We see in friendly games harry Wilson is regularly on the score sheet. and we seem to have a obsession with wingers. Try HW at centre forward. Then proceed to obtain a winger.

Fulham have not signed any new outfielder players! I’m not sure there’s anything new anyone can now write about our lack of signings so PLEASE can we now change the record? We all know that we’ll sign players before the window closes and we all know that it’ll likely be nothing reported in the press. It’s the same every season now so let’s just accept that nothing said by fans will change the situation and debate something else - the away shirt badge, the price of season tickets, the reduced allocation of away tickets, the toilets in the Hammy end, the set piece coach, white shorts, etc., etc. ANTHING BUT NO BLOOMIN’ SIGNINGS (TIC).
Replies
Fulham try, quite successfully, to keep their transfer business secret so usually the rumours are nonsense unless a reporter has seen a player at the Cottage or the training ground seeming to sign a piece of paper. This way negates other looking for a player and protects from lies other that those told by their agent or by Fulham

It appears we have made a bid for a forward and a winger. If true these are serious players. We have obviously have tried to get experienced PL players but now have had to go further afield.

Still no new signings ( apart from aged/ highly experienced keeper ) . Do we need to start season before we sign anyone . And please not Sterling , let me go to Barnet or Orient , at least the Dons have declined opportunity . Green away shirts - do the fans ever get consulted !!

Don’t care that much about colour of shirt if there winning. But must admit for last year was great and got one . If away shirt was horrible would not care if we had great signings and top of table just wouldn’t buy one, and could were it for ever

It’s not a new badge! It was always Fulham’s badge until about 2001 when first promoted to prem. Most people hated the current FFC badge when it was first mooted but somehow we all got used to it. Nice to see us going back to tradition but I would have preferred it on the traditional red/black striped away shirt.

I watch with interest Sky's transfer show, which might as well be re named the Manchester United transfer show. From time to time, other Premier League teams are given an update, like Arsenal, Everton, Palace and Leeds, but one club which is never ever mentioned, is of course, which is a team called Fulham ! ! Frustrating, to say the least.

I'm quite worried about our non signings, as I'm pretty sure that the club must be making offers for different players, but the players involved, just don't want to join us, for some reason or other. Mainly I suppose, is that we are not involved in any type of European competitions, or is it that we are far too close to Chelsea, and most players would rather sign for them, and not us. There must be some reason why players are avoiding us, as we haven't as far as I know, got a bad reputation. Even poor players like Sterling, who I wouldn't touch with a barge pole, would rather join a below par West Ham outfit.

The Manchester Utd Transfer Show? So many only watch it because it’s such a great comedy show. The manager apologises for last season’s performances, expensive players are queuing to leave Man U, and the club, without European football next season to offer incoming players, flays around wondering who to buy. (Only those without European football and its bonuses - that is, probably inferior players - would leave to join United). OK, it's been quite quiet in SW6, but stick with that happy settled ship, our FFC.

SKY's contacts to show Premier League matches forces them to give all the teams a fixed amount of coverage each. They would rather just show the big teams playing the big teams as they get bigger audiences and more advertising money. The big teams have huge numbers of supporters who rarely or ever go to a game. We do not have many such "supporters".

Since there’s no Fulham transfer or even rumours to discuss, thought I’d rant for a few minutes. I see headlines this morning Rachel Reeves confirmed she will be raising taxes to fill a 41bn gap. This leads to my frustration that a party, as Labour have done, can lie through the teeth with false promises and commitments they have no idea how it will be delivered. They failed on basic economic to grow the economy (eg not to punish company so hard with tax), look after the elderly, failed on slowing down immigration and boat crossing, etc etc. what have they delivered to date. Oh yeah - they gave unions double digits percentage pay rises! Instead they will punish many of us here with more taxes and cuts. They will punish us on our hard saved pensions. They may even land grab a piece of our house with wealth tax and whatever is left, they are likely to punish our kids with massive inheritance tax. I didn’t realise they were going to implement Corbyn’s policies. Well they lied so maybe many people were too naive to believe! Rant over!

Too late! Sadly Rachel Reeves already grabbed and got plans to take more of these US treasury bonds. 95% of the US Bonds are in Pensions and she's already put that under inheritance estate, next is to remove the 25% tax free element, then to means test those with a hard saved pension pot then finish off with a wealth tax on whatever is left. So too late.

Journalists are now picking up on the fact that Fulham have not done any decent transfer business, suggesting that our poor finish to last season means we do need improvements otherwise it could be a poor season for us. Add to this teams below us last season like Everton, Man U and Spurs will be much better so we do need improvements and these need time to adjust, there will be no preseason for any new signings now so we will be playing catch up for the first ten games.

Mr Angry, are you off of your rocker. The Muniz to Leeds deal, which was always nonsense is no longer on, as Leeds have given up on that one, which was never on in the first place. Robinson to Manure United, is almost laughable, as even Jedi, would lower his sights that low. What wouldn't surprise me though, is Richarlison joing us from Spurs, as him and Marco, have always seemed to be very friendly, when we play against him, and they were together at Everton.

something i think most of us try to do in our daily lives . I think same applies to Fulham FC on most things - off the pitch new stand seemingly catering for the corporates and overseas tourists , mainly Americans . No problem with this providing the other three stands are still comfortable & affordable to the all weather / season after season fans- so far so good . Some of the money spent on improving the team - this is where the question comes in . I think to most of us the weakness in the squad is obvious - lack of speed in central defence , not enough creativity in midfield esp after 60 minutes , and need for a younger striker maybe as impact sub ( even move vital if Muniz moves ) . Marco has added to the coaching team with a dead ball expert , but his - and the fans -frustration - with the lack of activity from others is apparent . The board / scouts dont seem to have a clue who/ when to sign . The scouting shows no improvement season after season and maybe reflects an ownership complacency .

Kieran Dewsbury-Hall formerly of Leicester City, has been sold by Chelsea FC for £20m plus add ons after making just three appearances in the Prem last season. He is joining David Moyes at Everton FC, who is to my mind an excellent manager. Meanwhile Chelsea take a £10 million hit on their investment in this player. I've give up on rumours and so should you, until the club announces any new players on 31 August 2025 I'll just keep hoping as they have sold a number of our Academy Players already so no help from that direction. Did you all see the excellent season Jay Stansfield had at Birimingham City? - played out of his skin for his Dad apparently who he lost recently. He is a good player.
Replies
Jay Stansfield had an excellent season in division 1! Big picture is according to the squads around us Brentford lost manager, staff and 2/3 of there best players as have Brighton and Bournemouth we finished with record points last year and have only lost Willian and Viniscious so if we keep our current squad and I’m sure a couple of late signings what’s the problem?

So Marco has clearly had a pop at the Board for not doing any transfer business (bar an aged keeper) and feels this has hampered his preparations for the new season. Marco is already defending himself should we start the season poorly, he already has the perfect excuse. This does not bode well for the start of our season in which we have three very tricky matches.

Oh yeh and marco stil being ignored regarding players he asked for and has no chance of getting.
Replies
As before we have a squad that has cover in all areas, to my mind that means replacing players with better players. Who do you want to replace players we have in the back four, midfield four and front players.King has to be given lots of playing time, or would you like to buy a 25-30 million pound player to play like Dewsbury-Hall in his place. Biggest issue for me is the 30 mill for Anderson last year, hope his complete lack of pace was due to injury. We do not have another Mitrovic or Palhina to sell to improve an already strong squad. We have addressed the goalkeeping issue and hopefully the dismal set piece record, by obtaining a specialist coach. Giving Wilson a contract is a must. Pererra should be sold, if anyone wants him, so we need one quality footballer to replace him. Seems like Marco wants a wide forward.

I'm a pretty even tempered person, until someone or something really gets my goat, and this transfer window is windy me up so much that it is really making me bad tempered. I don't know what others thought, but to me Dewsbury Hall would have been a good addition to our squad, and it seemed all agree4d, if you believe the press, but now he is the way to Everton, which is infuriating. This nonsense with the two additions from Arsenal, and the then selling of Muniz, is on going and never ending serial. Why oh why do I support this snail pace like club, when there is a much more ambitious club just down the road, who buy players just for fun. I am beginning to think that although our players say they are quite happy here, and I am guessing here, there is turmoil with the Khan's and Marco, and I will not be too surprised if the next news from the club, is that he has gone. In that case I wouldn't be the only one to turn it in as well.. I'm sorry at present that I have actually purchased yet another ST. If things change in the next few weeks then most of our minds will change as well, but don't hold your breath.

The first ever football club is Sheffield F.C., founded in 1857 by Nathaniel Creswick and William Prest. It is officially recognized by FIFA as the world's oldest football club. Sheffield F.C. played a crucial role in developing the early rules of the game, with their "Sheffield Rules" becoming a foundation for the modern game.

Wrong. They’re the oldest club still active but played under their own rules until 1877 so they didn’t play what would be recognised as modern football till then. The oldest professional team is Notts County. Which proves that unlike booze, older is definitely not better.

Out of form over last 3 years , several trials none successful , injury prone , poor discipline - sounds just the type of player Fulham go for . I think i am saying this with irony - but probably only Paddy will respond . Certainly Talbot and team far too busy .

Paddy, for once I agree with you. However, I doubt if we can afford his wages so should try for a loan deal. Although, none of us know what is going on behind the scenes it also appears that neither does Marco which is worrying. If he is being sidelined in transfer negotiations then that would be construed as disrespectful and also an insult. This may well lead to Marco deciding his future lies elsewhere. The fans, especially those who are so vociferous at away matches, are rightly annoyed as this will be our fourth season where any signings only take place in the final week. Is it possible for the supporters committee to make representations to the board that bread and butter supporters deserve to be kept informed. Many of the older generations have supported the club for 50 to 85 years and have often suffered from seeing the club almost forced out of the EFL and at one point even being on the verge of extinction.

Think Marco has already decided it’s he’s last season what a great job he’s done. But must make it even harder in transfer Market not knowing who’s gonna be in charge next season. Do you buy big, when a new manager may want different players. We don’t really know what’s going on. Just a shame things going so slow after good season, bright part signed up some of our promising youngsters. The rest is wait and see

I know that we all, say, when we lose a friendly, that it doesn't really matter, as these games are for fitness purposes only. However to lose at home, to a lower division side, is not very encouraging. The trouble is, there is no indication on the official website, as to what strength of side, that we put out in this friendly. With both Rual and ESR, being on the scoresheet, it must have been a reasonably strong side ! !
Replies
It was really a 120 minute training session as long as they get fit and learn from any mistakes it doesn’t matter . Report says we hit woodwork 3 times better to get any bad luck used up in friendly, concern world be giving two pens away . Positive from preseason so far smith rowe looking fit scoring King Sessegnon looking sharp and Wilson scoring and looking class. But they are only friendlys the prove will be when real matches start, I’ve been around long enough to know you can have a good preseason and have bad season. And bad preseason and a good season results wise . All that matters they get fit pick up no injuries, and managers happy there learning what his teaching them

Observers on here hope and pray for new signings, as early and soon as possible, quoting the need to blend new signings into the team in pre-season training. Of course, Fulham may well have tried but not yet concluded any transfer successfully (other than the back up keeper we signed from France) but this must be taken as a positive sign that our present squad is happy to stay and considered adequate to keep. Preseason training at Fulham, with squad rotation goes on, and so the team develops without the pressure to achieve results. Meanwhile clubs like Newcastle (where Isak is giving them some unhappy moments) look in a certain disarray before their season has even started. And as for Man Utd, don’t get me started.

Friendly matches aren’t a great indicator of form. Be nice if they’d a couple of signings they were trying to gauge the fitness of. I remember playing for Buggleskelly Rovers and pre season we’d usually have a couple of lads in balaclavas trying out without giving their IDs away to sports journalists. That’s what we were told by our coach Mr Adams anyway.

If we were allowed to make 10 substitutions each PL game all matches would be a shambles. Friendlies are aimed at getting the first team and the rest of the main squad match fit, nothing more, nothing less. You can see the matches even the players who score hardly celebrate and the defenders who concede a goal do not hold their heads in disappointment. They are match based training sessions. Even if we won all our friendlies in a convincing style that would be no indication of how well we do in the Premier League. We will eventually sign as many of the player we need we can and Marco always moans it is part of the motivation strategy.

A new Fulham FC top now is £85 and for those who support the so called top premier league clubs, they are over £120!! This is such a rip off! the same top with the same material without the club logo can be bought for £30. This is abusing fans loyalty. I would love the day when all the fans protest and wait until end of the season and pick them up in sales for £20-30.

I wear it regularly year after year. Why pay to advertise a company. If more did the same, the would have to lower the price. Do I feel guilty that I am taking money from the club. The money saved by not giving to anti British charities would buy you the whole kit. RNLI, Oxfam and now….‘The British Red Cross is paying for hundreds of families to come to the UK to be reunited with migrants granted asylum, despite growing concerns over housing shortages. The charity locates, advises and funds the travel costs of up to 1,000 family members a year to come from abroad to join people who have been granted refugee status. I am getting so annoyed about it, I a m beginning to wish that he would just make up his mind now, and either stay or go. Apparently, Alexander Isak has gone missing-awol from Newcastle. Is this legal? Isak is training alone at Real Sociedad and i think Newcastle and Howe are making it awkward for him and a possible move to Liverpool. What of this news to us, Fulham? My Newcastle friend is worried about the options for a striker before the season starts properly. Benjamin Sesko is the man every team worth their salt wants and he isn't cheap. Newcastle want him but they won't get him. The alternative is our Muniz and apparently those Newcastle lot feel let down that Muniz is even on their radar. I am one for keeping Muniz but the fancy prices of 40-50 million might be too good to turn down if Newcastle are desperate to sign him. Unlike Dembele who was a mercenary Muniz is not at fault and fair play to him if he moves to Newcastle with Marco's blessing i would think. The problem with strikers and target men is picking the right one to replace Muniz and that is a gamble as we all know...

It looks like all the mid-table clubs are cashing in this summer. Brentford, Brighton, Villa, Palace, Bournemouth, Forest and Wolves are all running surplus in this transfer window so far. This is very unusual. Something doesn't add up. I think it has to do with the FFP. Maybe that's the reason why Khan thinks we can standstill and still progress next season. However, I think it is the best time to invest. When others sell, it is time to buy!
Replies
There’s all sorts of shenanigans going on with financial fair play. I read the other day that Chelsea sold their women’s team for £200 million., a team that leases its pitch from a local council. I’d not be surprised if that helps towards their FFP figures. Like in all things in business, get a good accountant. In London, Fulham are a small fish in a big pond. The only time I see a kid wearing a Fulham shirt is on the way to the match. The team doesn’t generate enough revenue.

Don’t forget the wages. Poor attitude and disciplinary issues would soon mean dressing room discord. There’s a reason Man Ure are getting rid of these players. Marco will never have him in the team on the basis of his attitude. Marco has built a tight knotted and cohesive squad, he’s not going to risk it with one of the bad boys from Man U. Infact, I don’t see any clubs making a move on him and Chelsea disliked him so much they paid to get rid of him. Man U will have to do the same but they should have known better than to give him a 300k a week contract!

They won so, congratulations are in order. I watched ten minutes of the second half before switching back to the cricket highlights. In the ten minutes I was appalled by the inability of our ladies to string two passes together and that Spain looked far more impressive with their precise passing, speed in attack which tore the English defence to pieces. Only a combination of desperate tackling and luck kept the Spaniards at bay. Yes, I did watch the penalty shootout and both keepers made a couple of excellent saves although both keepers were moving before the ball was struck. However, with the BBC’s wokeness, I suspect that the favourite for Sports Personality of the Year, Rory Mcllroy, might well be usurped by Chloe Kelly or possibly keeper Hampton. Team of the year will be awarded to the Lionesses with the manager receiving Foreign Manager of the year. In addition, Sarina Wiegman may be made an Honorary Dame whilst a couple of players could receive a MBE. The BBC will probably demand that lady footballers must receive equal pay as their male counterparts. Therefore, once again I offer my sincere congratulations to ladies on the earth shattering achievement and may they enjoy the rewards which come with success. How long before you demand to be allowed to join your male counterparts in the men’s professional teams which will be backed by Stammer and Rayner?
Replies
Is this a true complement on the Lionesses achievement?? Probably not with all the but's. You are probably old enough to remember Wimbledon beating Liverpool in the FA cup final? I don't think anyone were that critical of Wimbledon's - cos they won, albeit, wasn't very elegant. I am not a big fan of the ladies football but I give credit where credit is due. Unlike the England men's team, we have a squad of humble ladies (no front pages or arrogant big headed attitude) and they have beaten what was put infront of them, reaching 3 finals in a row, etc. Some achievements. As for the manager, she's reached 5 finals in a row!! I am not defending BBC or wokeness or if they should get whatever gongs (worthless in my opinion anyway) come their way, etc. I just feel the Lionesses deserve some credit this time!

Although I said that I was delighted that our English ladies team won the European cup, I know believe that the celebrations have gone way over the top. Yes in their standard of football, they came out on top, but let's not kid ourselves, the standard isn't all that high, and woman's football never will be anywhere near the standard of our mens football. I hope, that if and when, our mens team, actually win a major trophy, they will be treated as the ladies have been, which is seriously OTT.

Craven, I agree completely. JohnC states the squad are humble and not arrogant unlike their male counterparts but they were roundly criticised by the Spanish press for their arrogant post match celebrations. The Switzerland Ladies team was beaten 7 - 1 by a boys team in their build up for the completion.

I totally agree with Craven as well. It's now the silly season when it comes to being OTT, with the woman's football. Let's face it, they only won on penalties, and only scored 1 goal in 120 minutes. If they had won 2 or 3 nil in normal time, I would have been well pleased, but the penalty shoot out is a lottery, that could have gone either way, and this time it went to England's woman. Frankly Spain played better football, but could only score once.
posted by AC (Guest) - Wednesday 30th July 2025, 10:06 AM

Have to agree on your summing up Spain was the better team overaull but the girls and our rugby boys and our cricketers find ways to come out on top unlike our footballers that’s why they are more exciting to watch first three teams have been magniicent this year

I hope we can wrap up the deal soon and put a stop to us getting Sterling. Hopefully, that’s just a bargaining tool and we have no intention of bringing him in. If we can get Nelson on loan with a buy clause of £15m on completion of say 30games next season, that’s could be a fantastic bit of business. With Nelson, Smith Rowe may look less lost. Also aa a football fan, we are missing watching players who take players on a one to one. So I hope we can wrap up the deal this week so he has a chance of starting against Brighton.

Believe it or not Smith Rowe is an attacking midfield player which means that when he finds his mojo, he should score more goals. Thats right' Smith Rowe can play centre forward so technically he should be a perfect link up man to Muniz who knows that goals are expected from himself. Our problem is a typical fans dilemma. Can Smith Rowe and Muniz deliver goals regularly this season? Marco is the man of faith who will know and put his trust in these two and we fans think and feel that we need another striker. Interesting to see how Marco moves in the transfer market but a fit Reise Nelson, Sessegnon, Traore, and Pereira looks a nice attacking and creative force with Cairney. Berg and Lukic are great links to attack and defence but i still think we need more.

I know that I am biased, but when England win anything I am always delighted, so I'm really really pleased that the woman's team won again. From what I saw of the game, it was quite ordinary, although both goals were taken well. The biggest surprise to me though is the improved showings of the woman's goalkeepers, who used to be a joke, and our young keeper, did exceptionally well throughout the tournament.

Perreira is absolutely useless at any set play, Wilson surely to take over that role this season. Btw why is Perreira not leaving probably because no other team want him. So far, our transfer window has been non existent and any business will be done late and that is never a good thing.

Muniz to Leeds for 26 million and the we buy Kiernan Dewsbury is stupid because we are swopping a powerful target man for a midfielder Apparently Leeds are more than keen for Muniz and this move could spell disaster if Leeds go above us before jan window and we find ourselves in the bottom three. Muniz hasn't been prolific as a goalscorer but he does have the potential to develop into one. It is well documented that Muniz is a nightmare to play against and we need his robustness and his powerful presence upfield. Targetmen strikers may be hard to come by and i say better the devil you know in Muniz, at least he knows the lay of the land and what we should be doing is buying another striker. A better balance if Muniz is going is replace him with someone like Joao Felix who is an attacking midfielder who can slot into a striker role if needs be. Please' no more mistakes giving away strikers please! If Muniz is gone, we will need a target-man and there is no guarantee for Fulham at this level that we will find what we are looking for.

As I say every season, the newspapers look at each club see what players they need and can afford and choose players who fit these criteria. This is all invented but the Clubs think that some of the made up transfers may be feasible and happen making the journalist seemingly very well informed when in reality they are just lucky tellers of untruths.

Congratulations to us Fulham to win 3-1 and a nice confidence booster. I would say that on percentage we beat Forest more times than they beat us and a better form guide is Fulham to beat the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, City and the usual suspects who consistently break the top 6. I should not be too pessimistic, good start though...

A back up keeper from a just relegated French side . Possibility of Sterling - " any London club will do , just as long as someone gtees my £250K plus weekly salary " . We need extra speed in defence , more creativity in midfield , striker option - and that is minimum . Plus we will lose two players ( Iwobi and Bassey ) and maybe Gado to Africa Cup in January . Se are slow in signings traditionally but now seem even slower than usual . Shows a lack of ambition from those higher up than the dugout !

Hi Guys. Realistically do we really sense any lessons learnt or changes in our recruitment strategy? I don't think so such a shame. Always positive as love FFC forever but as one of the richest clubs in the premier league I feel Mr Khan is not ambitious enough to provide Marco with much needed quality players. Smithers Rowe real disaster and Nelson looked best potential but injury stalled progress. Now as ever looking at ex rejects and old players, Kingsley Daniel's come on we are better than this. So let's hope we get a quality striker which we have never replaced Mitrovuc quality and 2/3 midfield options. No go Palinha as can't get in Bayerns team and Perira also not good enough. Just my opinion as if we don't strengthen, I sense we will struggle. Excuse typos.

My new book 'When George Best played for Fulham' is now out and available to buy on Amazon, in hardback, priced at 14.99. It's a celebration and commemoration of this footballing icon's time at SW6 and is packed full of exclusive intervews with FFC legends Rodney Marsh, Les Strong and John Mitchell, opposition players Kenny Hibbitt (Wolves) Jim Eadie (Bristol City) and Steve Finnieston (Chelsea) not forgetting the fans still young enough to remember watching George play in a Fulham shirt together with more than 150 match action photos of George playing for the Whites. There are memories/thoughts/recollections and opinions about the great man himself from all the contributors. It was at Fulham where it is widely regarded by many that George Best fell in love with football again. The book covers all the ups and downs of Best's 47 appearances at FFC, including his debut almost 50 years ago v Bristol Rovers at the Cottage where he scored the game's only goal in just 71 seconds!
