As much as I think he’s been dealt with a sucidal loan contract by Liverpool (he was probably too thick and greedy to realise), which is extremely unfair in its natural (obligation to buy if you play more than 10games means you only have a couple go games to impress!), he should be reminded the card he dealt for Fulham after 10 years nurturing him. Do I want him back? NO! He’s ok but not fantastic especially if it’s going to cost £25-35m! He’s arrogant look and attitude is not right for Fulham. Cuesta has probably only started in half a dozen games (difficult to edge bassey out) in the premier league since he was bought last season and yesterday was probably the only game he fooled around. Up to now his performances and behaviour have been highly considered. Also i am a subjective fan of his, Whilst i agree with your statements I would prefer not just to blame him but seriously accuse UEFA .What he did is standard practice in La Liga. Unsporting and pointless. Similarly the tolerance UK refs with many body contacts in the premier league blatent fouls overseas. We had onother player recently, much more famous, Mitrovic who continuously exagerated fouls. Many players do this and I believe Federations should bet tough and start showing immediate red cards instead of oscars for great acting.

Sometimes on tv, the force isn’t transparent. So the reaction to cover his face is natural. However, I am not about the loud scream, which is a bit of a drama queen. If it wasn’t for the scream, the ref probably wouldn’t stop the match or at least would have waited for a few more seconds. What is a fact is he did get a slap on the face, therefore, you can’t judge him for falling down. Then be disadvantaged, it isn’t fair. This did not happen in a penalty box (and no var) so he should be given the benefit of doubts.

You were poor against a weakened Fulham team so I’d suggest Palace have more to worry about than an isolated incident of someone gaming the ref and I also believe Fulham had more players booked during the game and Palace were awarded more fouls. I don’t care about other teams, certainly not enough to go on another sides forum and whinge but weren’t Palace recently kicked out of Europe for cheating? I’d say that trumps anything during a game.

The game has become so dishonest now and the authorities don't seem to want to do anything about it. The slow motion replays really show these things up, so why not use them retrospectively and punish the culprits for bringing the game into disrepute? I'd also drop the stupid term "simulation" it's plain and simple "Cheating" and should be called as such. In my younger days players like Stan Bowles, Francis Lee and Rodney Marsh(bless him) were labelled divers, now they're all at it. Come on FIFA, UEFA, FA etc clean the game up.

posted by OWEN - Thursday 01st January 2026, 8:39 PM The only thing I know about Emile Smith Rowe is that he made 80 appearances for Arsenal and only scored 12 goals, so presumably our Management team knew what we were getting and at £50 million, that is a lot of money for someone who moves around the pitch a lot slower than say Haynes, Mullery or Danny Murphy and without making anywhere near the contribution. I am glad we did not get Resese Nelson, he has not set the world on fire this season and has again been plagued with injury. We ought to ask Arsenal for some of our money back!

A 26million bid turned down for Ricardo Pepi who is a striker for psv. I think we will go in again with a better offer. Ricardo Daniel Pepi is an American professional soccer player who plays as a striker for Eredivisie club PSV and the United States national team. Pepi had his breakthrough with Major League Soccer club FC Dallas and was named the MLS Young Player of the Year in 2021. He is age nearly 23 by the way and a few clubs around us including West Ham are keen on him. Pepi is still a bit of a gamble and they go along to say that He had just turned 22 and was starting to hit his stride for his new side before a serious knee injury struck, ruling him out for six months. It means Pepi’s game-time is still fragmented as he continues his recovery, but that hasn’t stopped him scoring in five of his last six appearances. Apparently, we are very keen on Pepi still. Sterling, we know about and i guess it is a difference of opinion about Sterling? I don't know? Some say Calvert Lewin was useless along with that Scotts dude.

After the West Ham result, we jumped up into the top half, sitting in 10th, and now we have already slipped into 12th, at least until tomorrow. I know that there is prize money relating to where the in table clubs finish in May, but as far as I'm concerned, every place above 18th, is good enough, although I actually think that we have stopped looking down the table now, and hopefully we are looking up. The future looks quite bright.

We have a small chance of getting him if West Ham is relegated but i imagine that clubs such as Palace Brentford etc will be in the mix. Bowen is only 29 so i expect bigger clubs to take interest also. Although i suspect tha Bowen and career might be influenced strongly by the Rednapps, Lampard family and his wife etc, a ? move to West London might not be fashionable. lol! He would still be a good acquisition along with Mitrovic as Seb suggested. Bowen can play just behind a striker and cut in right-sided if preferred and Mitro is the perfect man to have back in and out of the squad While Muniz matures properly. None of this will happen because we are not that lucky. I don't think West Ham will be relegated because Nuno will have a brain-wizz inspiration to play Callum Wilson up front, lol! Think about this for a moment???!!!

We are a team on the up which will help, but where does Marco think we need improvement as losing three of our best players to the Africa has coincided with or run of wins. We have been looking for a replacement for Mitro but if you remember when we signed him he was a trouble making striker who did not score many goals for Newcastle. We need a similar piece of luck. We have a good defence with very decent deputies in each position, perhaps we need another defensive midfielder and probably another attacking midfielder. If we got good signings as I have suggested would that satisfy Silver or does he want to spend big on established players which we cannot afford. Perhaps what he wants is for us to break the FIFA financial rules, like Man City, to get to the top. They seem to have got away with it, should he try or would the media home in on us as an undeserving nobody breaking the rules.

Wilson should have scored at least two but he didn't. We have the points in the bag and let's be thankful about that. Sometimes the luck goes the other way and sometimes it comes to us. Funny to say this but i also think that Nuno missed a trick by not playing Wilson from the start and this could cost him his job. Woods got him the accolade at Forest yet he is shy about bringing Wilson on. What was he thinking? Last point is, we are not that solid at the back, we still have our frailties, just saying.

I thought that Robinson had a pretty solid game and could have been motm for whipping in those vicious balls in and i think Robbo is near back to his best. For me Bassey is the more solid at centre half and our team looks more of a solid unit at the back with Bassey as centre back with Andersen. Cuenca is a good solid replacement at centre half when no Bassey but we still have a vulnerability at the back. Professional pundits say West Ham were very unlucky to lose and they have a point. Make no mistake we are a weakened squad without Bassey, Iwobi, and Chuka. We just don't have that solid feel at the moment and there is a feeling that we got away and walk out with a win relieved. Bassey has had spells at left back and he had a solid start and career at Rangers when they won the Championship but i think his best spot is at centre half. All centre backs make mistakes and mistakes came with Donkey Toney Adams at Arsenal. It did not stop him from winning meddles and it takes a whole team effort to win the best. Cuenca is a warrior and i think his best defending is at left back replacing Robinson. Cuenca is the best at last minute lunges and let stick out to snuff out danger. Bassey can do all this and his runs like you have picked out are legendary and he can score a few goals too.

In the post match interview he he did appear to be extremely happy. Its quite positive that the question Bassey vs Cuenca has been raised as it underlines that we have two very good central defenders. In fact , these 2 can also both play left back and I would prefer these as an option when Robbo is unavailable with Sess playing further up field where he is far more productive . Personally I go for Cuenca but admit this is a subjective opinion. We are privileged to be discussing which is the better ,hence I do agree with most of your reasoning Owen. At the end of the day Marco is the winner. Depending on who we are up against he can opt for a more “true” defender in Cuenca, whose coolness occasionally reminded me of the great Bobby or Bassey who can scare the living daylights out of many. Both of these two will make the occasional mistake, but these would be less if our midfielders did a better job.

We did just enough to win against a very poor West ham today. With that, we still managed to accumulate 21 from the last 27 available points!! That's very impressive. Just think when we get our 3 super eagles back, we buy a couple of quality players in January and all 11 on-field players clicking, we should be aiming for the top 6. Frankly, apart from Arsenal, Villa and Man City - at the moment, we can give any other teams a good game! COYW - well done!

Referees on the Premier League list, just go out to do their job, with no fear or favour. We could say that Anthony Taylor, always favours us, us we very seldom lose, when he is in the middle.

We beat Burnley but Burnley opened us up a few times and better teams will take advantage. If Broja could finish he would have been a top player and that's why players like him get passed around the circuit. We are always good going forward and we miss a lot of chances and we wouldn't be Fulham if we hit jackpot every time. West Ham want Adama Traore and we would gladly offload him as quick as quick silver but they will know how to use him better than we could which is saying something. Horses for courses is how it is and Traore would probably fit better at West Ham more than he has for us. Not saying we cannot or we won't beat them but they know how to win when they must and they have proven it time after time. We have to tighten up sooner rather than later so let's do it against the Hammers and win convincingly. Burnley was a win but Parker would have been going home thinking if only they could have taken those chances.

posted by peterjeremy - Tuesday 23rd December 2025, 8:51 AM Hand on heart, before the game, I honestly thought, that with the form that Forest were in, I thought that we would do well to get a point, and probably without that fortune, by genuine penalty, a draw was all we would have got. However when Soothsayer forecasting defeat, I was a bit more hopeful ! ! In the end it was a very welcome 3 points, and our defence was superb on the night, and Leno, although not facing many shots, looked back to his old confidence. Up front we are still lacking, and Kevin badly needs a goal or two, but in my humble opinion, I still that he will eventually do a Muniz, and go from a dunce, to a goalscorer, and we miss him badly now. West Ham on Saturday is going to be tough, but we can at least come away with a point this time.

It was the first time I seen him play properly, albeit only 10-15mins. I did not see him showing any technical skills ability, pace or know how. I didn’t see any decent touch or passing. He’s far too raw and yes, he could develop one day into a Muniz but right now, he’s Lucky to even get a loan spell in the championship team. I now understand what Marco is saying when he refuses to play him. But saying all that, he did his job last night when Raul’s battery literally running flat at the end!

You couldn’t really ask for a more obvious example of being kicked in the penalty area, which has but one interpretation. Kevin is a bit difficult to tackle when he’s hopping around like that, not even sure he knows where his feet are going sometimes. Whatever, keep doing it, you’d bank on Raul to convert them. Still disappointed that Kevin hasn’t shown his true potential yet. Hopefully soon he’ll start to click.Thought Cuenca met expectations and Cairney had as positive effect as I can recall. He is not the finished product like King but you wait until he is. We can only afford promising youngers or old players Marco can improve. It would be nice if we could pay £120m for a striker who does not score, but we cant so have to make the best of what we have. Our defence held out very well after we got that soft penalty and stopped Forest from creating anything. Only three team have got more point than us since the start of November, we have won 4 of our last six games and we are only a few points of fourth place. Yesterday two teams played badly but we sneaked a goal a got three points. I remember along time ago Liverpool played very ordinary the whole season but still won the league. Winning is what is important not how you play. We beat Palace and West Ham out whole season looks very different and the moaners on this site will depart.

The Forest defender having failed to tackle Kevin in the penalty area lashed out whilst lying on the ground catching Kevin on the back of the leg. The referee was perfectly positioned to see the kick and immediately awarded a penalty as would any referee. There is no such think as a soft penalty and it annoys me intensely when television pundits say stupid things such as the player was moving away from the goal. The rule states if a foul occurs in the penalty area it is a penalty and for anyone unfamiliar with refereeing it does not matter where the ball is at the time of the incident.

posted by The Time Is Now - Tuesday 23rd December 2025, 4:24 PM John I give Jimenez credence for scoring 11 out of 11 penalties but i say with gritted teeth that Jimenez would not get that much game time in most prem teams with that performance he brings for most weeks. I understand that Muniz is injured and it looks like we have no choice but to put him out there. Sadly at age 34 Jimenez is out on his feet trying to defend, go forward on the break, no pace, and missing chances in the box ect. I am not a manager but from what i have seen of our youngster from Bayern Munich, i think it is worth a gamble of 45 minutes and give Jimenez a rest. How do we define a gamble? On the side of Jimenez he gives his best but a lot of times it simply isn't good enough. A head and a miss too many times in the penalty area is a gamble too far in my opinion. Fortune favours the brave if that's the word and i am sorry, Marco fails with too many gambles. Josh King was a good sub yesterday, and he made an impact and a difference allbeit in minimal time. Rewind back to when Josh King was getting the lion-share of pitch time more than Smith Rowe, that was also a gamble and not much returns from it. Now corrected Smith Rowe is getting more pitch time and he adds more impact and more goals that we need. A gamble with the young 6 ft 6 German would not impact Marco's career and management and if it pays off, we might have a different opinion on recruitment.

Good 3 points. the BBC says: "Since the start of November, only Manchester City (21), Aston Villa (21) and Arsenal (17) have earned more points in the Premier League than Fulham (15). Fulham have also won four of their last six Premier League games (lost two), as many victories as they enjoyed in their previous 15 games (drawn two, lost nine). It doesn't feel like it though does it?

Another three points and again above big 6 teams like spurs again and other sky wonder teams. I’m sure if forest would have won 1-0 it would have been a great result. Great to see Dyche storming off pitch, but wish we would go for 2nd goal and easier win. Another good game by smith-Rowe and Kevin seemed better, also Cuenca solid again.

Seriously guys, i just think Smith Rowe is a really good player and a cut above Josh King. This might sound controversial and fans have different opinions but i really believe that Marco's decisions to take off Smith Rowe in some games have lost us games. Fulham v Man City was a good example of bad decisions from Marco and that decision to take off Rowe for King was a big mistake at 4-5 and that miss from King right at the end showed that. Not saying Smith Rowe would have been in the exact position as King to receive that ball but Rowe has demonstrated numerous times that he has the intelligence and psyche to turn up in those goal opportunity areas, you can't buy or teach that, you just know it. This is why i doubt Marco sometimes because i think he makes rash decisions when under pressure. A Palinha return would suit us i think because he has that drive and surging ability and he can pass a ball along with scoring great goals. I think some of us fans have short memories of Palinha. He is not suited for Bayern Munich or Spurs. Our set-up and being a smaller club suits him better. Yellow cards are an issue, though but we can work with that. Buy Chukweze and chuck a 25 mill offer for Palinha in January and see what happens.

He has been with us in 2024 and bar a couple of games at the start he has been average at best. Until shonky Kevin joined he was our record signing and until recently couldn't get in the starting 11. If that floats your boat then your expectations are very low, and he is this seasons' saviour we are in real trouble.

posted by Jim (Guest) - Sunday 21st December 2025, 9:46 PM I agree, Fred Smith Rowe did not set the world on fire when he first arrived, and our son and heir, Josh King took over the spotlight. Josh quickly made a name for himself with his mazy runs and determination. Not saying Josh was ineffective, he certainly added to some assists and if i remember he scored a good goal in a cup match and add to that a decent goal that should have been a start to his goal-scoring Premier League career but it was chalked off. Maybe if that goal had stood Josh may have gone on to bigger things. This is purely my opinion and i think that Josh King rightly or wrongly got the lion-share of the minutes pitch-time and Smith Rowe received less because he looked lazy and disinterested. Pardon the pun Paddy but the truth is in the pudding. Smith Rowe is the more productive given time on the pitch more so than Josh King and the record shows it. Why on earth would you limit pitch time for your record signing i will never understand and this is one of the reasons for the criticism towards Marco Silva. Anyway, onwards and upwards now and we have a challenging match against Forest which won't be easy. Our defence is severely weakened without the towering presence of Bassey and we need Cuena to do a lot more than last minute lunging stoppers. I wouldn't blame Marco for playing Berg and Lukic together tomorrow night but i think Smith Rowe should be in the mix. Kevin isn't looking too convincing but i think a good talking to from Marco should instil confidence that is missing from his repertoire, he certainly is gifted and he is another one who we should persevere with and play him.

This was the first football game they had seem and became fans from that point. I remember the incredible response from the crowd but it also reminds me of how awful it was to have to stand. I have gladder of the introduction of all seater stadiums than anything else, but wish the idiots that stand when Fulham are anywhere near the opposition penalty would not do it. Tall people can see but us little people like me cannot. Seats create equality as well as comfort.

I can’t ever see Fulham being able to compete at that level. And the financial gap worsens I’m afraid. Cuenca was not simply good he was excellent and I thought ESR continued to improve. As per usual the substitutions were beyond mad, but we expect that. Traore? Please! And to keep feeding King to the wolves will eventually destroy his confidence. If your trying to dig in and not concede anymore you need to strengthen the defence not have two ineffectual players running around contributing nothing.

Something about our former colony that nearly always brings us down. It probably would have been better to play a stronger team before facing Australia and we should have played other games in the Country. There wickets and weather conditions are so different from anywhere else just turning up for the first game and hoping for the best are not seb=nsible tactics. It is like us starting the new season having not played since the end of last season.
