Just suppose, the owners of FFC had / haven't wanted to say in the Prem at all. They had X amount from being promoted to Prem, had money from TV and will get another payment parachute payment if relegated. I am sure this all adds up to a tidy some, FFC have not spent much the season. Not changing the Manager because he has a 3 year deal, so not paying him offf saving money. Something is going on at FFC. Any other thoughts that may fit situation.

Scott Parker says he accepts and understands why funds won’t be made available to him to make any additions to his squad before the transfer window closes on Monday. Parker denied reports French striker M’Bala Nzola, who has scored nine goals in 13 games in Serie A this season for newly-promoted Spezia, will be on his way to Craven Cottage in a £10m deal, despite the Whites scoring just 15 times all season. Aleksandar Mitrovic and Aboubakar Kamara are the only two recognised strikers at the club, but both have struggled with form and fitness, leaving winger Ivan Cavaleiro as the makeshift forward. ADVERTISING The Portuguese has scored two goals this season – one from the penalty spot – and spurned a good opportunity in Wednesday’s 0-0 draw with fellow strugglers Brighton. However, Parker said it is up to him and his coaching team to find a way to add goals to their new-found defensive solidity which earned them a sixth draw in eight games. “I think it is going to be difficult for us to bring a player in for a number of reasons,” Parker said. “We are living in a world which is uncertain. Where we are and where we are placed (in the league) is uncertain so the financial commitment at the moment is maybe a big ask for us. “That is fine, my main focus at the moment is trying to develop this team, keep improving and we’ll see what happens. “We have 19 games left this season and I have full belief in this team. “As crazy as this sounds, because we have only won two games all year, we are moving in the right direction.” Fulham opted to sign high-profile loanees in the summer like Alphonse Areola, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Joachim Andersen and Ademola Lookman, after a raft of disastrous big-money acquisitions during their ill-fated 2018/19 Premier League campaign that has saddled the club with a bloated squad and a crippling wage bill. PSG goalkeeper Areyola added to his outstanding collection of performances with another big display against Brighton, as did Andersen, whose strong form has coincided with Fulham’s improved defensive displays after he missed the start of the season due to injury. “He has been fantastic for us, it would be unfair just to single him out, but he has been quite incredible really,” Parker said. “He is a top, top player, I am so pleased to have him here. “He works at his craft and is constantly engaged and improving and has been first class.”

There you have it, folks, Mitrovic and Kamara are the only recognized strikers at Fulham. So to be fair on RLC and Cavalirio who just cannot score for peanuts, we shouldn't be too hard on them. Scott Parker is kinda experimenting with our lineups and formations every week now. The problem for me is that Parker has not been expansive enough in his search for that break-through to scoring goals. For instance, we know that Kebano is available and we can try him out in a few games in a striker role, or better still, play Kebano for his freshness. I know what the thoughts are about Kamara, but i still think that playing him in a more central position and giving him instructions to be braver, might just bring out the best in him? Scott Parker is stuck on repeat on a record spinning the same formations a while now. We now know that he is using Cavaleiro has a makeshift striker and RLC and Reid. So we now know that Parker will not blame them or drop them any time soon. We also know officially that Ariola is our number on keeper no question and Robinson is a very important component to our team. Sorry, Bryan is not good enough but he is still a good enough sub if that makes sense. I still say that we should go back to Mitrovic and past form, especially for the WBA game. Mitrovic in the box area and Robinson, Lookman, Cav, RLC, and reaid can deliver more balls in the box area nice and early. This is one part of our game that falls down in my opinion. Deliver balls into a ghost area for Mitrovic to run on too should reap goals. Sometimes a senseless passback, when players are running forward, slows and breaks down the momentum in our play. I still think that we might squeeze a loan striker in before Monday but if not? It's carry on Scott Parker, you are doing a good job apparently...

I remember yesterday many (maybe less) people said next two games do not make or break our season, even if we were to lose both games. I'd disagreed that if we did lose both, we will lose our confidence, it will take a miracle to stay up and this place would be a bloodbath. Well, I am not far wrong. We didn't lose but this place already feel like a wake! at best, knives are being sharpened. The khans are being judged again. The dream of Al-Fayed days have started. The unfortunate truth is we have been waiting over 2 months for our good performance to turn into results! will it ever come?
Replies
The problem I see is that under Parker nothing will change. Other than Robinson coming back in nothing will change. Same team same subs same tactics and same results. Subs will be made around 70 minutes Mitrovic will come on with 10 minutes to go, We will have two or three shots on target and he's already written his after match speech about how we are a young team improving and we deserved better than we got. It's like a repeat of an old film.

Before last night's shoddy performance I was really hoping that we would turn the corner and start winning again, but we played far worse in picking up a lucky point, than we did against Manchester United and Chelsea, when we lost. I don't care what SP or any others say, but in my opinion if we do lose, or draw on Saturday, then our goose will be really and truly cooked, and relegation with follow as sure as night follows day, and another wretched season will be our fate, and I am really fed up with the way our club is being run. We have monied owners, but they are too far away to be involved, and when we go down, they will drop us like a hot potato.

We as Fulham supporters do not expect to win the league and most of us except that as a reality. However most supporters who have supported this club through thick and thin like myself I am 76 will continue to do so because we love our club and are not fair weather supporters who leave when everything is not going well and return and call themselves supporters once the tide turns. I have been supporting Fulham when the only way to see them was to go and watch them play, player's wages were a maximum £20 per week -Managers managed not just coach. Scot Parker said recently he has only one striker, Tony Khan knows this I hope because everyone else does. Yes SP has the first choice defence actually defending so why is it that to survive in the Premier League you have to WIN games not just draw has SP not playing him.. I hear from people on this site and SP that it is a short transfer window ????Fulham have had since last season to identify players and get them!!!!!!other clubs have... Even if some miraculous event occurs and we sign one or two now we have missed the opportunity to collect much needed points........ Why Tony Khan wants to spend money on a new stand and not the team needed to fill it I find puzzling,,,,, perhaps he understands property development rather than team development. When will daddy take his plaything away from him for wasting money on players that are not fit for purpose and a stand that he cant fill.
Replies
Does he watch the same games as me or is my eyesight going?. Parker said about yesterdays game "First half we had real control about us" I saw a lot of clueless play with us giving the ball away, not one shot on target and lucky not to go off three down. He says he was happy with a point but wanted three. Scott, you have to try to score goals and play a hell of a lot better to get three points. I think what he meant to say was god was on our side yesterday and we got more than we deserved.

We need 4-4-2 and a defensive midfielder that supports out centre backs. In transition we leave a huge cap in midfield. That is why we had trouble in keeping possession on the bal in the last 15min of the game. Yesterday we played with two midfielders (anguissa and h.reed) and they struggled tracking back

If we are not careful, we will end up like Wolves. I can remember them spending masses of money modernizing their stadium and then going down for a few seasons. I think Parker has done alright, but I prefer a manager from the outside who has no favourites and starts with a clean sheet. If he pulls off a miracle and we stay up what then? Can you see it improving next season? It's ok getting promotion, but do we want to struggle all the time? You have to appreciate the fact that the Premiership is mostly about money. The one's with the most do well! We have money I know, but how many players would we have got for the money we've spent on the stand.
Replies
We have money but under financial fair play you can only spend so much with the increased capacity and the money it will generate from the corporate side it will allow us to spend more on the squad in the future.

How much will the new stand cost? Irrespective, we certainly need it. So what if we could have spent on new players. Experience has shown that FFC do not often get good players of premier league standard, even then it's on loan not buys. And why waste money on new players from any source when we have such a brilliant coaching staff to mould them into a team. I do hope that I'm wrong but I believe FFC really do prefer the championship, where they can survive on drop down payments plus promotion bonuses every season or two. Sorry but the Khans are in it to make money. Massive expenditure after promotion in 1918 and more thoughtless capital expenditure on 2 championship wingers. Although all purchased with promotion bonus club was left with a huge wages bill. I suggest daddy Khan has told TK, enough is enough. At least they will have a decent stadium for their American Football.

Increased capacity if it is filled. Corporate money if companies would want to spend their money at a failing club as to a progressive one.'''I have to be honest I really do not understand Fair Play when clubs like Barcelona are a Billion pounds in debt and even clubs in the U>K can spend money on wages and player whilst trading in the RED.

Robinson had a three match suspension after his sending off against Chelsea, so he should be back against WBA, thank goodness, but a friend of mine says that the FA Cup matches don't count, and he will miss out on the WBA game. Does anyone know the rules with this regard, as in the past a three match suspension, would always include cup matches, because players would deliberately get themselves cautioned, so that they would miss an unimportant cup match.

He will be eligible to play in the next game

Suspensions. This season, any cautions players receive will be specific to the competition they are playing in at the time. So, a yellow card in an FA Cup game, for instance, would not count towards a suspension in the Premier League.

The new rules are that if a player gets a yellow card it only counts in that competition but for a red card it is across the board league games and cup games so he will be available for Saturday as he has now served his three match ban

There were justified doubts about Parker leading our team in the Premier League, not least his poor start to the season and his inexperience, why should we have a coach learning his trade at our great club? Supporters seem to be divided on Parker and that is understandable. We have now seen a little more of his abilities as a coach and his case I believe becomes less clear. He has pleasantly surprised how he has coached the team into a decent outfit BUT still the results and points tally are woeful. Last nights game was also a big disappointment, when we needed a performance it wasn’t there, but he knows that you could tell from his post match interview. The squad (not first 11) is clearly not good enough and perhaps Parker is not to blame for that, and it seems in this transfer window a decent strong quick striker is not going to happen and that is not Parker’s fault. I do think Parker will become a decent coach but it will be too late to save this season and I think the blame for this lay with TK and not necessarily Parker as he wasn’t given the full toolkit prior to the season. Parker will not be sacked even if we are relegated and keeping him might not be a bad thing, after all what is the alternative? The jury is still out on Parker’s abilities as a coach.
Replies
I do hope we handsomely beat WBA then all the reactionary criticism will change to praise and talk of renaissance. Opinion is a very shallow thing on this site

TTIN opinion might be shallow in your eyes but certainly Joka’s Revenge has refrained from making judgements on a weekly basis. Surely, you need to do the same, if we win against WBA you will be crowing about Parker but then we lose two and you moan about the Parker moaners. We get that you like Parker but if nothing else look at the facts we are in the bottom three with a pitiful points tally, if our fortunes don’t change dramatically we will be relegated.

I just don’t get it why Tony Khan is to blame for everything we only had a very short period of time to prepare our squad for getting back to the premier we are in unprecedented times and it is also not easy signing players in this window I believe we are very fortunate to have the khans behind our club they have backed the management with lots of new players since they have been in charge it is not easy coming up from the championship with Scott and the khans I think we have a good team let’s get behind them

Normally the team that come up through the playoffs is a 50/50 bet to go down. This season it must have been odds on we would go down with so little time to get a team and get it to play like a Premier League team. If we stay up Parker will have achieved that against all the odds. If we go down it will be no more than most people expected before we kicked a ball.

Do you Honestly see us beating WBA Handsomely??? Did you watch the woeful performance yesterday against a side who cant win at home. We were clueless without a shot on target until 56 minutes. The Upset by true Fulham fans is that on this form and with this manager we are in deep deep trouble and very likely to be relegated. We haven't won a premier match since November and are unlikely to score goals even if they gave us seven penalties start. Fans are getting upset for a real reason so unless you can see something I cant you need to get real.

TTIN, defeatist attitude again, we must strife to stay in this league just as many teams have done in the past having been promoted from the Championship. There should be no reason why we can't compete in this league if the Board and Parker get their act together. Supporters can and will rightly moan if they don't.
posted by Joka's Revenge (Guest) - Thursday 28th January 2021, 12:23 PM

Jim, there is a fine line where the blame lay regarding our poor start to the season but certainly some blame must lay with TK. We all knew the squad was light going into the season, the club has scouting networks across most areas and this should have started to identify targets even before we won the play off match. We went into the season despairingly lightweight proclaiming the team that got us promoted would be good enough and making too many changes would not be good, what a load of rubbish that was and was ripped up soon after but the damage was already done and which is why we are in the predicament we are now. How much say Parker had in this debacle we do not know, so in that absence the blame lay with TK, in fact the blame should lay with TK because he is the decision maker.

It is clear that Parker is out of his depth and Mitro should play as only player who looks like scoring a goal with Lookman. Parker is not motivating enough players any other club and he would be sacked. No Fulham player looks like scoring when we play. All teams around us manage a win somewhere , West Brom Sheffield Utd last night even Brighton and Burnley no chance of catching them. We have not won in last 9 games so can’t see it happening, possibly Wedt Brom? Owners simply don’t care as it is obvious we needed strikers months back and still nothing. Five points adrift and whilst everyone says we can do it, still NO WIN NO MATTER WHOWE PLAY. I really hope I’m wrong but even if we win 2 games we simply need all other teams to lose.

A point away to Brighton is a good point in my opinion and keeps us well within touching distance. Three points against West Brom who have lost all their home games 16-0 since Big Sam took over and Newcastle not getting anything at Everton in the early KO will really put the cat among the pigeons!

Cheer up everyone! No one died and the odds on Fulham going down are widening all the time:

Sheffield Utd – 1/14 (1.07)
2.West Brom – 1/10 (1.1)
3.Fulham – 10/11 (1.91)
4.Newcastle – 6/5 (2.20)
5.Brighton – 9/2 (5.5)
6.Burnley – 8/1 (9)
7.Crystal Palace – 10/1 (11)

We have to look at how the opponents see us, and how we play. Our back 5 system with two wide players working wide, has reduced goals against, but we sit very deep, Spurs exposed us when we had a high line. Anguissa is now being targeted as our main playmaker, and is being fouled before he is able to make his runs. Our free kicks usually see a 5 yard sideways pass. Corner kicks and free kicks are defended very well, with an excellent goalkeeper behind. Just how much Robinson is missed has been seen in our last two league matches, the whole team plays two yards higher up the pitch. This system works well against the better teams, who come on to us, as we can break on them so staying in games. Our set pieces our poor, which there is no excuse for, good dead ball delivery can make the difference between staying up and relegation. The issue for us is can we include Mitrovic, in the current set up. He just seems unable to run, find it hard to believe that he has'nt got a long term injury he is so much off the pace. Even so we saw his touch and ability to attract opposistion players to him when on the feild. Still believe he could play deeper protect the ball and play in runners. Parker has pulled this team of loans and bargain buys into a cohesive unit, who are competing well at this level and has my support. Basically will the owners find a new forward within the next 3 days, that can hit the ground running, or do we struggle on with the limited forwards we have.

What happens to us as a team, when we play in a match that we really need to win, and we then embarass ourselves, like tonight. It has happened so many times over the years, and yet when we play sides like Spurs, Chelsea and Manchester United, we play above ourselves, and the luck is against us. I genuinely thought that we would put up a good show tonight and win, but in the end we gained a rather fortunate point. The trouble is, can we get any better and win on Saturday against a dreadful WBA and on BBC TV as well.I must admit I am having my doubts now. Lose that one and all hope will be lost, and a far larger viewing audience will be watching, and that not good.
Replies
We were very lucky to get a draw but could of sneaked it in the end. We were back to the early season form giving the ball away so often in dangerous areas. It proved again we have a fantastic keeper who got us the point. I hope it as one of those games, as we have looked so much better than than for a while.

I’m as disappointed as anybody after tonight’s result, but all this blaming Scott Parker is no use to anyone, feel the players really let him and us down tonight. Expect to get relegated this season unless we go on an amazing run, changing manager at this stage of the season would be a disaster. The only comfort is Newcastle’s form and the fact that Brighton have only won 3 games compared to our 2 is a reality check that we are now half way through the season COYW need to focus on turning West Brom over this weekend.

If there were 2 games this season for us to grab the game by the scruff of the neck and show some real ambition to win wasn’t it tonight and Saturday?? We were second best all evening deserved nothing but somehow hung on Parker’s negative tactics will relegate us if it hadn’t all ready .... 5 at the back. .....no forwards ......just wingers....who can’t finish ...totally frustrating Time for a change I think ....... Parker can go learn his trade somewhere else
Replies
Parker is conceited; he doesn’t recognise his mistakes and correct them. Leaving Mitro on the bench when we can’t score goals is ludicrous. Parker go somewhere else and learn your trade you arrogant git.

Parker if you were any good as a manager you would be helping Mitro hit form but you don’t know how to do it. Poor leadership

We have one recognised goalscorer in our team but Parker and his coaches in their wisdom come up with a system that doesn't suit him. That's fine when other people take on the goalscoring task, only the other people aren't. We look great at times zipping the ball around but that's because the opposition are happy to let us look good when we not really threatening. Think about it, how many times are we testing the goalkeepers? It is time to play to Mitro's strengths for quite honestly we don't have any other capable scorer in the squad. At the beginning of the season we overloaded the squad with midfielders, then the defence was improved. However because the squad is lopsided we can't get any attackers in until we unload some of the dead weight and we have until Monday. So it's play to Mitro's strengths, there isn't an alternative...

We really miss Robinson! We can’t counter in the same way we had been doing. Lookman does not look half as effective. Yes, the way we play we’d need our striker to cover more ground, hence we cannot play Mitro. Instead we play Cav. This so logical but there’s no point having someone running often like a headless chicken. I’d rather have someone who can actually keep the ball and bring other players in, and create havocs in the box. Until we have a striker who can do the job well, we have to play Mitro. I can see he’s got hunger and want to proof Parker wrong.

I'm afraid were going down without fight, don't think we'll beat w.b.a another 0-0 unless the manager let's us attack witch is not his style and it would be nice if they could practice not giving the ball away

Is he targeting wba on Saturday....and then who to hope to pass for the last spot to go down. After Burnleys improved form and win today I am going for Newcastle to go down. Our goal difference is better and their form is worse than us at the moment. Who do you think will join wba and Sheffield?

We can take away many positives from this match, especially with our defence once again keeping a clean sheet despite encouraging Brighton to score. Our attack was sharp and on another day we would have scored two or three goals if we had been allowed to play on whilst Brighton were taking the half time break. So, all in all. I am proud of my team who once again gave 100% but were denied by the conditions and the unsporting attitude of Brighton fielding eleven players when there was no necessity.

What is with RLC against Brighton, as he missed a complete sitter against them at home, then allows Dunk to clear the ball off of the line tonight. One word. Frustrating, but to be honest though neither side looked like a Premier League side, but we still have an outside chance of survival, providing we sign a striker, and play Mitro more, as we looked so much better when he came on.

Ok, here me out guys, I think this soccer squad is doing a quality job even though it's nothing to nothing at the current clock viewing. The squad is making some decent possession maintenance and some decent turnover causes. A little more consistency and productivity in the opponents 33.333% of the field and we could find ourselves watching a winning squad.

Harrison Reid is just a liability tonight. We look like we will lose this one. Seagull was right about what we do with the ball around their area. We do nothing, and they know that we don't score goals. Scott Parker walked straight into this by not ringing the changes needed. We know about Cav, and we know about Reid and so on. Those Brighton defenders might as well be on holiday with nothing out of the ordinary to worry about. I am not saying that Mitrovic is our answer tonight. Mitro would be more of a focal point and an incentive to put more balls into the box. One ball in and 5 ft whatever Reid heads it wide, why worry for Brighton? We are too very familiar and predictable...
