Ray Wilkins gets England job

Ex-Fulham Manager Ray Wilkins has been named as assistant coach to the England Under-21 side.

The former England captain will take up the role alongside Peter Taylor on a part-time basis.

Wilkins has a wealth of coaching experience having managed both Queens Park Rangers and Fulham before undertaking coaching roles at Chelsea, Watford and Millwall.

The 48-year-old will undertake his new role for the first time for the friendly with Denmark on August 16.

"It's an absolute privilege for me to be involved with the England Under-21s," said Wilkins.

"I've had experience with them once before with Dave Sexton and I enjoyed it very much."

Meanwhile, Fulham defender Liam Rosenior is named in the squad. Liam has previously made two starts and a substitution appearance for the U"! squad
