So slow to consider alternatives to Marco as we all knew was leaving early as January. Now all decent managers placed where, Aribola has never managed first team at a high level going backwards. No transfers viable until a manager in place. Total apathy and we will struggle to compete at this rate. Marco is a big loss. Attraction for quality players highly unlikely. Shame as I thought we were beginning to progress.

It now seems that he messed about with the board with his will he won't he stay situation, and he gave them the impression that he would stay, then very late decided that Fulham wasn't for him any longer, and off he went. Personally I will never forgive him for that, as he should have given the board his decision far earlier. We are now at the stage, with the fixtures coming out tomorrow, in limbo, with no manager being appointed. Other clubs who have lost their managers have already settled to a new manager/coach, but here we are again, miles behind the eight ball. It looks like TK, has whittled it down to two choices, but we are still guessing who those two are.

A deadline should have been set for Silva to decide at the end of March. Now we are scrapping about and time is marching on. I strongly suspect next season will be a struggle. Frankly, Tony Khan interviews do not convince me he knows a whole lot about football.

They are not exactly one of the top 6 or 7 clubs in the premier league. Portugal league is at best top 7 or 8 league in Europe. benfica is not even in the champions league. They offered half the salary he’d get at Fulham. So, he knows he going in December when he first refused the offer, and subsequently the club probably met all his conditions for contract extension. I had a senior position in my company, but luckily, I had good accountants that covered the financial side of the business. However, despite how rich I might have become over the years, and I didn't by the way, it would never have crossed my mind, to buy a club like Fulham, or any other for that matter, as profit wise it's just not on, so we should be more than grateful for the Khans continually putting their hands in their pockets to keep us going. I personally think we need more discipline. I understand having jokes and doing jokes while training but at the end of the day it is a job for the players and they also need to treat it like that and be more focused. Its not a criticism of them personally it is just i think under Silva he allowed too much and wanted to be liked to much. Whether Arbeloa was successful at Real Madrid or not, he has been in the dressing room with the worlds best, and i think he needs to right of the bat demand more discipline and enough of playing out from the back. Enough of getting to the half way line or the final third and then passing the ball back negatively. Like i mentioned before we need a striker and a DM. And to be honest if we can get a DM id like to see us either throw Anderson or Diop as a DM, with the understanding at times he could drop back into a back five when we need it. We also need a RW. While I think KEVIN needs more freedom to express himself. Its just my opinion. But i really think it could be exciting times at fulham.

The young kid Antonelli will and should win it this year with 5 straight wins and the stats say no driver with 5 wins loses a championship. However, saying all that i think the rivalry between Ant and Russell could scupper and lose Mercedes the title. People forget that in Schumachers era there was team orders and the unfortunate Eddie Irvine sat and suffered orders but to make up for it, he was a well paid bridesmaid. Mercedes and reliabilty is not great and Antonelli suffered a breakdown just like Russel did at Monaco. Enter Lewis Hamilton who is the most experienced racer out there and his ultimate plan is to take advantage of the Mercs sqabbles and hunt down the elusive 8th title that he should have wrapped up a few years ago. Players like Henderson are not technical enough but that's just my opinion. Morocco look decent and i think the Scotts are up against it. Brazil looked a touched slow and out-fought in midfield just like we look most of the season but we know they have the technical players that will up their game. It does look as if Alvaro Arbeloa is now in the lead to take over as our new Manager. I must admit that I have not really heard about him in any detail, but at least having played in the Premier League, he has a very good idea, what it is all about, and what is needed, either to survive or challenge. If it is to be him, he must have laid the law down, as to how much he will have to spend, and on who. Fulham are not an unknown team, and he will be fully aware of our lack of goal scoring strikers, and we have just lost one of our best ones, albeit 35 years old, in Jimenez. There will obviously be some screaming and shouting from a lot of our fans, that he is not what we are looking for, but the same fans, probably didn't want Marco either, and that didn't work out too badly did it ? I bet Palace and Bournemouth fans probably didn't want their new managers when they were appointment, and we wouldn't mind having either of them now. If, as suspected, Alvaro is appointed, we must all get behind him.

We are not good enough to be in Europe without a proliverent striker or goal scoring midfielders. So it was probably a good thing that we failed. I think the players thought and acted that way.

Once Silva, left for Benfica, surely the main objective was to keep the existing players at the club, who acheived 52 point and retained top flight status, so the new coach had the opprortunty to assess. Not giving Jiminez another year, seems poor planning as now we only have Muniz, who failed to score a single goal on his return and only 1 in a season. If Wilson leaves, FFC have to find 20 goals to replace them, without all there other attributes. Early days, but seems like another not ready to start season.

Marco played this out to near perfection but he didn't get the cream jobs and they were jobs in the prem. No Chelsea no Liverpool or Spurs. Ariola was the winner because he and Bournemouth's run-in was better than Marco and Fulham and i think it was telling in the stats to the big clubs who they want. Marco took his eye off the ball and we were too inconsistent and while the record shows that we had five golden years with Marco, it also shows his shortfalls and this is why the cream jobs don't come to him. I still think the splash-outs on the likes of Kevin, Rowe, Bobb and Chuka if we get him is decent money invested into a club like ours no different to your Bournemouth's Brighton and Palace. We lost to Palace in the semi's of the FA cup and they go on to win it. Again it doesn't look too good comparing Marco and CV to Glasner's. To end this sorry saga and episode for Marco, the only job he could take to save face was Benfica and the only reason why Benfica caught the eye was only because Mourinho vacated it for Real Madrid.

Craven, I 100% agree with you. After supporting Fulham since 1945, I just wouldn't welcome that man to my club. He would bore us all to death, and we would be in a fight at the bottom from day one. I wouldn't even like him at my local club, Crawley Town.

He didn’t walk the championship with the most valuable team in the championship and players with premier league experience. Like Parker, a championship specialist but a premier league failure. As much as as I like a young manager, I feel it would be a bit of a risk. The fact is our squad is not as good as we think. The good solids players are all getting past 30. The young ones are not still learning. The so called ready made players like ESR and Bobb are not setting the world alight. I feel we need an experienced manager.

Have a pop at getting Nagellsman, yes i know we won't get him but you get my drift. Amorim would be interesting and acceptable to give him a chance to redeem himself in England after his Man Utd disaster. Are the Khans planning to go cheap and recruit the safe option that can keep us in the prem a while longer? We should be looking to push on from our not so lofty 11th position instead of trying to consolidate and survive another term by appointing Dyche. Lol' i like Cravens Comments on Dyche's accent? I imagine Craven to sit and eat at the best tables and drink the best fine wines like (most) of Fulham fans do, lol.
