There’s a new tactic that’s straight from the Fulham training ground. Marco tells them that, instead of aiming crosses at our players, fire them at the defenders. It will be such a surprise it’s bound to canon off them into their goal. It’s working a treat!

I bet it’s a while before Josh King tries another pass across his penalty area like that. I heard a story on a podcast from a former Notts Forest player that Brian Clough actually fined a player who tried a similar cross field pass. Sent the fine in writing: ‘For attempting to pass the ball across ….. fined the sum of ….’

You play the most talented youngster and he is more likely to make a mistake than more experienced players who think quicker. I am sure Marco knows that and will not be fining King but he may joke about it.

I agree, Leno always puts our defenders under unnecessary pressure, he very rarely boots or throws the ball long. He also is slow to deliver the ball with his dithering about. Some may say that's how Silva wants to play out from the back, but sometimes you have to use your brain to assess the situation and just clear it upfield.

Last year, we start games really strong but peter out in the last 15mins or so and lost many points in the process. We'd be in Europe if games finished at the 85mins last season. That was also the case with the season - we started strong but losing 5 of the last 7 games and probably stopped performing from March. Intentionally or un-intentionally, Marco has changed his strategy this season. You could argue we finished each of the 5 games so far with more quality on the field than we start, and the stats back that with us scoring so many late goals. We bring on the big hitters late on in the game when the oppositions are tired. This strategy is clearly working so far. If we can do the same for the season, we will break many more records that Marco hinted.

Alright, alright, so there’s an opportunity for a bit of joking around. The internet encourages that sort of thing, and I’ve done my fair share. But what about ‘standing up to the bullies’? Standing up throughout the game generally really involves only a selfish minority in the first rows, but it then prompts all the rows behind to have to stand as well. There were older people who actually saw nothing of Saturday’s game, since standing for extended periods for them proves to be too uncomfortable. I hunted round the club website (and followed Paddy O’Doors advice), eventually finding a suitable address. FFC promptly kindly replied saying ‘…. I’m sorry to hear that you had a disappointing experience at Saturdays match. We appreciate and value your feedback on this matter that you have raised. I have passed your email on to the relevant teams for consideration in possible future changes.’ Now the internet is providing opportunities to ’stand up’ as well, and follow up. I do realise that there are ‘true fans’ who do stand at every game (at the rear of the Hammersmith End; the Putney ‘away’ end), and the club tries to be both realistic and accommodating. But the truth is that the ground regulations and legal obligations are very clear, and the best the club can do is to encourage those in pitch side seats to buy their tickets for another part of the ground. (MST - you are just a season ticket holder? For the work you have to do in keeping a minority of these true fans’ in line, you deserve more.)

Liverpool, Man City and Arsenal will fight out the top three places, Spurs and Chelsea flatter to deceive and the rest are much of a muchness. We have a solid defence a decent midfield and strikers who need the midfielders to score most of the goals. Fourth place is up for grabs and we must have a decent chance if we can find consistency and we supporters can give the ferocity of support we gave last night.

The most important part of this season, is similar to other seasons, and that is to get to 38 points and safety ASAP, and at this moment, nothing else really matters, so win 10 more matches, then sit back and enjoy the rest of the season after that.

TTIN agree with you. We could have been 2nd if we were not robbed of a goal at Chelsea. Also, apart from maybe the Brighton game, we have been dominant so far this season. We just need to keep picking up points against teams in the bottle half of the table, otherwise, it will be like last season, a season of if only! I don’t think we will finish in the top 4 - we still lack quality in some areas. However, top 6 should definitely be a target. My biggest concern is losing Marco mid season. We have West Ham, Forest (again), Man U, maybe even Newcastle and Villa could be looking for a new manager in the next few weeks/months. But looking good!

We outplayed Man U and should have beaten them two. last season we had lots of games we should have won. We must win from winning position consistently that is the key.

As a long standing Fulham supporter, and looking ahead to this Sunday's match with Villa, it is inbred into my brain, that as Villa have not won a game this season, and only scored one goal, we will be the sacrificial lamb, and they will have their first win of the season against us. On all known form we should have a comfortable win against them, but will we, or will this be the usual Fulhamish result, or are those days now behind us ?

Would you rather see Villa won or the draw they had yesterday? I'd definitely prefer the draw. Their manager is taking a massive bet calling his players lazy. I think something is going on there and he's losing the dressing room. I am optimistic we can continue our winning run.

No worries Craven. Ive done away with the Fulhamish spell whereby we make ordinary teams look good. This season we will make top teams look mediocre and be the top team taking the 3 points in injury time.

Curses and all bad words upon those in the lower seats in the Hammersmith End block H4, whose selfish behaviour last night of standing throughout the entire game forced the whole of H4 to stand. MST, to whom in the ground management might I write to protest at the ground management’s inability to enforce ground legal safety rules? I approached a steward who retorted that he had had a loudspeaker request broadcasted, but I recall that had no effect. After that he claimed he was powerless. I told him he may as well resign his job then (but of course he would prefer to be paid and watch the game).

I for one, and I'm sure a good many others, were so sorry to see Sess leaving us for Spurs, but the price and his ambition at the time was probably right. However, I watched him several times, when he was playing for Spurs, and he never ever looked comfortable, and then he was unlucky with a few injuries, and he was never ever going to stay there. We had the bargain of the season, when we managed to get him back on a free, and now he is back to then talented youngster that we had originally, and we are really grateful to that, with no worries when Jedi isn't fit, in fact I hate to say this, as Jedi is a great player, but we have hardly missed him. Marco, now has a lovely problem, when it comes to leaving any of our players out, or even sitting on the bench, as we don't honestly have any poor players in our squad, apart from possibly our second goalkeeper. and how many times over the years, could we honestly say that. COYW.

Lol' i was just about to write one about left backs and which one is better of the two? We are truely fortunate to have Robinson and now Sessegnon who is giving us fantastic service. Sess is all we could dream of in a left back. His defending is a whole improvement from the boy who burst on the scene from the Slavisa days. Sessegnon is so much bulkier and stronger now and he seems to have radar tech built into his DNA. Those runs and jaunts upfield is purposeful and productive and just take a look at that delivery again for that own goal, they had to defend it and it was unfortunate for them. We had two lined up to take that ball by the way and i think their defender was aware of it. Robinson is all about raw speed and he does provide assists but i say that Sessegnon is a more all rounder and don't forget Sess will chip in with goals too. Marco has a headache for sure but all good and we will get injuries along the way. How do we keep everyone happy is another problem and the likes of Harry Wilson will not get 90 minute game-time every week. Wilson by the way' is looking to get into the Wales squad and that is one reason why a move away is still on the cards for Wilson, we can't please every one of them...

And Sess has an eye for goal, perhaps when Jedi comes back we can keep playing Sess as a wing half or something.

We now seem to have at least two very good players in each position, except striker we have none. I hope the tall 18 year old striker we have acquired appears on Tuesday and impresses. Manchester City striker who keeps breaking records was 16 when he joined Man C. So it is class not age that count. The Fulham players all know good King and the best think about yesterdays match, was when he made the mistake that gave Brentford a goal all the players came to comfort him as they know how good he is. King played as was well as he could from that point.

Three teams have visited us this season in the league and all three have been poor. Brentford particularly like Leeds are a poor quality team and will struggle this season. Seeing Leeds destroy Wolves yesterday seem to suggest they will be very poor as well. Where is the quality in the Premier League, btw we were better yesterday against a poor team but we don’t move the ball quickly enough in attacking positions. And, we need Robinson back, badly missed. And, let’s give Berge credit a real workhorse who goes under the radar because of the type of work he does. Those who know football understand how valued he is by his team mates.
Replies
Mr Angry, sometimes you give credit to where credit is due and why not our team Fulham? Yes Brentford are not the strongest this season for obvious reasons but we can argue the same about the likes of Brighton, Palace etc who sell some of their best players season after season. Has it been any different? Soothsayer gave a prediction in favour of a Brentford win away to a Fulham side unchanged with no injuries and no cup game until the coming week and i think it was an easy one to predict in favour of Fulham who i still think are one of the strongest sides in this prem right now. Good on you for picking out Berge as a workhorse and sometimes i miss little details about him but on a bad day he will stick out. We need Robinson back i agree, he is our number one left back but we have a great sub in Sessegnon who has been excellent so far this season and we have no emergency in the left back position. Infact we could say that in the absence of Robinson, Sess has not only stepped up to the plate, he also has provided quality assists in forward areas to make goals and sometimes Robinson falls down in his offensive duties. Sometimes you need to give credit to our team Fulham and our excellent Marco Silva who is our very best manager in our history and he demonstrates the hunger to still continue with Fulham after being appointed in July 2021. Many don't last long these days...

Mr Angry, if we beat Liverpool 5-0, you would probably still say that it is because, it's a poor Premier League, and not that Fulham were really good. Looking at our opening fixtures, most of us didn't expect too many points, in fact it looked like we would be struggling, but here we are, sitting comfortably in 7th in the table, and if it wasn't for some awful refereeing, and VAR, we would have been unbeaten so far. So Mr Angry, stop being so downbeat after every game. Cheer up.

Think ffc play two styles slow build up if teams put everyone behind the ball if need be pace from all angles generally in the later stages when gaps appear hence our high success rate with subs must admit I prefer when we play brentford to run at them as the game wore on we chased everything down forcing there keeper to make hasty clearance s by the way you know what you are going to get from little bees long balls long throws corners under the bar that apart not a lot going for them unfortunatley think there style will see them survive JUST !!

Is an accidental foul a foul now. When Muniz turned and balanced himself the back of his arm accidently hit a Brentford face. Muniz had his back to him so it was not deliberate or meant so why is it a foul.

Of course fouls don't need to be intentional! They never have been and most fouls are unintentional - very few players go out to foul anyone, it's just mistiming or an accidental protruding limb. Don't pay attention to ex-playing pundits; most don't even know the laws of the game ;0)

Lots of things to like about today and our attitude and spirit was spot on! Be honest, how many fans were uttering a few choice words when Josh King who had no business coming back there to then make a suicide pass that gave them an undeserved lead? Josh was well disappointed with himself and our day could have gone down like a lead ballon but fair play to our lads they put an arm around Josh and after all that we clicked up a gear and went at Brentford with great gusto and purpose. Even before their fortunate goal and opportunity, we dominated possession and looked like the team on top. Iwobi was motm and rightly so with his goal and that peach of a pass to Harry Wilson who held and timed his run to perfection. I am sorry i questioned if Wilson can do a full 90-minute shift, he was really good today and i think all our team played well. Muniz must be getting a little frustrated about his misfortunes and once again his excellent volleyed goal was chalked out because of a unfortunate foal, maybe the bloody nose swayed the referee. There were lots to like about this Fulham squad today and lots to like about Josh King and attitude after his giveaway goal, Josh rolled his sleeves after that mistake and drove forward while we turned the gears up. Marco obviously drilled it into our guys about Brentford's long throws from anywhere near the corner flags and the stats do not lie, Brentford are the most successful at throw-ins and Marco is once again a master of details. Funny to say this but after our late-late recruitment in the transfer period when most thought we had a terrible window, we now look decent and with a strong bench are we destined to break even more records in points this season? Kevin didn't show his best today after his cameo but he will be a big player for us and i am still waiting with bated breath for our 6ft 4 inch striker Jonah K Asare to make his debut and what about Samuel Chukwueze our spare right winger? Todays first eleven is supposed to be our best including Josh King but i dispute that? Maybe i should leave the thinking to our master and commander, Marco Silva who is maybe our best manager in Fulham history.

Over the years and even in more recent times I’ve seen dozens of Fulham players make the same cross field pass without looking behind then. Tosin did it every week for Christssake. What footballer doesn’t make unforced errors? Some you get punished, some you don’t.

The thing that impressed me most was the crowd which was loud and enthusiastic to level I cannot remember. That was worth a goal. If we could raise the roof in that way every game we would win most of them. The players are always stressing what support means to them so let's give it to them in a big way every minute we play.

This one in one out, is a bigger joke,,than Starmer himself. I watched today's press conference, and watching Slimy Starmer, wanted to make me squirm, as he looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights, and pathetically kept touching President Trump on the arm, as if they were friends. Trump is a great actor, and was pretending that him and Mr Slimy were friends, when in actual fact he doesn't like him, and although I really do think that he was really pleased to meet the King and Queen, and he refrained from being really rude to Starmer at the conference, but he did make two or three below the best digs. Starmer just has to go.

Starmer is an embarrassment, and which ever way you vote, anybody with an once of sense, will know that Starmer thinks more of helping these criminals that cross the channel, then helping his own citizens, who are just as desperate as these migrants, when they are struggling with the cost of living. I'm no great fan of Nigel Farage himself, but he, along with his Reform Party, are this country's only hope of our recovery from this desperate mess Starmer and Reeves from accounts have put us in. They have just got to go, and soon.

I am talking about something like an old magistrate court, no jury and no lawyers just a magistrate deciding on the basis of reasonable evidence and no appeal. Interestingly a number of Afghans who got a permament residency in the Uk recently have been going back home to Afghanistan for holidays, apparently which makes a mockery of why they wanted away from the Taliban in the first place. The Tories were right to sweep this mess under the carpet in the first place and i question if England is compatible and the right place for a lot of these people who do not and will not fit in to British society. I am not a fan of Trump because he has emboldened Putin and that Ukraine war, he should have enforced sanctions on Russia a long time ago and no other American President has friendled up to the Russians ever. Trump has one quality thing about him that has gone from our society now more than ever and that is the big stick and yes sometimes over the top in some ways but it is necessary in Leaders of a country. We have rules and what a leader says goes and it is a proven and right biblically. Our system has gone too far woke and our society is falling apart and we have lost and are losing everything we adere to now more than ever. The Conservatives are the most fair balanced and more learned in financial affairs and they have proven that over a hundred years. The racist agenda about the Conservatives is cleverly brought into our society by people who are in our system only to gain advantage for their own selves and they have no interest or love for this country. They are in our courts councils etc, they have ruined this country sadly...

Interesting post from Brain Doctor about service and supply, which we haven't been very good at for a long time now. Muniz gets a lot of stick for not being in the right place at the right time and for not scoring goals with the very limited chances he gets. I agree that a guilt edged pass to Kevin from Sessegnon to Lukic who is not the best operator to pull off a over-head kick to score a goal, would have best seen Muniz in that space and time to score a goal. DMK makes some good points about not being able to break teams down. We have enough good footballers to do these skill sets required but for various reasons we are not doing it enough. Every team now is clued up about every other team and even the likes of Leeds back up from the Championship know that they cannot play rush and open football like back in the Bielsa days. Leeds and Farke play a more tight game now but they suffer through the lack of recruitment for a good striker and remember they are very restricted in how much they can spend and we know about stuff like this. We are not going to walk through teams and free-score goals in this league, it is tough and we need the tools to do that. We were crying out for someone like Kevin who burst on the scene and he did more damage in the space of 10-15 minutes to break down a stubborn Leeds defence. That ball in for Lukic was genius and we need him to do more of that. The ball from Sessegnon back to Kevin to release a curling shot that could have been created from Willian was brilliant. A good Brazilian team can break down teams because they all think as one and they know each others game . Muniz is not getting enough quality balls to complement his game and goal numbers until now and i think that the appointment of Kevin will make Marko's job easier and bring out the best in Sessegnon. Iwobi didn't have a good game but on his day he is very good and honestly, i see what a lot of football people see, and they say Fulham are decent. I have no fear about Brentford and looking forward to the game.
Replies
Breaking teams down is difficult. Very difficult. Look at Liverpool vs Burnley game. When a team plays low block with two lines of 5 players inside the own third, you need to be amazing quick, accurate and powerful to create something. To be honest, unlikely Burnley, I thought Leeds were relatively open and wasn't just sitting back. Just all the players were well drilled to retracted back to their position very quickly.

I have watched a few Championship matches this season and the main difference are the wingers. The PL wingers when they get the ball try to run forward and get a cross or a forward pass into the box. The Championship wingers usually pass the ball sideways or from whence it came. Our wingers should remember that as Kiven showed you how, the sooner and more you get the ball into the box the more likely you are to score.

It worries me that we have still to start scoring goals on a regular basis. Now Brentford is going to be a different game altogether but we have home advantage. We have to start playing in the oppositions half and stop being shy of looking up and taking a shot when we can see the goal. We have the drawback of being an old team and still have a small squad. I agree with Marco we need another good midfielder.

It is very frustrating when teams defend keeping everyone one behind the ball, which we find very hard to break down. What annoys me is some fans seem to think it’s only a Fulham problem. I’ve watched the England team have that problem for years. And Liverpool yesterday with a much more costly team than us and Premiership champions had great trouble breaking down Burnley and just as lucky as us to get late goal
Replies
DMK, I was going to make a posting on here that was almost word for word, the same as yours, so obviously I totally agree with your comments. I watch a lot of football on the TV, and a lot of them are good for insomniacs, and yesterday's Burnley v Liverpool match, was a real example. Neither team would have scored if they had played till Christmas, but then lucky Liverpool had that stupid penalty. Burnley may avoid the drop, but I can see a lot of 0-0 results coming, as they have hardly anyone who can actually score. Our match with Leeds was pretty boring as well, and I almost felt like going home at HT. I do hope that our game with Brentford will be higher in entertainment value. This game will be no push over for us, although we usually find a way to beat them and at least our squad will have a weeks rest and training together, with hopefully a better outcome.

Get the ball forward quickly and try balls over the top, these are the main counters to packed defences. Our slow passing build up allows the opposition to all get in their players in their prescribed positions. Long throws are back in fashion and is another counter to tight defending.

That the Summer Transfer window be closed at least 7 days prior to the start of the new season. That VAR be abandoned, as this was only introduced when players and coaches could not accept to play by the Ref's Whistle and this has now only been replaced by VAR which now in many cases ruins the spectical and flow of the modern game. That at no time, there be allowed any more than 3 subsitutes, as I remeber when there were no subsitutes. These changes being made take time and allow Managers and coaches to gee up their other players if losing and change things around on the field.

The new players have only been here a few weeks and have had no pre-season game and only really just met the manager and the rest of the squad and need to fully understand what is expected. Can you think of many new jobs you arrive and instantly know all the people you need to know and what you are expected to do straight away.

No different to the other players match day squads all get used normally now Some players can last others need to be subbed don’t forget we have the best return on subbing players. Goal wise

Look at all the other matches in th PL, very few of the new players started, most came on a subs as that is the sensible and logical thing to do. The last ten minutes of a match is always the best time to bring on impact attackers when the defence is tiring especially ones the opposition have not seen before.

Leeds are not a poor team, they have just grown up a little bit more than the last time up in the prem. Farke is learning the art that say's, if you don't win, don't lose. They settled into the game a lot quicker than we did and maybe the international break didn't do us any good or favours. Football can be a cruel game and unfortunately, the own goal was painful and Daniel Farke felt the full force when conceding with minutes to go. They say the good luck and bad equals out over a season and after two games our luck turned for the better. Our in the house Brazilian Kevin lightened up a dull game and what a show and a treat we had for a good ten minutes. This guy has everything in his arsenal and his dribbling skills look exceptional and he was unlucky with a bending shot from a return pass from Sessegnon,it reminded me of Willian cutting in on his right foot but the truth is that Kevin has demonstrated there is much more in his locker that Willian showed us. I hope Silva doesn't treat him with kid gloves, Kevin is used to playing full blooded games. Our only problem is we need a more together Fulham and this will come with more games. Sessegnon is very important as a link-up as he demonstrated with that return pass to Kevin for his curling shot and Sess is a lot more stronger and solid as a left back now. Sessegnon is a fantastic substitute for the injured Robinson and its a pity some fans don't notice. Smith Rowe is a good signing and over time we will see the best from him, he was unlucky not to score today. Its a shame that some of our fans only see the negatives from a dull game and not the important positives. We were crying out for a special player and a link up man and i never dreamed that we would get anyone in our late late window but hey' i think we now have one in Kevin. Is there anybody out there who would like to debate and talk about Dribblers past and present? This guy Kevin could turn out to be the best that has come to Fulham and for what we have seen of him in ten minutes is a sign to feel optimistic. Brentford up next, i can't wait...

Great post Owen. Kevin looked class, always preferred Sessegnon as a winger but is stronger and playing very well at left back, and read game so well. Some players looked jaded after international break, but kept at it very important win

Smith Rowe looked as if he eats and drinks rather to much and is not keen on the gym. A fully fit and committed Smith Rowe would be a very good player. Like most people I was impressed with Kevin's 15 minutes and look forward to him becoming a regular in the team and see if he can improve our finishing as he can obviously shoot very well. I noticed Marco's comment about him being very young, be obvious dubious about younger players. He have signed a very promising 18 year old striker, get him in the squad and give him a try as our two other strikers do not cut it.

Smith Rowe hit the post with a perfectly timed skill and run and he looked bang on. He is not the tallest but he will be very useful when Marco eventually works out who his best attacking options are. I think we have plenty in decent options with the likes of Sessegnon Kevin Rowe Iwobi and Muniz in the mix. I don't always agree with Marco's best starting options and i still think Harry is better coming on as a sub. Daniel Farke say's he knows the quality of Kevin and it is obvious that he and Leeds looked at him but Farke say's they could not afford the 34m we paid for Kevin. Interestingly Chris Sutton and Paul Merson put us down for a win at home to Leeds because we apparently have more quality in our squad and on the bench which is interesting because some Fulham fans still think we don't have a good enough squad. I think Smith Rowe will have one of his best seasons now because he no longer is our most expensive player which will take the pressure off. Some players can handle a big money move better than others and Kevin who is our most expensive looks like he will thrive and love the prem. If you have the skills why not show them off? Kevin will gladly oblige...

Our first 11 and our subs are all very strong and is as good as all but the very top teams. Robinson is one of the best players in the division but Tete is playing so well he cannot get back in the team. We should finish high in the table when Marco finds his best team. He has that happy problem that to get very good players into the team he has to leave out very good players. Kevin looked good because he passed well, could beat people with his speed and his dribbling, and has a fearsome and accurate shooting ability. No other player in the squad has that full combinational talent. A final point, Muniz is beginning to look like an attacking midfielder rather the a striker, the old fashioned no 10 who plays behind the goal scorer.

Today we made it so easy for Leeds to defend. We played everything so slowly in front of them. Muniz was non existent as a line leader and does not have the pace for us to play the ball in behind. Josh King plays like a headless chicken but that is inexperience. Sessegnon is not sharp enough, we need Robinson fit again. Iwobi works hard but has no end product. Berge and Lukic are too defensively minded to play together at home when we need to be on the front foot. I like both players but neither are creative. This is why Kevin was a breath of fresh air, sharp, take on a player, create space and moved the ball quickly, it’s not rocket science Marco we need to work the ball much quicker we need better movement and unfortunately Muniz once again proved he is not a starter.

Lack of quality, both teams shockingly poor, Kevin the only touch of class for ten minutes and earns man of the match which says everything. Surely, a poorer premier league match we will not see this season? That said, once again the premier league is showing its inept quality despite the money it has. The last five years the quality has declined, this season so far looks no different. Both Man Utd and Leeds have been very poor.
Replies
We created better chances than Leeds but not enough, as Marco said we played very defensively. I expected us to go on all out attack as Leeds are not good enough to break away and score. We also forgot a few well placed long balls can sometimes create more than inseissent sideways and back passing. Certain players kept making good forward runs but the ball never came to then, If I could see the run why could the player with the ball not. We perhaps should have played one less defensive midfielder and one more attacking one. Our two defensive midfielders look to pass sideways or back and rarely risk passing forward.

Atrocious performance lacking in creativity. Wilson is no way a starter and Sess is not productive as a left back . Maybe Lukik will again get MOTM but i still see little in his contribution and should have scored instead of trying to get a fancy goal and neither do i find Berge inspiring. We were utterly boring. Only bright minutes when Kevin was on but we cant rely our future on the lads shoulders. Marco put them in the mixer.

I almost feel ashamed, but I left just before the goal was scored, but I heard the roar while walking away from the ground. The trouble is I was hoping that it was our goal, and not Leeds scoring, although funnily enough they did score for us ! ! I haven't seen the goal yet. Football is a weird game. We have played really well in 3 games, and not won, but we play our worst game of the season and win, even though we didn't score with one of our own players. Personally, I couldn't care a monkeys, as we have been robbed in two out of our 3 games, so today the luck went our way. I have just looked at the l league table, and with this one win we are 10th, and it's lovely to see us clamber out of the bottom 3. We don't ever want to go back there again this season.

It sounded, according to Sky, a real shocker of a game, but we won, so who cares. Isn't it just typical, that we have played really well in our first three games, and didn't win one of them, and now we play garbage, and sneak a win. Football is an upside down sport at times. It sounds like Kevin is going to be a bit special.

Yes' this guy is the real deal and i think it will be a case of 'where is Kevin' when we have days like this. Lukic is never the most technical and gifted sort of player to put that ball into the net from Kevin and Muniz in that area and space was needed then. I just think that Leeds settled into a rhythm from the get-go and we couldn't find ours. You are going to get games like this and i think Leeds and manager Farke have learned the hard way about the prem and they have tightened up especially in midfield. Leeds used to play more open but today no space. Berge is sometimes too stiff and i likened him to bar football and sometimes these type of games don't suit him. Anyway 3 points is decent even though it was an own goal. It was coming after we were awaken by Kevin. Smith Rowe was unlucky hitting the post. This guy Kevin should be in from the get go now. WE WANT IT, WE DEMAND IT! How much did he cost? Kevin!!!!!!

Not winning was weighing heavily, on this must win game, and I had a feeling that we were too scared to lose. This is now a monkey off of our back, so we can now return to playing as we should. My MOTM was Leno, as without his important saves, we could look still be looking for our first win, and to think some of our fans criticised him.

Listening to Marco’s interview he says about the transfer window ‘it was not the market we wanted’. So, there you have it, those of you saying it was a good window are clearly deluded. The best dribbler of all time in my son's eyes is no doubt Lionel Messi and who am i to argue with that. I imagine it will be the good old fashion boy Tom Finney if we ask Big Boy? George Best is a good shout and maybe Rodney Marsh? Can our in the house Brazilian boy Kevin dance his way into folk-lore history and take the crown for the best dribbler to play for Fulham? We won't include the world because nobody beats Pelé ever! Honestly' we have some deadbeats and down right pessimistic clowns in our midst who don't rate the Fulham signings but i think we have recruited very well and yes, we await with bated breath to see our 6ft 4 striker, Samuel because we yearn for and crave goals galore. I love an entertainer and if Kevin lives up to his YouTube antics, dribbling a football and scoring a few goals while he is at it, Fulham will light up the prem and we stick it to the man. (I mean Sky who don't appreciate us. Come on Fulham against Leeds!

Why are some posters getting at FFC over the sale of Harry Wilson? As far as I understand it, it is Wilson who’s refused a new contract and with his current deal due to expire in the summer, what other option do the club have? Personally I hope he does sign a new deal but in football, very little is forever.
Replies
Harry wilson blows hot and cold. If he can maintain he’s best consistently, he’d be a £70m player. The problem is his consistency and therefore, he’s not always reliable and as a result, forever a bench player in a good team. We already have Traore doing that and maybe best we don’t have 2 inconsistent players. So as much as I like Wilson, he’s not irreplaceable, especially if he’s getting bored at Fulham.

Ange ball is only good if you have a dominant team (Celtic), with a good defence (Spurs) and generally, good ball players around the team. Not sure Forest have all that. You can't turn a team built on defence and counter, to throwing your kitchen sink at your opposition at every turn. I like Ange but I think he will struggle! I am just happy they didn't come for Silva - so dodged the bullet. Bad chairman and bad decision.

Of course he’ll struggle but it’ll be great to watch, one week the French surrender monkeys of the Second World War, the next, the 27th Regiment of Foot at Waterloo, triumphing over insurmountable odds. Football shouldn’t be a tippy tap chess game, it’s a physical, fast paced contact sport.

Economies sometimes get so out of whack (e.g. Tulip bubble, 30's wall street crash, dotcom bubble and who knows, AI bubble soon) and so out of touch from reality that a crash and a recession is required to reset, and start again. I am wondering if Football, especially the Premier league are reaching that stage, whereby we need to see some massive shock to shake the system back into reality. I thought the FA charges on Man City would do that. Clearly, Man City have better lawyers. We are seeing an average player costing 30m minimal and if you can kick the ball well, you'd be at 60m and how 20 clubs spent over 3bn is ridiculous. So maybe it is better for Football to see a recession. For that to happen, we need to shock the system and see a couple of big clubs going bust, a massive reduction in TV money, putting Rachel Reeves on Football taxation. Whatever, we need to get back to reality i think. Surely, we have blow the EPL bubble to a point of explosion! I'd be happy to see a football reality check!

No chance yet but methinks a super league is getting closer. most team are now going through the motion of trying but to no avail to actually win some ,but rarely do and with dosh only now for top six lets think about breaking up the league and create another division. Are we really selling wilson in january to leeds.??

No chance of a football recession whatsoever! Unless we stop buying Sky Sports which is connected to all the other sports such as tennis cricket golf ect ect. When the likes of Rupert Murdoch declare themselves bankrupt, then i will raise an eyebrow. Not just Sky connected to football.

The Clubs might price themselves out of existence but by making the entry cost beyond most people. You cannot entirely consistently fill a football ground with the rich.

The general feeling is while we are currently in the bottom 3, is that we are too good and strong to be relegation contenders this season. Infact, many are saying we played well and 2points is probably acceptable for the teams we played. So the fact, we were robbed by VAR, adds to the feeling we will be ok this season. I really hope so and infact , just OK is not really good enough. This weekend will be a great test for to team to see if we will be mixing with the bottom half teams or the top. To proof the latter, we have to beat Leeds convincingly. They spent a lot but at the end of the day, they just got promoted and £130m at best may just get them out of the bottom 3z they will not finish above 15 or 16th. So it’s time for us to get some points and goals on the board on Saturday! COYW!

Sometimes fixtures i think fall in good favour to the home team and Leeds played a injury hit and a no striker and rudderless Newcastle and i guess it was the right time to play Newcastle, i put Leeds down for a win but a good draw it was for Leeds. Leeds a very open in spaces at the back and Newcastle if they were switched on they might have nicked that game. I just think that Fulham at home should have too much for Leeds...

I feel our squad should be strong enough to stay up . But like plays a big part, lots of sides that were to good to go down in past have gone down. You can’t take anything for granted. Since Silva been in charge we’ve always had good starts and faded end of season. Feel were very unlucky to only have to points we’ve bad decisions going against us v Man U andChelsea . My only worry is if we get stuck down there to long confidence goes your in a relegation battle, few injuries players going to African nations our record end of season. What we must improve on from last season is beating the teams in bottom halve at home this season. Marco may have to prove his metal this season he’s been great for us , but his history shows not just with Fulham his teams fade end of season. Let’s start with a good win v Leeds COYW

I do not forecast results as so many things can have an effect. For example we attack all the game create many good chances that we miss and in the 87th minute Leeds have their first attack and score. We bring on lots of attacking players and (a) score no goals (b) score one goal (c) score two goals. I could produce pages with different possibilities but won't as until the 98th minute and the final whistle has been blown we will not know the result.

At this stage of the season, there is not one club that is facing relegation, and even after 10 games, there will still be no real indication, as so many things can change, for all sorts of reasons. Last season was quite exceptional, with 3 very poor teams at the bottom. If my memory serves me right, weren't Palace struggling down there, without a win after 8 games, but look what happened to them. It's still very early days, but the 3 promomoted sides seem to be a stronger set, but I would still fancy Sunderland, and Burnley to drop, with Wolves also involved, but this is football, so who knows. I will make one forecast, Fulham will not be relegated. COYW

I'm a bit confused, as to why some of our posters, are associating Fulham, with relegation this season, as on paper at least, we have a far better squad than last season, and we should be talking about a European challenge this time. We have made a sound start to the season, with three tough matches to start with, and if Jones and VAR, hadn't ruined it, we would have at least had an extra point at Stamford Bridge, which was daylight robbery. The only fly in the ointment, could be, if Marco moved on, but hopefully that is unlikely.

The press decided we had a bad window because we purchased our players very, very late. They can't change their story and as a team who had a bad second half of the season they decided without early transfer we would be poor. To many people look at the fake news these days so those and the Brentford supporters who come on here believe this media nonsense. The popular media sites are worse than the Sun newspaper in making up stories.

According to my fading memory. The 2 points we have this season is an improvement on last season when we lost to both Brighton away and man u at home.

There are a few posters, possibly myself included, who deliberately seek to annoy people. One recent poster continues to imagine he/she is the reincarnation of John Osborne who rose to prominence in the 1950’s. However, I believe this poster has neither the intelligence or imagination of this giant of the written word. May I suggest he/she is treated with the scorn they deserve and ignored.

Anger is of course an emotion but on social media it plays a different role in that people angry about something are using anger to show people how important it is to follow their, lie or truth. In advertising anger is used to draw attention to a product. On this site is used to annoy those who are easily annoyed so they lash out and embarrass themselves.

The two week break has allowed the new players to get a good settling period so Marco may use some of the from the start. I think he will start with at least one of the wingers and when which of our useless strikers fails to deliver bring on our new giant of a striker to try to boldly defeat Leeds.
