Premier weekend game details 08.02.03

last updated Friday 07th February 2003, 12:35 AM
Fulham FC returns to Saturday football with a Premiership home game against Aston Villa. The Villians, once regarded as a top flight giant, are 8 points and 4 places better off than The Cottagers after playing an extra game. Fulham play that game in hand on Wednesday evening against West Brom and need to win so get down there and support the team.

Aston Villa have lost just one in their last 6 league games but have only won once and drawn 4 times on their travels in the Premiership this season, a similar away record to Fulham's. Last season when Villa visited Fulham the game ended in a 0-0 bore draw. With Villa's away record Fulham should accept nothing less than 3 points.

At the bottom of the Premiership Sunderland travel to Tottenham with the Bookies giving the Black Cats no chance at all after their tough midweek game in the FA Cup. West Ham are also on their travels, going to Leeds, with their Yorkshire opponents odds on to take the points. West Brom have a home fixture against fellow strugglers Bolton in a battle royal that could bring The Baggies within a point of Bolton and hopes of salvation. The Birmingham Blues are at home to the Fulham Broadway Blues and if our Bookie friends are any judge Steve Bruce will be crying in his beer, again.

At the top Arsenal visit Newcastle and Man U are at home to Man C, fun and games in Manchester thats for sure.

Fulham will not change position in the league regardless of if they win or lose on Saturday however the result in combination with the result on Wednesday will decide if we will have a chance to leapfrog Middlesbrough into 14th place.
