I think you’d struggle to name a club with as many managers as we have prime ministers!! That’s a joke. Starmer is an idiot but am not sure Burnham and other candidates are any better. The problem is Labour Party does not represent growth and when you run out of money, that’s the only thing that can save the economy. To stimulate growth everyone has to take pain and continue to take money from the wealthy and business it fund welfare isn’t the formula. It won’t be popular, if i was Starmer, he should come out with a massive growth plan now. That means, scrap triple-lock and increase income tax by 2p. That would generate over £40bn p.a. to drive growth. Done well in two or three years, returns will be much higher. That’s only way to stop this 15years of stagnation!

SCRAP THE TRIPPLE LOCK!!!??? Are you having a laugh!? Do you know how much state pension is? Well I'll tell you mate; it's less than half the minimum wage. I and many others worked hard and paid tax and NI for 50 years for that derisory amount. How bloody dare you sir!!!

For others: Don't post on here what you know very little about, otherwise known as bullsxxt and I am being polite this morning.

If the OAPs didn’t vote us out of Europe, we might be able to afford the triple lock. If a pensioner was never prudent and didn’t save any money, why should he/she be entitled to a minimum wage? Anyway, it’s not about stopping pensions going up but change the current formulae. The point Is new money has to come from somewhere and thinking taxing more on business and wealthy is enough is very naive and the sums do not add up. Its just to pleased the voters. Growth is the only way out.

JC you’re spouting nonsense. I am an OAP and so are all of my friends and a lot of ex colleagues. Not one of us voted for Brexit. You’re just generalising and I refer you to the previous poster’s comments.

…and just for the record, when you put more money in people’s pockets they spend more and are taxed more (directly and indirectly). The trick is to do that whilst controlling inflation. Reducing income does the exact opposite.

The pensioners of today, only had what they could afford. Didn’t have everything on tick. And worked hard all there lives, if they couldn’t get the job they were qualified for they did Labourer jobs or cleaning. They worked hard. I have friends who have younger relatives who won’t lower their self to do that. I know it’s hard to day . But it’s always been hard. I fed up with hearing the pensioners of today have an easy ride , we’ve earned what we get. I started work at 15 and was never out of work till I retired at 65

Can I also say, I didn't vote for Brexit so that confirms my earlier comment. Also, why assume OAPs like me voted for Brexit??? Besides I thought this was FulhamWeb where we discuss our club, most importantly the arrival of our new Head Coach!!

I worked hard, in all of my 51 years in the film industry. I started work on August 29th 1949, and retired in May 2000, so I have paid my dues in taxes over many years, and I somewhat feel that I am entitled to a decent state pension, which at present is OK, but not overwhelming. I am keeping my head above water, as I invested, in a private pension, plus I have a reasonable company pension, so I will never be poor, but I still have to watch the pennies, as a house is a ever open mouth, when it comes to money.
MST, and I will never ever agree on Brexit, as for me it was a great decision to leave the interfering and money grabbing EU. Unfortunately the conservative government, and now the Labour government, have never used Brexit, as it should have been used, and until Reform form the next government, and hopefully that will be soon, Brexit will not be used as it should have been. The good news all round this morning is that the most unpopular PM in history has resigned, but unfortunately Burnham will be no better, with more and more U turns, and we still at present, have Rachel from accounts as chancellor.

Until we hear some news re new head coach/manager, there’s nothing really to discuss is there? World Cup is underwhelming in my opinion.

You lot are a disgrace. Think of those poor immigrants and those with 8 or 9 children. Who else is going to pay for them if not the taxpayers?

I agree with Handy, those poor unfortunate asylum seekers having to cross that dangerous channel water, why can't we just send our boats over to France and Belguim, to pick these poor devils up, as it must be uncomfortable for them climbing out of their dinghies into the the NLI taxi service. We should of course give them more money to spend, and give them some better houses, even if it means turning out these rotten pensioners, draining our recources with triple lock pensions, and we must stop the nation waving St George Cross flags, as it must upset those people, walking to their mosques.

A soulless, unprincipled shell of a man replaced by a vain, soulless unprincipled shell of a man. What could possibly go wrong? Of course they’ll go after the pensioners, they’re perceived to have few quid and there’s no one left to fleece to pay the benefits of their core voters. Wait till Christmas and see the state of the economy as they whine about the pittance they’ll bring in by scrapping the triple lock. The answer for those of you who can’t be bothered to take any official action or who don’t want to be visited by the thought police is very simple. Withdraw from the social contract. Don’t give blood, don’t donate to charity, don’t volunteer. Let those in receipt of help from the state, help the state that they feed off and see how that goes.

Brexit was a joke never was activated that Tosser Cameron should be in prison for what he did.
As for Starmer gonna smash the gangs and promised us change,we got that it’s worse!
As for Burnham he hasn’t got the balls to stop foreign aid, deport illegal imigrants and stop pip/mental health payments and all the wealthy successful people have left due to tax rises.
There’s a massive black hole that is getting bigger by the day it’s like managing Spurs if not worse!!

Burnham is at least a realist and knows what he has to do. I have a solution to the illegal immigrant problem, let them come in legally then all the raciest who object to them might move somewhere else in the World. It would at least mean that that our fathers and grandfathers who fought against fascists taking over this Country will not see their relations vote a fascist government in.

Europe? we maybe dodged a bullet by leaving and personally, we should stay out of it now. Europe is going more far right and is changing rapidly and i think we are still one of the nicest countries and the envy of some but they won't tell you that. The triple lock should stay and just like wage rises, the lock needs to keep pace or at least try to keep pace with living costs. Everybody has a choice when it comes to extra pensions and if people can't be bothered for whatever reason to put something away for a rainy day, that is their problem. Life is never easy and has never been easy. Everyone cannot or do not have the same talent or levels and some are rich or richer and some poor or poorer and that is the way of things since time began. If your two legs are working and you can move your arms, you can work and i won't add anything to that.

I'm just glad I don't pay any tax or vat anymore, all my work is cash in the hand and I've never been busier. I bought my property under the right to buy so no mortgage thanks to Margaret Thatcher, get 25%discount on my council tax which is one of the cheapest in the country anyway and I rent a room out for 800 quid a month. I drive a diesel car which gives me 70 mpg with 20 quid road tax and 300 quid insurance.
When I decide to pack up working I'll sell my place and move out to the countryside
