A lightening start from Fulham set us on our way to a first away win of the season at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday night.
We were two up inside the opening six minutes, with Kenny Tete’s deflected effort quickly followed by a Harry Wilson wonderstrike when we capitalised on a poor Guglielmo Vicario clearance.
Samuel Chukwueze then hit the post as we threatened to put the game out of sight before half-time.
Spurs were markedly improved after the break and did get back into it through an excellent Mohammed Kudus goal, but the boys battled resolutely to take the three points back down to SW6.
Marco Silva – taking charge of his 200th Fulham match – made just the one change to the side that defeated Sunderland last time out. Chukwueze’s reward for his game-changing cameo against the Black Cats was a first Premier League start, at the expense of Kevin who dropped to the bench, where he was joined by Saša Lukic who returned having served his one game ban.
Fulham needed just three-and-a-half minutes to break the deadlock, and it was an unlikely source as Tete bagged – via a deflection – his first goal for nearly two years when he lashed in from the edge of the box following good work down the left from Chukwueze.
Things got even better a matter of seconds later courtesy of some panicky goalkeeping from Vicario. After making the decision to come out to the ball, he beat Raúl Jiménez to it but then cleared straight to Josh King, who calmly fed Wilson who bent in a ridiculous finish from a ridiculous angle and ridiculous distance.
We weren’t even at 10 minutes when Chukwueze threatened to make it three, but he was denied twice in the box as he looked to pull the trigger, by Micky van de Ven and then Destiny Udogie, at the expense of a corner.
From that set-piece, Chuka was a menace again, collecting the ball after it wasn’t cleared, before beating a man and thumping the upright from 20 yards.

Spurs just could not live with the winger, and he looked set to make it 3-0 in the 26th minute when he burst through and rounded Vicario, but van de Ven made a superb recovery to snatch the ball off him at the last with a crucial slide tackle.
The home side attempted to begin the second half in the ascendency, but Fulham held firm, with Calvin Bassey repelling a Randal Kolo Muani strike, before Bernd Leno did well to punch away a Kudus corner from under his crossbar.
Kolo Muani had been his side’s biggest threat on the night, and half the ground thought he’d reduced the deficit when he got a good flick on Pedro Porro’s cross, but his header ended up in the side-netting.
It was proving to be Spurs’ best spell of the game, and they made it count just before the hour mark when Kudus thundered a dipping volley into the postage stamp of Leno’s goal.
That goal changed the dynamic of the home fans, who twice almost celebrated an equaliser in the 66th minute. First, substitute Xavi Simons was denied by an outstanding Joachim Andersen block, and the corner that followed saw Raúl prevent Lucas Bergvall’s looping header from crossing the line.
Fulham had not made much headway into the opposition box since the restart, until a positive Ryan Sessegnon run was picked out by Sander Berge. He squared to Emile Smith Rowe, but van de Ven blocked the substitute’s effort.
Some ingenuity from Kolo Muani threatened an equaliser with 10 to play when he tackled Tete six yards out and sent a backheel just wide of the post.
Kevin was introduced to give the boys a new outlet on the left, and he quickly drew a save from Vicario, but a deflection had taken the pace off and it was a routine stop.
Fulham were seeing the game out well, personified by Tete in stoppage time with a ruthless tackle and well won free-kick, as we successfully saw out four added minutes to secure a first ever win in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Fulham boss Marco Silva:
"I'm very proud of the boys. We have been really speaking about the games on the road and all that stuff, so it was very important for us to win. We knew that it was going to happen one day and we prepared ourselves again for that tonight.
"What a great first half from us, definitely. We got two early goals so we were clinical, but we probably should've scored more in the first half. The way we controlled our game during the first 35 minutes was pleasing, we didn't leave anything for them and our fast attacks were very good. We created a lot of problems for them. It was definitely important to score early, like always, but it was the way that we kept our discipline."

A panicked clearance then falls to the feet of King, who skips past one challenge before laying the ball off to Wilson near the touchline.
The Wales international wastes no time in looking to catch Vicario off his line and curls his long-range effort into the back of the net from a tight angle!
Wow, superb finish but what on earth was Vicario thinking?)
