Fulham have agreed a deal for 28-year-old Sevilla winger Lucas Ocampos with his club.

According to reports, Fulham are keen on having Lucas Ocampos in their ranks ahead of next season.

Ocampos has been a part of Sevilla since joining them back in 2019 from Marseille. The 28-year-old has been an important part of their first team setup over the years and has played his part in their success.

Ahead of the 2022/23 season, Ajax came calling for the Argentine international. The Dutch club were looking for a potential replacement for Antony after selling him to Manchester United in what was a big-money move. And, they managed to land him at the club on loan.

However, the loan move was cut sort mid-way through the season, the 28-year-old returned to his parent club in January. And, post his return, he played an integral part in helping them win the UEFA Europa League title.

The Argentine winger played the entire 120 minutes in the final and even slotted home the opening penalty in the shootout. While Ocampos remains an important part of their first-team setup, his future is uncertain.

The 28-year-old’s contract at the club runs out in the summer of 2024. And, at this point in time, there are no talks of a potential contract extension. With his contract running down, the Spanish club do not really have many options to work with. And they will look to sell him in the ongoing season or might have to risk losing out on him for free next summer.

Meanwhile, Fulham are one of the clubs interested in prising him away from Spain. The Cottagers did a decent job in the 2022/23 seasons and are looking to build on it with reinforcement. They are looking for a wide attacker and Ocampos is one of their targets apart from others like Patrick Wimmer.
