How many times down the years( if ever) have Fulham been in the ascendancy over either Spurs or Man United? In their respective histories Spurs have won 26 major trophies whilst Man U have won 68. Fulham by comparison has won 1. I think sometimes you have to be both realistic and sensible and see the world for what it is. The fact both Spurs and Man U could be said to be at the present time worse than Fulham is merely a snap shot of one season in what 100years? I don’t know but I guess since 1879! Both these teams are huge compared to dear old Fulham( I’m personally happy with that, pot hunter I am not) They will both win a major title before we do. Their grounds are massive, their fan bases are massive, their revenues are massive. Man Us shirts sales are probably greater at £ 150 million than Fulham’s entire turnover, probably around £150- £180 million. So a little common sense and hope that for one season at least in the near future we might be the mouse that roared. For Marco a definite step upon prospects and I’d suspect a risk worth taking. A list of ex Spurs managers does not look like a career buster.

People will make quick remark he has no loyalty. For me, he's been here 4 years - that's an eternality for a manager of a mid-table club. Normally, they are either not good enough or be snapped up very quickly. Also maybe Marco has taken us as far as we can go under his management. So for me, I don't mind how this turns out. If he leaves, I'd congratulate and thank him for the work he's done for Fulham. If he stays, I'd be equally happy.

Because he's never sure where he's going to be playing. He is better at 10 but MS wanted to put ESR in there so moved him to the wing and Pereira in there. That didn't work so he played him on the right wing where he was invisible. We have had too many 10s all season with MS just trying to shove square pegs into round holes.

That's where we gone wrong. We don't have that sort of players in our squad, who are quick and good with their feet. We are too slow. Sess is not the best premier league player in the world, so the fact he stood out for us says something about the team. We need to buy some quality young and quick players.

We lost two of our best players in the summer but still did better. If we lose our best two players this season and finish higher next season that is continuing progress. We are steadily moving toward being a bigger team. To get into Europe this season would have beyond this years expectations, but we were close. We are having a good season and are making steady progress.

The teams around us( above now) are, I’m sorry to say better than us, not by much but better in most areas, committed, hardworking, and each with better scouting units. Whilst we still moan about losing Mitro these teams have all lost key players but have recruited wisely. Brentford lost Toney and Watkins, Brighton sold Cucarella and Trossard, whilst Crystal palace sold Andersen, amongst others, to us and survive. Not to forget Bournemouth sold Solanki to Spurs. Brentford and Bournemouth have progressed far further than we have with far fewer resources and are well run clubs. So yes you are right, we have not fared well.Others appear not to see the wood for the trees but I suspect our collective 145+ years supporting Fulham helps us to see a little more clearly.

DMK, I concur with your comments. I have always been an avid Fulham fan even though I am unable to make the trip any longer. Fulham one week, Fulham Reserves the following week remembering when a crowd of 22,000 turned out to see Johnny’s first game back, in the reserves team, after breaking his leg in the car accident. Often wonder where all our loyal supporters disappeared to following our rapid descent into Divsion 3 in the 90’s when just a few turnstiles were open dealing with the two or three thousand scattered around the ground. The same scenario could easily be repeated if we ever experienced the same fate again. True fans are those who turn up regardless of their team’s performance. Fulham supporters I fear, do not fall into that category. Last season we did well to finish mid-tables our first season back in the top flight and having forecasted we could garner 55 points this season I too am disappointed that we have dropped so many points which could have been avoided. Yes, the odd occasional gripe from me but, in general, I am happy that we are establishing a sound foundation and the outlook can only improve. Yes DMK, you and a handful of other posters are realistic in your aspirations and long may they flourish.

The result that really hurt me, and still does, was losing away at West Ham, when we outplayed them, but gave away the most stupid of goals, plus the last minute goal against the same lot at home, and to me we have been going slowly down hill after that Hammers result away. We lack a real goal scorer, but both Rual and Muniz have had there moments, but not enough. The rumours keep circulating about Marco leaving for Spurs, but only on our website postings, as I have not really seen anything in the press about this happening. In my opinion Marco would be barmy to take the Spurs job, as they are far worse than us, with a really rotten and impatient chairman. Until we hear from either Marco or himself, or the Khans that he is on his way out, just forget it happening, at least for a couple of seasons.

The Premier League is full of teams that have some of the best players in the World playing for them so every match is difficult. In that context we have done well. Take the Villa game if Harry Wilson had been a little fitter he might have hammered those two good chances he had into the net. If we get a really proficient striker in the Summer and a few goal scoring midfielders next season could be even better. Even Manchester City who had acquired a huge budget took a few years to get to the top, we are trying to get to the same level with a much smaller budget. Moaning will not improve us it may just demotivate the players some of them who must read the rubbish we all write.

I think also his competitive spirit and motivation has been sorely missed. 11th/12th is where I have been predicting we would finish and for once it looks like I got something right. In truth all our immediate competition: Brentford, Bournemouth, Brighton and even Palace have better squads than us.Still at the beginning of the season most would have settled ( reluctantly) with 11th. posted by Jj (Guest) - Sunday 04th May 2025, 4:45 PM Despair' you hit the nail on the head and it is very interesting to see the slow decline or sometimes not so sensible or astute substitution by Marco impacts our results and chances to get back into the game. An interesting comparison is the team of Jose Mourinho and Rui Faria at Chelsea and interestingly, not many football people connected the dots at the time and when they did i think Mourinho denied the importance of the split. Mourinho and Faria won 34 titles together and Faria is Portuguese by the way. Regardless of the departure of Boa Morte' Marco has still or will still take us further than we ever been in history. Another win on Saturday i believe gives us a record points tally in our history and that is phenomenal and Marco Silva will go down in history as the greatest Fulham manager. The strange thing is that we could have done much more and it is well documented on here about the points we drop etc ect...

He is a very talented lad who is being underrated at the moment, and we will see a far better player next season, when he has really settled in. Most of us, couldn't wait to get shot of Muniz, saying how useless he was, and now we are getting to the stage, like yesterday, that they are saying we missed Muniz terribly. Talk about fickle fans, Every club has them, and we have more than our fair share. Why don't you get behind our team instead of knocking them as soon as we lose a match. Last Week when we beat Southampton, we were going to storm Europe, and this weekend we unluckily lose to Villa, we are playing above on occasions, with some really good wins, but then again, we have let ourselves down against teams that we should have beaten easily. This has been a live and learn season, and I will expect to see a big improvement next season.

When compared to a squad such as Brentford with a tantalising front strike force of Mbuemo and Wissa, we are nowhere near them. Also our manager is too egotistical. Hopefully more die hard council estate rats like me can show some proper support to the mighty Fulham and wave the clappers proud at the mighty fortress that Craven Cottage is. One more note, the pies at half time have gone up to extortionate prices which has angered me a lot because how else can i stuff my fat face at half time when a pie costs 8 pounds. When Villa attacked it was with pace and conviction as opposed to our slow and ponderous build ups which invariably fizzled out. On s number of occasions I counted between 10 to 20 passes, reminiscent of Parkerball, without anyone having an effective shot on goal. We must stop all the pussyfooting around and start to realise that we must score goals to win games. Their keeper had very little to do whereas Leno was constantly called into action. Unfortunately, our forwards remained toothless with Raul hardly ever getting into the game. Marco has to resolve this problem and consider it might be time to blood one or two youngster from the under 21 side. I felt both sad and disappointed that once again we failed to score.

Remember there is an injury to Muniz. It should have been Sessegnon, and Smith Rowe i there from the start. I think Rowe had a decent game last week and a goal when he came on. To round up a bad day at the office Marco takes of Sessegnon the only player capable of scoring for what? Sess was unlucky with the hand ball. Some of our players just can't operate and be effective in tight areas like in the box. Marco Silva and his tactics not good today. None of our strikers are that brilliant and we should have used Vinicius even though he will be gone this summer...

What worries me most of all about the transfer rumours, and in some cases, naming so called wanted players, is that players that are in our squad now, are thinking, why should I do my utmost, when I will obviously be sent packing, come June. No names no pack drill, but I can think of a couple who might be thinking like this, and it can't be a very nice feeling. It's like asking to work hard in the office, knowing that you will be given your marching orders in the summer. Well I wouldn't be too bothered about putting 100 per cent into my job.

When our players attempt a shot from outside the box it could go anywhere. The players must learn to shoot from distance as it is virtually impossible for them to score when in the penalty area as they are, in general, too slow which allows teams to get everyone behind the ball and block any attempt shots. If only we could find a replacement for Mitrovic.

My point much more to do with more long distance passing and shooting. MacAllister scored for Liverpool with a blistering shot against us recently, but I can only think of Palhina (not with us now, of course) scoring for us like that. But it’s also worth mentioning that if defenders fear the long shot, it loosens up their defence as they charge out, providing gaps, rebounds and opportunities for the likes of Muniz. Lukic and Sander Berge have proved to be stout players and passers in our midfield, but neither look really likely to score.

I would start with him every game and take him off if he is not succeeding. Why does Marco nearly wait until the 65th minute to make substitutions. He must realise at times that a player is off his game after 20 minutes. Make the substitution them do not wait hoping he will reach your expectations.

The Sessegnon goal was a slightly difficult one to execute and he knew what he was doing by putting his head in those areas. It takes somebody to conjure up something special and to win that game Sess delivered again, otherwise, it would have been 1-1. Sessegnon was never the all round left back until he decided to bulk up a bit and now he is stronger and fitter. Robinson is a different type of left back and Robbo tends to do his marauding strictly down that left side and really we shouldn't compare him to Sess because we need the use of both. In my days of playing football at right back it was a no-no to drift that far upfield and to even swop sides, the manager would go nuts. Sess is such a good utility player and i think if Marco restricts him, we wouldn't have his important goals. I think we still need some magic from the likes of Pereira, Wilson, and Cairney. When was the last time they conjured up a dead ball special that was on target? Just think on Trent Alexander at Liverpool. We know if we give away free kicks around the box area to them, we will get hammered by a free kick from Trent. None of the three named Fulham players are much threat. I should say that if Pereira would let either Wilson or Cairney take a few pops at goal we might strike gold. Sometimes we have to take the heat of the strikers and we need more dimensions of threats on goal. Apart from dead-ball free kicks and corners we don't have much luck but Jimenez wasted enough chances in the Southampton game, sadly to say. Our game looks painful to watch sometimes when we hit brick walls but we do get chances and Jimenez didn't have a good day in that game...

Im not going to moan but im seriously concerned that the team is failing to perform since the palace defeat. I am watching basically the same players that were givin us enormous satisfaction not that long ago yet lately there is much lack of understanding between them. Today we goy away with it ,I think weve been owed a bit of luck for some time now. I couldnt understand the starting line up let alone what we were trying to play at or to. In summary, I dont understand whats gone wrong.

Last Sunday we threw away 3 points against Chelsea, by conceding 2 late goals, this week the reverse happens to us, and we are once again back on course. The downer, is that so far Palace are beating Villa at Wembley at HT. Not that anyone outside Sussex could care less, but Horsham have just won the Isthmiam Premier League, so a pretty good day all round, so far.

He always takes defeats, and even draws, on slights of his managerial prowess, and is always determined to either win, or put up a good performance in the next game. Once again, and it is just my opinion, unless there is an upcoming argument with the Khans about new signings, or maybe something else, Marco seems determined to put Fulham on the map, as a permanent Premier League team, that will challenge for something for a change. We of course, still have a slight outside chance of a European spot next season. Personally I will be devastated if he did leave, and would even consider not renewing my ST. but it ain't going to happen.

He is still fast, can scores goals and has a wonderful positional sense which often creates goals out of thin air. I am a great admirer and for one season he would be ideal and could then could pass on his skills in a coaching capacity.
