Perhaps we shouldn’t have as many as 24 teams? Or perhaps have 4 groups of 6? The qualifiers are so meaningless I can’t and probably most of you forgotten who were in England’s group.

Goalie off his line was criminal, but Scotland still had enough chances to get back into game. At this level, you must take your chances! Anyway' bring on the old Brits versus Scotts ding-dong. Our dearly beloved Nicola Sturgeon will be sharpening her claws for this one. It would be a site to see Boris in full pomp and shorts and yelling the Haka at Sturgeon when England win? If Scotland win, Geezer will be eating Haggis for a week and he will be doing a jig in tartan jockstraps and pledging allegiance to the clan of Robert the Bruce. 'GEEZER' don't do it mate'!!! Before the tournament started I thought England had a good chance, but i am beginning to change my mind. There are actually some very strong teams in the Euro. Portugal - full of solid players plus Ronaldo. France - maybe aging a bit but they won the world cup. Belgium - awesome! Germany - can never rule them out as they get better by the game. Italy - surprisingly good! Netherland and Spain - can never rule them out. So England probably have to beat 2 or 3 of the above teams. I am not so sure!

Saw Jacks in the Big Bash against Middlesex the other evening very impressive. 70 runs off 24 balls , unfortunately run out when he should have got a 100. Strike rate 291 per hundred balls. One to watch for sure. Jason Roy had to ply second fiddle, that’s saying something in itself. 12 years old or was it 22? Had a 25 ball century last month, not too dusty.

I have no objection to female football commentators (unless the voice is a continuous shrill, applies to males as well), no objections to females presenting football shows; but I find it ridiculous when female professional footballers sit alongside commentators giving their expert analysis. I expect the experts to have actually played professional football or at least managed at that level. In all due respect I don’t think there is one female professional footballer who would get into a National League side, never mind a Premiership club. The other evening there was a female professional footballer debating the match with Roy Keane. Absolutely ridiculous!

O’David, typical Woke answer. I put forward a valid point. Would be helpful to respond by answering it. The only response to these issues are; your either sexist or racist. If a female either played or managed a Premiership team I would have no objection to them giving expert analysis from their experience and player’s perspective
posted by Jegs (Guest) - Monday 14th June 2021, 4:15 PM

The problem with your analysis is that it will never allow a pathway to female punditry. Unless the womens game is elevated in popularity, which is exactly what we are seeing now. You would probably be throwing your toys out of the pram if a woman managed fulham, as you suggest, or if our new multi-million pound signing came from Arsenal women. You van barely handle them discussing the mens game, let alone be9ing onvolved with it! So how do you propose they break into punditry then? Additionally, i simply dont agree. I think because of the pressure the female pundits face, they actually come a lot more prepared than a lot of the male pundits - they have to be or they prove you and others right. How many times did we hear how good of a player RLC was from commenatators and pundits like Dion Dublin who had clearly not taken the time to look at his form this season but were there simply because of their football experience. I was also very impressed with Alex Scott for the Denmark game - who incidentally is a household name in the football world.

Jegs. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe Jon Motson ever played professional football.

Most pundits felt RLC had played ok for us, though most on this site disagreed. For the record he has represented his country from U 16 through to a full England cap so the guy can obviously play, perhaps being on loan didn’t bring out the best of him though for the money he received I would expect full commitment every game.I believe Chelsea are happy to let him go it will be interesting to see how he performs for his new club !

You have pressed the red alarm button Jegs and the Wokerati are on the scene quicker than Colombo turns up to a homicide in his dirty old mac. With a pretty predictable response the old " you'd be surprised they can vote and drive cars" how original! I personally wouldn't have any problem with a woman, gay, transgender, non white or any other minority you can think of managing Fulham as long as they had a proven track record at the top level and managed us so we won matches and played attractive football and we progressed. As for your original post now we have redressed the predictable woke response, A long time ago Brian Clough gave an interview with John Motson and said people sitting in their armchairs at home watching football want to watch the game and not listen to you pundits waffling on as you carry on too much so stop it and let us watch the bloody game, not his exact words before the Wokerati waste their time looking it up so they can quote his exact words and score points, and I have to agree with him I turn the volume down most of the time while the "experts" are waffling on or pause the programme.

@JW that's my point entirely. His reputation was largely what most pundits went off. It would be easy to include a dip of form in your note preparation but that was rarely discussed. Just lazy punditry. How much are they getting paid?

So predictable. So boring with the same old 'wokerati' joke. How to you propose they get experience, or a 'proven track record', in the mens game if they are criticised for even discussing it? Alex Scott, what about her? 100+ caps for lionesses, spending most of your career at arguably the best ladies team in the UK? Spending the rest of her career in the best ladies league in the world in the USA? Is she qualified enough to discuss football? Not sure they come much more qualified than her...
posted by O David (Guest) - Monday 14th June 2021, 5:41 PM

O’Guest, if you look at my original posting, you will see I have no problem with women commentating, presenting,or actually managing a men’s professional team (including Fulham); my argument is that when they sit next to a commentator or on a panel as an expert they should have actually been a manager or player at the highest level. And I’m sorry if you think that playing in the WPL qualifies them as an expert in the men’s game, I would question your knowledge and appreciation of the game. At the moment every opportunity is being taken to promote the WPL, well, I think the pathetic attendances reflects the skills of the players. I wish them well
posted by Jegs (Guest) - Monday 14th June 2021, 5:55 PM

So you'd be happy to merge women into the mens league? Because, otherwise there is no way they will ever be allowed to discuss mens football by your logic. I just don't understand why the most experienced of female players aren't allowed to sit next to male pundits and discuss the game. Do you not have a panel of experts to offer different perspectives. By your logic, there is no woman anywhere who is qualified to be a football pundit because they have never played the mens game. Youd listen to them if they had, but they cant. End of argument..?
posted by O David (Guest) - Monday 14th June 2021, 6:08 PM

I'd also argue someone like Alex Scott has a much better grasp of football than you are giving her credit for. She hasn't played the mens game, fine, fair enough. But she has under taken training sessions at state of the art facilities. Been at an international tournament training camp. Captained a team. Worked with coaches (including ex pro men). Dedicated a life and a career to a professional sport. But none of that qualifies her to sit next to Roy Keane and discuss football in a studio setting as a panel of experts offering different perspectives. But Dion Dublin, who has 4 england caps, and has never been to an international tournament, knows more on the topic than she does and is therefore a better pundit.

Probably not if you apply the logic a pundit must have players int he premier league. At the end of the day, a good pundit doesn’t have to be a good footballer in the same way a good football manager doesn’t have to ah e played in the premier league (Mourinho never played proper football! Warburton of QPR didn’t know football until he got bored of the city). So am not a woke but as long as the women pundits talk sense I have no issues. ~ There is still no evidence to suggest that these people would not have developed blood clots if they had not been vaccinated

~ There are 150,000 hospital beds in the UK

~ Less than 1,000 hospital beds are being taken up by Covid patients at the moment of which 98% have NOT been vaccinated

Completely disagree actually. I thought that they played to the conditions. It was 30c on the pitch by the time the game ended and 27c at the start so, in my opinion, they played a cool waiting game, pushing the ball from side to side moving Croatia players constantly and you could see by midway through the second half that they were knackered. At that point England upped the tempo and took the chance when it came their way. Perfect tactics for a hot and humid afternoon that paid off with three points....

I am very surprised that there's been no comments about England's showing at Wembley today on this site. Maybe it's because we are not used to supporting a team that wins. Personally I wasn't over enthusiastic about our performance, but we did what we had to do, and won the game, and it was extremely hot, which our players are not used to. My big disappointment was the way Kane was never in the game, and he looked completely knackered. Maybe all this transfer nonsense is stressing him out. However, one more win for England will mean that we will qualify for the knockout rounds.

Not a bad performance, and at least we won, which is better than our disgraceful England cricket team. Kane is completely overrated as an International footballer and he should never be captain of England. He is great in club football where he can score regularly against the weaker sides in the division, but when it comes to important International fixtures, penalties apart, he is just a very ordinary player.

Yeah, I know Realistic but sometimes I just get fed up with all the knobs on this site and cannot be arsed to put together any kind of argument. The O'Davswords, the JJEZZAs, the OZ Nicks, all talk about freedom of speech and diversity but all the do is end up talking down anyone who disagrees with their own point of view. It's why so many long term posters end up leaving the site. They bully and troll while pointing the finger at the rest. My comment was puerile and childish I agree, but sometimes you just have to let it out. Clearly this site is no longer for me I'm not black, gay or LGBGTQI+ of any description so i no longer am entitled to have an opinion, the world has gone crazy, the inmates have taken over the asylum. I am very confused Fred. I am not sure you have read and understood the top of the thread. Everyone is entitled to their opinion as said above including o david, broadsword jezza and the Fred’s of this world. But bullying and name calling is not acceptable. I think it’s very easy to read, or miss read, a post and to immediately bash off a response. I think, hand on heart, we have all been guilty of that sometime. Keyboards in the solitude of your home are too immediate and there is no reflection or external control. I often find myself screaming at something or someone on the TV, something I’d be very unlikely to do to their face. My wife suggests I calm down and I normally do. If you think it, you don’t have to say it, putting stuff in writing will always be a step too far, it can be read and re-read thus compounding the insult. Suggest that before one sends a post in indignation or anger, we all get our wives to read them:) Alternately take a deep breath, read a few times and amend before pressing send. I will try to follow this sage advice, but don’t hold your breath:))

you're preaching to the converted Broadsword of course Southgate is entitled to say what he feels, I can't see where you are coming from, if anyone disagrees with his opinion on something that doesn't mean they wish to deny his freedom of speech by saying it, on the contrary.

I’m sorry Broadsword, but Southgate took on the England manager’s job, so he took on the responsibility that goes with it. Would it be acceptable to express disparaging remarks about, say, Liverpool or Millwall fans? No. Then whilst I quite agree he has the right to support his players taking ‘the knee’ i don’t think he has the right to decide the reasons for people who don’t or decide the reasons while people voted to leave the EU

Jegs. I understand where you are coming from but I feel people should comment on things connected to their lives. Like it or not taking the knee is very much part of football at this time. As to Brexit, well that affects all of us. It can't be denied that there is a racist element in football and our society in general. However, I agree that it is ridiculous to say that everyone who disagrees with taking the knee or who voted Brexit is a racist.

Broadsword, I accept he has a right to promote his players taking the knee; and I think it’s debatable whether fans should boo (although it seems acceptable to boo individuals or teams for other reasons), but I still think a lot of those who express themselves in this manner are protesting against the BLM organisation. I’m sure there are other more acceptable gestures for the players to express their sentiments against racism. With regards to Southgate I haven’t forgot the penalty miss in the 96 Euros which broke a Nation’s heart. I know that could have happened to any player; but then to go on and profit by it doing a Pizza commercial laughing at it, was unacceptable.

And also states we are in advanced negotiations with Man City to take Harvey Elliott on a years loan deal, sounds solid to me.

Is that because Toney is slinging his hook and will be going to a real club with a real stadium. Any player who signs for you it will be their third choice at least after not being able to secure a contract with a real club some may come good but if they do they will be off ASAP.

Actually I think Brentford owe their promotion to Fulham. Toney was looking to go to a Premiership club when leaving Posh; and if Fulham hadn’t dithered and had taken him straight away instead of telling Posh to wait until the end of the transfer window, there must have been a good chance Fulham would have stayed up and Brentford fail to get promoted.

But my grandson is an ardent Posh fan and I watched Toney for more than a season and he was the best striker I have ever seen since Louis Saha; I could not believe Fulham arsed around instead of taking a punt at 10 mill or less. I would say the average of poor premier league players on a minimum of £3m and the average of the excellent championship players are on half that. So in theory if we can get the overpaid players off our book, we buy championship quality and we have a good manager to bring the best of them, we should be competing in the top 3. But I assume Parker wants a premier league ready squad so we don't yo-yo.

An average is and average, Man C pay their players on average £15m so you can see the average is based on the majority of the clubs playing a lot less. We could not afford a squad of players at PL wages perhaps 3 or 4 at the most. Our PL league player we signed will have relegation clauses that reduces their wages to Championship levels so those players have any sense will have an offer price clause in the contract which gives them a let out to a PL club willing to play the price.

One area in which TK has learnt is that the 10m relegation clause must be activated at least 30 days prior to the championship season starting. Will hopefully help us avoid a Ryan Sess type situation again.

MT' paper talk is dangerous. Surely Tosin will be tempted by the interest from prem clubs? The footballer's agents will be all over this and it will be a natural response to want to better your career and make the most while you can. I still say that there is a danger that Tosin and Robinson could be persuaded to jump ship. If we keep them, the Khans will have done wonders...

Looks like Manchester United might sign Joachim Andersen from under Spurs noses. We could have signed him two seasons ago had any one looked at this site, as I am half Danish and knew how good he was! The Leeds fans don't fancy Harrison Reed, who is I believe essential to hold on to here if we have any chance of putting together a team that will ever be able to keep its Premiership status. No in's and more importantly NO out at the start of this transfer window. Usually its all OUT and then a mad scamper for INs just before the league season starts which give the Manager no chance to obtain any fluency. AGREE?

Nothing will change of everyone blindly rushes into buy their STs, you're only endorsing Parkerball and giving justification to the nincompoop T Khan and the besuited yes men who do the recruiting for him. I'd suggest if you have to buy a ticket wait until the last possible moment which I've always done. Having said that I think it could be argued its in the Khan!s interest to dispense with the team altogether at the cottage, which is a prime piece of real estate as we all know. So not buying a ticket could be just what they'd like. I can envisage in ten years the scenario of traipsing out to a reclaimed landfill in Essex to watch Fulham Park Chokers while greedy owners rub their hands in glee at the coup of making a few hundred million in property developments and freeing up a couple of Premier league 'franchises' to be punted out to the highest bidder.

Oh ye of little foresight. They've invested £500 million in a football team which haemorrhages cash. You'll find most of that is in building costs. The new stand/hotel/apartments/conference centre they're currently building will return all their investment on its own. Add in 300 apartments at £2-£3 million a pop plus any developments they could build on the training grounds. The covenant on CC says it must hold some sort of sporting activity. Nice gym or spa would cover that nicely. Motspur Hotspur anyone?

Paddy if you are planning to build Real estate. Seems pointless to spend small fortune on renewing old real estate before you start that piece of real estate riddled with problems. From local council. Locals who kicked up enough fuss with our last building venture listed buildings issues. Probably. More river issues. Probably park issues. Doubt you’d get 300 property’s on that site with planning consents. Presume they would be flats. Retail value for flats lower. Better you get your original investment back to promised land and 170 mill a year steady income plus
posted by Len (Guest) - Friday 11th June 2021, 2:54 PM

Planning permissions have all been agreed via the new stand in relation to the difficulties with the river etc. which is now an easy and cheap fix to renovate and provide facilities for local residents who mostly see the club as an inconvenient and noisy nuisance. Add in the posh apartments which will enhance and boost local property prices and council tax revenues. I doubt there'll be too much trouble from the council whose hands will be mostly tied anyway with recent planning law changes Harrods village in Barnes has half the footprint of CC and holds around 250 flats in excess of £1 million each and isn't nearly as desirable location wise.

It must be 20-30 years since Bosman ruling means a player can leave at the end of his contract for free. Many people probably forgotten until the Bosman ruling, when a player leaves at the end of his contract, the receiving club must pay a transfer fee otherwise, the player is not allowed to play for them. I was probably too young to remember if that really means the player cannot play for another club until his club say so?? Anyway, the question is if that was good for football? What I see if hyper inflation in player salaries. Player power. And massive spike in costs to watch football. Are these were the intended consequences? Just look at ManU. They are about to give him a £25-30m annual contract. Frankly, he’s been rubbish and never can justify £600k per week. But what options Man U have? He leaves for free next season? No one would buy him today even in his 300k salary. The maths do not add up. Someone mentioned Betts earned 7.5m in the last 3 seasons. I suspect he’s earning that much for the same reason. While he has a value, clubs pay silly money to not lose him for free. All this goes back to the day the court rule in favour for Bosman! My question is if this has been good or bad for football?
Replies
I'm not sure to whom you refer at Man Utd John as you don't state a name but I also think that you are perhaps, not asking the right question. It's not about whether it has been good for football, it's about what is fair and equitable in this day and age for the individuals. If you applied the same pre-Bosman rules to other walks of society we would be headed back to the days of the slave trade. It is PPV TV and our undying thirst for round the clock entertainment that has descended football into a quagmire of high wages and indecent transfer fees in my opinion, not the Bosman ruling.

That is sad Poppy because if renewing season tickets was based upon a particular coach or manager's style of football, 90% of stadiums in all leagues would be empty. Surely, when you invest in a season ticket you are "supporting" a club not setting provisions regarding your personal preferences in team selection and on pitch tactics? Each to their own I guess but I've missed live football and I've missed the banter, the moaning and the groaning but most of all I've missed a season and a half of watching the team I grew up with for the first time in over 45 years or so.

So there have been no fans in stadiums for a season and a half, we have had a world pandemic with multiple lockdowns, we have had a bad season but went up the previous (as is the term Fulhamish) and some of our so called fans are not renewing season tickets because of relegation. I am pretty sure those that aren't, would renew if we had stayed up. Well, I guess it comes down to personal choice but I for one am chomping at the bit to get back to CC and will be renewing mine now. For those that aren't going to, enjoy your sofas or garden centres, your season ticket places will be snapped pretty quickly I think.

If the deal taking Parker to Bournemouth has fallen through then where does that leave Scott now ? It seems the majority of fans didn’t want him before he tried to jump ship , his position now would seem untenable . If Fulham fc fail to hold on to the best of their players what chance is there of us challeneging for the Premiership again. Is that so important anyway, when we know who is going to win. This club cannot pay the sort of transfer fees (randoms) now being demanded by the top players today. I hope Brentford FC do well and admire their stand on how they intended to start games. What Fulham FC need is a couple of years in the Championship to get a settled team tallented enought to complete in the Prem. I am NOT watching the Euros as we really need a proper Manager for the English side, not a Yes man. Mind you why did England not pick Brian Clough or Jack Charlton? Because they were their own man. But we might of gone somewhere with a Great manager like them.
Replies
We had four years in the Championship before being promoted the last time and that worked well - not. In addition, I'm not sure Clough or Charlton could have done anything about Batty, Pearce and Southgate missing pens or Beckham and Rooney being sent off. England had good chances to progress under several Managers but the players fcuked it up!

This is a contract extension not a new purchase; he has been with us for years - thought you knew the u23s Kunye?

Marlon Fossey moved over to the UK from Jersey when he was 11 to take up an opportunity to join the Academy programme after being spotted at the Jersey Festival by Head of Recruitment and Talent ID Malcolm Elias.

Originally an attacking player, he's since been converted into a full-back. A very athletic player who is at national standards for pentathlon events.

Marlon plays for the USA national team at youth level, and in February 2017 helped the U20 USA team to their first ever CONCACAF Championship, playing close to every minute in the tournament in Costa Rica. He holds dual US/UK nationality.

He had a fantastic 2016/17 season for Fulham, making 21 appearances for the Under-23s team and six for the Under-18s. He made six assists, created 29 chances, made 35 tackles and 82 interceptions. As a result he was called up once more for the Under-20 USA team to compete at the World Cup, however had to pull out due to an injury.

Marlon spent half of the 2020/21 season on loan at League One side Shrewsbury Town, where he made seven appearances. He returned to Fulham at the end of the year due to another injury.

Very underwhelmed by Shahid Khans message. They are usually pretty upbeat, but this one was noticeably short, lacking of much enthusiasm and hasn’t picked up on the general feeling of disappointment by the fans. Seemed to be written by someone that has more important things on his mind
Replies
I to agree about Khans lacklustre report, but if he wishes to become a successful chairman of FFC he must be more pro active, yes if he wants to bask in the glory of the club, he must (1) appoint a director of football, (2) employ a competent manager who picks his own staff (3) puts money into the club through the right channels. The way rumors abound about the cherry picking of our team there is undoubtedly some very talented players tactically coached by a complete novice .So I say Mr khan start running our club like you do your very successful business empire. Maintaining the present status quo will see us decent to the level of the Boltons Derbys etc.

I have only just read the chairmans report, and it says absolutely nothing, so I don't why he even bothered. He is either as non plused as we are about both the manager and the playing staff, and doesn't know which way to turn, or is hiding the truth of what's going on behind the scenes at the club, in which case it's just a plain non commital report, and the truth will come out in the fullness of time. Personally I am worried sick about the outcome.

Cairney is basically a billy no mates in this Fulham side and believe me, you need mates on the field of football. Grealish on the other hand knows his shortcomings and he openly admits his faults. John Mcginn is a treasured side-kick for Grealish and it is no secret that Mcginn is not only a cool operator in the Villa squad, he also is a very good friend with Grealish and i guess it improves your game if you continually play, eat, and socialize together. Cairney does not gel with Anguissa or any from the new squad. It is a shame that Loftus Cheek is going back to Chelsea? Could Cairney form a good working partnership with Loftus? We will never know that one. The only reason we are talking about Cairney is that he is wanted by Slavisa which tells another story. Can we see Tom Cairney working and being effective around Parker? I would like to see that one and while we are on the subject, can we get anything out of Mitrovic in Parkers set-up?

Let’s be honest, when a promising young player goes up a level he either adapts, improves or isn’t up to it. Difference is Grealish improved massively Cairney has proved for the second time of asking he clearly isn’t up to it. If he stayed fit might get in a decent championship side but would probably shine in league 1/2. Been using an excuse he’s been injured this season.

The six English clubs who secretly agreed to play in a European Super League (ESL) will pay just over £20m to draw a line under their ensuing row with the Premier League.

Sky News has learnt that the figure - which equates to an average of around £3.5m per club - will be announced by English football's top flight on Wednesday afternoon.

Sources close to the agreement said that it also included the prospect of swingeing penalties for any similar transgression by Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United or Tottenham Hotspur in future.

This figure is a drop in the ocean for these clubs and they pay some of their players similar amounts. It should have been a percentage of their revenue - 10% maybe?
Replies
You could also argue what have they done wrong and why they should be fined? Where's the competitiveness of the six nations Rugby? What about the annual Oxbridge boat race? Forumula one? Cricket Super league? Infact every American league out there are closed leagues. There is a clear pattern the Premier league has also become a closed league when you look at the clubs promoted and relegated. With TV and money we put into the sport, everything has become a franchise, it has become just an entertainment and priority is the bottom line. It is only a matter of a generations before Football will become something like WWE. I am not defending what these clubs have done but I also see very greedy organisations trying to punish someone wanting to take greed to another level!!

You must be having a laugh? Mitro if played to his strength could be the difference between us and Promotion next season. I hope we are not stupid enough to give Mitro away. We paid £16m for Cav, £12m for Knockhaert, £12m for Bobby Reid. Mitro can out score all three next season! Again, if we played to his strength.

Sell him,had he’s best days.Interestingly listened to an interview with Geoff Horsfield recently who openly admitted at only being a decent championship goal scorer and wasn’t up to the premier league standard see Mitro as the same type.Looking at Brentford’s striker Toney they picked him up for around £4 million plus add ons definitely better to invest in youth.

Sometimes he was brilliant for us and sometimes he was crash-bang wallop like wreck it Ralph. Harrison Reed can be as good as jordan henderson which is a good level but not good enough to win the euros, nuff said. Ariola was rightly Fulham player of the season because he showed more consistency than the likes of Reed. Injuries seem to blight his season last term. I hope this is not a regular thing with Reed...

Yes George you would never believe that this insidious wokerism would manifest itself on a bloody football message board, but lo and behold it has, the wokerati move in mysterious ways they back each other up like their part of some Stalinist regime, they would all have been implicit in East Germanys Stasi if they had had the chance not realising as they call everyone else out for being fascists and racists that they themselves have been brainwashed into fascist behaviour cancelling the freedom of speech all the while thinking they were actually being liberal. I'd say most conservative voting right of centre voters in this country are far far more liberal in their thinking than the brainwashed mob of wokerati. Be careful they'll want to burn your books next if they don't like the content.

In cricket Ollie Robinson has been castigated and suspended for something he said when he was 18 years old, over 12 years ago, and by so doing has reduced our bowling attack for the next test match on Thursday. Have you ever heard of anything so stupid in all your life. Isn't it just typical of this country, when we just pounce on some idle remark by a young man many years ago, which helps to reduce our English teams potential. No other country would do that, so why should we.?

Mark Rampakash(if that's how you spell his name)has been on both the TV and the radio, almost saying that Ollie Robinson should be banned for life and it's a good job that Josh Archer and Mo were not in the dressing room, as there would have been hell to play. Why doesn't he keep his unwanted opinions to himself, as it causes more ill feeling, and doesn't help the problem at all. If there were thought police around I'm sure that they would be quite surprised at what the majority of sports fans really thought.

I think a suspension was appropriate pending investigation. Who knows what else could be found? If it was an isolated incident then obviously it should not be allowed to ruin his career. However, Ramprakash is entitled to express his opinion and to call it unwanted just because you disagree with it is no better than the censorship you claim to dispise.

Bettonelli is clearly not good enough a goalkeeper even in the Championship judging from his loan spell at Middlesboro. I would be more worried if the likes of Robinson is sold on to Man City etc. Our current squad is supposed to be the best squad in the Championship apparently? I don't think that we will be as cushty back in this league like some think, and players like Robinson maybe leaving, will make us more threadbare and shorter in quality. We are not Norwich or even as sharp as Norwich who have better recruitment plans and ideas. They came back down and hit the ground running from the get-go. When was the last time that Fulham showed any authority or dominance from the off in any league...

Just watched the England v Netherlands at Euro 96. People will argue its a different era, however i feel that group are far superior than what we have today. With all the advances in every department over the past 25 years, the current crop might be fitter, more technically capable but i think the lul in intrrbatiinal football has helped them to look better thsn they rraly are. The team spirit, the characters and honour to wear the shirt was far prominent then compared to the dower muliti millionaires if today. International was exciting back then

I agree. The game has changed. Technology and statistics are killing the game we knew. How often do you see a wonder goal now? I'd probably Guardiola has ruined the game. He's style of football is great when you have the best players in the world (like Man City) but played by anyone else without the same skills or pace, it is boring! We should know. But every team are under pressure to play in that style. It kills the game we knew! Passion. Loyalty. Fight. Here's a stat to proof my point. Man City walked away with the league this season but did they have one goal featured in the Premier league 10 goals of the season?? NO. Why? because they don't take risks. Statistically they have more chance winning a game by walking the ball (something Wenger recognised early and also almost killed the game) into the goal than any other ways of scoring!!

Managers and stats men have analysed long distance shooting and have reasoned that few goals are scored and in fact more breakaway goals are scored by the opposition from the situation. Sad but absolutely true.

Broadsword, do you not see these actions as racially activated then, because as far as I'm concerned they are doing far more harm than good. Do you believe the world should be run by minorities who with the help of the media try to shut the majority up? Sport has been a great pleasure to me throughout my life but it has now been infiltrated beyond belief. It's nothing new, Tommy Smith and John Carlos made black power salutes at the 1968 Olympics. They were being used by outside influences and today's sportsmen and women are being used exactly the same. The people behind the scenes do not want harmony, the world is an absolute Ness and the media love to keep stirring the pot

NRL. There is an argument that taking the knee has run its course but I am in no doubt that it was a perfectly acceptable form of protest. However, what I object to is you speaking for me and everyone else. I am a white Englishman and I do not feel in any way that taking the knee is an attack on me.

My only issue is racism is not just white on black but white on other race, black on white or yellow, black and white on Muslim, certain people on Jews, American on Asian, etc etc. While the black discrimination awareness is great with the knees etc, I wish there was a movement on all racism. Whatever colour.

Yes taking the knee has become embarrassing now. No wonder the fans are booing they’ve had enough. Politics has no place in sport I want to see a football game not a political statement if it carries on where will it end maybe the players will be forced to give party political broadcasts before a game in the future. As long as it’s for the left of course as apparently no one on the left is racist unless you count their rampant hatred of Jews.

Perhaps it is past its time but at least hopefully it has highlighted the issue of several years of racism and unfortunately on this site as well. He wasn't the incredible hulk but a loose cannon high on drugs who wasn't complying with the Police who asked him to get into the Police car and even offer to put the AC on and open the windows for him, you keep making excuses for him and convince yourself it was because he was black etc etc when in actual fact he was a dangerous convicted felon high on drugs and adrenaline who was resisting arrest. the officer who killed him has been convicted of his murder what more do you want. Personally I think the GF argument is not the point ...this incident was really just the straw that broke the camels back and was used to highlight years of racism. As I said above have a listen to Michael Holding summing it up..NRL....would not hurt to listen. All people should be treated equally and this has not been the case. One other point for some who are referring to years ago, don’t feel aggrieved by your thoughts from years ago. You can’t put yesterday’s thoughts and actions to today’s society so don’t feel guilty. What you can do is be informed and accept change from now on. Hopefully some of the dialogue will help us all to understand.

I can’t imagine a Public company would get much support from shareholders, without some form of forward guidance; likewise, why should we supporters be encouraged to invest in season tickets, without any form of ‘prospectus’ unless we are complete mugs?

Parker has never gotten the best from Cairney, so what do we do with him? Considering his age, it is most likely is a good money move to sell him and get the 10 million. Would the 10 million get invested properly at SW6? Unfortunately, Cairney and Mitrovic are very ineffective for Fulham under Parker and maybe it is best that Parker picks players to replace these two 'if' he knows who he can work with if that makes sense? Leave Tony Khan out of the equation for a minute because he cannot pick his nose.

Most supporters are totally deluded and understand little about football. There was nothing wrong with the players retained, what did you expect? Talk of retaining Andersen is ridiculous. We have a strong Championship squad and with a few additions (which will happen) we will be fine. We do have the issue of Mitrovic to resolve which will be interesting. Parker will stay and hope we recruit this Director of Scouting (sounds like Bear Grylls) sooner rather than later. Relax everyone, enjoy the Euros and then the preparation builds for the new season.

Putney Pete is exactly the sort of spectator you sit near to at the ground who clearly doesn’t even understand the laws of the game and you wonder why he bothers

Its not about the player its more about protecting your assets and if he is under contract then if a club wants him they have to do a deal.
