Fulham outcast Alain Goma is hoping to resurrect his career in England.

The Frenchman was released by Cottagers boss Chris Coleman at the end of last season as his contract had run its course.

Despite having five solid years behind him at Fulham, Goma was used sparingly towards the end of last term, and he still cannot fathom Coleman's lack of trust in him.

"I only played a single match in the last three months, and for no reason. The coach did not appreciate me very much," he reflected in an interview with L'Yonne-Republicaine.

Goma believes that he is better off away from Fulham, but is not planning to leave London.

The 33-year-old insists that he loves the English style of football, and is hoping to seal a transfer to another club based in the capital.

"As he (Coleman) is staying this year, I prefer leaving.

"I am still in training, and I am ready. I have had some contacts but nothing concrete.

"I am happy in England, and I wish to stay in London or close by. I love London. The city is nice and multicultural.

"The English league is interesting, as the atmosphere is different to France. The players give their all, the matches are tactical and the players are skilful."
