Fulham keeper
Maik Taylor |

Fulham have confirmed that Maik Taylor has joined Birmingham City on a one year loan deal with the option to join the Club permanently at the end of the season should Birmingham City remain in the Premiership.
Taylor, who joined Fulham in 1997, was Fulham's first choice keeper until the arrival of Edwin van der Sar in summer 2001. Having played a significant part in the team's Premiership survival last season due to an injury sustained by van der Sar, Taylor did not want to return to a potential second choice status, and with a player of Van der Sar's calibre in the squad, there was no guarantee that this would not be the case.
Maik feels that he is worthy of playing regular first team football and believes that he will be able to do this at Birmingham.
Fulham officials stated that they had to understand and accept that and were incredibly sorry to see Maik go as he has been a consummate professional at Fulham a great squad player and a favourite of the fans. The Club wished him all the best for the future.
