Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner looks set to remain at The Emirates until at least the end of the season after Arsenal reportedly rejected a £5 million bid from Fulham.

Cottagers boss Mark Hughes is desperate to add a striker to a squad that has struggled to score goals since Bobby Zamora suffered a broken leg in September.

According to the Sun, one of the Fulham manager's transfer targets was Bendtner and he tested the water with an offer.

Hughes found Arsenal were unwilling to sell for £5 million, as they apparently value the 22-year-old at more than £6.5 million.

The Denmark international missed the early part of the season with injury and has found first-team opportunities hard to come by since his return to fitness, with Gunners manager Arsene Wenger preferring Robin van Persie or Marouane Chamakh.

Bendtner marked his first start of the Premier League campaign with a goal in the 2-2 draw at Wigan Athletic on Wednesday, but appears likely to spend much of the rest of the season on the bench.

He has been linked with loan moves to Everton and Lazio, but has made it clear he would rather fight for his place than leave Arsenal on a temporary basis.
