Maik Taylor has hit out at suggestions that Jean Tigana's inability to speak English could affect the team's chances in the long term.
Fulham broke a club record by making it seven straight wins in the First Division this season when they beat Nottingham Forest at the weekend, and Taylor says stories about Tigana's communication problems are wide of the mark.
He said: "People think our boss doesn't speak much English but he knows enough to get his message across. He says he wants everyone to express themselves, to pass the ball and play without being afraid of making occasional mistakes.
"He tells us he gives the orders and he will accept responsibility if it goes wrong. It's great to have that sort of freedom. The boys have really responded to it."
