The Marco interview on the Fulham website is the worst interview I have seen a manager give before the first match of a season. He sounds unenthusiastic, downbeat and resound to losing. If he continues on this form he will be gone sooner rather than later.

Not sure if it’s expectation management or what, but it hardly inspires the team to outperform. I get the impression that the job was completed last season and there’s nothing left in the tank. Bournemouth and us look and sound like we’re already down, as Parker seems equally downbeat

It's better to be an optimist who gets disappointed than a pessimist who has no hope. I assume you use veet for men because you can't be trusted near razor blades.

Scout and Rm, fans like you make me literally sick, and I really wonder why you bother to support our club, or are you Brentford infiltrator's in disguise, as I have never read such a load of old rubbish before a ball is kicked into the new season. I have a completely different opinion to you on Marco's interview .Would you expect him to say that we are going to completely outplay Liverpool, and we are going to send them home with their tales between their legs. We all know that is most unlikely, but football is a funny game with funny results every single week of the season. I remember Norwich beating Man City 3-2, when nobody gave them a snowballs chance in hell. Marco wasn't being downbeat, he was just being truthful. If our opening game was against Wolves or Leeds, we would mall be fully expecting to win, and a happier interview would have taken place. We will NOT, be relegated this season, far from it, we will do pretty well, so sorry to upset you two absolute miseries. COYW

BJ, you are wasting your time replying to those two downbeat supporters, who are only happy when we lose. They must have been at their most miserable last season when we kept on winning.

Agree Brian. Absolute rubbish. Marco is being straight but not in the slightest unenthusiastic. Indeed he says we can expect a tough season and he has prepared the team for this. The team know it too but they’ve been prepared to go out and play to their strengths, like last season. Looking forward to tomorrow. Liverpool for sure a tough side and one of the worlds best. This is the competition we crave. Good luck lads, most of us are behind you all.

That’s telling me; I really hope I’m ‘disappointed’ by our success

First game watching Fulham was (I think) v Notts County in (I think) 1955, result (I think) 4-3. Happy to have any of this confirmed! My point is that Fulham, today, are playing Liverpool! Get some perspective and enjoy, regardless of the score.

2-1 Fulham is 25-1. 3-3 is 75-1. I've a cheeky fiver on each. Cautious Fulham hitting them in the break or swashbuckling Fulham with Leno punting it upfield and ten players chasing after it? You decide. Enjoy the game whatever happens.

Don’t think Marco was ever blessed with enthusiasm like most managers just doing a well paid job with the predictable outcome but the moneys good and it’s better than working for a living

Paddy think you should have searched for one of your famous outsiders with four legs

CM, if your first game was Fulham v Notts Co at home in 1955, the result was in fact was 1-1, with Arthur Stevens scoring our goal, and our team that day was Black, Chennel, Lawlor, Stapleton, Greenwood, Lowe (E) Barton, Robson, Stevens, Haynes and Mitten. There's a few memories. Beddy Jezzard finished the season with 27 goals, and Johnny Haynes with 19.

In anticipation I might have invested some of my considerable winnings on Ano Syra in the 15:15 at the Curragh at 25-1, now 12s and Blue de Vega at Ascot in the 14:10. Although I in no way want to encourage gambling which destroys lives. Not mine obviously.
