I was disappointed when I saw the team sheet and that feeling never really changed, then Marco tried to shut up shop and settle for a point. How often that fails? I really don't understand inviting the opposition forward, surely it's better to try and keep the ball in their half.
Replies
Yes' bringing Diop on was a sign of a draw. Diop is usually on when we are a goal up and when we sit back. Cairney and Kevin on is saying we need more creativity but lacking from both wings today and i agree Robinson was poor. Also no crosses and not much from the right side today. Traore should have come on for pace but Marco not on his game with subs. When a team is playing poorly sometimes a flurry of six subs might work to freshen up. It is not always easy to travel up to Yorkshire and perform so put it down to a bad day all round for everybody. Leeds wanted it more on their own patch and they deserved this win today. If Marco needed to learn about timing of subs today, he could have learned from rookie manager Carrick at Man utd today. Carrick was superb and what a sub in Muembo straight from Africa. I thought he was crazy but it worked and Carrick took off Muembo soon after scoring, that is great subbing. We moan about not having the quality for subbing but sometimes like Leeds do, Fresh bodies and fringe players hungry for a game can do the trick. I have never heard of a lot of the Leeds subs, especially that Leeds scorer. Our young German desrves more than a few minutes today.

Yes' Robbo was poor, i thought he would bring his A game with so many games after injury. When we beat Leeds early in the season at Fulham it was a combination of Kevin left wing Traore right wing what did the damage second half. There was no desire or determination shown in the penalty area except for the Leeds scorer, who was brought on fresh second half. Sometimes a flurry of fresh bodies eager for action is the remedy. Leeds were poor but made a good sub in the big guy that got ahead of Cuenca who should have blocked him off completely. What is the point of the German coming on with 3 minutes?

I have never seen a bigger bully! So he's going to punish all the countries (with tariffs) who are speaking out against he's proposed illegal take-over of Greenland?? He also said he will up the ante until these countries agree he's right and they are wrong! Isn't this extortion? What's the difference between him and Mafia asking for protection money from the small shops?! Frankly, I don't care about Greenland but there's a morality and principle here that we all have to uphold, even if it means we are slightly poorer as a result of it. But no doubt Starmer will buckle! This is no difference helping Ukraine to stand up against Russia because we think after Ukraine, Putin will target the next country, and the next. Trump will do the same until he's kicked out. Many US people should be ashamed of themself voting Trump in. Really sad to US becoming lawless from the very top to the bottom!

the number of games has clearly caught up on us with a thin squad!! we look so lethargic the whole game. we were 2nd to every 2nd ball. we couldn't pull a string of passes together due to tiredness. May have to accept a loss here having been great for a few weeks. The 3 boys from Nigeria is back next week - we can kick on again.
Replies
John, we still have some fresh players on the bench. Some of Marco's subs are too late in the day today. Wilson was off his game and Jimenez was useless! The striker on for Leeds looked like he wanted it more and he got the better of Cuena end of game end of story. No use having Cairney and King on if we don't deliver something in box area. Jimenez was useless today!

Cant accept tiredness as an excuse after 22 games. Any player has to be physically fit to play the whole season if required. Today i think marco got it wrong. We had a system with Diop which has worded very well last 2 games and he did away with it. Sess was completely off and should not have even started the second half together with lukik. Finally hes been guilty again of too many last minute substitutions which completely unbalance the team ,specially the defence.

I agree we looked very lethargic and Leeds did not play well either. We were holding on for a draw at the end rather than trying to win it which is not like us. One game too many I am afraid. Perhaps we should have started with the three subs.

Losing your manager at end of season and one of your best players departing now could leave Palace like West Ham. From a potential top 6 or 7 team to relegation. My point here is we must not fall into the same trap. We too could lose our manager at the end of the season and also our right now our best player! so things can turn very quickly. Like Palace losing their best player is not the end of the world but the biggest shock, although not a complete surprise, is their manager going. We need to get Marco sign a new contract asap - that’s the most important task for the board, and if it means we are risking £70-80m on players so be it. Nowadays, if a player is young, you will always recover large part of the transfer fee - so risk isn’t as high as it sounds. Let’s learn some lessons from West Ham and palace!
Replies
You are perfectly correct JohnC and whilst it appears Wilson is running down his contract to collect a golden signing on fee I believe Marco will stay. However, Marco will required cast iron assurances that the board will back him in future.

I know a Leeds fan and they are peeved off and they feel that we mugged them off at Craven Cottage from that own goal but we also have our fair share of good and bad luck. There seems a touch of irony to this game if that's the word and very fond memories to Kevins debut against them. It was the first time i saw Kevin Properly and i had the feeling that this guy was special in the way how he came on and impacted the game with his dribbles and dinky crosses into the box and he should have scored one with that right-footed curler. We know Kevin has the skills and the magic to light up this away fixture and boy' do we need something special from Kevin because those Leeds fans will be noisy. I have been critical of Kevin lately but we know how good he can be and no doubt Marco will recollect and give Kevin the thumbs up and encouragement to go out there and express and entertain and go away with the 3 points out of there. Traore who we can't wait to see the back of was instrumental back in this game against Leeds last time out by the way. Just a reminder about Traore and why Marco still rates him.
Replies
Leeds had a few very good games after stumbled onto a formation that worked for their team, including Calvin-Lewis. But they are winning now and teams beginning to find a way to counter their tactics. Marco is a genius and would have done his homework. We will win. I predict 2-1!!

Leeds, like us, have hit a good run so I expect an exciting game with points shared. Sometime ago, when Everton cast off Calvin Lewis I suggested we should sign him. This suggestion was generally derided with comments he was too old, was injury prone and way past his best. However, now Leeds have found a good formation he appears to be back to his best. A skilful player with the ability to score goals which is definitely an asset. I trust Kevin will now realise that goalposts are strategically placed in the middle of the pitch and are painted white. This also applies to other members of the team. If only our team could realise that passing to members of their own team, who funnily enough wear the same coloured shirts as theirs, would assist the team in gaining more victories than they have achieved so far. It is good to see Tom Cairney rolling back the years and I consider he still has a part to play and consequently we should offer him another year at the Cottage. The team spirit appears very strong and players are working their socks off to grind out results and yet we are still seeing some negative comments.

We are doing OK given injuries and AFCO CUP players but we still need to strengthen the squad . Its all gone very quiet OK which comes across as complacency from the board . So Manchester City have agreed to buy Mark Guehi from C Palace, for a £20m fee, plus they have already paid out over £60m to Bournemouth for Semenyo, and all this while on a transfer embargo, so how the hell are they allowed to get away with it, while a club like Fulham have to be careful, not to spend one penny over the limit ? It looks like we we will be buying Pepi from om PSV, despite his having a broken arm, and he will miss about 6 weeks. This is obviously the beginning of plans for next season already. Is this a hint, that Marco will be signing a new contract ?

If we can get Pepi with a broken arm on the cheap, it isn’t a bad deal. We need to look beyond this season and we definitely need another striker. So happy to get him and wait until March for him to play. So hopefully, we can get him for maybe 25m euros.

I think Traore is a good option and a bench player that we still need and i don't understand the hate on him? Traore was never a striker and his game is to get up the right wing and cause havoc with his pace and to put balls into the box and i think he is very good at what he does. If Traore doesn't beat his man, he is well capable of doing a decent lay-off and assists. Castagne at right back hasn't got the pace to gallop and do what Traore can do. Would like to see Traore beat his man for pace a lot more and he does not use his pace enough for my liking.

I don’t want to see him go and I hope Fulham gives him another year contract with the view of moving him onto coaching after that. However, I can understand why Ipswich want him. Out of all the players in our team, Cairney can probably make the biggest impact to a championship team. He’d be the difference of promotion or not for a top 6 team. We can see the way he can boss a game. Sometimes difficult in the premier league but in championship, he can still do it for another 18months. So don’t want him go but can see a club breaking the bank to get him.
Replies
I do not think Marco rated him other than as an impact sub and he has been forced to play him for whole game when he looks like the best player on the pitch and inspires others to play better as well. Most other players try to match his passing accuracy. He must sign him up for at least a season with an option for a second year. The fitness and training regimes in modern clubs improves the period in which most players can compete at a high standard.

Cairney is maturing like fine wine and while he can still put in the performances like he has against Liverpool and Chelsea he must be retained. Plenty of skillful players carry on into their late 30's nowadays, I'd love to think Tom could be one of them and his comment about feeling weird in someone else's kit shows a level of loyalty seldom seen in the modern game. He's my Johnny Haynes Mk2. Stay as long as you like man. A real class operator who should really be part of Scotland's world cup squad.

In my opinion, it is a highly entertaining and clever program, and it's easy to say it's rubbish, if you have never watched it, as I was of the same opinion. Any program is rubbish if you dissect it. Euro scrapped third place offs since the 80’s but both AFCON and World Cup kept it! It is the most meaningless game ever. This is not Olympic Games where medal counts. In professional football, most players are not even interested in the runners up model (I think we have seen many pictures of them taking their runners up medal off as soon is is given to them), why would they want a third place playoff. Let’s have a game to see who are the better losers! A complete waste of time especially when clubs paying the players salaries are desperate them to come back. I really hope Nigerian win tomorrow cos I’d hate our 3 super eagles playing a meaningless game this Saturday when they could be in the squad for the Leeds match!!

Marco expressed his disappointment a few months in to the season we had not strengthened our squad in the summer and said it might impact his contract extension . He was apparently given reassurance that signings would be made in the January window . I got the impression that these signing were imminent and probably arrive whilst we had 3 players away at the AFCON Cup . To date nothing seems close . Have i misunderstood ? Full credit to the team for over-achieving in the last few weeks , well done , but i hope this does not mean the owners have slipped back into complacency . The squad is still weak in several areas , esp creative midfield & striker.

I know we are talking about Europe. I wondering and in fact, I will not rule out a champions league spot. Firstly, this year 5th position maybe enough to qualify for the champions league. Secondly, while I think Liverpool will only get better, Villa will most likely have a bad run between now and end of the season. I think we can keep pace with man united and probably Chelsea. Brentford less likely to sustain their good form than us. Also historically our 2nd half of the season has been poor - surely, probability means this season we could have a great 2nd half. I know it is all IF’s but much crazier things have happened means it’s more than a dream we qualify for the champions league! No, I haven’t been drinking. We have the best 6 weeks of performance I can remember - long may this continue!!

Nice idea but be careful what you wish for. Our overriding priority must always be to preserve our place in the premier league. When you look at the problems facing Palace and Forest (I know there are other factors involved at both clubs as well) it's clear that Europe can place huge demands on a club without a large squad. Much as I would love to repeat our European tour I would hate it to be at the expense of our longer term development.

We spend a couple of years in the Champions League that change our status as we would earn enough to double our player budget for that period. The manager should not tell the player that as it would make them nervous. I know it is a dream but real fans have to dream and hope at times they come true.

Long term development??? wonder what that might be,nothing happened last season , so know one was bothered then, and this season ,not holding breath again. Our decent accadamy kids get lost in the system, so no long term development there ,not a single player was got to aid long term ,smith rowe sits on bench most of the games,no replacement for tete who is starting to get injuries, muniz very iffy raul now getting older , but wiser i may add, cairney again no back up ever thought of,very soft in middle,so dont hold out for any development at the cottage just the odd pick up ,kevin ,sess,.

Although at the time I was very disappointed that we didn't beat Newcastle in the Carabao Cup, looking at tonight's game, I think that we dodged the bullet, as it is very unlikely that we would have beaten Manchester City over two legs, and how many injuries might have piled up as well. It wasn't a game without controversy either, with an offside goal disallowed the finest of margins, which was ridiculous, after a never ending wait for a decision. Thank goodness there is no VAR, in the FA Cup. Magic.

We are better than Newcastle and would have given Man C a much closer game than they did.

If you want to win something you will need to beat one of the top 4 teams!! so either accept we will never win anything or not be afraid to go head to head with the likes of Man City (who'd thought Palace could beat them in the FA cup final last year!).

In a one off game we can beat anyone, but it’s very hard for teams to beat top six clubs over two legs with the extra players they have. And it’s hard enough to get the closest decisions over one game v the big clubs. Let’s win the FAC??

Let's take each game as it comes, as there are no certain winners, or in fact losers, in the Premier League, as our last few games have proved, as none of us would predicted so many unbeaten games, including the FA Cup as well. We could just as easily lose our next four games. The only good thing is that we are not in a battle at the bottom.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Marco hint that whether he signed a new contract or not, he was relying on us making signings during the January transfer window, and so strengthening our squad. So far it's all quite on the western front, with not even a genuine hint of any additions to the squad. Marco will have a bit of a dilemma, if no signings are made, such as, will he go or stay on February the 1st ?

In the interview I watched, he said signings in January are not guaranteed.

Why would we need to speculate in the January window?.Our PL status is assured, we have three top players coming back from Afcon, Kevin is starting to look the real deal , ESR is beginning to look like what we thought we bought a few years ago and Muniz will be back. January window is for panic buys we can wait for the summer when we will be a very attractive prospect for any decent player. Far more important to get Harry nailed down.
posted by Old Bloke (Guest) - Tuesday 13th January 2026, 6:17 PM

It would be nice, I must admit, to have a new face in our squad, but at the moment, and the way we are playing, we don't have any need, for a new face, unless it was an exceptional player, and don't forget, next week we will have our AFCON trio back, plus the fact the Muniz must be nearly ready to return, and our main aim is to hold on to players that we have got, and to get new contracts for Harry Wilson, and more importantly Marco himself.
posted by THE CRAVEN (Guest) - Tuesday 13th January 2026, 6:39 PM

Do you really think Muniz is out short/medium solution? Raul is brilliant and he oozes quality. Muniz doesn’t have the same quality around the pitch. We need a new (quality) striker and a replacement for Adama, and get Wilson’s signature on a new contract.
posted by JohnC (Guest) - Tuesday 13th January 2026, 6:57 PM

Just two points i would like to comment on; the jan window is not that important and if not desperate, it is better to wait for the summer window. John C, Raul is brilliant and he oozes class? His goal for minutes on the pitch is poor and you could say that Wilson who is our highest scorer on 9 goals is the classier player. I am not knocking Jimenez too much because he does score some important goals for us but at the age of 34 Jimenez and 90 minutes is a stretch to much for him and maybe in the odd match he will take one of those goal scoring opportunities that comes his way. Muniz has missed chances just like Jimenez on the pitch and we complain.
posted by OWEN - Tuesday 13th January 2026, 8:34 PM

No player contracts end in this period so you have to buy people out of their contracts or look for people who have been out of contract since at least the summer. This is not easy so takes time. We may sign some players but no guarantees.

Marco Silva was very upset that the club had gone back on their word last Summer in the purchase of new players and yet we still have not seen any new signings: 1.Why no new contract for Marc Silva. 2.Why no new contract for Harry Wilson. 3.Why no new contract for Tom Carney. I accept that Silva has done a remarkable job considering the Injuries to player and those on AFCON duty. 4. What are the Khans proposed ambition as far as FFC are concerned, is it to progress the the club as much as possible.

The issue with these contract issues, we only ever one side of the story. I guess the board and owners are judged on the result, only. We never ever sign players at the beginning of the window, so may have to wait another 3 weeks. Is the Marco contract issue as simple as transfers? Likewise, what would you say if Wilson asked for a £150k a week contract. We don’t know what goes on behind the scenes and if it’s always the owners fault. But I agree - results are slow coming!

The transfer window ends 2nd February today is the 13th January, no rush. We do not buy everyone who is available, just ones Marco can see potential in. That takes time and consideration particularly in this window where you have to get someone out of a contract and that is not an easy negotiation.

What was so enjoyable yesterday, was when a goal was scored for either side, the referee pointed to the centre circle, and it was a goal, and we didn't have to hang around for ages waiting for a VAR verdict, to see if there was a toenail offside, or that there was a foul a few minutes before. This has convinced me that VAR is rubbish, and is ruining the game in the Premier League. Let's get rid of it now.

Were you still complaining about VAR when Wilson’s goal against Liverpool was given after a VAR review, which would have been disallowed by the referee? Thought not…

Do you think a top division one (now called premier league) from the seventies can beat a top league one team of today? I know it is difficult tot compare because of the weight of the ball, condition of the pitches and what’s allowed and not allowed by the refs. But when I watch back some old classic matches on TV - the quality of passing, fitness and speed of the players and final ball decisions definitely not be accepted today in premier league today and maybe not the championship either. So just curious how a top team in the 70’s would fair in, for example, the league one today??
Replies
You got it - the pitches and regulations are quite different today compared to the seventies, which meant different types of players were excelling in the seventies compared to now. One really should consider two games; one where a 2026 team is taken back to play then, and the other where a Seventies team is asked to play now. The team containing players developed for its era would win. (A team playing now and containing Norman Hunter would be down to 10 men within minutes!)
posted by peterjeremy - Sunday 11th January 2026, 10:31 AM

Fitness, technique, skill set, tactics, pace of the game today for me, means a team of old really wouldn’t have a chance against a comparable PFL team. Think players on balance probably take it more seriously today too. Much more at stake financially so a totally different mindset. Individual players of class would I’m pretty certain adapt to the modern game but it would take a lot of game time.

I reckon if a modern ref was in charge of the 1970 Cup final between Leeds and Chelsea, it would have finished four aside and Ron Harris would be just about eligible for parole.
posted by Old Bloke (Guest) - Sunday 11th January 2026, 2:10 PM

These days a player is touched, he screams and falls dramatically holding his face and the ref books the player who had the nerve to touch him. Ron Harris would kick a player six foot in the air and the ref would ignore it. Football has changed mainly for the better, but I hate this acting and trickey that modern players get away with. The other things I hate is arguing about free kicks, corners and throw ins when the players know the decision is right. I also hate all this wrestling that goes on in the box for set pieces.

The question is the level of football skills in the 70’s today compare with today. I think no better than league one. But a good point is what if you put the current Man City team in the 70’s how would they fair. I think they can still win 12-0! Yes they’d be kicked but the speed and technical skills mean they can make Norman Hunters and his mates running around like headless chickens.

Joan Palinha who at Tottenham seems imobile and really out of his depth, he is not the swashbuckling tackler that graced the Cottage turf before signing for big money with Bayer Munchen, who are now prepared to let him go. We have far better midfielders playing for us already.

I think that Palhina, wouldn't be good enough to grace our team at present, and he is a liability when he constantly fouls, and adds to his card count. He must think that he is a swashbucler from the Musketeers with his new look, which I think looks stupid. Areola at West Ham would make another good Musketeer. They ought to concentrate on their football, instead of worrying about their looks.

To be fair, he is not suited to the spurs tactics. He’d suit us because we depend on an anchor man in the middle to hold the fort. We don’t necessary need him to bring the ball forward. But we have Berge. So the question is how much better he is than Berge. I think it’s marginal. Palhingais a better tackler but Berge can hold the ball better. So I can’t see us bringing him back as we don’t really need a cover for Berge.

The more they rubbish Palinha at Tottenham is the more they wind him up and some of the pundits are giving him stick. A cut down price will be in our favour and i think Marco will bring him back. That's how we operate and we have many players signed under the radar over the years. The difference about Palinha is that we know he can score goals. The evidence is there about Palinha and his game is not just about stopping, he can also drive forward and score good goals which is a rare thing now. Yes' we know a bit about his yellow card problems but we can work with that like we did in the past. I disagree that a player is washed up and finished for the knackers yard at 30 and the one true thing what the likes of Palinha need is love and a hand around his shoulder and i believe in Marco to bring him back to his best. We got a little bit of magic from Willian who we thought was washed up and he was past 30 and we can get the best from Palinha in the years he has left if he comes back.

He’s only a decent player now, not what he was. Don’t forget he left a couple of years ago. Certainly not worth a multi million pound transfer and huge wages. He wasn’t even a particularly good goalscorer if that’s the argument for signing him. If he can be had on a Sessegnon type transfer then it’d be good business but I’d make do with is there already.

The Time is Now' yes we have a few more quality players now but not many quality goal scorers. Except for Harry Wilson who is our highest goal-scorer so far. Some say that Palinha scored some okay-ish goals but i say look again at his goals and some in very important moments. Just look at how many shots some from 20 yards from the likes of Castagne yesterday? Talk about quality? Lukic has not produced anything of quality shooting from distance and these are the players you guys say are above Palinha for quality. The likes of Lukic, Berg, and Castagne are uniche and they each bring something special for us to the table but sadly they don't have a shooting boot that can come up with those kind of thunderbolts Palinha can deliver. Why are we searching or looking for in every transfer window? We want and we need goals! If there is a smidgin of a chance that Palinha and his dodgy tash is available, i hope we can get him.

Could have been taken off but good on Marco for keeping him on and glad for him to score his goal. Hopefully, Kevin will motor now and kick on and score more goals. Goodbye i think to Traore and Jonah Kusi-Asare. Jonah Kusi might have been more convincing with the header early on but still lacking experience. Sadly, you have to bring your A-game in games like this and show that you want it. I was happy for Smith Rowe who had a good game and he deserves his goal. These are the areas Smith Rowe needs to take up to get those chances. Again man of the moment Harry Wilson keeps on scoring and assisting like the good pro he is.

Kevin gets in the box a lot if he receives the ball there and slams it into the net most times he will become a hero. Now he has scored he will be looking for ways do keep doing it. He is class and we will soon see what that means.

I have being trying to analyse what has changed from the Fulham team of the earlier part of the season where we were hovering just above the relegation zone and now. We all remember how we were conceding last minute goals and our inability to score them. As I recall, our main contributor was own goals by the opposition with three for a number of weeks. From an analytical point of view I do not believe much has changed as we are still not playing to our potential, we are still giving the ball away far to often, defensive frailties remain with Robinson still not yet up to scratch after his injury. Yes, this is in part to the brilliant contribution from Wilson but it is seldom that one player can make a difference, Haynes apart, so the question remains, what has changed? Purely based on my own involvement in all sections of football I believe it is that intangible aspect known as Team Spirit. Not has changed in the way we play as we are repeating the same mistakes as before but now we are playing as as team, working for each other by tracking back when we lose the ball and defending as a team. Players are working their socks off, especially Jimenez who continually helps out in defence whilst also scoring goals. Kevin, for all my doubts had an excellent game against Chelsea and I believe once he scores his first goal his confidence will be sky high. Words are insufficient to describe Wilson’s form but unfortunately, it appears he intends to run down his contract in order to become a free agent and receive a huge signing on fee with Liverpool, from whence he came, as the latest chub muted as the latest club interested. With a possible signing on fee of £10 million who would not run their contract down. Another statistic is we have forgotten how to lose and even when we concede a late goal we can still score an even later goal. Today we face Middlesbrough who are an excellent footballing side who will provide a stern test for us but I expect we will prevail by the odd goal. This be be down to Team Spirit and our ability to score even in the last minute.
Replies
We have gained experience and confidence and know how to beat teams and hold onto leads. It helps that Harry Wilson is playing as well as he ever had. The team also has great belief about themselves. The cup is a good example as Marco has shown us how to win difficult cup games, something we have been bad at before he came. Silver substitutions were brilliant today and completely changed the game in our favour. It took the manager a little while to find our best tactics and our best team at the beginning of the season. Also the first ten result of the season produce odd results as some players take a long time to get match fit after the break. The players are just young men and some will behave better during the summer break. Now Kevin has scored his first goal he will want to score a lot more and I think he will.

Personally I’m not sure there needs to be much analysis. The fixtures didn’t fall well for us and in the main, we lost the games we’d expect to lose and won the games we’d expect to win. Think I posted this at the time.

MST, would you care to elaborate a little on your point that we have won what we expected to win etc? For example, I don’t think Fulham fans were all that optimistic when key players were selected for AFCON, yet of late we’ve seen some great Fulham performances. Every fan of every club under threat of relegation thinks playing us is their best opportunity for 3 points. The media like to focus on difficulties experienced by other clubs rather than comment on Fulham’s achievements and spirit.

Make no mistake guy's, the Boro forward i can't recall his name at the moment should have buried that chance for 2-2. We were a touch fortunate and yes there is a small element of luck and good fortune in football. We are not invincible and we still have our Fulhamish weaknesses and traits. Let's just move on to the next round and try to tighten up at the back. Middlesboro played very well and they just didn't take their chances, other teams will if we don't wake up. Saying all that, we cn only beat what is in front of us and we are doing so i say, give ourselves a pat on the back but don't get carried away...

My feeling as regards transfers, is to ensure Wilson and Cairney sign new deals and sign Chuzuweke in this window. Sell Traore, if you can. Where are we going to a Midfielder like Guiramaes Maddison or someone of that ability, because that is the level we are approaching with the ability in the rest of the team. See why we wanted Cherki. Young Chelsea winger Tyrique George could give us options as a wide player. Just do not see Sterling at all, weeks to be available fo match play, season would be almost over. Pay structure impossible.

Don’t you think we have enough options for wingers? It’s in the middle of the park where we are a bit thin, where the present players are ageing.

Surely it isn't a risk too far to see this young man in action this FA cup weekend? I think you will all agree that Jimenez deserves a rest now before we play Leeds back in the Prem. I think a first-half run-out against Middlesbrough is a great test to see if our 6ft 5 striker has any ability before we buy from the window and i say it is minimum risk and more to gain if he shows ability. If his game is not up to standard, Jimenez is always available providing he is fit, which he proves to be week in and week out. I am loving it that Sess is back in action and i think Robbo is almost back to his best and Kevin is showing more of a spark. Looking forward to this game and it should be an enjoyable experience for all our squad players who get a game. Harrison Reed i think deserves a spot in this game after his fantastic goal.
Replies
I think Marco will play a relative strong team today. I think Sess, Kusi-asare, lecomente, reed will get a game. Will allow him to rest Leno, Wilson, Cairney, Raul, Anderson and Robinson. Otherwise I see Kevin, berg, lukic, Cuenca and Dior carrying on. Will be interested to see if he’d rest berg/lukic and play Rigelon. I want us to win this game!! Hopefully Marco too.

If it's not Manure United, it's either Arsenal or Spurs. Funnily enough there's a team called Fulham, that is never, ever mentioned. Surely we must be interested in someone worth mentioning ! !

Alan' we are under the radar but we are very respected and talked about now more than ever. Our brand of football is good to watch and everybody i talk to mentions Fulham and how we are good to watch. Harry Wilson is the stand-out footballer on everyone's lips at the moment and if yo come across any Liverpool supporters, they will say that Harry was taught by the best in Liverpool. They still say great things about Harry Wilson. I don't live in London but when i go down i take the family and grandson and stay nearby Craven Cottage. My daughter's husband is a hard-core West Ham and he looks forward to visits to Craven Cottage. His words are Fulham-ground and walk outs around the Thames is the best he has experienced from football. Words from himself to Fulham fans waiting and busting for urinals. Lol, he can't get over how polite Fulham fans are. Believe me' we are more than talked about everywhere now.

Not too sure would want Paulinho back to be quite honest. Think that Berge and Lukic doing a good job so far this season. Just wish Berge would shoot a bit more as I recall for other clubs he’s scored a few goals. Would definitely prefer us to buy a forward and probably another forward driven midfielder and Chuckweeze. If we can keep most of our current players and definitely tie down Harry Wilson….

Berg and Lukic are great assets to the team but it is debatable if they are creative enough when both play together. Palinha is a great defensive stopper but he has a dimension to his game that both Berg and Luik don't have in their repertoire. Palinha can create and score goals. I think his best season goals for Fulham was 8 goals in a season? That is phenomenal. Jimenez, our star striker has not scored anything past 5 goals and it is halfway. I really think that if we can get Palinha for a good price age 30, we are quids in. Do we really need another midfielder with Sess back and Chukaweze to come back? Those to alone will have the creativity we need along with Smith Rowe and Josh King in there. We might even make Europe with the team we have and additions.

I'm with Owen on this one, Berge and Lukic are good servants but not together. I think it's been great to see Marco playing Cairney with one or the other( somebody find him the elixir of youth so he may continue) I'd go as far to say that he's the best no10 we've had since Haynes, can't give higher praise than that and it's a travesty that he's only got 2 caps for Scotland. I'd have Palhinha back in a shot, his best football was played for us under his fellow Portuguese gaffer and it was very noticeable the conversation taking place with our coaching staff at the end of our win at Tottenham recently. Still we're in a very good place starting '26 and sincerely hope that Marco can be persuaded to stay and carry on the good work

I understand his frustration with all these fake injuries but he picked on a player who had a genuine injury(I think, as going off on a stretcher could be an extension of acting injured by a tired player faking)

He had no idea if Bradly was faking it or not as he did not see what happened. For that reason, he has no excuse and he shouldn't do what he did!! If you haven't seen it, you have to assume the worse. What would happen if Bradly concussed his head and being pushed like that could kill him. What if he fractured a bone (which he may well have done!) - being pushed like that would only increase the break! he's an idiot and complete lack of sportsmanship - sadly, all stem from the culture that Arteta has instilled (btw - why the manager's box at Emirate is only a few inches from the line??! So, Martinelli is 150% an idiot!

I agree he should not have done it and that he should have got a red card, I was just expressing my anger that so many footballers fell acting is as is an important part of the game. The person I feel most sorry for are the referee and the medical staff they cannot have clue on who is genuine and who is fake.

It doesn’t matter if Bradley was faking injury or not. Taking the law into your own hands, throwing the ball at him then manhandling him was against every rule governing player conduct. The petulant tw*t should be banned for a minimum of 6 matches, Mitro got considerably more, and deserved it for equally cretinous behaviour. Should be made an example of, heavy fine and ban for the rest of the season.

I can’t remember a specific in incident but it resonates with you. can someone explain to me why when one of your opposition players lose his head with the ref, why do our players jump in to stop him and calming him down? Surely, let him lose his head with the ref as he will be sent off very quickly. Why other than his team mates tried to defend him, stop him getting to the ref (not as though he will punch him) and calm him down. Football has the least sportsmanship of all sports (just look at Martinelli last night - classic Arteta’s arsenal), why anyone other than his team mates want to get involved. I have seen this so many times. Just want to know why??

The players in the main like each other most arguments on the pitch do not last long and forgotten after the game. Footballers are performers trying to provide us with entertainment. Player when they are touched we expect them to cry out, fall on the ground and hold their face wherever they are touched. On MOTD the two ex players complimented Wilson on getting one of Chelsea's best players sent off by putting his arm on his chest and falling into the penalty when it was pulled. What we are watching is a game but it is also a game.

Because most are ill disciplined cretins who either want to get in on the act or simply interfere. Whatever the reasoning their actions just inflame the situation. Clubs as well as players should be heavily fine they are the ones who should be held accountable for their players behaviour. They’re held responsible for fans conduct, same should go for players.

Well said Mortlake. These overpaid prima Donna's just don't know how to play to the rules and the media love blaming the referees when it's the cheating players that cause all the problems. Look at Everton bleating about Keane's red card against Wolves. Common assault in the street, no place for it on the football pitch.

To tell you the truth Chief' i was rather miffed that Marco was giving preferential treatment to Josh King in major minutes and game time over Smith Rowe and i say that for good reasons. Josh is a great young talent and talent takes time to be nurtured and to grow. I just didn't get it why Smith Rowe who cost us a fortune was benched more than playing? Marco does have a habit of playing certain players week in and week out without a necessary change and i will mention Pereira. Yes lately we can see the justification for persevering with Jimenez and he has delivered some important goals but not nearly enough but we can work with that. Jimenez goal stats is terrible and work friends like to point this out, but only Fulham fans will understand the dynamics of playing Jimenez every week and every minute. His lay-off to Harry Wilson was sublime by the way so i never will dis him completely but there are times this season that Jimenez should have been benched but such is life and people will say i am not the manager and they are correct. Somebody will come up with the age old question and answer that Smith Rowe wasn't ready early on and there was justification for playing Josh King but my answer to that one is to play Smith Rowe for 90 minutes every week is the same experiment that says he will come good and deliver just like Jimenez, thats my theory which probably isn't worth the post printed because like i said, i am not the manager.

Playing Josh is Marco’s way of kicking ESR up the backside by embarrassing him with an 18 yr old kid. He tried the TLC approach last year and it didn’t work. So this shows how good manager is as many other managers would have given up (look at some of the players in Man U and Chelsea). Marco cares for his players and they all know it. Squad players putting in an extra mile for the team.

Josh King got injured in training and it may be a while before he returns. He is going to be a great players and the more he plays he will improve. He can beat anybody now and when virtually all his crosses are telling and he is scoring regularly criticism will cease. We have him on a long term contract as others and me believe he could become, perhaps, our greatest ever player.

I can’t see West Ham getting another 18 points, Burnley another 19 points and Wolves another 25 points so a fifth season in the Prem now beckons. To my mind, we should now put everything behind progressing in the FA Cup. By that I mean, play a weakened team in the league the game before cup games and play a full strength team in the cup. Obviously, too late for Boro which will be a really tough game three days after a strength sapping game against Chelsea but here’s hoping. COYW!!

The only question about Cucurella’s ‘tackle’ (I was in the Hammersmith End) was whether it was in or outside the area. Everyone could see the actual offence. Cucurella just timed it right - it was outside. Why then three more Chelsea players picked up yellow cards in a debate over the following several minutes is beyond me, but their club is going through some histrionic times, fanned by the press. The nonsense at Man U as well as Chelsea in recent weeks is the very sort of thing we don’t want at Fulham. Fulham have had a good time recently because, even though AFCON has claimed important players, Marco has played his hand well and the spirit is tremendous. We just want to get on with playing attractive winning football and we don't have too many hidden agendas about huge dubious investments.

Sorry to hear our former Manager (1997-1999) has cancer of the smomach and wish him a steepy recovery. He was boss at the Cottage during the heady days when our former Chairman brought in some very good players and it was a sad day when Kevin left the Thameside to manage the England side for such a short period. As a player he scored a lot of goals here at the Cottage for Liverpool FC, (not Hamburg IF) and Newcastle United. He was an excellent striker who took a lot of attention by our back four. Our local garage owner (now the 4th generation owners) had the same complaint a few years ago and despite having a large part of his stomach removed lives and thrives today). Good Luck Mr Cresswell.

FFC should just give HW what he wants because he’s irreplaceable

He might want trophies, or Greenland.

Totally agree with the posts below, surely Kevin's best game so far. However I don't think enough is made of his tracking back. He put in some very robust and important tackles last night. Together with his dribbling and crossing, once his decision making improves, as it surely will with good coaching, we will have the real deal. All in all we are looking pretty good down the left side and this is where the majority of our threat originated last night. Can't wait for Leeds.

Getting there as predicted and he works hard. Was pleased to see him working so well with Sess. That could be a fruitful combo in the future.

Most of us, including myself at times, were beginning to wonder about the wisdom of buying Kevin, and we had the same feeling about Muniz, especially after he was such a disaster at Middlesboro as well. Now we are missing him a lot, and I hope that he regains his scoring ability on his return eventually. When these young lads, and they are young lads, come from foreign parts, don't know England, or the language, it will naturally take time to adjust to a new life and playing style, and we as fans, are sometimes far too impatient, and expect top performances from the word go, and it just won't happen. The same with Chucky, so hopefully his trip to the AFCON, will give him more experience. I am beginning to have more faith in Marco's judgement than mine ! With no relegation worries now, we can play with a more relaxed attitude, even if we come unstuck at times. COYW

Kevin’s potential is sky high! You can see he’s changing and improving by the game. He’s tracking back way more and if you compare last night between him and Cole Palmer, who is clearly reluctant to go behind the half way line, you can see the work Kevin is putting him. He has the best coach available to guide him. He’s decision making on the ball and finishing still have plenty of room for improvement. The flick he did in the last minute of injury time shows he’s potential and the tricks up his sleeve but I am sure Marco would tell him to never do that again while we are only 2-1 up and in the last couple of minutes of play! But I am sure Marco will coach him in a way not to stop him from being creative. I really look forward to forward to seeing his development in the next 18months.

I think we exceeded everyone's expectation on what we achieved in the last 6 or 7 games, and since the Nigerian boys are away. Obviously, Wilson has been on amazing form but I give all my credit to the squad players who have come out and played out of their skin and filled in all the gaps perfectly. Clearly Cairney is a standout but look at Diop, Cuenca and Castagne. Neither players played any minutes but have come out as they never left the first team. Then we have Reedy. Say no more! Apart from Chukweze (Kevin still have a couple of guys to really impress), I don't think any of the Super eagles can walk back into the first team. Neither should Tete. If we can add 2 or 3 more quality players into the squad this January, we are well set for the 2nd half of the season! We should be a very strong candidate for a top 6 finish! Well done boy!! best 3 weeks of football i can remember in the Premier league!!

I have to agree about the squad, which in my opinion, has well exceeded our expectations since our defeat by Palace. No doubt Harry will be awarded the MOTM, after last night's performance, but with Bernd Leno in our goal, we could have even lost, without two or three of his magnificent saves. I would also add, that the more I see of Kevin, the more I think that Marco was right to invest in this talented young man, and him and Chucky, are our future now, and I'm crossing my fingers on this one, but I am beginning to believe in our future. My prayer, is that Marco decides to sign another contract.
