knowing that we have a chance of winning every game in which we play and I feel sure that whatever happens, we will win more than we lose and we will draw and maybe lose a few we should win but I will enjoy it a lot more than I have this season regardless of the doom sayers on this board that will inevitably come out when we draw at home to Lincoln in the first game of the season.

We WILL finish top six as a minimum and no one can convince me otherwise until it is mathematically impossible.

There is on thing I can guarantee for next season - if Sheffield United appoint Slavisa Jokanovic as their head coach, they will take 6 points from their two games against us. Apart from Roy, he was, in my opinion, our next best coach.
You never know they was as bad AS us this year

Slav was an excellent manager who didn’t have the players to compete. Christie, Ream and Odoi in defense … of course we got relegated. Our best defender Fredricks left. Plus some awful signings like Seri, MLM, etc. Would have been interesting to see him with better defense like this team. We would have scored more goals, used Mitro better, gotten more players in better positions. Played more like Leeds. Better football.

Can you possibly blame Mitrovic the way he's been treated this season? He is the ONLY recognised goalscorer in the squad and he's spent more time as a sub than a starter. When he goes to play for his Country,he is so proud and so wanted that he produces his best. Jokanovic knew how to treat him, when Mitro had his problems with Covid etc earlier this season Jokanovic would have picked him up. I feel Parker left him to stew on his own. Without him we have got 9 goals at home this season. In short Scott has to go and Tony Khan must drastically change his recruitment policy. We have been relegated again and the majority of the team can walk away and not feel the pain. If, as has been mentioned, Seri and Anguissa have contracts to only play in the Premier division then it's disgusting as it means they to can walk away with the loaners. Pockets bulging

It looks like we'll basically have the squad back together that got us promoted BUT knowing that they're not first choices, where will their motivation come from? It won't be from Parker or young Khan, that's for sure. Perhaps Wigley should be promoted and allowed to bring the kids through. One things for sure they'll be far more motivated than the mercenaries that Khan Jnr invites in at the start of every campaign.

I think Parker could develop into a decent manager. I am still 50/50 with him. But he probably has to go. I'd keep him if we start from ground zero and refresh the entire squad (with decent players and not kids people here are suggesting). But that's not really realistic. As mentioned above, what is the motivation for the players like Odoi, Hector, Mitro, Bryan, Christie, Knockhart, Rodak, Sess, Kamara and Ream to work their socks off again to get a promotion? Yes, the money is good (with promotion) but these guys want to play football, stability and a sense of loyalty. Parker had to do what he had to do (e.g. demoting all these players) to give Fulham a chance but unfortunately, it hasn't paid off. Now he has left with a bunch of decent players who probably no longer have the trust or loyalty to him. So unless we can bring in 10 quality players, Parker has to go to give these players are refreshed start.

None of us actually know what is going on day to day at the club. Parker has been around football long enough and he has fallen out with Mitrovic for a reason.

Never been a advocate of not playing mitro and there’s not much evidence of his replacements and style of play paying of by his replacements
posted by Len (Guest) - Thursday 13th May 2021, 12:16 PM
It does not take much working out, as you could see it with you own eyes, Mitro was far from fit at the start of the season and did not seem to rush to correct that problem, he then got covid probably through his carelessness. He struggled to recover from the effects of Covid and only looked near fitness a month ago. Parker was fully justified in being angry with Mitro and by the time the striker was fit we were playing a system that excluded a striker. I think Parker has kept all these personal problems, quite rightly, out of the public gaze so some people jump to the wrong conclusions. I also suspect Mitro is depressed by his failings. I also think Scott has told him if you want to stay you need to turn yourself into an attacking midfielder.
posted by The Time Is Now - Thursday 13th May 2021, 1:12 PM
It's crazy to say strikers are an unnecessary luxury when we have a squad of midfielders who don't know where the goal is. 9 goals at home all season, I haven't checked but I suspect that's our worst return since my first visit to The Cottage which was 1962.

Mitro - turn himself into “an attacking midfielder”. Are you serious? I’ve heard everything now. Stick him up top and let him score - as he usually does.
posted by Morph (Guest) - Thursday 13th May 2021, 2:56 PM
Mitro is head and shoulders above Cav and RLC, biggest mistake SP made was benching him. Lookman missed a pen, he kept playing. But not Mitro. If Mitro moves on, there is no way we go get promoted. 26 goal scorers don’t grow on trees. The real failure was tactical, our attack should have been designed around Mitro. Dyche would have done it, look at how Chris Wood has thrived. Is Wood better than Mitro?!?! Burnley plays with a true #9 and #10, like Roy used to, Zamora & Gera. That’s what Parker should have done.
posted by Drago (Guest) - Thursday 13th May 2021, 5:33 PM
Scoring five goals in three games for Serbia in the last international break, confirms that if Mitro gets the right service he will score. Unfortunately that hasn't happened this season with Fulham.

Manchester football team wins Premiership title for the third time in four years! A team which has only three English players and a fourth if you count being born in Jamaica and playing for the English national side as English. A team with fantastically tallented players probaby no one had heard of before the signs multi-million pound contracts ahead of joining the foreign legion in Manchester, assembled at apparently £1 billion pounds, but breaking no fair play rules in the process. Tony Book and Colin Bell this is not Know what we were dealing with and get used to it. Our Premiership (old First Division) is now a competition of the has and have nots. Have multi-billion owners prepared to throw a billion on the table to win at all costs. It all started with Jack Taylor when he bought the title for Blackburn Rovers. Now see where this has got football in this country - every year it will be a four horse race. The rest will be fighting merely to stay up!

We will probably lose silly games at home to the likes of Lincoln city. We will see Brentford laughing at us. It will be exactly the same as the last time we were there? What premier league? Reports Everton and Arsenal want to sign him I hope its true but I would speculate it is mischief from his agent . He can dribble yes but there is no end result , cant kick a ball to save his life and can't score he has been one of the worst investments of any team in the PL together with Kamara Seri Le Marchant they are collectively the reason FFC have been relegated twice ! I hope Mitro stays because he is a Championship player no where near good enough for the Premiership . SP will probably get until Christmas to see how things go but I worry about his negative tactics which cost us a few points especially at The Emirates when he pulled off all the forwards and it looked like a practice session defenders versus forwards it nearly worked but with the ball bobbly about our box all the time it was inevitable they would score . Nice new Riverside Stand pity building a nice team seems to be out of reach for the present administration .
He's been terrible yet people thought he could walk into any team.

Parker does have a system, keep passing back, even if you are in front of the other sides goal, keep doing this until your own goalie has it. Also, pass across your own goal which we used to be told to never do. Don't shoot at goal because if it does not go in you will lose control. Don't start me, if they are going to play like that I am not going.

Anguissa has it in his contract he will only play in top league so he will either be sold or loaned out again . Same clause applied to Seri . I cant see any of our loan players remaining ( Keeper and Anderson will be in high demand from top clubs ) , the rest would be expensive and ineffective luxury in the championship even if they wanted to stay - unlikely Plus we have numerous of our own loans due to return to us . We are not like Norwich or Watford who were able to retain most of their team after relegation . They sold one star player each but kept the rest . Apart from Mitro who could we sell for more than £10m ?

MT.... the money we spent on those 3 players plus Anguissa meant FFC had no spending power to buy decent players only loan players I assume they now come back on to the wage bill at Premiership level bet we can’t give even them away and then there’s Mitro ?! He now wants to play in Belgium ok but who can buy him and for how much FFC paid at least £20m . So let’s total all that up .. £70m FFC can’t afford that loss so there is an impact somewhere . I rest my case ! Of course like yourself I’ll be at The Cottage next season subject to covid but I’m not expecting much .

Will Anguissa stay, or go back on loan again to Villareal. Is it true that he won't play in the championship, or was the reason that Fulham were not prepared to pay the wages he is on in the championship. He could do worse than rejoining Villareal, who wanted to keep him this season, and having turned over Arsenal, are in the Europa league final against Man U.

I suspect it will be much of the same next seaso n with Parker stating how proud he is of the players as we lose to the bottom clubs. The usual players playing one game and spending the next six months recovering from an injury sustained through playing 90 minutes or suffering from an injury sustained in the dressing room prior to the ko. As loyal as our supporters are I expect numbers will drop to around 15,000 once we are allowed to attend matches. A serious root and branch reorganisation is required, but this will not happen, starting with the sacking of the so called scouting team who have never uncovered rough diamonds and transformed them into highly polished gems. Poach Brentford's scouting team who understand and know where to look as oppose to our team who rarely stray beyond Bishops Park. Bring in a full time Director of Football who has experience and knows the type of players required to grace our wonderful club. Once again, I suggest hiring Roy who will probably be available at the end of the season. Unless there are radical changes Fulham will struggle next season and, unlike Norwich and Watford, there will be no automatic return to the land of milk and honey. If we are to continue to run our Academy we must be prepared to blood our youngsters as do Chelsea, Arsenal and the two Manchester teams instead of prevailing with loaners and tired old players who have given up the ghost. Will this happen? No! None of us want to return to the days when we almost dropped out of the bottom league when attendances fell to four or five thousand. Parker, like Tony Blair, appears to be the Teflon Man and I can only believe he is the source of these rumours of being linked to Spurs whilst his agent is circulating press comments that he is the next Bill Shankly. I am fully prepared to see Fulham settle into a mid table position as we neither possess a manager or players good enough to replicate the success of Norwich and Watford. ,
You are missing one important point, and that is the paucity of the competition. We will be playing against teams that haven’t benefitted from the Premiership money and have therefore suffered disproportionately during the pandemic. We will be fine

According to a report in today's Sun newspaper, things are not as happy as Scott Parker and the club try to make out, that Scott is loved by the players and they respect him. Well going on this mornings report Mitro, is one that doesn't as he wants out, if Parker stays, so we are already facing a situation where one of them, or even both will be gone. It’s time for the loan players to sit, same for the players who will be out of contract. Maja, Andersen, Aina, Lookman, Areola, Lemina, RLC should all be stuck to the bench. Probably Anguissa too, don’t want t to risk loaning him out next year for good money. I think we’ll see Bryan, Hector, Onomah quite a bit these next games, maybe TC and Odoi too. And some young players to bring energy. Best to start planning for next season.
Can't see that personally as they are all contracted until the end of the season and we will still be paying their wages and loan fees.

For those who have not read the full report...

Fulham were relegated for the second time in three years on Monday night following a 2-0 defeat at home to Burnley; The club will conduct a review, as with every season, to identify areas where club needs improving

Scott Parker will be given funds to spend as Fulham target an immediate return to the Premier League

Fulham remain committed to Scott Parker as head coach and he will be given funds to spend in the transfer window as the club aim to bounce back to the Premier League at the first attempt.

Fulham were relegated for the second time in three years on Monday night following a 2-0 defeat at home to Burnley.

The club will conduct a review, as with every season, to identify areas where the club needs improving.

Parker, who has two years on his contract at Craven Cottage, led Fulham to promotion from the Championship in his first full season at the club and will be backed with signings as they aim to repeat the success of the 2019/20 season.

Players brought in on permanent deals last summer, like Tosin Adarabioyo, Antonee Robinson and Kenny Tete, will be part of the squad next season, as will the majority of the team that beat Brentford in the Championship play-off final in August.

As a result of relegation, it is thought income will be reduced by around £55m but relegation clauses, in terms of player salaries and loan players returning to their parent clubs, will more than cover that figure.

Costs were cut following the previous relegation season and as a result there will be no requirement for the club to make any redundancies.

The ongoing work to the new Riverside stand is still on course to be ready for the summer of 2022 despite relegation from the Premier League.

The club is actively seeking a new director of scouting as a replacement for Javier Pereira who left in September for a managerial post in China.

A "gutted" Parker said Fulham need to make "big decisions" on how to survive in the Premier League but refused to answer questions on his own future at the club.

Parker has overseen both of those drops into the Championship, first taking over from Claudio Ranieri in the Cottagers' doomed 2018/19 campaign, but after leading his former club back to the Premier League at the first time of asking last August he has again fallen short in his first full season as a top-flight manager.

Their relegation was confirmed with Monday night's 2-0 defeat by Burnley, a game where Fulham drew yet another blank in a season where they have scored only 25 times in 35 games. Parker pointed to a familiar feeling as a toothless home attack again failed to cause sufficient damage to the visiting defence, and said the club must work out how to keep their heads above water in the Premier League.

"I'm hurt, I'm gutted," he told Sky Sports. "This has been looming us, we've flirted with it for a long time, there are no words that I can say other than I am gutted we have not been successful this year. Staying in this division was a success for us, we knew it was always going to be a challenge, but it is bitterly disappointing not to do that.

"We're on a rollercoaster - relegation, promotion, relegation - now is not the time to talk about it, but we certainly need to make some big decisions, we need to understand what we need to do and where we need to improve, and transfers are definitely going to be an area we look at."

Like him or lump him, Scott Parker will lead us back to the land of milk and honey and he will get the funds to finance it apparently. Scott Parker made a cheeky jibe about investments and recruiting and i guess it rubbed off okay by the Khans. Normally a manager never survives a dig at the owner, especially if you got the team relegated. Obviously, our owners are all sweetness and light and they love Parker very much, and no matter what we all think about Scott Parker, he is going nowhere. My first reaction to the relegation was a shock and horror and a sickening feeling that Parker had dodged the bullet. A bullet that Kunye might have inflicted on Parker. The Walther PPK, James Bond's choice of weaponry might have done a grand job on Parker and Kunye would have been happy as larry to inflict the mortal wound but 'NO' we will not stoop that low a level because we are nice people really? Instead, we will all be patient and pigs might fly, and Scott Parker will take us back to our rightful place back to the premiership. The owners have a lot of faith in Scott Parker and they are putting out some friendly smoke signals via Sky. My worry is that Scott Parker will need a plan B and C. How do we find a cutting edge and a way through on goal? We play some nice pretty football and we look as good as Barcelona 'sometimes' albeit, without scoring goals. Scott Parker must firstly recruit the right players that will play 'Parker-ball' and plug holes in square pegs to sort out a leaky defence and find a cutting edge on goal. This will be something new to Parker and coach team, and i sincerely hope we can find some new party tricks to bamboozle the likes of Brentford and co. Is this enough to convince the likes of Bigboy and Kunye? I doubt it, but there is nothing we can do about a Scott Parker vote of confidence from owners who are slightly more interested in the likes of Jacksonville and football that is considered not proper. Time will tell and while we are at it, 'hello Brentford and friends we are back where we belong for now, apparently...
I suppose our options are we keep faith with Fulham (knowing that it will be more of the same) or we switch allegiances! No way I will be doing that though. Please Khans, wake up. Einstein said the definition of insanity was to keep doing the same thing and expect a different answer!

Going back to the Championship is not going to help us. We do not have the team that Burnley had when they were relegated or the Manager for that matter. Should Scott Parker stay? We let Bobby Robson go all too soon and look at what he achieved. He will stay as he is a lap dog of Mr Kahn Jr. If Kahn Jr. true he has not been to any Home game this season, that is a terrible inditement. For me if we are to return to the Premiership, we need to hold on to Areola (GK). Andersen (CB), Angulssa, Lemina and Lookman (MF) and bring back S Sessegon, Betinelli and maybe resign Patrick Roberts he was wasted at Derby this season and concentrate on getting the best out of our current squad. No more loan players. Manager for me would be Sam Alladyce if he leaves WBA, Mick McCarthy, Nigel Clough, Nigel Atkins or Ray Lewington. WHAT WE NEED IS A PREMERSHIP STRIKER!

Seems like we have broken all sorts of record this year. scoring least goals at home. Lowest conversion rate. least come from behind (that doesn't sound right but you know what i mean), etc etc. I think we must also be the first team ever in the premier league that the Director of Football not watched one single match live in person in the entire season?! yet - he makes decision if a player is a good fit for the team or not! I don't think this record will ever be broken again...

Mind you, if the investment in the stand is of same quality as the squad, that stand will collapse into the Thames by Christmas.

Tete Kongolo Tosin Robinson/Bryan

Reid Reed Cairney Anguissa Caveleiro

That’s a decent Championship team to start with. Add four decent players to that and we are back in business. what about Maja staying on? Will Mitro stay? Sess will play in the Championship. Will Anguissa stay?

Doubt we will see Anguissa. Like him a lot but he is a valuable asset and if we need to rebuild, I imagine he will be essential to making that happen. Maja can bog off. Terrible signing. Half decent team with a very strong championship defence. just hope the championship players they want to play for the shirt after the way they have been treated.I wonder if we could still sign lookman - he would tear up the championship.

Anguissa did not want to play in the Championship last time can't see it this time. I am sure their will be a big turnout. Caveleiro is useless in either division. Kongolo plays one game and gets injured for months, he is as fragile as cheap glass. Mitro obviously has had enough of Fulham. That team will change a lot. We need a dynamic group of players who will storm the league not a lot of depressed failures.

The worst outcome next season would be promotion. Highly unlikely, granted, although let's not forget that only one year ago the idea of a return to the P'ship was equally fanciful. The consensus seems to be that the club needs to build a squad that is in it for the long term, an organic blend of home grown talent and astute signings of established Championship quality players who can kick-on to the higher level. But.... will supporters have the patience to stick it out for two, maybe three, seasons in the Championship while we build a unit that will hold its own in the top division, the way Wolves did it and Bournemouth before them? Count me in for the long run, a few seasons in the Championship fine with me, but what's the betting that in a year's time, and the season after that, if we're stuck mid-table in the Championship, supporters will be howling for change and complaining that the club has no ambition?
See post below. I posted the same question. The answer for me is NO. We need to do whatever it takes to get into the Premier league first time. We are not patience and if we are not competing, even if we have half the youths in the team, we will complain. At the end of the day, you are much better to start from scratch in the premier league than in the championship! why wouldn't you. Name me one fan who has complained their club winning promotion?? never.

Lots of comments last night on importance we keep the spine of the team , as Watford and Norwich have done . Only slight problem with that is we have 7 loan players who will all probably return to owning clubs at end of season , plus i think Zambo A has it in his contract only will play in top league .Whatever we do it needs to be done well before season starts , not after first 4 games . A happy Mitro will be an asset , if unhappy cash in now . I hate making comparisons with Brentford but their recruitment from lower leagues has to be admired .

Just been discussing with my brother the players who are due back we have Betinelli, Sessenong, Christie, Mawson, Le Marchand, Seri, Johanson, Kebano and Kanara. That's almost a whole team. Could they have done much worse than the loan players bought in to replace them? Please stop using the loan system, it always works out to our detriment as the mercenaries really don't care.
Yes, they would have done much worse. M Ost of these are barely Championship quality let alone PL ready! You forgot Knockeart by the way ;0)

Would you have been happier if we did what we did last time, buying a load of expensive but poor players and then be saddled with them when relegated? At least the loanees can be sent back. The real problem was that we were ill prepared and simply not good enough. We were promoted after having played pretty poorly throughout last season and were nowhere near ready to face the top flight. We had very little time between our Wembley victory and the start of the new season and never stood a chance. Rebuilding needs to start now, not if/when we scrape another promotion

Thought we were short of one or two, thanks for pointing out Knockhaert. If we don't rate these players then get rid. Our wage bill is apparently staggering, why give so much to cast offs that other teams don't want. The loan system has been abused and needs seriously looking at. We will never build a proper team with Tony Khan's crazy systems. Are last seasons castoffs expected to give their all in the knowledge that Tony will discard them once again if they get us promoted...I think not
posted by NRL (Guest) - Tuesday 11th May 2021, 1:47 PM
Looking at the players that we have on loan for the next couple of weeks, how many of their clubs would actually want them back, as obviously they didn't want them in the first place, if they loaned them out us. If this is the case, how many of them, do you think that we would like to retain,? I think that both Andersen and Lookman are worth a shout, plus possibly Aina. I'm not too sure that I would like to sign Lemina, or Areola, as I think that they are both overated, and we are not short in either positions.

Improved their performances under Khan's ownership, can any American football supporter elucidate.
They’ve been awful, particularly their drafting though this year they had the number 1 pick, so that was obvious who to get with it since there is quarterback who is head and shoulders better than the rest. They famously had the number 4 pick and an awful qb, instead of picking mahones (the messi of nfl at the moment) and a list of world class talent they ignored for fournette who was later dropped and given away for free and 3rd round pick (basically paying a team to take him off their hands) only to go win the super bowl a year later with the most yards in the game. Jags are a shambles.

I guess then they are underfunded as you can still buy success in American sport.
posted by The Time Is Now - Tuesday 11th May 2021, 5:58 PM
The way the draft works is the worst team gets the first pick then the second worse gets the second pick and so on till the best team who get the last pick. It’s a way to try and keep teams rebalanced since there is no relegation.
posted by Guy (Guest) - Tuesday 11th May 2021, 6:26 PM
As I posted a few weeks ago, they have the worst record in the NFL since they bought the team by a country mile. Expanding on Guy’s comments, besides getting the top pick every year, the schedule the next year always favors the weakest teams. It is very hard to be poor every year. As far as being underfunded, the NFL has a hard salary cap, same amount for every club. Some level of parity is the aim. The Khans are simply inept at sports ownership. They are a laughing stock in football circles here

I am amazed that the Parker thinks it was a tight game. It was not, Burnley were just much too clever for us all over the pitch. We gave them two chances and they buried them. We had 70% of the possession and 21 shots but never remotely looked like scoring. We were out thought and out fought by a team most other team in this division would beat.

I think it is very easy to criticise the system of loaning players to get out the league, or trying to stay in a league. If i think all the fans and Parker are suggesting, we need to build from ground up, minimise number of loans to avoid this yo-yo situation. Very nice idea but building from ground up will take time (esp. with FFP), money and along the way many mistakes. And at the end of the day, it doesn't guarantee to put you in a better place. At best it will take 2 years but likely to take 3-4 years, and at the end of the 3-4 years, the project could completely fail. Is that what the fans want? Do we have the patience to wait until, say 2026 to get back into the premier league? So before we jump on the bandwagon we need to bring in the youths, sign some raw gems and avoid the loan market, please think that's what you want?
What a load of rubbish John, we have a core of a team that should get us promoted next season, provided we buy three or four strong additions, players with a mix of youth and experience. Talbot will have been looking for the past six months to this eventuality. We will probably have a couple on loan next season as well. But then comes the hard work when we get promoted the club must do it’s business early. Parker will stay as coach next season but must be given a warning if by Christmas we are not looking good then he must go. But next season with the parachute money we must bounce straight back like Norwich and Watford have done.
posted by Voice of Reason (Guest) - Tuesday 11th May 2021, 8:53 AM
Once you bring through any one or any quality, they'll be gone. The big boys will cherry pick you and you'll need to bring another through. PL survival needs a good manager and a bottomless bucket of cash. You lot live in the past. Its a different game/world now where loyalty doesn't exist.
posted by You'll never get it. (Guest) - Tuesday 11th May 2021, 9:14 AM
The investment is important and Fulham have the finances to match half the PL teams. Managers are critical but don’t forget Dyche got relegated with Burnley and they stayed with him, and with no money look what he has done. Brighton, Southampton and Bournemouth for a time are all models that we need to look at and learn from. So the point made by the comment above is fundamentally flawed.
posted by Voice of Reason (Guest) - Tuesday 11th May 2021, 9:57 AM
That’s a old fashion and romantic view VoR. For every Brighton, Burnley and Southampton, you have Bristol city, Millwall and reading. Basically, more likely you will stay in the championship forever. My point promotion in 2026! The model perhaps we should follow is Leeds, Wolves and Villa. They all pushed the envelope in the championship, then go large in their first season in the premier league, then stabilise. We have the resources to do that. As a fan, while we had too many loans, I’d like the wolves/Leeds template. I think people are naive to think we have the squad that can get us up next season! We were lucky against Brentford and the aging players have aged another 2 years!!

Well that's it then, down and out: Out classed, out played and often out managed. The clowns, the loanees, the "must play" contracts, the forgotten bench, a side but never a team. The whole club needs a complete overhaul. We've turned into a third rate gig economy focused on real estate development with Nero Khan playing his violin while Fulham burns. Enough. Enough of this sh1tshow. Enough of the shame, the embarrassment, the abject mismanagement and the complete and utter failure to comprehend English football. This has to stop. Parker is a mere pawn in this game, a convenient excuse for gross mismanagement by absentee landlords. He may be culpable within his terms of reference but be in no doubt where the blame lies and where, ultimately, the buck stops. Until there are significant changes throughout the organisation from the top down we will continue to be a laughing stock here and abroad. Khan has boxed himself into a corner. With the mercenaries going and the remainder too old, too unfit and too disheartened to contribute, where is the third renaissance going to come from? We are lads in a terrible mess of Khan's making and until the ownership and management is sorted out we are destined to be squatters in a shiny palace. We didn't belong in the Premier League, we may not even belong in the Championship. Where do we belong? Enough of the Khans; this has to stop and only fan pressure can bring that about. Sad times indeed. Ari
FFS to listen to you lot we are just about to drop out of the football league! Get a grip, we are back in the Championship, the 2nd division where we have spent most of our history. Parker clearly took a diplomatic swipe at the ownership in his interview yesterday. Gezza and others we all know the Board are ultimately responsible for the season so you don’t need to go on and on. However, what you must understand is the owner is not going but can change the personnel running day to day duties. The owner needs to learn from the mistakes made this season and ensure it doesn’t repeat. Perhaps Tony Khan should step down as Director of Football, that would be a wise move. Perhaps Mackintosh needs to go. Perhaps Talbot needs to go. Perhaps Parker needs to go. But Shahid Khan needs to stay but does need to make changes.

Voice Of Reason- Yes I think myself and others like me do need,as you put it,to go 'on and on'.This serves two functions (a) it gives me and many of my fellow-Fulham fans a chance to express our totally justified frustration with the awful way our club is being mismanaged by the Khans (b) there is the faintest of faint hopes that our anger and discontent will somehow be picked up by someone who can let Shahid Khan know how we feel.Let me educate you-it's called the right to express an opinion.Ever heard of that ?

I don’t see a big difference from the disrespect the super league clubs showed their fans and the disrespect we’ve received from the khans by having part time tony as our dof, it’s born out of the same arrogance as the super league clubs

We did not learn from the mistakes we made last time we visited the premier. In fact never mind calling us the Cottagers, we now can have a new name, The Visitors!..
Now that was funny (sadly).

We beat Everton and Liverpool, were playing well, and looked like we would sail up the table. Where did it go all go wrong, what caused our subsequent collapse, because collapse it was. Last night we looked like the hopeless team that started the season, could not defend, could not score. It is very hard to understand and very Fulhamish.
Parker said he doesn’t know why. If I were the owner I would find that answer most disturbing and perhaps why a change of coach needs to be considered

Yes it was a bit odd beating those clubs I think when you play some of the top teams they do let you play a bit, but the games we have needed to have a scrap and roll the sleeves up they bottled it like last night .boys against men I am afraid.

Agree we couldnt compete and get max points against the likes of Brighton, Wolves, Palace etc. Liverpool, Everton play a different game and allowed Fulham to play. Also no good if you cant score, we never looked like we could

Poor ownership, very poor management, and shameful under motivated player should hang their heads in shame. Lets hope all the above can be improved next season. All the best to every FFC supporter.

It's all been said on this board and many times. Baby Khan has no idea about football. Parker does as he is told and knows very little about improving his players and his team. I think I'll watch Chelski next season. At least there will be plenty of goals and bags of skill. I still love FFC but without a change at the top next season will be no better than this one.
What the hell.....? Listen mate nobody is more critical of the Khans and the appalling way they run our club than me.But support Chelsea ?.................NO WAY !!!!!!!!!

My teams gone down and the dog passed away an hour ago. A day to forget.
I'm so sorry for your loss, supporting Fulham is a very up and down ride. Losing your dog must be heart wrenching, they're so loyal and loving, feel for you big time.

So sorry to hear about the dog. We've all suffered but for a season not just a day. You'll never forget your dog but guarantee joy with the next one.

The Premier League has changed drastically over the past few seasons. With so much revenue coming in through TV rights and sponsorships, the teams that have managed to stay in the Prem have the cash to attract top players from all over the globe. Sides like Palace, Brighton, Southampton, etc used to look at Fulham and envy us. With Al Fayed putting in millions to bring us up from the lowest level in the football league to top half Premier League finishers and Europa League finalists, we were a good steady side under Roy and Chris. Times have changed. Fayed sold up and in came the Khans. Yes, we must appreciate the money they have and are still bringing in to our club. The smashing new Riverside Stand that should be of use by all, with a new walkway to the ground along the Thames. Unfortunately, we have in recent years been subjected to some pretty poor managers being brought in. Slav was the exception, but bringing a team up from the Championship and expecting immediate success in the top flight has become that much harder. The teams that get promoted are finding it so difficult to retain their status, as those already there have strengthened their squads enough to help them escape the drop. Norwich, Fulham and West Brom are typical teams that are too good for the Championship, but not strong enough in the top level. My prediction at the start of this season was that Fulham and WBA would come straight back down. The third would be either Brighton or Sheff Utd (if they failed to strengthen throughout). I thought that Leeds were too good to get relegated, with the players they had and a half-decent manager. Next season, I predict that Norwich and Watford will make the drop again. Out of the four in the Play-Offs, maybe Brentford might stand a chance as they have been knocking on the door for a few seasons, and have a brilliant scouting team who seem to find excellent players every time they lose any to Premier teams. As for Fulham, I believe that Scott Parker should be given the time and money to rebuild our team. No more loanees, no dependence on players that are not good enough for the Premier League, and no more big money moves for untried foreigners just because they can hack it in their respective leagues. I would suggest (as someone previously mentioned) that our hero Roy Hodgson worked alongside Parker for a year or two to give him some advice and help with the signing of new players. As for Parker going to Spurs, it would be ludicrous. Firstly for Scott as he would be another Lampard, and secondly for Tottenham. It would not surprise me though, as Levy likes to spend as little as possible. Let's not get too upset. This season has been awful. Apart from a few good performances, we have once again been outplayed by most teams. At least we might see some goals at the right end next season, and have something to aim for, and that's not a relegation scrap. COYW ...... Let's make the Cottage invincible once again.
Ffc wage bill was biggest in championship by 100% Wage bill in premiership was 9 th While we know the DOF is incompetent any half decent manager would have walked the championship and stayed up We’ve lost our best youth we’ve destroyed our dna and it’s all about money Parker and his team are useless

Methinks the DoF highly overpaid for bad footballers. He is so in over his head it’s sickening. Agents and other clubs are having a laugh at our expense.

I am actually amazed that people are defending this manager. Firstly he has never taken ownership of any mistakes..he calls out the club the players his mum a passing stranger but never blames himself. A weasel in every way..For example Rooney did the same at Derby..the differrence..no money no players no investment..you can blame the idiot DOF for his recruitment but I remember Parker loving the RLC Lookman and Aerola signngs plus Andersen..combined wages of nearly £400k a week.9 goals at home He prides himself on his defensive capabilities which in all honest were the only things he had... and yet cant even do that..players to blame..Quality managers look at themselves fist..This guy is in a self promotion situation and like trump has convinced the media hes been hard done by..look ay Dyche and get real.. Personally we are so dysfunctional as a club and he is a by product of it..And he looks a twerp dressed like some effing jazz poet!! Hopefully a proper manager next season
