Fulham fell to defeat against Everton at Craven Cottage, despite bettering their opponents for large parts of the game.

An own goal gave the Whites the lead in the first-half, but two goals after the break turned things around for the Toffees.

On the Club’s annual Celebration Day, kick-off was preceded by a touching tribute to members of the Fulham family we lost in 2025. Names and images of loved ones were displayed on the Craven Cottage big screen, and all supporters took part in a period of applause as wreaths were laid on the pitch.

The first chance fell to the away side inside eight minutes as Jake O’Brien rose highest at a corner, but Fulham managed to clear their lines after the header bounced off the inside of the far post.

When Marco’s men attacked at the other end, Jordan Pickford’s clearance looped up nicely for Sander Berge, with a goalline clearance needed to divert the Norway international’s effort away from goal.

The deadlock was broken when the ball broke to Ryan Sessegnon after Samuel Chukwueze’s lovely scoop over the top towards Alex Iwobi. The drilled cross fell to Raúl Jiménez, whose shot was saved by Pickford before being bundled over the line by Vitalii Mykolenko.

It was almost a quickfire second when Chukwueze broke through, but his fierce effort was kept out by Pickford, who managed to push the ball past the post this time.

Emile Smith Rowe was next to go close as the pressure continued. His superb curling effort from outside the box was so nearly perfect, but it cannoned back off the crossbar.

When Everton caught Fulham on the counter-attack, Joachim Andersen did well to keep pace with Thierno Barry and stick a foot in to deflect the striker’s finish behind for a corner.

Still, the Whites dominated, and when Smith Rowe found Raúl in the middle, our number seven arguably should have done better as he fired wide on the spin.

With just over ten minutes left in the first half, Iliman Ndiaye picked out Harrison Armstrong at the back post, but the midfielder’s volley dropped harmlessly wide.

Chukwueze pulled the strings once more as we looked to double our lead on the stroke of half-time, threading a ball through to Smith Rowe, only for the midfielder to be denied by Pickford. Moments later, when the ball dropped to Chukwu, his powerful effort skimmed the woodwork on its way over.

Everton looked to respond after the break but it was still the hosts who looked more likely to score. On the hour mark, Harry Wilson played in Chukwueze and when he unselfishly squared, Raúl was inches away from converting on the six-yard line.

There was a worrying moment when Jorge Cuenca stayed down following a heavy collision from a corner. After receiving some treatment, he got back to his feet and was able to continue.

Everton equalised with 15 minutes left when Mykolenko cut in from the left and centred for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to sweep past Bernd Leno.

Rodrigo Muniz – introduced shortly before the goal – came close to marking his return from injury with a goal, but he couldn’t get the right direction on his overhead kick. Leno then had to be alert, coming quickly off his line to stop Beto.

The visitors completed the turnaround in the final ten minutes. As O’Brien battled – legally in the eyes of the referee – with Leno at a corner, the ball went in off our keeper.

Muniz was given another sight of goal but looped a headed effort over the bar, and time soon ran out for Fulham to rescue a point on a rainy afternoon in SW6.

Fulham boss Marco Silva:
"He [Jake O'Brien] was interfering [for Everton's winner], but to be honest, I am so disappointed and we should be disappointed with ourselves much more than talk about the referee.

"It is really the moment to look for us. We have to be more brave, to be more aggressive in all the moments we conceded the goals."
