Only the one winner today Len. Bold Princess went from 100-1 to 16s but pulled up. Hopefully tomorrow's endeavours will bear fruit. Might have to go back to shoplifting otherwise. I've got old mother O!Doors crystal ball out of the caravan and come up with these. Vinnies Icon, 12:25 Exeter, 40-1, not run for two years and never won a race, I'm getting a twinge in my war wound, Putdecashonthedash 3:15 Exeter, not run for a year, currently 20-1, Zyon 1:50 Sandown, 7 years old and first time blinkered, Mah Mate Bob 2:50 Sedgefield, only 10-1, but a bit of a course specialist, Cherub Rock 4:30 Dundalk, tipped in the racing post, Geological 5:00 Dundalk, C & D winner, currently 40-1, 9 year old but carrying a decent weight. Think that's enough cat food for tonight. Who needs covid when you can starve to death following my fancies. Oh and I'm hearing Joey Bryan is definitely starting on Friday.

Good for them, freedom does not apply if it hurts other people which is what the antivaxxers do. Something like 90% of the people in hospital with Covid are not vaccinated.

Well if you're upto date with all your vaccines and 90% of the cases in hospital with this flu are anti vaxers and not had the jab whats your problem whether or not john doesn't want the jab. Just asking

If John doesn’t want the jab so be it , but why keep banging on about it on here ?
posted by Bob (Guest) - Thursday 02nd December 2021, 7:44 PM

Reasoning, it's because it would be putting unnecessary pressure on the NHS; and potentially put others who need the beds at risk. That's the thinking at least. But as I've shown, that statistic isn't accurate anyway. But the NHS has been 'overwhelmed' for years. In the case of other countries, why are the likes of Canada prepared to sack health staff who aren't vaccinated for the sake of limiting pressure on the health system? Back to the UK, why were all the Nightingale hospitals left empty? The NHS has been 'overwhelmed' for years. A quick Google search shows that one.

Bob, I'm already vaccinated.
posted by John (Guest) - Thursday 02nd December 2021, 8:03 PM

I think we just need to strike a balance, some vaccinated, some natural anti bodies and some with neither. All this speak about anti vaxers shouldn't have medical care or having to pay for going to hospital and being second class citizens is ridiculous.

Just looked at the BBC's football online page and saw that the England female team are winning 13-0 after only 67 minutes, does anyone take this seriously, this is ridiculous and pointless. They'll have agents next and big money contracts and be asked to appear on TV as pundits commenting on the mens game, what a silly world it's become, we may as well have an England canine team come to think of it I would rather watch a team of dogs playing football than females.

The BBC, are trying to force women's football down our throats, and I for one will never bother with it. The BBC with all of the licence fee money to play with, are far too tight to pay for and show any Premier League or Championship matches, so they are scraping the barrel with showing women's football, and trying to tell us, as if we are listening, how wonderful women's football is, and we all know that its nothing of the sort. You would have to tie me down to watch it.

Professional women's football is in it very early days and most teams around the World are very amateur. The English team is very professional and they were bound meet a team full of very ordinary players. Men's professional football had some big wins early on but the League structure stopped too much disparity between teams and very few international matches happened in the early days.

These are only posted to get my dander up. I'm biting again like a scorpion on a foxes back. Really. TTIN? Women's pro football recent? Didn't we have a women's team 20 years ago which folded due to not being sustainable. This was based on the continental model I seem to remember. So women's football has been around for years and has never created enough interest to pay for itself. I'm guessing people aren't interested. They've got agents and big earnings all paid for by us mugs who support the make game. I can guarantee the pittance the BBC gives them wouldn't pay for the floodlights or half time oranges. You're all going to come back at me saying I'm sexist but my answer is simple. If you support it that much why don't you go to the matches? Any games I've glanced at are empty or full of kids accompanied by bored adults or school teachers. Sounds like a groomers dream to be honest.

I have absolutely nothing against women playing professional football or cricket. If people want to go and watch it they can. But I do object strongly to the political correctness that is now thrusting the women's game down our throats, together with women commentators. I exclude the excellent Jacqui Oatley who did her first Premiership commentary in 2007. There'll always be exceptions.

Following two weeks of voting, we can now announce the results of the 2021 Fulham Supporters’ Trust board election. We would like to thank all members who participated in this election, whether as candidates, nominators or voters.

The nominations period was open from Wednesday 27th October to Wednesday 10th November and the subsequent election took place between Saturday 13th November and Saturday 27th November, with all paid up members on 1st October eligible to participate.

Huge thanks to our Independent Scrutineer Jonny Cope who oversaw a very smooth process.

Jonny has now confirmed the election results in his Independent Scrutineer’s report and we are pleased to announce that the following Trust members have been elected to the board:

Three year terms
Sue Couch
Ian Clarke
Owen Smith
Tamara Dragadze

One year term
Sarah Keig

Commiserations to Steve Nicholson who was not successful on this occasion.

The 200 word statements made by all candidates are available to on the official site.

Three board members who stood down by rotation this year – Sue Couch, Ian Clarke and Owen Smith – have been re-elected for a further three years and will be joined by new board members Tamara Dragadze (3 year term) and Sarah Keig (1 year term). We extend a special welcome to Tamara and Sarah and also our huge thanks to Chris Gilbertson and Derek Brewer who stood down from the board this year.

The new full board of 12 will meet for the first time in December when formal board positions will be agreed.

Thank you for your continued support of the Fulham Supporters’ Trust.

Simon Duke
Secretary

So 3 blokes and 3 ladies. Hardly representational of the supported base is it? 4 & 2 maybe or even 5 & 1 but of course these days they have to be seen to be "fair" don't they.

2013 forced digital marketers to realise that acquiring vast numbers of followers on social media platforms simply wasn't practical or sufficient. Instead (with partial thanks to Google's Hummingbird algorithm), greater focus was given to engagement and content optimisation to help grow businesses more meaningfully. So, what does 2014 have in store? Well, inbound marketing will increasingly take centre stage to advocate customers sustainably. Here are our top predictions: Editorial content is more desirable than ever, gaining increasing exposure on website homepages instead of simply being side-lined. With the release of Google Hummingbird in 2013, marketers have recognised the value of implementing high-quality, relevant, and original content in order to rank more effectively across search engines. In 2014, brands using content simply to gain links will be penalised by Google - instead, marketers can succeed in gaining a combination of the best reach, discussion, and quality of links to further their SEO campaigns by producing great, genuine content. As far as I am aware, Mitro left on good terms and their fans still like him. Newcastle could not find a better striker should they be relegated. As we seen with decent service, Mitro can single handedly get them back up. Newcastle. need a goal scorer desparatly (what better than the highest scorer in Europe at the moment). From Mitro’s point of view, yes they could be relegated. But they could stay up too. They can double his money. Also in 3-4 years time, Newcastle, with the money. are likely be a much bigger and more successful club than Fulham. Fingers crossed he stays!

Why are you getting excited Everton always get beaten in London. Why are you on a Fulham FC site you sad Bentford fan. Reality will soon kick in again when you slide down the table to be within the relegation zone. You’re a small insignificant club with the worst ground I won’t call it a stadium in the premiership and the championship. You know in a couple of years you will be back where you belong in league one. I feel sorry for those noble Evertonians who had to endure a Sunday on the outskirts of London in one of the most ugly parts of Hounslow at a ground they must of thought was a temporary structure. At least they will have the comfort of returning to see their team at Goodison alive with memories of titanic battles between themselves and the cream of football. PS what is that thing on Toney’s head does it have a pulse.

In a way I hope that don't get relegated, as it will guarantee us 6 points next season.

A few players have looked below par in the last 2 matches but reading the messages below anyone would think we were struggling. 7 wins 2 draws as long as we turn up against Bournemouth this Friday nothing to panic about, got a bit lucky today hit the woodwork 3 times against Derby without Mitro I’m not worried.

It looks like the majority of the squad have had this bug so hopefully by Friday we can put out a team that is nearly fully fit.

We all complain at times when we see some very bad passing by our lads, and we think that all other teams are better at it. Well after watching Brighton play Leeds tonight, even so called top Premier League sides make bad pass after pass, so they all do it, whatever division they are in. We have had two disappointing matches in a row, where some of our passing was atrocious, but at the end of the day, we didn't lose either games, and we are still at the top of the table, and coming into December who would have thought that would be happening. It's a big well done so far.

PNE were just about the worst team I've seen this season. They were sh!t and we just about about out-sh!tted them with a team half dead on their feet. What we need is an international break to get everyone well again....;)

PNE got its tactics perfect. We know from Woy that looks don’t matter, graft and defensive solidity earns a team the right to play. I was impressed by how they frustrated us. On our side, TC adds an element to our team that we missed the last two matches. Reed and Onomah nowhere near as creative. As athletic as Robinson is, Joe Bryan’s service is far far superior. Mitro benefits from Bryan’s inclusion. Also think Tosin hasn’t been great since returning. Hector played quite well. Silva said as much during his post/match comments, that maybe he didn’t pick the right team.

Total control for 30 minutes, then zilch. My reading is that some of the team were spent before halftime. Let's see what we can do against Bournemouth. Preston earned their point although Rodek was clearly impeded and the handball was. Clear enough.

As others have said, Fulham's performance against Preston was lethargic and we were lucky to hold on for a draw. Just two shots on target, one of which was Ream's well-taken goal, was simply not good enough. We had no energy, and perhaps the mid-week illness at the club had taken its toll. Fulham's two central defenders made the usual errors that Preston failed to take advantage of, but their goal should arguably have been ruled out for handball. We certainly missed Cairney in midfield, and no-one seemed to have any idea how to unlock Preston's well-drilled defence. Mitro never had a kick all game. Wilson didn't seem to have any desire to take defenders on, and our best attacker was probably Robinson. There's got to be a vast improvement if we are to beat Bournemouth.
Replies
So far this season we have been robbed of 4 points by poor officials decisions, as they allowed Bristol City's goal to stand although it was miles offside, and now today's poor decision in not disallowing Preston's goal. However we are still top of the Championship table and everything is still in our own hands. Friday nights game will be exiting providing we play to our potential, we should win.

Don’t think we deserved three points but we’re badly let down by the Ref . Presume he missed the arm scoring the goal VAR anyone ?

Ok we may not have deserved to win because of our poor second half performance but they fouled the ball into the net and VAR would not have given that goal a decision that would have taken a second . Also Sky commentators and in particular Alex Neil who don’t forget is a former PNE manager were poor and basically got everything wrong .

Swings in roundabouts but I make it 2-1 against us this season. Today and the Coventry game we were screwed by the ref, we were lucky against West Brom so let’s see if these things do equal out over the season, don’t know if it’s rose tinted spectacles or what but I think we always are down on bad decisions every season.

I’d rather have him than anyone else in the championship! Look on the positives. He ca link up play, he’s got very good speed, he take the ball into edge or inside the box and he’s brave. He needs fine tuned then he could be a very good player. He reminds me of Fredrick.

His final ball generally is not good enough. Today there were a lot of poor performances out there and apart from the Seri's freekick and Ream's conversion there was nothing from the team in an attacking sense and some very ordinary defending.

Maybe there are still players who are ill, it looked like it. Can’t believe how many times we gave the ball away after 30minutes. There was so much lethargy in movement and defending that we were lucky to get a point. The ref was awful and the goal from Preston should have been disallowed. Having said that Preston were the better team in my opinion. We need to be much better next Friday if we are to beat Bournemouth.

Illness, difficult playing conditions and little recovery time from the last match, given that Fulham also needed to travel to the North West. PNE are decent at home. I think the equaliser would have been ruled out in the PL. Let's take the point and move on. Almost a full week until the next match. Time to get players rested and ready to take back top spot.

Some games we seem to hold back and conserve energy rather than try to put games to bed. Not sure why. Once we play negative the other team comes into the game and we struggle to get any momentum. I’m being very critical since we are top but if we invite pressure all it takes is a crap decision from a ref to allow the other team into the game

Seems to be a reoccurring theme too. We do need a strong captain to pull us together after setbacks. We do seem to get easily agitated and lose composure when bad decisions are given against us. It seems at the moment we are struggling to get a team together for what ever reason, my suggestion for what its worth is to bring in young Bowie a speedy winger who also plays C/F, and swap positions with Kabano.my previous tips from a few years back proved a success RODEK ~ CAV! ~ and DRAMAH
Replies
After reading our proposed line up for tomorrows game, I cannot see for the life of me why Knockherts name is on the team sheet. Tend to agree having watched him, young Bowie should be given a chance, especially as our deficiency is in the C/F: WINGER: position.

He has had plenty of chances to shine ! But doesn’t seem to have what’s required to hold down a place in the squad. Probably score tomorrow !!!

Kieron Bowie just turned 19 has moved up from the academy team, sure he has so far been used as an impact sub, but evidently he has drawn attention from both Brentford & Middlesbrough, are we Fulham fans yet again going to be robbed of watching possible future talent, like Bireth & Dramagh. A speedy 19 yr old or a 30 something that even N Forest does not want

Sad piece of news read recently ,gordon hill a very good referee in the 70s,died in his care home , jumped out of window he was 90, had demezia, but the thing that was interesting was the fact he reffed our cup final in 1975.Bloody illness all over the place, swerving a bit why sack joka? they aint in trouble its not half way yet ,utterly stupid , another club will pay out a fortune just because they aint in top 3.

We sacked Jokanovic after only 11 games, I still think he would have sorted it out given time and that we were on the verge of turning things around. All in the past now. Joka does not seem to get a break here.

Not sure what happened on Wednesday but let’s move on. I don’t blame any of the players and the reality i think it was just a bad day in the office, less perfect game plan or Derby were simply a better team than people think. We can’t win all the games so getting one point to give the team and Marco a bit of a reality check and bring them back down to earth, may a good thing over the season as looking in hindsight the Coventry lost was the best game for Fulham this season. I don’t know what illness going around the players but I don’t think that is the reason why we didn’t win (apart from the keeper we are only talking about Mitro and Cairney, who only recently got back into the team). Even with the same team tomorrow, we should be good enough to beat Preston. Coyw! Keep going hopefully January, we start planning for the premier league!
Replies
Arguably our three best players think if mitro was playing we might have got onto one of them goal mouth scrambles read a stat yesterday we had 47 touches in there box t to7 I ours let’s hope we are all back to some fitness Saturday there was certainly sickness in the camp hence the inclusion of knokart ( excuse my spelling ) and the lack of running power could still be a problem on Saturday these things don’t just go away

The chance to increase the gap between Fulham and also ran Bournemouth was lost why? Cannot our best players make two games in a week. If promoted this team will struggle we need to get some Premiership quality defenders in now to bed them in for next season if we are serious contenders for the Premiership. No one wants another struggle in the top tier.

I quite like listening to the interviews with both Marco and some of our players after the matches, but whoever arranges these, should wait a bit longer, as we have a hard job hearing the interviews especially if they are softly spoken like Tim Ream was on the latest interview, with those dratted lawn mowers going on behind. It must be annoying for both the interviewer and the person that is being interviewed, well it certainly annoys me, as I would like to hear what they are talking about, but I can't because of the incessant row going on behind. Does anyone else find this irritating ?

If it was Covid Wilson would not have played on Saturday and Wednesday, it is a bug not Covid. After long isolation our immune systems are dormant so we are liable to catch anything we are not vaccinated against.

It sounds like a sickness bug is circulating which many players have contracted. Nothing to do with Covid. Rodak however had to isolate because he was in contact with a positive Covid case. Let’s get the facts right guys. Too many conspiracy theories going round last night. The guys were ill, hopefully recover in time for Saturday.

John. The vaccine does not stop people getting Covid, it stops them dying of it. There is no evidence to show the vaccine is useless except in the minds of anti-vac fantasists.

It doesn't stop them dying, it decreases the risk. But so does a mutated virus; as it mutates it weakens and will less likely kill you. Not to mention, I'm in the category of the 99.9% survival rate, so my odds of dying from it were pretty slim. So yeah, the vaccine is as good as useless to me.

So what you are saying there is I'm alright so f@@k everyone else. Also, your statement that a mutation always makes a virus less dangerous is just ludicrous.
posted by Broadsword (Guest) - Thursday 25th November 2021, 4:39 PM

First they say the vaccine would eradicate the so called virus, then for it to work more effectively you have to have two jabs, now they're saying you have to have a 3rd booster jab. Now they say that its only effective for 13 weeks. John get lambasted for being a anti vaxer when it ckearly show that the vaxine isn't as effective as first thought and in actual fact you vaccinated are the ones who are giving it to one another so really the ones who are vaccinated should be put under house arrest so us un vaccinated can carry on as normal.

Broad, "So what you are saying there is I'm alright so f@@k everyone else." ? How does a vaccine that helps me survive the virus, but doesn't stop me catching it and spreading it something that benefits anyone other than me? If you're afraid of the virus, get the vaccine. Because it's might reduce your risk. But as you said, it won't stop you spreading it.

Pfizer has saved millions of lives across the globe as has AZ, but you keep taking the conspiracy tabs and let's hope you don't end up drowning in your own juices, taking up an ICU bed from someone who really needs it.
