Fulham failed to score against Leicester
at Filbert Street but managed to bring home a valuable away point. Boss
Jean Tigana will not be happy that there were so few chances created for
Luis Boa Morte, Louis Saha and new man Steve Marlet to take advantage of.
He may also have another injury problem as Sylvain Legwinski had to go off
after coming on at halftime. Once again we played good football in the midfield
but could not convert the possession into goals. Some fans may be a bit
disappointed but another away point in the pot is not bad news for the Whites.
As long as the squad keep working at playing good football the goals will
come.
Other Saturday games
A late equaliser from striker Michael Ricketts saw ten-man Bolton
hold Arsenal to a draw at Highbury on Saturday to stay top of the
Premiership.
Liverpool overcame Tottenham 1-0 in a match where Michael
Owen pulled a hamstring and is now a doubt for England's crucial World Cup
qualifier with Greece on October 6.
Manchester United, who rested key players, trounced Ipswich with
two goals in either half.
At the Stadium of Light, Sunderland staged a dramatic comeback to
overcome a two goal deficit against Charlton .
Blackburn beat Everton 1-0, despite being on the back foot
during the first half as midfielder Paul Gascoigne pulled the strings in
midfield.
Sunday games
Leeds United are back on top of the Premiership table after maintaining
their fine start to the season on Sunday. A first-half header from Erik
Bakke and two goals from Harry Kewell after the interval sealed a 3-0 win
against Derby County at Elland Road.
Chelsea's hopes of underlining their title credentials were dented
by a last-gasp penalty at Stamford Bridge from Middlesboro. Jimmy
Floyd Hasselbaink struck twice in the first half to put Chelsea in charge.Robbie
Stockdale's deflected effort reduced the deficit after the interval, but
Chelsea seemed safe until a stoppage time handball by Graeme le Saux. The
referee ignored the incident, but his linesman awarded a penalty and Alen
Boksic fired past Ed de Goey to leave the Blues seething.
Finally, West Ham United lifted themselves off the bottom of the
table with a comprehensive 3-0 victory against Newcastle at Upton
Park. The win - West Ham's first of the season - lifts them five places
to 15th and leaves Southampton rooted to the foot of the Premiership table.
As for Newcastle, they have now played 26 games in London without returning
to Tyneside with a victory.
The Fulhamweb prediction
was a victory of at least 3-1 to Fulham and a crowd of 17671 as we know
the result was 0-0 in front of a crowd of 18918
