CRYSTAL PALACE and Fulham lock horns for the first ever time in top flight football. Rock bottom and winless Palace are chasing a first home point in their 500th top flight match, while mid table Fulham are seeking a first away League win in this Monday night match.
  • The only points Iain Dowie's side have chalked up so far are from 1-1 away draws in their first and last Premiership games at Norwich and Aston Villa. They've lost all three League games at Selhurst Park, including their first and only London derby to date - a 0-2 reverse by Chelsea.
  • The Eagles have lost four and drawn five home League meetings with Fulham since winning 3-2 in the old League - Division Two on 19 April 1969.
  • One victory short of bagging exactly 50 League points under Iain Dowie.
Battling to avoid a sixth defeat in the Premiership this season having been beaten by Everton (h), Chelsea (h), Middlesbrough (a), Portsmouth (a) and
  • Manchester City (h) - all between 1-1 draws at Norwich and Aston Villa.
  • Pressing for a first win in nine League games.
  • Drawn two and lost six regulation League matches since beating Walsall 1-0 at home on 1 May.
  • Most recent Premiership victory was 1-0 at home to Sheffield Wednesday in the last game of the 1997/98 season on 10 May 1998.
  • Palace's fewest points collected after the first eight games in previous Premiership campaigns was five in 1992/93.
  • Scored one goal in each of the last four League games.
  • Not managed more than a single goal in a Premiership game this season, but scored in all but one of their seven outings.
  • Without a point at home, having scored just two goals and shipped seven in three matches so far.
  • This match provides the opportunity of an "old boys' reunion" for Mark HUDSON and Kit SYMONS.
  • Suspended: Neil SHIPPERLEY
FULHAM are preparing for the Premiership's fifth of 30 London derbies this term and their own second, following the 0-3 home defeat by Arsenal.
  • The Cottagers have picked up just two points from the nine available on the road, and have totalled 70 points from a possible 150 in 50 top flight games under Chris Coleman. They're looking to follow-up last weekend's 1-0 home triumph over Southampton with their first back-to-back League victories in a year to the day.
  • The Cottagers 'doubled' Palace when they last met in the Nationwide First Division in 2000/01, and have not lost an away League encounter with the Selhurst Park outfit in nine occasions spanning 30 years.
  • Won the last two in all competitions.
  • The 1-0 home success over Southampton last time out, was Fulham's first win in five Premiership outings.
  • Scored one goal in each of the last two League games.
  • Failed to score in two of their seven top flight encounters so far.
  • Last registered back-to-back victories in the Premiership 38 games ago, against Blackburn (0-2 a) and Leicester (2-0 h) on 28 September and 4 October 2003 respectively.
  • Last season, Fulham's best in the Premiership, they accrued 14 points after the first seven games and 15 after the first eight.
  • The Cottagers' lowest previous total after the first seven and eight outings of a Premiership season was seven in their first campaign at this level in 2001/02.
  • Of 11 goals conceded, four have been shipped in the middle 15 minutes of the first half of Premiership games, and four in the middle quarter-hour of the second half.
