Match Stats - Norwich v Fulham 04.12.04

last updated Friday 03rd December 2004, 3:36 PM
Big match facts from BBCSport NORWICH CITY and Fulham meet for the first time ever in a top flight football match. Canaries manager Nigel Worthington would dearly love to celebrate four years in charge at Carrow Road with a repeat of their last home game when they beat Southampton 2-1 to end their 13-match wait for a first Premiership victory of the season.
  • The Norfolk club go into the match second bottom in the Premiership, two points off the foot but only two points below 14th place. They've won just one of 15 Premiership outings under Worthington, and scored 86% of their League goals in the second half. Only two of their 14 netted, have been before the break.
  • The Norfolk club were 'doubled' by Fulham when they last met in the Nationwide Division One four seasons ago. Victory for City would bring them level at 11 wins each in the League head-to-head standings with the Londoners.
  • Won one of the last 10 in all competitions.
  • Won only one of 15 Premiership matches this season.
  • One of two clubs with just a single victory in the top League. The other is West Brom.
  • Registered one win in 23 Premiership matches.
  • Still the draw specialists of the top tier, having finished level nine times.
  • One stalemate shy of 900 draws in their League history, and 700 post war.
  • Won one, drawn 10 and lost 12 Premiership outings since beating Ipswich 3-0 at home on 20 March 1995.
  • Collected 30, 27 and 21 points from the first 15 games of their three previous Premiership campaigns, and 33, 27 and 24 after the first 16 games in 1992/93, 1993/94 and 1994/95 when eventually finishing third, 12th and 20th respectively.
  • Beaten 49 times in Premier League history.
  • Netted only 14 goals in the highest division. Only Birmingham (12) and West Brom (13) have scored fewer.
  • Scored first only twice in this League season - fewer than any other club in the top League.
  • Come from behind seven times in Premiership games. No other teams have managed that more often.
  • Scored fewer goals (two) and conceded more (15) than any other club in the first half of Premiership matches.
  • Won two of eight at home in all competitions.
  • Won one of seven home Premiership games.
  • One of four clubs to have registered just a single home win at the uppermost League level. The others are Birmingham, Blackburn and West Brom.
  • Failed to score once and kept just one clean sheet in home League encounters this season. Those being in the one game, a goalless draw with against Aston Villa.
  • Lost only two of seven home League clashes at Carrow Road.
FULHAM travel to East Anglia, anxious to halt a four match losing run in League and Cup, which culminated in Tuesday's dismissal from the Carling Cup by near neighbours Chelsea, who had to rely on a Frank Lampard strike and Edwin van der Sar error two minutes from time. The Cottagers have already lost more times in the top League than any other club this season, and a tenth reverse here would see them overtaken by the Canaries.
  • The Thames-side club are in danger of tumbling to a fourth successive Premiership defeat for the first time under Chris Coleman. They last experienced an unbroken quartet of pointless games between 23 October and 9 November 2002.
  • The Cottagers have won five, drawn five and lost five League games at Norwich. They're on course for a third successive League victory at Carrow Road.
  • Lost last four in all competitions.
  • Lost last three in the Premiership against Chelsea (1-4 h), Everton (1-0 a) and Blackburn (0-2 h).
  • Gone 13 matches in all competitions (eight in the Premiership) without a draw.
  • Drawn two top flight games. Only Liverpool have finished level on so few occasions.
  • Lost nine times in the top tier - more than any other club.
  • Conceded 27 Premiership goals. Only Blackburn (29) and West Brom (28) have shipped more.
  • Failed to score in six Premiership games, and lost all six.
  • Scored only once in the first 15 minutes of Premiership games.
  • Players been shown four red cards in top tier encounters this season.
  • Won one of seven away League games this season.
  • Failed to score in three of the last four top division games on the road.
  • Not kept a clean sheet on their Premiership travels this term.
  • Pape Bouba DIOP had a spell on loan at Norwich.
  • If involved, Mark PEMBRIDGE will be making his 450th appearance for English clubs.
