Bolton striker Kevin Davies will be sidelined for up to six weeks after suffering a torn hamstring against Newcastle.

Davies picked up the injury in the second half of the Premier League opener on Saturday and was withdrawn in the 57th minute.

Heidar Helguson replaced the former Southampton man and he could be set for an extended run in Sammy Lee's side.

Davies' injury comes as a huge blow ahead of the game against Fulham, but will give Helguson a chance against his former club.

"Davo has suffered a slight tear in a hamstring and will be out for up to six weeks," Lee told the club's official website.

"It's obviously a massive blow as he's such an influential player in our team but it will give an opportunity for somebody else to stake their claim."

Ricardo Vaz Te also picked up a foot injury in the 3-1 defeat to Newcastle and will undergo a scan on Monday.

Meanwhile, Christian Wilhelmsson has received international clearance and may face Fulham in midweek.

The Swedish international, who has joined Bolton on a season-long loan, could replace Vaz Te in the starting line-up at Craven Cottage.
